Lost a puppy

I have been crying all afternoon, this is the first time I have actually stopped crying, my hubby is mad at me because he says it is just a puppy, but to me it was like on of the kids.
I am so upset that I lost her, she was only three days old!!! I don't feel like I want to breed dogs anymore, it is so heartbreaking!!

I am so sorry Leslie!!!!! We are going to breed our dog too, and just tonight I told my husband that maybe we should just get her fixed, and buy her a friend. It will be so hard not to get attached, and if I lose one, or her, it will be devastating. Once again, I am so sorry!!!!

Oh, sweetie, I am so sorry! It is sad and you cry if you want to. Husbands can be very insensitvie. Hang in there! It will get better!

I'm so sorry about your puppy. They do grab pieces of our hearts and very easily......I love animals but the little ones are just so special...you'll be in my prayers......Carole

I'm so sorry Leslie. I've never bred one of my dogs for that very reason. I just know it would absolutely break my heart to lose a puppy, and to lose a mama is just unthinkable. I'm sending hugs your way.

Feel a little better today, just a sad heart, hurts some when I pick up the other puppy from that litter. Have her buried next to the other puppy we lost last year from another litter. That one was more heartbreaking than this puppy because I took a live puppy in to be put to sleep and came back out dead and buried it. It had an uncurrable disease that it was a matter of time before he died and the vet recommended to put him down humanly instead of letting him keep suffering the way he was.
Ok enough of my sad tales LOL. Time to cheer up and smile, they say that is contagous!!! and Cathe said herself it is great muscles exercise to laugh.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have 2 Beagles and whenever they are sick I am torn up. Cry if you want, scream if you want. I don't agree with the sentiment that "it's just a puppy." My girls are part of my family. They are living, breathing little creatures who give tons of love and affection and want nothing more in return than our love and time. (((((((hugs)))))))

Leslie I just saw this because I haven't been able to get online all weekend, and I'm SO sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Pets are part of our lives, no matter how long we have with them, and I do understand your pain.

Leslie~Sorry I missed this thread and wanted to let you know how sorry I am. Our pets are sooo very special to us and I can relate with losing one. BTW, am I the only one here who thought Leslie lost her puppy outside or in the basement hiding or somewhere???? Duuuh, did I feel dingy after I read on to what others posted! Hope you are feeling better.

What makes this a sad story is this, the day the puppy died there were two dogs two litter of puppies, one had only one puppy and the other had two puppies, a male and a female, and the litter with two was a week and a half younger than the other litter. Well the mother of one thought the other litter was hers, great maternal instinct I guess. well I let the mother of two out to go potty and the other one got into her kennel and drug out the female and tried to take it down to her box and in the process she killed it! I cried all the rest of the day and into the night, I felt so bad about what happened. I hated myself so bad. I am so very more carefull now and the mother of one still tries to get the last puppy and claws at the kennel real bad.
Yesterday I cleaned up the spot where that puppy died, was blood soaked.

Dogs are so much more to people than just aniamals. They are essential to us. They are loving, beautiful creatures that want and need love so much (in fact, they crave love i think more than humans do - in some respects they show us up). I really hope you feel better soon.
