New babies and soon to be mommies October 18th

mornig!
kara did good last night. woke up at 1 and 5..was up til about 630 and is still asleep. she has been staying up in the evening for a few hours entertaining us cooing. so far shes on a good sleep schedule..whew. This morning she went from her bed..to car to take Haley to school..back in bed and never woke up. Gettint a newborn in a carseat is not easy!

Jen-so sorry you had a rough night. at least youll be used to no sleep, right??!! I know now if I get 4 or 5 hours I wake up ready to roll. I don't even nap at all..I think Im still running on adreniline from everything. Oh..if you dont have a wipe warmer..I suggest getting one. I didnt have one iwth Haley and never really thought aboutit..but kara hates the cold wipes. Im getting one today! oh and breast pads!

I actually feel like I could workout...but dh won't let me until I at least I have my 3 week check up.

Melanie-hope your glucose test is going well....my figers are crossed for you!!!!!

Dads ETA is about 1 and the house and food prep is ready!

btw..have I mentioned that I LOVE THIS BABY!!

morning waves to everyone!! bbl

Jen, sorry for your discomforts. Sounds like your body is preparing!

Susan, your love for Kara radiates from your letters. :D Why not leave the little peanut in her carseat? My kids loved sleeping in their carseats.

Good news! Had my u/s this AM, Myranda is at 4 lbs 8 oz, and Madallynn is at 4lbs 2 oz! No changes in my cervix. Yippie! THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT! :D

My glucose screening got pushed back to tomorrow b/c the hospital didn't have the orange syrup solution. lol Oh well. Tomorrow it'll be!

DH & Jadon are going to be here in a bit. I can't wait to see them!!!

Melanie-I didnt know you had decided on names. Love them!!!! Have a great visit with your boys!
I would leave Kara in her carseat but she looked so crunched and I didnt want her uncomfy:)
She is stirring now...good thing I am READY to feed her. I have gotten so much done this morning.

Everyone have a great day!

Melanie- I love the names! Great job on cooking em! You sound so much more positive than you have. Congrats to your cervix! ;)

Susan- I just hope I love little James as much as you love Kara. Is that a common "first time mommy" fear? I haven't worried about much but one thing that does cross my mind from time to time is "Will I bond with him? And will I love him?" I'm sure I will....

Calling all the other preggos out there!!!! Where are you guys?? We miss you!

Jen-dont worry one bit..you will for sure bond with James!! I was actually worried I wouldnt/couldnt love another baby like I did Haley...NOT! The love is overwhelming!

Jen, DH was sick much of my 3rd pregnancy with Jadon. When he was born, I was overwhelmed and burned out. It took me a few days to "bond" with him compared to instantly with my other boys. Of all my kids, Jadon and I have the strongest bond. Sometimes, it's not instant...

I had a nice, quick visit with DH & Jadon. Jadon drew 6 pictures for my walls (all with blue marker, his favorite color).

My spirits are much higher today. I was hoping the u/s technician may turn "on" the 3D imaginery....but he didn't. I was hoping to be able to see their little faces....it's so hard to deceipher anything with the regular u/s....they look so alien-ish. lol

Susan, how does Kara's face rash look?

Waves to all!

Hi, all!!

Jen, I'll tell you what James is doing in there ;) He's getting you ready for some looooong nights of little sleep LOL And you'll bond with him. With DD, it took me about a week. I loved her, but was overwhelmed and filled with doubts about what I had done. But then I looked at her one day and was just head over heels!

Wendy, what an emotional month you've had, the full spectrum. Honestly, I don't even know what to say, but I hope that you're doing okay, physically and emotionally. You've been through so much, and you always manage to sound so positive. You have a remarkable spirit.

Priscilla, congrats on Lamaze graduation -- you're too cute! I never took a birthing class, never practiced breathing either. So, should you forget everything you learned (which you won't, btw ;)), rest assured, the nurses and doctor will talk you through it all!

Melanie, good luck with the glucose test tomorrow! Glad you had a nice, thought brief, visit with DH and DS. I love that he gave you artwork for your boring hospital walls :) I bet all the boys (incl. DH) miss you terribly.

Susan, sounds like you guys are adjusting well to life with Kara :) If Drew is sleeping in his car seat, I just put a folded up towel under the front, to prop it up a bit so he's not so squished looking. He will stay there for a good long while.

Had my 5 week checkup today. Looks like everything is good! I still have carpal tunnel in my right hand, which OB said can take up to 12 weeks to clear up. Fun.

Did Cardio and Weights today, with NO modifications except to add extra jumps!

Any thoughts on what to do to rebuild strength? I want to do STS but want to regain strength before doing so. I was thinking of Pure Strength for a month...?

Hey Allison! Thanks for the encouragement! About strength I was thinking Gym Style also. You can start light and then increase as your strength increases. I might start with that after James is born before starting STS although I am dying to start STS. DH is too but he will either have to start without me or just be patient. :)

I went to bed early last night and actually slept really good but I am still just so tired. DH asked me last night how I will be pregnant when we have our second and I have James to take care of. I told him that I am reconsidering a second right now. ;)

Tonight we have our Not So Scary Halloween party for the kids at work and I will be the Great Pumpkin from "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown." So I get to sit and hand out candy. Should be fun but will be a long day for me.

Hi to all!

Good Morning everyone!

Not much to report today. Just getting excited every day knowing that I'll meet Daniel soon!

Melanie, I love the names you picked! They seem to be growing right on target. I hope you have a great day with DH and kids. Glad to hear there are no cervical changes and I know you'll do just fine on the Glucose Test!

Jen, sorry about your aches. I'm starting to feel the same way too, I feel like his little head is stucked very down below.

