Hi Everyone,

I had a busy weekend! Here is what I did workout-wise:

Saturday morning
Run around the block
30 Ball Slams
25 Box Jumps
Farmer's walk up and down the driveway
150 Jump Ropes
Farmer's walk up and down the driveway
25 Box Jumps
30 Ball Slams
Run around the block

Sunday
6 mile run at 6:30 am
1 hour swim this afternoon. I didn't count laps, just swam slow and easy.

Lisa ~ Sounds like you have been riding a lot. I agree riding and fishing are definitely workouts.

Tricia ~ I have always wanted to do the rock climbing wall. Sounds like fun!

Hi ladies,
Today is a day off so I, um, yeah, got up early to go, um, horseback riding :eek:. Maybe I have a problem? I'm also going tomorrow. It's funny because when I ride for work its work (don't get me wrong, it can be lots of fun but its still work) and so on my days off I still want to ride for fun because they two totally different types of rides. Anyway, I tried to take the dogs for a walk on the beach after but the wind was blowing the sand and that's not fun for them so we called it quits. I'm going to try to do a Cathe weight workout this afternoon and walk the dogs around the block.

Tricia - Glad you enjoyed your Tabata workout. What exercises did you do?

Alisha - Glad you got a good workout with RS this morning!

Jane - I like your Saturday workout! Sounds good and sweaty! LOL! Today's looked good too! I'll bet the pool felt great in this hothouse we're in right now!

Lisa - Yes, you have a problem, but it's a good and fun one! I can see how you'd want to get a good ride in for fun after taking other people out. It is a totally different focus! Today's been horribly windy up here as well, but not a cool wind. Just hot and windy!

For my tabata I did in the first set burpees with a pushup and overhead press with 8 lb dbs. I had to drop the pushups after about the 5th round because I can't do too many full out push ups yet and you can't get into a knee pushup fast enough for tabata! For the second set, I did squat taps with jumping lunges. Don't remember what's on tap for tomorrow. I'll have to check that tonight so I know what to set up.

Hot and sweaty

Sheesh, it was 73 degrees and really muggy this morning, its like I got Tricia's or Jane's weather. I did a joggle and then about 20 min. of yoga. I'm behaving myself today, no diet infractions here.

Here is my workout for tonight.

10 Rounds
20 Squats
5 Renegade Manmakers
10 Swings
5 Push ups
10 1-arm sit ups (5/5)

We still have rain chances this week but they are lower compared to last week so hopefully I can get a run in later this week.

Tricia ~ Glad you had fun with Tabata. There are lots of fun variations out there.

Alisha ~ Good job of going out there and joggling in the humidity.

Lisa ~ I'm sure there is a big difference between riding for fun and riding for work so no worries!

Sorry, Alisha! Didn't mean to send all this your way! We had some serious rain this afternoon, but luckily, none of the thunderstorms!

Jane - Great workout!

I couldn't believe how much DOMS I had just from that short test run of tabata! My body sure like it! I'm looking forward to much more of it!

Ended up doing Push and Pull again this morning because I couldn't find my Low Impact Circuit workout! After re-downloading it and moving it around, I remembered that its titled "Cathe-Low Impact Circuit." I was looking in the Ls and should have been looking under C! I'm so bummed! I'm going to change that right now!

I spent today eating and playing (riding, boogie boarding, walking the dogs). I just managed to push out two rounds of CC Pump - mostly out of guilt. I did the first round as written then added in new exercises for the second round but sticking with Sean's cueing and counting.

I hope everyone had a great day. 73 degrees sounds so cool and inviting! Our overnight lows are in the 80s.

Tricia - That's so frustrating!

Jane - I hope it doesn't rain on you (or me) too much this week.

Lisa- Did you know that I brag about my online friend who does the coolest stuff, she rides horses, runs with dogs, digs in the yard, and now I can add to the list, that Lisa, my cool friend online, boogie boards. I figure its :cool: by association. You know I wish I did half the cool stuff that you do.

