Lurker Invitations Check-In, January

Hi Sprom!

How is the weather in Duluth? There is a terrible snow storm here. Everyone that lives out of town left early. Just a couple townies left to close the place up!

I have been curious about the CLX, you'll have to keep us posted about how you like it!

Tracy

Good Evening,

I wanted to ask you, some people will have a new thread everyday with the date at the end, instead of monthly. If we do it monthly it might get to be very long threads, but you only have to go to the last page and start posting again. What would you like to do?

Will talk with you all tomorrow. Have great workouts everyone.

Janie

Hi Everyone,

Janie: I was thinking about this as well today. I'm fine with daily or monthly threads so whatever works best for everyone i'll go along with.

Tracy (tlstot) & Sprom: Welcome and Nice to meet both of you!

Ramona: I love lentil soup! The lentil/barley combo sounds like a perfect soup for a cold winter day. We are expecting a snow storm here in Toronto tomorrow so i wish i had a pot of that on my stove! I may just have to whip up my own Lentil soup tomorrow.

Tracy: How is your little one doing?

I really did not feel like working out today but went and read a couple of blogs and motivated myself to do it. I did the Timesaver # 1 premix on HSC. This was my first time doing HSC and it's a thorough workout. I'm glad i did it.

I also hopped on the scale this morning and it looks like i'm down a couple of pounds since i weighed in on Jan 2. I'm thinking i need to invest in a digital scale. I have the "oldschool" kind and it's kind of hard to read sometimes.

See you all tomorrow!

Elle

Good Evening,

Spron, Welcome aboard! Between CLX and Cathe, my you have it all covered. I have Chalean's Turbo Jam workouts (which all are great), but I must say, I've been hearing fantastic things about her workouts. I'll start with STS, since I've ordered it, then thinking about purchasing CLX. You enabler you.;) Indulge away. Very nice meeting you.

Tracy (tlstot), I'm with you on the CLX series, as you can see. Wish I could afford it now, but I know in the near future, I'll get it.

Elle, I'll leave the thread the way it is then, unless someone would like it changed. Thanks for your input.

Went off the wagon today (my rest day). Literally had a war between myself and lost. Too many calories injested. Thank goodness there is a fresh day tomorrow. Gosh Darn It! I've been trying to analyze it, and all I could figure out is not enough sleep. I went to bed around 12:00am as usual, but had a lot of coffee during the day, thinking that's why I couldn't sleep. The last time I looked at the clock it was 6:00am. Finally went to sleep, and the phone woke me at 9:00am. Went back to sleep and got up at just before 10:00am. Insomnia:mad:. Was not myself all day, and normal everyday things that don't mean a lot made me upset. Went to food (I think) for comfort. Will do better tomorrow, I'm certain.

See you tomorrow, and you too Tracy, Shadowpup and Ramona.

Have a great evening everyone.

Janie

Good Morning All!

Yeah, this format works for me! We'll have to see how it goes!

Yesterday's workout went as planned; GS Chest and Tri's and then Imax 3. I burned 560 some calories. My tri's are a touch sore this moring :) YES!

How were everyone else's workouts?

Tracy, Has the baby gotten better?

Janie I have Turbo Jam too! I love that. Darn it I want CLX too!

BBL

Tracy - It was -15 degrees when I walked the dog this morning. No wind though so it could have been a lot worse.

Janie - I love the Turbo Jam workouts. I am really enjoying the CLX workouts so far. I did Cardio Burn 1 yesterday and Burn it off! this morning. So far, so good. They seem a bit short though for full body weight workouts but I'm going to keep an open mind.

Have a great day All!

Sarah

Sprom- That's COLD! But you are right wind makes it incredibly worse! Keep us posted on the CLX!

Tonight I plan on doing ME-Lower body split and then either Amy Bento ASC 2 or Low Max, not sure yet though.

Todays meals:

1-Protein Shake with skim milk
2- Oatmeal
3- 3 eggs
4-turkey patty
5- Protein Shake with Skim Milk
WORKOUT
6- Prob...Chicken breast, veggies ect. to get me up to about 1500 cals

What are everyone's goals?

Mine are to lose fat for now and maintain muscle mass.

Good Afternoon,

Just getting ready to do Total Sculpting twice again. Will try for heavier weight. My eating is in control so far today. Yeah!:D

Tracy Lynn, 560 calories burned is fantastic. Way to go! Your meals look very healthy.

