New Fitness by Cathe Product: Step Shox

I would only use 1 pair. I think 2 would make it slide more. The "feet" bumpers on the step and risers sit on top of the foam pad and will take awhile to make their impressions into the foam. If you have 2 stacked together or in between 2 risers it might slide. But that's just my opionion from trying it on the high step, not the full step for 2.

I am still surprised that this product is not on Cathe's website. Thanks to the original poster for clueing us all into this!

Hi Jeanette -- no problem! I'm just glad more are in stock! I am surprised, too, that it is not mentioned on the website.

I use the step shox every time I step, and like you, I've noticed most that the board feels more springy. I think it's a great product!

I usually have one side that slips just a tiny bit, but it is not anything that impedes my workout. Let me know how the double-sided tape works! :)

just ordered, too...so, whoever has these, what have you noticed most? i am hoping it will help impact w/ HIIT, Intensity, etc.

Hi Laina,

I tried my shox for the first time yestserday...4DS HIS. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I had completed cut out all high impact step and even backed off of the low impact ones for quite a while (more than a year). I just started doing step again about once a week, but still noticed a minimal amount of pain/discomfort afterwards (lasted no more than 24-48 hrs).

During my wo yesterday, I didn't notice any sliding during the routine and really wouldn't have known they were even there except for the slight springiness mentioned by another poster. Best part though was that I didn't feel a thing in my knees:eek: Now, I didn't go all out crazy with the high impact stuff (I wanted to be cautious), but I did jump a little more than I normally would and still had no issues. With these, I think I will be able to do step routines more frequently. Oh, I should also mention that I also use puzzle mats under my platform so that when I step off, it's not on the ground.

I got these a week or so ago when Amazon had a few in stock, and I've tried them three ways: on 8 in. step, 6 in. step and high step. They do add a little height to the step.

When I used them for 8 inches, I did Athletic Step, and I could feel the increased inches and I'm not sure I liked it. But, I was tired that day, so I'll try again. I want to try the Shox with Imax1 and see what happens.

I used the Shox with Imax3, which I do on 6 inches, and I loved the way it felt. I could feel a difference in shock absorption with the jumps onto the step moves. I am really happy with this result.

Since I used the high step for leg presses, I didn't really notice anything one way or another.

I'm glad I bought these, even if I only use them for Imax3!

I definitely like these, but mine slip - a lot. I'm going to have to try the double sided tape mentioned by a poster, because I'm afraid the slippage will cause an accident. So, until then, I'm not going to use them.

Mine don't slip at all, in fact, they seem to make the step/risers more stable. I can definietly tell a difference in the height-I was breathing harder with them in. And here's a bonus-I tried them with just the 4 inch step alone, putting them between the step and my carpet. They added a little height to make it more challenging and still added great shock absorbtion. I can really notice a difference in the springi-ness of the step! Love this product and highly recommend it.