Of course, that calls to mind some of those old disco songs from the 1970s.:p

I had planned to do Powermax tomorrow, but I might take it as a rest day because I have to go to work early tomorrow. It depends on how early I wake up. I prefer to be all done with my sweatfest before I go to work and have a different sweatfest.

Well anyway, hello everyone!!! I'll try to catch up.

Friday I did Cathe's Shock Cardio Kickbox workout. I found it very intermediate. I really liked the combos when they were all put together but felt like we spent too much time building up to them. And when she went to the floor for core work I noticed we were only at the 35 minute mark and the warm up was 10 minutes so not much of a cardio workout. I guess it is good for when you are doing STS strength so you can recover but stand alone, it's too easy IMO.

Saturday I went to spin class. LOVE spin class. :)

Sunday I did HIIT 25 and a 2 mile joggle. It was 80 and humid even at 7:30 when I went out.

Yesterday was a rest day, today is spin again, then I will have another run of TurboFire workouts.

Alisha - I agree, Lisa does really cool stuff. I sit in an office (or at my home desk) and talk on the phone all day. :)

Lisa - How intense is CC Pump? I have it but never did it. It's embarrassing how many DVD's and workouts I have but haven't done.

Tricia - I LOVE LIC. Sorry you mised it. My photos are a mess on my hard drive. I don't have any Cathe download or they would be a mess too.

Jane - We are just in a regular summer weather pattern. Hot, humid, some rain, hot, humid, some rain. It's good for the crops.

Good Afternoon!

Yesterday's workout was a sweaty mess...good workout but really humid. I made myself run around the block afterwards and I was attacked by gnats!! :eek::eek:

I'm going swimming today. There's a slight chance of rain today. Hopefully I'll be able to get in 100 laps.

Cindi ~ I hope those Vibrams work for you!! Your weather is the same as ours although we pretty much have that from May - September.

Lisa ~ You do the coolest stuff!! I'm like Cindi, I sit in an office all day and return emails.

Lisa - Your ears must be burning! We all talk about our friend Lisa who is the queen of cross training! You couldn't get me in the ocean on any kind of board! Although paddleboarding looks like fun!

Alisha - Ooooh, I love 70s disco music! The dancing was the greatest!

Cindi - Too funny! I don't forget to post, but I have deleted a few! You've had some good workout days in there! I'm just going to have to find some place to work LIC in! I saw the new Vibrams! They look awesome! Those could be a good option for you if the heel feels good!

Jane - Ugh! I really don't miss the gnats! We don't have those up here! Hope you got your laps in today!

So, it's High Step Challenge for me tomorrow, albeit on a low step as I don't have a high step yet! This is going to be a new one for me too!

I was tired today. It's been a busy day, but a long one! I may have to take more than one rest day this weekend. I may be close to taking a full week off! I whacked the doo-doo out of my right knee at the office yesterday! It's sore and bruised, but otherwise okay. Just call me Grace!

Oh ladies, that's so sweet! You make me sound way cooler than I am :eek:. I'm just a nerdy woman who refuses to grow up and get a "real job" and freaks when she gets water up her nose but your comments made me feel really cool!! Thanks for the boost!

I rode for work this morning and then Cori and I went boogieboarding again today. The ocean wasn't as rough so we spent a lot more time in the water. I am beat now. I did stumble my way through Bum Bum but I'm not going to pretend that I put out my best effort today. I got up and did it though. I also walked the dogs.

Cindi - Pump isn't all that hard. It's set up as 5 rounds, two exercises per round, two sets of each exercise. It really just hits the biggest muscle groups but it's a cop-out workout for me when I want to get lifting but need to start back or something really quick and easy. I'll double up and go through the workout two or three times subbing in new exercises if I want more of a workout and just want Coach Sean to count for me.