Sarah, 15 degrees, Berrrrrrrr. Enjoy your new DVD's, you seem to be right on top of it. How short are they? Less than 45 min.?

Elle, Isn't it a great feeling not wanting to do a workout but then did it anyway? Good for you, I'm proud of you for doing that. Makes me inspired. Congratulations on the pounds lost. Yeah!:D

Hi Tracy (how is your boy?), Shadowpup and Ramona,

Janie

Hi, I hope I am not to late to join in, it looks like a great group of lurkers here! LOL! I have been lurking for a few months now and would love to join your group.

I live in Colorado in the Mountains west of Boulder, cold and snowy here today. I am fairly new to Cathe but I love her weight work out and I am seeing results in toning up. I to have been up and down on that scale and although I consider myself fairly fit I am still a big girl and would love to tone up and lose weight. I am ready to lose the weight because it seems ridiculous to work out so hard and not show it!

I need to really clean up my eating and I am curious about the concept of clean eating which I have read a little about on cathe.com. Today is my rest day.

Hi Lubadose - Welcome! I found Tosca Reno's book The Eat Clean Diet book to be very helpful and informative. A friend of mine bought me a copy right after I bought my own. I'd be happy to send you my extra. If you'd like it, just send me a pm:D

Janie - The CLX weight workouts are about 35 to 40 minutes long. The cardio vids with the basic kit are 30 and 45 minutes each.

Have a great evening!

Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone's day went well.

LADUBOSE: Welcome and nice to meet you!

TLSTOT: My goal is to lean out and tone up right now.

JANIE: Good work getting the eating back under control today. I constantly struggle with this!

SPROM: I had heard others mention the CLX workouts were short. I'm interested in what your results will be after using them for a few weeks. Keep us updated!

Today was my yoga day. For the time being i'm alternating yoga days with Cathe days. My practice went well today.

I'm very happy to report that my diet is still under control. I'm not being super strict so i have allowed small treats here and there. For now, i think this will help me to stay on track. Later on i may decide to tighten things up further but for now this keeps me from obsessing too much about what i'm eating.

See you all tomorrow.

Elle

Good Evening,

Ladubose, Welcome aboard, you are never too late to join. I love Colorado! My Joey and I visit there every so often when we travel. The mountains are glorious. Enjoy your rest day, sounds like you deserve it. Clean eating to me is fresh fruits and veges, beans, grains, and lean, lean meet. I don't eat cow, but I do eat (as little as possible) chicken. Fish and seafood are great. That's about it in a net shell. I'm sure someone else may have an opinion also.

Elle, Great approach on the way to stay in control of calorie intake. Hmmmm, I may take your way of thinking and apply it when I need to. Thanks so much for sharing that.

Sarah, I have the Tosca Reno book. It's a great way to eat clean. CLX, it keeps poping up everywhere. One of these days I will have it in my hot littlw hands. Enjoy the series.

Hi to Tracy (thartman), Shadowpup, Ramona, and Tracy Lynn. ;)

I have to go to court tomorrow and see if I will be picked for jury duty. If the process picks me, it will be some experience. I've never gone this far before.

Janie

Good morning All,

Elle - Nice to hear that you've got your diet under control. That is the one thing I struggle with. I can do workouts all day long and I eat pretty healthy about 80 to 85% of the time but I LOVE sweet treats. I usually enjoy in moderation but sometimes sitting on the couch eating half a package of double stuff Oreos dunked in milk is just what the doctor ordered;)

My workout for this morning was Burn Circuit #2. I normally get up and walk my dog for my warm up and when I saw that the temperature was 40 degrees below zero with the windchill I went back to bed and snuggled under the nice warm quilt. I'll get to it after work today.

Hope everyone has great days!

Good Morning ALL!

Yestday was ME-Lowerbody and a Mix from Amy Bento's ASC 2. I burned 660 cal! Yowza!
(I just got this hear-rate monitor for Christmas and I'm loving it!)

It's SUPER COLD here today my pickup barely started this morning to go to work.

Laudabose: Welcome! Clean eating to me is pretty much what Janie described. I would also add some low fat dairy, such as cottage cheese and skim milk :)

Janie: Jury Duty! That might be kinda exciting!

Elle: Good job with the good eating! What does your menu look like?

Sprom: UHHH! I looked at CLX last night and was sooo close to ordering it! But I am going to wait... couple of months in my HOT HANDS too!

I hope everyone has a wonderful HUMP day!

