Motivational Words for my Walls

DeanaMax

Cathlete
I decided to stencil motivational words/short phrases in my workout room. Anybody have any suggestions? I was thinking words like endurance... reach... etc. any suggestions are appreciated. cathe says lots of words of encouragement as does coach sean (cardio coach) but I can't recall anything off the top of my head.

In the 2nd challenge of CCV8 when Sean says It's doin' time!, I actually get goosebumps and I feel like I could tackle anything at that moment!

Ooh Deana, I was looking at putting a quote on my wall too!! You can get these cool decals that come in tons of different fonts and colors and they can say anything you want! (I'm totally not crafty, so 'stencil' is not in my vocabulary!) Here's a few of my favorites:

"A person's health can be judged by which they take two at a time - pills or stairs"

"Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person's physical, emotional, and mental states"

"To feel fit as a fiddle, you must slim down your middle"

"No matter who you are or what you do, you absolutely, positively do have the power to change"

"Living a healthy lifestyle will only deprive you of poor health, lethargy, and fat"

Here are some:

Believe
Do
Achieve
Endure
Strive
Excel
Dream
Inspire
Become
Engage
Stretch
Live
Breathe
Results
Push
Challenge

Short - Pain is weakness leaving the body
(That's actually my motto for childbirth!!)

Longer - (from a Nike ad)
Not everyone shows up
Because its hard
Your body is telling you not to
You are telling your body to shut up

Ive always been partial to Cathe's - you can cheat but you're only cheating yourself.

I also like Jari Love's - Shape that beautiful body of yours. I think, ya damnit, it is beautiful. It's not really but for that moment I believe!

Another one of Cathe's I like- I don't remember her exact words, but it's during the abs section of B&G. She's talking about not forcing your legs down further than you can comfortably go, but to "let it come gradually with hard work". I like that one when I'm working out super hard but feeling impatient with my progress at the moment.

That 'pick your hard' one is goooood!

Ooh ooh I also love CC's "peeling back the layers". It's so visual, it just makes you want to work even harder to be that physically strong and mentally disciplined person.

"If you aren’t going to go all the way, why go at all". –Joe Namath

"To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice your gift". –Steve Prefontaine

"Whatever you do now sets you up for later. And there's always a later." - Coach K

"Just do it" -Nike

I have these two on my walls: :)

“Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase."

(This one reminds me to be patient with my body and to have faith that I'm doing good things for myself.)

"Begin each day with a grateful heart."

(This one reminds me to resist the tendency to get frustrated with my limitations and instead be grateful for all the things I can do.)

I have a vision board (from The Secret) on the wall in my workout room (basement). I cut out phrases from magazines or typed up ones I heard and cut out pics of stong, fit women doing exercises I like to do. I put all of this on a poster board to make the vision board. I got the motivational pharses off the covers of magazines like Oxygen. Fitness, Shape and Self. Here are couple of other motivational quotes I got from my Weight Watchers leader- I put these all around the house.

Nothing that is worthwhile is ever easy. - Indira Ghandi

Who needs luck when you can achieve much more by persistence?

Some succeed because they are destined; others succeed because they are DETERMINED.

Those who want to be SUCCESSFUL will find a way.
Those who don't will find an EXCUSE.

If you have a dream, go for it.
No one is stopping you except yourself!

The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking places.

Take care of your body.
It’s the only place you have to live.

Winners don’t set limits, they set goals.

You don’t drown by falling in water.
You drown by staying there.

You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be.

He that have patience can have what he will.

Focus on eating healthfully rather than dieting. By concentrating on the process rather than the results, you are able to achieve success everyday.

Be not afraid of growing slowly;
be afraid only of standing still.

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think, we become.” Buddha

You can do anything for a minute
Work hard for 60 seconds and enjoy years of life
It's not what you do, but how you do
