We are going to DC for the MCM in October!!!!!

WOO-HOO!!!

DH will be running his first full marathon ever (he has done some halves) and I will be running the 10K! This will be my first race EVER! Bypassed all the 5Ks just because of timing or the fees being too high for a 5K, etc.

This is going to be epic! I'm so excited!

Anyone else going?
 
Good for you. I am in total awe and go into total Wayne's World "I'm not worthy" mode when I hear of you gals that can do a marathon in any shape or form. The most I've ever run is 11 miles. :(
 
Janie - 11 miles is nothing to sneeze at! I've still only done 7.8, but it's more than enough for a 10K! I'm starting there and next year, who knows . . .
 
Congrats!! MCM was my first marathon and what a great one it was! You and your DH will love it!:)
 
My DH is running the Army 10 miler (or MCM) in DC in October. I am trying to get in;) they filled up in less the 24 hours:( He wants me to run the race with him!

Congrats! You gonna be fine! Maybe I will see you!

Belinda - We were nervous too because everyone we knew who had done it or tried to get in talked about how fast it fills up! I'm waiting until May 5th, I think, which is when the 10K opens up for registration. Hope you get in!

We'll have to try and coordinate to at least meet to say hi! Are you two going to the Dining In the night before?

Tricia, I just relized the Army 10 miler and the MCM are two different races. The Army 10 miler is on Oct 24, the MCM is Oct 31. The Army 10 miler is sold out:( Maybe I can work something out with DH to stay a few more days in DC:p this way at least I can run the race( MCM) officially. Do you live in DC?

Tricia, this sounds lovely! I hope to do a half in October and I'm doing a 10K in about 3 weeks. How great that you get to do it with your husband! I'm so in awe of anyone that can do a marathon, and ultra marathoners leave me breathless. You guys are both so completely going to rock it!

Oh! I didn't realize they were run separately!

We don't live in DC. We're staying with a friend of mine while we're there. She immediately offered us a place to stay! We'll be going down from RI. I'd love it if you could stay and run the 10K with me! That'd be so awesome! Registration opens on May 5th for that - just in case!

You're going to blow that 10K away! I hope to just not come in last in my 10K! :eek: Last year's winners ran the 10K in the time it takes me to run about 4 miles! :eek:

Thanks Travis! Same to you in your Oregon run! There are so many Cathlete runners that Cathe ought to sponsor an annual Cathletes Marathon as well as the RT!

No sweat Michele! It's a long way off still and you know, I'll be posting my training results through my Nike sensor for all the world to see! LOL!
