Most Unfavourite Move ....

yeah. poo on the ponies. not into those. my body doesn't want to do 'em. flying angels don't seem to like klutzy me either. i'm w/ you on the pump repeaters. weird.

I'm with you on the sashays at the beginning of the step portion of MIC. It's almost like they're too slow or something.

I always feel like a dork doing FFAs too. And I don't mind scoops when you just stay facing forward, but when you turn them (like in RS), I feel like I'm just not doing them right.
 
Well, I'm right there with everyone on the MIC sashays. In fact, I've avoided that workout lately simply because I don't want to do them. Guess I need to come up with a substitute.

I don't necessarily dislike the ponies, but that's probably because I have never been able to do them, period, and have always subbed a step-kick when they show up.

But the triple-turnings drive me nuts. I can never ever get those right. I have to modify in order to get around the step and end up on the right lead.
 
Flying Angels are my least favorite.

I can't think of any other Cathe move I dislike as much.

I love the pump repeaters and I especially love Interval 4 in Imax 2 because of those.

Some of Cathe's moves are very difficult, but I don't dislike them the way I do those gruesome Flying Angels!

They just never feel "right" and I feel out of control.
 
Slap Claps on LowMax. I think there are too many, and they are boring to me. I also think I look really stupid doing them.....

On the other hand, I LOVE power scissors and squat thrust terminators!
 
I think mine is from Imax 3.. can't remember which interval exactly, but its the one where you turn sideways and do jumping jacks off the step in various tempos..

I just know I must look like at total spaz doing them, not to mention, I just can't land delicately.. the whole house quakes during that portion of the workout.

I hate the slap claps too. I don't like them in SJP either. They are annoying,

I love the pump repeaters. I love it when Cathe goes "boom, boom, boom". That's easy & fun.
 
Hey Sandra:) I stopped doing those blasted sashays a long time ago and substitue them with a two knee repeater rebound back, fits perfectly.

Another one I really dislike is from StepWorks right after the stretch, the outer thigh corner to corner then grapevine and shuffle to the other side, I can't for the life of me make this move work!x(

I think it's funny that so many don't like pump repeaters, I love them, feels great on the core,....vive la differance!

Don't care for the sa-shays in Body Max. I substitute Figure 8s instead! :) Hmmm...lets see, the uneven lunges she does in Circuit Max kick my butt! She always seems to do those when I'm exhausted and they go on forever! Not that that's a bad thing of course cuz it's a very GOOD thing!}(
 
Slam-its! Everyone else loves them, but I hate them. I love SB except for that move.

I also dislike those hammer lunge things mentioned above--kill my knees. I do them, just much more shallow.

I happen to like power scissors. :+
 
I too hate mambo cha cha's. They mess up the workout. I wish every instructor would do away with them. Why do others think these are so much fun??x( I have found fun modifiers though! I also hate any combos that utilize the top of the step, like hop turns and jumps. Why oh why?
 
I must be weird, I cannot think of any move in a Cathe cardio workout that I don't like. But then again, I was once one of those instructors who came up with the moves you love to hate, hate to love.:)
 
You all crack me up! I have to agree with so many of the things that everyone said:

I don't do flying angels - more just like a outer thigh lift on both sides.

When we do the scoop, I don't do the reverse scoop - just keep it to the front also.

I also don't do the pivot on the peg leg - also scared I will twist my knee weird.

I also hate those sashays ... I need to substitute something there; they seem awkward to me because of the tempo.

But I don't mind mambo cha-cha or the pump repeaters at all!

CATHE - forgive me for starting this thread! We all LOVE your workouts - after all, we're posting on your site!
 
Step sweep, pivot turn, diag basic in LowMax. No matter how many times I tried it I can never get it!

And, oh yeah flying angels..uhhh...

This is funny!
 
I think the ones I "hate" are the most boring, repetitive moves,like:

Sumos
jumping jacks off the step
ricochets
Flying Angels ( just make me feel unsteady )
pony moves
tuck jumps
airborne jacks
 
The moves I dislike are definitely the ponies (I think it's because I feel like I'm going to fall off the board). I can do the pegleg pivot turn but I don't feel like it does anything for me. It feels like a non-exercise move.

I absolutely love the flying angels, tuck jumps, and airborne jacks.
I also enjoy the sashas for the dancy feel.
I have a love/hate with the terminator thrust climbers. I love the majority of them but hate the last four and then love when they're over.
 
Lynn - IMax 3 interval 7 - my most dreaded interval, although it wasn't as hard this morning! (and I secretely like them - I'm weird).

SASHAY's - I look like a bad drag queen doing those. And the Flying Angels - I always feel like I'm just going to rotate off the step and hurt myself - or that I'm just going to continue to turn in circles like a defunct weather vane...

I'm not a fan of Slams. But I do have to confess I like the Terminators. I can't breath when I'm done, but that's why I work out... :)

My absolute least favorite move - the only one that really makes me groan when I think about doing it - DIPS!! I'm with Shelly (Limecat) who said that she keeps hoping Cathe will bring out some guacamole and chips. Hasn't happened - I do P90X too - Tony hasn't brought out any chips either, and I'm getting better at them - but ICK!!!
 
My least favorite moves are dynamic outer thigh and lunges off the narrow end of the step. Ricochets are tough, too.
I enjoy doing the cha-cha and mambos off the step. They break up the athleticism of some of the routines, and they're fun to me.

I can't stand "triples around the board"- I just trip all over myself. With "Slam its" and "shuffle down the board" I can't get out of my own way.
