MAY 2011 JOGGLERS!

Alisha - My father was a Marine and he was sent over and the family went along. It was only 2 years, but it was a fabulous experience! I was only 8, but I remember so much about our stay there!

Glad you got some rest today! I'm going for a run tomorrow too. My workouts have been messed up this week. Good thing it was rest week! I was going to do one of Cathe's kickbox workouts tonight, but Stephen was still trying to get the flatscreen mounted up high on the wall and needed my help. With a bit of effort and a couple of failed attempts - that sucker is heavy! - we finally got it up and on the mount. It was almost 7 pm by the time we were done, so I fed the kiddos, then we fixed some salmon and steamed green beans for dinner.

My legs, adductors and obliques are STILL sore today! I think worse than yesterday, too! Definitely need to keep a run or two in the mix on a more regular basis! Wowie!

Hi Jane and Lisa!

Hi Everyone!

My sister went outside today and did running intervals down the block. We ran intervals 10 times with 30 seconds break in between. Then we took the 15# medicine ball and did running leap frog med ball tosses. I toss the ball, sis runs after it, she tosses, then I run after it. We did this for at least 2 blocks. At the corners, we did 10 med ball slams each. On the way back, one of us got to rest and the other had to hold the ball over the head while walking. We switched half through, then more leap frog tosses. We finished it off with med ball sit ups and one more run down the block. At hot and sweaty workout.

Alisha ~ Enjoy your rest day. Let me know how you like Kick Max. I have KPC but I don't have Kick Max

Tricia ~ I'm sure you got a workout holding that flatscreen. Good job. My obliques are killing me right now. I also feel them after a long run.

Hi Lisa!!

Jane- That does sound like a hot & sweaty workout.

Tricia- I think installing TVs is a workout.

I did the low impact timesaver premix, which was 48 min. It included some of the leg conditioning drills. It was fun. I'm glad I got it. The leg drills are not easy. If done all at once, its a very long workout, coming in at well over an hour. It is somewhat similar to 4DS kick box.

Tomorrow will be Circuit Blast. Saturday will be another run/walk/run. I'm working the 3/1 ratios this week.

Hi ladies!

Jane - Nice workout that one!

Alisha - I almost did Kick Max tonight but didn't want the extra 15 minutes! I always do them straight through when I do one of Cathe's. I ended up doing Cardio Kicks! I have to say it was hard to get through because my calves are still sore from Monday's run! So are my adductors! I can't remember staying so sore for so long after a run!

Finally got a workout in since Monday! Tomorrow I'm definitely running again. The weather has been icky this week. Cold and damp, cloudy, but no rain. Bleh. I hate spring in New England.

Here's the workout I did tonight. Lots of fun but I still got gnats swarming around my head, even with spraying. Yikes...hope we get some rain soon. I can't remember the gnats being so bad.

5 Rounds of:
5x American Swings
5x KB Clean and Squat, right
5x KB Clean and Squat, left
10x KB Russian Twist

5 Rounds of:
5x Box Jumps
5x Walking Swings
5x Roundhouse Kicks (5 each side)

5 Rounds of: 5x KB/DB Push Press, right
5x KB/DB Push Press, left
5x KB/DB Lunges, right
5x KB/DB Lunges, Left
5x Planks Stack walkovers

Alisha ~ I'm glad you enjoyed Kick Max. It sounds like a fun workout.

Tricia ~ I'm happy you got a workout in. I'm sorry the weather has been horrid by you. It's been sunny, warm and dry here but we are due for some rain on Saturday.

Hi Lisa!

Hi Jane! Ugh, gnats! I certainly don't miss those little buggers! Did you get a little extra protein during your workout? I could almost kill for a little sunshine and temps back in the low 70s! We've dropped back down into the 50s during the day and 40s at night. Man, we have such a short summer! It'll start warming up in June, but still not be warm enough for real summer clothes and the beach until July, then we have August and it cools down again in September! Hate that! It looks like we won't be moving anywhere where the summers are longer for quite a while though. Oh, well, will just have to visit when it's cold up here!

Have a great night!

stalling

I have to take another 5 hour practice test today. So, of course, I'm on the internet. I'm still planning on Circuit Blast this afternoon. I also see chore max in my future.

Tricia- You can visit us for more summer. After next week (3-4 more days of rain.) we should see nothing but sun until the end of October. Did I mention, blistering sun?? Yeah.

