Muscle Max vs. Muscle Endurance

Hi everyone,

Wanted to get some input before I placed my big sale DVD order. I am finally getting Boot Camp, which I am super excited about, and it comes bundled with Muscle Endurance. I've also been looking at Muscle Max, but am wondering what the difference is between the two? Do you like one better than the other?

I'm not big into lifting heavy weights - I'm 5'3 and and build muscle easily in my legs - would you consider Muscle Max to be in that category? I have over a dozen Cathe DVDs that involve cardio or cardio/weights, but none that are strictly weights. I'm just not sure if I need both DVDs?

Thanks for everyones input!

Wow, a reply from the woman herself. Thanks Cathe! My legs bulk easily, so I'm always a little cautious when it comes to heavier weights, but I just might try it.

And anyone else who would like to give opinions, I'd love to hear them!

I'm 5'2, and my legs bulk very easily too, but I love Muscle Max. It's definitely more endurance based, even though it includes heavier weights. I say get it while you can!

First of all, of course I have to say GET BOTH if you can! ;)

But, Muscle Max is my all-time favorite Cathe total body workout. I personally would choose that over Muscle Endurance (if I had to choose), although I really like Muscle Endurance too. Like Cathe said, I find that I use heavier weights with Muscle Max than I do with Muscle Endurance, so it sounds like Muscle Endurance might be more of what you are looking for.

Either way, you can't really go wrong.

IMHO, ME is lighter weight, more reps. MM is medium reps, heavier weight but not heavy weight. I echo that you cant go wrong with either one.

Just cause I love to see people spend as much money as I do, are you getting High Reps??? It's a great lower weight workout.

Dela,

I'm still trying to decide on High Reps - it's so hard to hold back with such great prices!
Changing the subject just a bit, what are the differences between Muscle Max and High Reps and which does everyone like better between those two?

It's been a while since I have done MM, but they are nothing alike to me. High reps is one body part per song and lighter weights and some traditional and unique stuff mixed in, I like the format since I don't have anything else similar to it, MM felt more like heavier lifting, just a great full body workout, but more traditional, maybe a little less "fun" than High Reps. Best thing is to look at the clips to get a good feel for them.

Don't shoot me, but as long as you are looking, take a look at STS full body too! You are lifting heavier, but can certainly lighten the weights, but because of short breaks you get this cardio effect that you don't expect, I sweat buckets during this one. And there are some good premixes on STS, I have done 2 of them, and one of them even has some different exercises than in the original dvd. She uses the plates for some legs in this one too so you are not getting as much heavy lifting on the legs.

MM vs. ME

I have both of these. I think if you bulk up in the legs easily that Muscle Max might be the one better suited for you. Muscle Endurance is a great workout but it has a very very large amount of High Step presses, which for me can bulk out my legs. I did ME exclusively for awhile and this was my experience. That said, I love ME, but I just don't do it exclusively anymore. It is an excellent workout to rotate in.
Muscle Max has great leg work, but you can do it with light weights or even no weight.
Muscle Max is also one of my all time favorite weight dvds. That said, I have yet to find a Cathe workout that I absolutely hate.

My current weight favorite though is High Reps. It is really the bomb.
