LOST

Not back til January? Are you kidding me?????? That is so unfair!

I forgot it was the 2 hour finale and only saw the last hour. Did I miss anything in the first hour?

I too think it was sad about Charlie.:( And for some reason my first thought was that it was Sawyer in the casket and don't know why.

What happened that was so darn bad that Jack has turned to drugs? It's like he doesn't care about anything at all - wonder why??? Maybe it is Juliette in the casket - that would explain his behavior now.

Jeez - if it doesn't come back til January, are they gonna just show re-runs in the fall? I mean, heck, we'll all forget what happened by then.

Well, Locke and the guy with the eye patch ESPECIALLY just will not die! That makes me think...there is something special about Locke, eye patch man, and the guy/others dude with the dark hair that recruited Juliette. Did you notice in the flashback with Ben as a child, that the dark haired guy was in it and there wasn't any change in age? I am thinking...some kind of aliens. I'll bet that is where they are going with this. Remember the 4 toed statue?

Don't know WHAT to make of the "flash forward" in the season finale.

I literally cannot believe that there will not be anything til January!!!!

Oh no, not that four toed statue! I wonder if the writers even knew what they were doing with that idea...it seems so completely off track of everything that I wonder if that is ever going to get answered.

I think Charlie and Mikail are both dead now, and they are finished with the show.

And what about that smoke?????? What is the reason behind that stuff??

Are you referring to where Charlie first entered the underground station? I thought it was smoke at first too, but I think it was just a reflection from the water below.

Yup - if eye patch guy can survive the last jolt, I don't think anything will kill him! Maybe he's really a cat with 9 lives - 3 gone now.

I was thinking maybe time stands still on the island, but Ben grew up there so I guess that doesn't make sense. But you're right, the guy that recruited Juliette hasn't aged - I had forgotton about that. A time distortion thing might have something to do with the others wanting the kids and have something to do with the reason the babies die if they are conceived on the island.

After seeing Walt, I wondered myself what happened to Michael. Didn't he die? I can't remember anymore. There's so many threads to this thing that's it's hard to remember it all. I'm still trying to figure out the polar bear in the jungle and the black smoke thing in the forest. I think it will be nearly impossible to explain this whole thing without an ending that will be a complete downer. I hope I'm wrong about that.

Anyone know why there is going to be such a long hiatus?

I meant the black smoke thing in the jungle, and the polar bear thing as well.

I just watched it again and I noticed a few things. I couldn't make out the name on the obit that Jack was reading, but the first name was very short, like maybe 3 letters..( Ben, perhaps?) I know that makes no sense, but nothing on this show is as it seems...alright I am reaching, but who else has a really short name. I also think it was a male for some reason, and obviously someone who was destitute.
Secondly, I noticed Kate is not wearing a wedding ring, so whoever "he" is, is not her husband. Maybe her son???

I think Mikail is really dead this time, I just couldn't take it if he came back again.

If you think about it, very few of these people really did well in their lives off of the island. Most of them should stay there.

What did Jack mean when he told Kate he was tired of the "lies"??? I have a feeling there is alot that took place on the island leading to their rescue that no one knows about.

I still have a hard time with Charlies' demise, and Hurley is going to be devastated as well as Claire, obviously.
Are he and Kate still dating in real life?

Well, the polar bears escaped from those cages. I think darma was once doing experiements on them in those cages that the others kept Sawyer and Kate in. In the answers hour, they used the word manifestation a lot so I beleive Walt was a manifestation, maybe conjured up by Jacob? Also they talk about the island being able to get into people's minds to a certain degree and manifesting Jack's father for example. Personally, I think their lives were so screwed up that they should just stay on the island b/c it's like they all have a second chance...tee hee! I almost feel like they will all be doomed to miserable lives if they get back to "reality."

I think you're right. Everyone seems to be better off now than they were in real life....except Charlie. Actually, most of them are living their dreams:
Sun - having a baby with her hubby whom she realizes she truly loves
Jack - being a leader that everyone looks up to
Kate - falling in love with someone who doesn't judge her from her past
Hurley - becoming a hero to someone regardless of how much money he has
Locke - being able to walk again
Sawyer - has people listening to him and truly wanting to believe in him
Etc.,etc.,etc............

So, if they leave will it all be an unhappy ending? Apparently there is no going back.

Makes sense about the polar bears - I didn't put that one together.

Was this a 2 hour finalle? I only saw the last hour and thought I missed the first. If so, what did I miss?

Yes, but now that we have seen what could happen in the future, perhaps things happen that change that scenario, or different choices are made, with us knowing what the alternative would have been. We as an audience are then happy knowing they made the better choice, even though the characters will never be completely certain...

I finally watched the season finale last night. What a great episode!

I truly hope Charlie isn't dead. I really like his character.

I also thought Ben was in the casket. However, checking out ABC's Lost forum, someone posted the below obituary from that newpaper clipping Jack was holding:

Here's the newspaper text...

"The body of John Lantham of New York was found shortly after 4 am in the 4300 block of Grand Avenue.

Ted Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud noises coming from the victim's loft.

Concerned for tenants' safety, he entered the loft and found the body hanging from a beam in the living room.

According to Jaime Ortiz, a police spokesman, the incident was deemed a suicide after medical tests. Latham (sic) is survived by one teenaged son.

Memorial services will be held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow evening."