Jane- When I was living in FL we had a real problem with the love bugs. They would do their thing everywhere.

TGIF!

Here's my workout for today. Less gnats but it was cloudy and breezy today.

100 Squats
12 Pushups, 12 KB swings, 200M run

80 Squats
16 pushups, 16 kb swings, 200m run

60 Squats
20 pushups, 20 kb swings, 200m run

40 Squats
24 pushups, 24 kb swings, 200m run

20 Squats
28 pushups, 28 kbs, 200m run

Alisha ~ We have love bugs here too but they have not been around this year. We usually see them in the spring and fall. Actually they used to be really bad when I first moved here. My car windshield would be splattered with them and I'd get them in my hair but the last couple of years they have not been as bad.

How did your practice test go today?

Tricia ~ Well...I could always do with more protein. LOL!! No worries about the weather...I'm a Northern girl at heart so I can handle the cold!

Hi Lisa!

Evening ladies!

Alisha - I wish I could take you up on that offer! Hope your practice test went well! If you also managed to get a workout in, I'll be impressed!

Jane - Do you do your squats with KBs or body weight only? I remember love bugs! OMG! Yep. had to clean the windshield at least once a day if you wanted to see where you were going!

This afternoon turned out beautiful! 72 and sunny with just a slight chill in the wind - yes, it's always windy here, so you're always fighting in on a run! I did 3.25 miles in 31:34 today! Woot! I tried to zig zag through a neighborhood, but I kept running into dead ends and had to backtrack to get on the main road I had started out on, so I finished my run before I was back at office and my car. I decided to run some sprints instead of walking the whole way, so I did about 6 more minutes of 30 sec sprints w/60 sec rest. Burned another 57 calories for a total of 309. Yep, that's it. Almost 4 miles and barely 300 cals. Is my body efficient now or what? I remember the days when I could burn 500-600 easy in an hour of Cathe cardio or 350 calories for 3 miles! i only hit 252 cals on the main run.

If the weather holds, we're going to take a nice bike ride tomorrow! If not, I'll do another Cathe cardio.

Have a great Friday night!

Tricia- If you want the extra cal. burn, put on your weighted vest and remember to add the weight to your body weight on your hrm. It works like a charm.

Jane-The practice test was ok. I had the same total score as last week but I got better in one section and not as good in the other:p

I'm planning on a late afternoon jog/walk/jog. Its cooling off. The forecast threatens four days of rain. Well, I know what to do with four days! 4DS, its a perfect fit:p

Alisha - I don't know why I hadn't thought about that! Duh! Funny how your score will shift in one area to another on those tests! Kept happening to Stephen when he did his practice tests for the GMAT.

We're supposed to get a few days of rain as well this coming week, but it works out great since I'll be back indoors with STS and Turbo Fire anyway!

Enjoy your joggle this afternoon!

I'm taking a rest day. I'm sore from Circuit Blast (last Friday). Inner thighs are screamin'. I only did a 3.5 mile hike yesterday (at pace w/hills.) It has gotten sooo cold. Its snowing just up the hill. Burrr..

Tricia-Enjoy TF.

Snow!? This year is going to feel like perpetual winter by the time summer actually gets here! Hope it warms up a bit for you soon! My inner thighs are still a bit sore from running last week and I only did 2 runs! STS Meso 2 starts tomorrow! Can't wait!

Hi Jane and Lisa! Do you think Cindi will ever get back to visit us?

Where did this weekend go? I can't believe it's Sunday afternoon already!!

Yesterday I was running errands with mom and then doing my own errands. I did do the upper body portion of High Reps yesterday afternoon. My triceps are screaming right now.

This morning was a 8 mile run. The weather was beautiful!!! Then I came home and worked for a hour in the yard planting a couple of shrubs.

Alisha ~ I hope you are enjoying your rest day! Sorry about your test but at least you didn't do any worse. :p

Snow...yikes...I hear Chicago is getting really yukky weather. I remember the year I moved, we had snow in May!!!

Tricia ~ The workout on Friday night were body weight squats but I tried to go really low on them. I don't use weight if I do a high rep workout. I wouldn't be able to complete it otherwise.

Hi Lisa.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

I think I will go for a jog/walk/jog in about 45 minutes. It was too cold first thing in the morning. Its supposed to rain again this afternoon, so I don't want to wait too late.

