***Melting away from Figgyville***

I just wanted to express my sincere thank you to LainieFig for allowing us a home away from home while Cathe's gang here was working on the new forums.

It helped feed my addiction :D

Hey Melters! Glad to be back in Catheland again.

Lainie, thank you SO MUCH for feeding our addiction during the downtime. ;)

Hi, Melters,
Wow -- I think these new forums intimidate me. Thanks a million, Lainie, for giving us all a home away from home. :)

Hi Kristi

Hi I sooo feel like a fish out of water,

I saw you here and I thought I would do my first post here and say hi!!!!

Missed you and all a lot but it is only a few days until Cathe Land!!!

Take Care All , Brigitte

You're all welcome for the temporary home in Figgyville. I don't know what I'll do with my little forum now. I guess I'll leave it up for now, since it's free after all. You never know when it will come in handy.

Hello Melters.
Thought I would stop in and say Hello. This is JT and now I have a avatar. Next stop is to find wallpaper.
Great to be back in the new improved forums.
Hope you all have a Great Night.

Jennifer-in-Mi AKA JT

Hi Jennifer--good to see you back with us!

Maybe we need to start a group of melters? I'm still figuring out all the ins and outs of the new forums.

Lainie -- I had the same thought, but I'll defer to you as one far more savvy than I at this kind of thing. In color, your quote stands out to me more -- have you read any of Anne Lamott's books? That seems like it would be a quote of hers. She also says something like this: "You know you've created God in your image when (s)he hates the same people you do."

Yep, I've read her Traveling Mercies book and I have Grace (Eventually) but haven't read it yet. I actually got that quote from some other random book (which I think was actually a novel but I don't know now what it was). I think the character in the novel was a rabbi or something and he said "tell Him your plans." I just adjusted it to "her" to give it a different punch (and had probably been reading Anne around that time as well).

I also have Grace, but haven't read it -- I've read Travelling Mercies (someone recommended it after Todd's cardiac arrest) and "Plan B: Further Thoughts on Faith." I like her stuff, although I don't think God is female. Have you read "Blue Like Jazz" (awesome!!!) or either of Rob Bell's books -- "Velvet Elvis" or "Sex God" -- also excellent!

I do have Blue Like Jazz but haven't finished it yet. Another favorite is Girl Meets God by Lauren Winner (which led to me becoming Episcopalian in a roundabout way).

I don't know that I'd say God is female, but I wouldn't say s(he) is male either. :) But he or she is way beyond my understanding, anyway.

OK, I just started a Social Group for us and I'm in the process of sending out invitations (hope I remember everyone). Then I'm going to bed because it is way late here!

Holy schmoly - I'm a little overwhelmed. Finally figured out how to get in, so that helps.

Hey - Grace (Eventually) is a WONDERFUL read. I really enjoy Anne Lamott's writing style.

That is the only "normal" thing I can say right now - gotta go poke around a little bit.

Hi everyone!

Hey melty pickles....

Wow. This is just weird, isn't it? It's going to take some getting used to, that's for sure.

Yesterday I managed to crank out CCPP after my friend left, even with a bellyful of artichoke and asiago dip on baguette slices ;) Today I'm doing an insane Crossfit workout that started this morning with three rounds (21 reps, 15 reps, 9 reps) of thrusters (barbell squat into overhead press with a 40 lb barbell), and three rounds (same reps) of pull-ups (I do the band ones from P90X). At noon, I'll do five rounds of REALLY heavy deadlifts (not the straight-legged Cathe kind; the bent knee kind) and five rounds of burpees with an overhead clap on the jump. Then to finish off, at around 4, I'll either run .5 miles on a steep incline or 1 mile flat.

WOW, Shelley! You go girl! I'm going to do GS Legs at some point today. Yesterday I did CM2 & SM! in addition to that long SB/SJP Premix.

I agree -- this is going to take some getting used to.