Thanks Lisa - sounds like Pump is a good workout for me given I'm not a big weight person. :)

Tricia - hope you knee feels better! The heel is still really stiff in the morning and I'm not sure how the workouts are affecting it. I feel the stiffness coming back just from walking around the house, cleaning, making dinner etc. So the shoes are good - they don't make the problem worse. But at the same time, I'm not sure if I should make more effort to just stay off my feet entirely for a while and see if it goes away more fully. It's kind of a nagging discomfort by the end of the day. It's not even about running at this point, you know?

Jane - love those gnats! YUCK! I hope you didn't swallow any.

So I didn't go to spin class last night - I had to do some calls for work. Instead I did today's workout last night (Fire 45 EZ + 2 mile joggle). Today I will either do spin class or move tomorrow's workout to today depending on what I can squeeze in.

I did a 80 lap swim last night. The water felt really good.

I'm doing a 3 mile run tonight.

Tricia ~ I love High Step Challenge. I haven't done it in a while but it's a good one. Hope your knee is ok. LOL!! I do stuff like that all the time. I get bruises and have no clue where they come from.

Cindi ~ I managed not to swallow any gnats. They are just a pain. I should have sprayed my hat as well. That might help. I remember going to a race last August and there were tons of gnats flying around before the race. Luckily we brought bug spray. We had lots of people asking if they could use our stuff.

Lisa ~ I don't want to grow up either unfortunately I do have a "real" job. I need to have a non-real job like you!! :)

Lisa - The way I'm feeling today, I'm likely to hitch a ride down to you and spend the rest of my summer! It'd be a lot more fun - even rolling hay in the horse muck! Glad you had more fun today!

Cindi - I'm the queen of shuffling! Unfortunately, it's usually my weekend runs that get shuffled, right out of the rotation! LOL! You're still getting it done!

Jane - Love your lap swims! Good for you!

Let's all quit our real jobs and go down and help Lisa! I'm game! The knee is better today, thanks. Just a nice bruise. It's amazing how much pain you can take and still not do any damage!

HSC was a real challenge for me this morning! Got to bed early, the pups didn't get up, but I was still a bit tired. I started crapping out in the 5th circuit. At least I made it that far. Plus, my bands are too short and I have to modify a lot of the exercises in this one! Gotta order me some Cathe bands!

Thanks for the sympathy. I made up for it - I took a sick day today. I do have a bit of a sinus headache, so it's not a total fib. I'm hardly ever sick enough to be out anyway. In total, since I've worked there, I may have taken 5 sick days - two last year when I had the flu, one for a migraine a couple of times and today. I lose them if I don't use them anyway. This is the first time I've actually played hookie. That's why I'm staying off of FB today! Better safe than sorry! I"m supposed to have a migraine.

After that incident yesterday, I decided I needed a break. It was hard. I almost didn't do it.

Cindi - Awesome!

So, I struggled my way through IMAX3 this morning. I've only done this one once before so the choreography had me bumbling around a bit and I was tired. I'm so exhausted today. Combination of not enough hours of sleep and the crappy day yesterday.

Here's to having a wonderful, relaxing Thursday and a better day at work tomorrow! At least it'll be Friday!

It's B&G tomorrow for me. Overall Legs Premix.
 
Hi Everyone,

Whew!! Yesterday's run was HOT, HOT, HOT!!! I managed to eek out 3 miles but I started getting the jumping monkeys in my stomach at the end and just walked instead. This was after drinking a TON of water and also taking water doing the run. There are those days when the heat wins!

Here is what I'm doing today.

3 Rounds
200m run
20 push ups
20 sit ups
200m run
20 push press 10/10
20 squats
200m run
10 Pull ups
20 Swings

Tricia ~ Everyone needs a mental health day every once in a while. I totally understand crappy work days. They finally banished my boss from the office because he is such a jerk (actually jerk is too nice a word for him). He is no longer my boss and things have been much better since.

Lisa ~ I'm packing my car and heading north. ;) I want to muck some hay!!
