Mass. Voters

I think this election is the proverbial mountain made out of a molehill. It's not a big deal. Really it isn't. It wasn't a landslide victory, Dems still have an 18 seat majority in the Senate & are PRAYING Brown goes for a filibuster (what Senator ever looked good filibustering, other than Mr. Deeds?).

Brown ran a spectacular campaign, Coakley ran a pathetic campaign, whenever legislators try to effect a major change of course it will piss people off. We're a country of moderates, regardless of party. Big things scare people.

FWIW, most Dems don't support the current HC bill either. Because it doesn't go far enough. It's an absurdity to require unemployed and/or low income people to purchase insurance. Passing something for the sake of passing something is just politics as usual. IMO the whole thing should be scrapped & divided into 2 separate bills. Get the health care industry regs taken care of first, get the insurance issues worked out--and worked out CORRECTLY--second.

On another (nonpartisan) note, does anyone else find it incredibly ironic that someone like Carrie Prejean (not that I'm a fan) loses her crown for posing nekkid, & Scott Brown wins one? ;)

I agree with you for the most part. But, Carrie Prejean lost her crown because she wouldn't fulfil her contractual obligations, i.e. not showing up for events, etc. not for posing naked. That naked stuff and sex tapes came out later when she was trying to promote her book. That being said, can you imagine if there was a picture of Obama naked, oh how the right would scream.

On another note

and this is non partisan. . .

I just read where John Edwards FINALLY admitted that he was the father of the baby by Reilly whatever her name and that he and his wife have separated.

I feel so bad for Elizabeth Edwards and their children.

The man is - well - an ignorant slut. I hope she takes him to the cleaners.

B.O. naked?? This Con certainly wouldn't scream but the gag reflex would certainly be tested!

No, the Rightie talkers would definitely scream about a naked Obama pic. Whether the gag reflex would kick in is a matter of taste. Many people, including me, think the President is a good looking man. That being said, I don't as a rule like to see men naked (except my hubbie, of course). Boy, are we off topic here.

OK then, insert the name of any other *ahem* beauty queen that lost her crown for a nude pic. ;)

C'mon now Dawn. Don't let your partisan viewpoints get in the way of logic. The president is a very attractive man. If I can admit it about Brown, you can admit it about Obama!

Hey, I just read that Mark Sanford wasn't gonna apologize again for taking his mistress to the tropics while his wife stayed home trying to cover for his cheating a$$. Hmmmm, what kind of nasty name can I come up with for him? :p

I am definitely getting old. Seeing a naked man, no matter how good looking he is, just doesn't excite me.

Now that ladies, I admit myself, is pathetic!

Ah I remember that. There've been others too. But as it turns out, we can leave Prejean's name in. http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/05/05/california.miss.california/index.html

Buffy, REALLY? Not me. As long as they're in relatively good shape, anyway. ;)

As I recall, after to topless photo incident Trump made a big show of letting her keep her crown. After that she started slacking off and not showing up for gigs and that's when she got canned.

You know, I really don't think men look that great naked with all their bits hanging out. Now a buff man in bathing trunks, that's a different story.

I especially feel badly for his daughter. Imagine how she's going to feel when she grows up and finds out that her father refused to acknowledge her as his daughter. :(

Not to hijack the thread but that is NOT pathetic! Sex means nothing without love, if you don't love the guy why should his nakedness do anything for you? It wouldn't do anything for me either.;)

Appreciating the human body isn't necessarily about sex! Hey, painters and sculptors have been creating art based on the human form for centuries.

And even if it IS about sex, so what? That's what fantasy is all about.

I respectfully disagree. Sex means SOMETHING without love. Maybe different things to different people, but still, SOMETHING. :D

Sorry

B.O. just does not do it for me. There is nothing attractive about him. Too lanky - I need some beef. Now here is something pathetic - John Edwards had my tongue waggin all the way back in 2001. Now - no thanks.

Well - I am glad this thread took a turn for the better - sort of . . .

And sex just for the sport of it would not cut it nowadays for me. Gotta have love or *yawn* . . .

That crap is for your twenties.

Unless of course you spent your twenties as I did: chubby, bespectacled, pimply and with a "do" that unfortunately resembled the tight plastic hair of those Playskool Little People. In those days I'd have taken 'em with love, without love, lean, beefy, tall, short, with a green card, without a green card, just out of prison, job optional. Hell, pulse optional!

Thankfully, things have improved. :D