Jane-I have no idea where that weekend went either.

Tricia-I always get sore in the hip area from runs. I used to get sore in the calf, less so now.

I forgot to post yesterday. Here is the workout I did last night.

Fran Plus
100 Jump Rope
30 Squats
100 Jump Rope
30 Push ups
100 Jump Rope
30 Med Ball Slams

Then
21-15-9

Thrusters
Pull ups

It was been very cool lately - the morning temps are in the 50's and 70's during the day. It feels so good and the a/c isn't running all the time.

Alisha ~ My hip has been bothering me some too although it feels better when I do my foam rolling.

Hope you got your run in yesterday.

Hi Tricia and Lisa.

I will be back later with my workout for today.

Hi ladies,
I took annual leave this week and am spending it at the beach with my bro-in-law and his family. Yesterday and today its HorseMax. We have eight new horses at the barn so I'm spending lots of time getting them out and into the swing of things. Of course, I rode Chip yesterday and am getting some good dog walks in too.

I'm not loving Cathe the Company at the moment and honestly wouldn't check in except for our little check in group. I am interested in some of the new workouts though.

Jane and Alisha - I have problems with my hips too (chronic bursitis). Yoga helps me a lot.

Tricia - How are you enjoying TurboFire?

Lisa

Hi ladies!

Jane - The weekend did go by way too fast - as usual! :( I'm so glad you're having beautiful weather right now! We did last year, but looks like and extended winter for us. I . . . am . . . not . . . happy. Hope your hip is better!

Alisha - I hope you were able to get your joggle in before it rained today!

Lisa - Wow! 8 new horses! You'll have a lot to keep you busy this week! Enjoy the time off. Sorry Cathe Co. is causing you grief. I'm so glad to have the downloads now! With how fast DVD formatting is changing and players, I would be really upset if the money I spend on them went to waste because within 6 months I couldn't play them anymore!

I am loving Turbo Fire! Chalene is fabulous! She's uber-motivating, highly energetic and the program is challenging. Yes, she puts some dancy stuff in there, but not much really. I just do it the best I can and laugh! Burns cals just trying to do the pump moves! lol I love the kickboxing moves and how low she gets you for punches to really work the legs and get that HR up! The HIIT workouts are great too! Those really work me out! I haven't done the sculpt DVD yet since I'm just using it for my cardio right now, but I'm sure it'll be a worker too. I still need to get the bonus DVDs that go with it, but I'm waiting for now. I have enough to keep me going for a little while!

STS Meso 2 started yesterday and man I had forgotten how much work those drop sets are! I think that's part of why I was so tired today! Chest, shoulders and trceps are all sore today!

Have a great night everyone! We won't see the sun for several more days. :( I'm so ready for summer.

I did get a joggle yesterday. Today, I did laundry max. My Mom was up all night with vomiting and so I took a rest day. (I stayed up with her.) I took my Dad to Sizzler and had fried shrimp for dinner. It was good. Tomorrow will be 4DS, either the LIS or HIS step premix. I want to go for a joggle in the afternoon, but I don't think I can because of work.

Lisa- 8 new horses! Whoa. . .Nellie?:p

Tricia- If I get a permanent job (crossing my fingers that I get that nursing home job.) I might get TF for Christmas.

Jane-Maybe I should get one of those foam roller thingys.

Good Afternoon,

I took a rest day yesterday.

Today I doing running intervals 15x 30 seconds rest. Then I will tack on some other things...maybe swings and abs. I haven't figured it out yet. My hip is feeling much better.

I hate to say it (Tricia) but the weather has been beautiful here. It was 50 degrees this morning and it's been in the 70's during the day. Of course things are warming up quickly and we'll be back in the 90's by the weekend.

Lisa ~ So happy to see you checking in. I hope you are enjoying your week and having fun with the horses and doggies. We just booked a week at the beach in late August. I can't wait!! Sorry you are having problems with Cathe and Co.

Alisha ~ If you can, invest in a foam roller. They are only about $20 and worth every penny. It fixed my IT band problem and really helps in stretching out the hip flexor. I only roll a couple of minutes a day and it really helps (although sometimes I forget to roll).

Tricia ~ I'm glad you are lovin' TurboFire. OK...right now I am sending you sunshine and warm temperature...really....I blowing it all up North. :)

Later Gators!