Allison, thanks for you sweet comment. I'm trying to keep my mind open, they told us that if we need an epidural, it's best to wait until you're 4-5cm so you don't slow down the process. I'm just hoping for a vaginal delivery with or without medications!

Susan, I hope you're enjoying the company of your family. I can't wait to have my family over. It's only me and DH in TX and I miss my family so bad. I wish I had my sisters with me to share this beautiful time. I'm grateful for this forum, I've elarned a lot and you all are wonderful.

Wendy, I admire your strenght! I know your newborn will keep you even stronger. please keep us posted whenever your time allows it.

Hi to everyone else!

Hi Ladies!
Visit with dad and step mom is going great! My SM is making this baked apple cinnamon thingie you wrap in tortillas....smells soooooo good.
Melanie-any news on the glucose test?
Jen-sorry you are so tired..but glad you got some sleep. I think some first time moms are so overwhelmed and tired that it takes a little time to bond...but you will. You have wanted James for so long and tried so hard to get him...youll see. I was just so ready for Kara that it was instant.
Pricilla-when is your family coming?? It has been nice having family, but I am ready to be on my own for a while! Wont be long for you girlie!!

Heres a pic of my dad and me.....yes, I look just like him!

ok I will check back in later. HOpe everyone is having a ncie day!

Hi Everyone,

I have thinking about joining you guys but everyone is so far ahead of me. I am 16 weeks today and due April 8th, but will probably have a c-section a week or two before. I had a miscarriage last year at this same time so I have been lurking on this board for over a year. I actually feel a little stalkerish (if that is even a word) because I know so much about most of you guys!

Anyway I have one DS who is 6, and my DH is a minister. I just got all my blood work done today and it took forever.

Melanie- I was in the hospital with DS for almost 30 days so I kind of know how you feel! The worst part was all the nasty food...I was so hungry but everything was so gross I ended up eating pb&j all the time. Take care of yourself!

Congrats to all who have already delivered!

Kelli

Hi gals.

Just got my labs from the nurse for my 3 hour challenge. Goal is to be under 'target' numbers for 3 labs (fasting, 1-hr, 2-hr, 3-hr). I was over on 2, so I now have 'gestational diabetes'....most likely steroid-induced. *sigh*

My dr will also probably try to shoot past the 36-week mark now.....b/c he stated that gestational diabetes babies tend to mature a little slower. *urgh*
Which means MORE bedrest.

I'm going to growl again: GGGGGGRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWLLLLLL

Welcome (and Congrats) Kelli! Please join us! We need some 1st trimesters! My eldest so was born in April.....it was a PERFECT time of the year to deliver. :D

oh Melanie that sucks!!! I mailed you a little happy and it involes a tiny ity bit of sugar LOL.....so at least youll have it for the boys when they visit!

Welcome Kelli!

Susan- I have that same outfit for James with the duckies and stuff on it! Its so cute! That pic of you and your dad and Kara is adorable also!

Welcome Kelli! Don't feel like a stalker! I hesistated in joining so long ago when I was TTC that I understand how you feel. I bet there are some other first trimester mommies that will feel comfortable posting after seeing you post! Congrats!

Melanie- Sorry about the glucose....I think I heard your GROWL again!

Well I was able to take a nap in the sheriff office's couch before our party for the kids starts. I dozed off and on and it helped immensely. Maybe I should start taking my lunch in there.... ????

Have a great night all! I probably won't be back on after the party; I'll be fast asleep!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Hope everyone sleeps well tonight.

Melanie - sorry about the glucose test.

Kelli

Morning ladies! Slept great again! I think it helps that I go to bed early too! No action here....

Hoping to make it to a friend's baby consignment shop this weekend to do some "window shopping" and possibly buy something cute. Other than that, plan on hanging around the house and keeping it low key.

Melanie- Hope you are feeling better today!

Susan- How's Kara?

Hi to all!

Morning!

Jen-so happy you slept well! I think I paid my dues with Haley NEVER sleeping...Kara is waking up at 1 and 5 and that is just awesome by me! By this time withHaley I was a wreck....absolutly NO sleep. Kara is awesome! Just a sweetie pie. I got the wipie warmer yesterday so she is loving that.

Melanie-how are ya today?
Morning Kelli, Pricilla, Allison, Christine, Kristine, Wendy, Dawn!!!
Waves to everyone

Good morning ladies,

Sorry, I have been lurking again. I always read the posts, but sometimes I am just too lazy to write .

Doing well over here, slept great last night ;).

I am 25 weeks now, had a Dr.'s appointment on Monday and had my glucose test. Let's hope it's fine. I gained 7 pounds since last visit , so now I gained a total of 20 pounds. That's not too bad, is it.

I did 3 workouts so far this week and I am hoping to get another one in today. I am thinking weights. I sure miss my weight workouts.

Mel - Sorry about your glucose test!

Susan - That's great that Kara is so easy for you, that's wonderful!

Jen - You are getting so close, hooray! Good to hear you are getting some good sleep.

Kelli - Welcome! How far along are you?

Ok, gotta go and make some zucchini muffins and we have a playdate later.

I'll be back
Kristine :)

Hi ladies. I slept pretty good last night,.......wait....did I just say that? LOL

The staff is busy today w. labor & delivery. They have two LPN students,...so I've been having fun with them. Students are so eager to learn, and they've double teamed me. I've taught them how to use the glucometer machine & have gone over some target glucose levels and stuff. They've listened to my lungs and bowels. It's kinda fun. If I have a bowel movement,.....maybe I'll page them so they can come look at it. :p

Susan, I really like the pics of Kara that you put up (and your family). You're so good at keeping us on track.

Jen, I must have missed something......don't know why you were sleeping in Sheriff's office?

Krillie, I lurk too. I don't post when I'm super grumpy.

bbl!!!