Good Evening,

Tracy Lynn, When you are posting there are B I U which stand for Bold, Italic and Underline. There is the word Fonts where you can change your fonts to, Sizes where you can change the size of your text and A where you can change the color of your text. There are also smilies you can add to your posts. The others, I'm not sure of. You'll need to experiment with them. Hope that helps. Wow, 660 calories burned, you worked hard didn't you?

Sarah, 40 degrees below zero, Holy Molly! I don't blame you for not wanting to walk the dog.

They let us Jurors leave because we weren't needed, but to call tonight to see if we are needed again this week.

Hi to the rest of yas, talk again tomorrow

Janie

Hi Everyone,
This check-in is definitely helping me stay on track. I taught a yoga class tonight and when i got home i really did not feel like doing much. I knew if i sat down it would be game over so i said hi to DH got some water and went and did LoMax premix intervals 1-4. I feel great now.

Janie: I love today's "yoga avatar". I'm always looking forward to see what you'll come up with. Aren't you relieved you got out of Jury duty for now at least or did you want to get selected?

Tlstot & Sprom: It was -40 degrees here today too. My car was freezing this morning and the gears were all stiff.

Tlstot: I really struggle with eating so i'm trying to just allow everything in moderation so i don't feel deprived since i'm a bit of a junk food junkie. I'm also vegetarian so here is an example of what i'm eating:

M1 - Oatmeal with blueberries OR cereal OR english muffin with PB (I LOVE PB!)

M2 - some sort of fruit with some yoghurt with a pack of "thinsations" 100 calorie cookies

M3 - Lentil soup OR rice with chick peas & veggies OR hummus with pita OR salad

M3 - LUNA bar or Larabar & grapes or an apple with PB

M4 - vegetarian maki rolls or something like M3

If i really want some cookies, chocolate, chips etc...I have a "normal portion". If i crave takeout food, I'm telling myself to just wait until Saturday and for lunch have whatever fast food i want and then get back on track for the rest of the day. As it turns out all last week i planned on eating a Lick's Nature burger & fries. When Saturday came i really didn't feel like eating that at all so i ended up having a veggie & cheese sub.

Ladubose, Tracy, Ramona, & Shadowpup: I hope you all had a great day as well.

Keep up the great work everyone and see you tomorrow.

Elle :)

Good Morning!

Last night was GS-Shoulders and LowMax. I burned 460-some cals. I was SHOCKED! I thought I would burn a heck of a lot more with LowMax. I guess it has gotten easier, though.

It was FREEZING again this morning and literally 20 BELOW zero! YUCK! Last day hopefully according to the weatherman!

Tonight I am starting a physiology class in Sioux Falls, SD. I have to drive 1.5 hours! Oh, well. It will be worth it. I am doing a career change from Agronomy to Nursing. So, I'm excited. My family lives around that area so I am going to watch my brother play bball tonight too.

When I finally get home, I will do GS back and Bi's and then a turbo jam.

ELLE- I can't imagine 40 BELOW! You must free if your outside over a minute!

JANIE- I must be blind because I don't see those options for posting.

Hi to everyone else!!!

Have a great day!

Good morning All,

Janie - I have not ever been called up for jury duty. I'm sure it's very interesting.

Elle, I noticed you mentioned Larabars in your post. I LOVE them. I just discoved Larabars a few months ago and now I can't get enough of them. I'm a big fan of the cashew cookie flavor.

Tracy Lynn - The GS series is my favorite from Cathe. I used it quite a bit last summer and saw some nice results.

Today was Burn Circuit #2 from CLX in the a.m.(was suppose to be yesterday but just didn't get to it). Whew!! Those compound moves really got me this morning.

Hope everyone has a great day and STAY WARM:)

Hi Everyone!
You guys are really motivating me to clean up my diet! I bought The Eat Clean Diet Cookbook from Tosca Reno yesterday and I am going to browse through it latter today.

Yesterday I did a hike in the foothills of Boulder, I burnt 451 cals, I have a beloved heart rate monitor too Tracy! I got a little light headed due to the fact that I had a blood test yesterday that drew over 16 viles. The nurse said she had never down that many tubes on a woman without having to change viles before. It must be because of all that hard lifting with Cathe, huh? I am sure you have noticed the size of her veins before!

Today is a snow shoe with a friend and Pyramid Style Upper Body. I have been slacking lately due to a bought of insomnia, hard to work out when you are totally bonked!

What is CLX anyways?? I am hoping to upgrade my Cathe Library soon.

How many of you have pre-orded STS? I wasn't thinking of getting that series yet but maybe I should.
