Like/review/verify/don't buy check in for 2016- 2024

Hi all! Back to the regular grind after being lazy for the past few days. I did Amy Bento Advanced Step Challenge 1 on Sunday and then did nothing yesterday. This morning I did Body Revolution workout 2 (Pull muscles) and then ICE MM Back.

Today I just did Cardio Supersets from the Low Impact series, 43 minutes, heart rate average 126, max 162, 275 calories, 1,891 steps. I then did You Tube Yoga with Sarah Beth 10 minute Hip opener, 11 minutes, 29 calories. Total time 54 minutes, 304 calories. I also did some foam rolling before and after my workout. I was fine till I got out of the car at Walmart and my knee started throbbing. It is driving me nuts to have the painful areas move around. I was glad when I got through the store and post office so I could come. Hopefully this is better in the morning.

Doreen, I am sure you enjoyed the last few days and was ready to get back to the workouts.

Belinda, n I do not have her workouts anymore. They were on VHS and I got rid of all of them. I saw one of them in the library recently. Nice work on STS and SBF. Those workouts don't bother your knees?

Good morning,

Christi Taylor Totally Cool Step 1 ( without the step :)) is done. Holly crap! Totally Cool step is tough! LOVE, LOVE her music. Glad I done it without the step. The first combo was tricky, the 2nd combo I got the hang of it. Lots of fun. Got 7000 steps with Christi, not bad.

I have a dental appointment (cleaning) today. Tomorrow I have another one for invisalign, she is doing the molding.

Good job, everyone.

Belinda- good job on the "stepless" step! Sound fun. I love step but I've never checked out Christi Taylor.

This morning I did Rip60 week 2 workout. It just added a couple new moves from the first week workout. I'm not doing it as scheduled - just checking out the workouts. The schedule is to do each workout 3x in a week and then move on to the next workout the next week.

Doreen - if you love step, check Christi out. Her choreography is tricky, but once you get the hang of it they are a lot of fun. I think her step workouts are more advanced than Cathe's. Good job on your workout this morning

No workout today. I was all set to workout , when my husband came back in and had to use my car. I had to call the automotive shop and get his vehicle back in the shop to see what is wrong with it. It was quite a frustrating morning. I may go back upstairs in a bit and do some yoga.

Belinda, Totally Cool Step is the one I had. I really liked it. Yes, her choreography is a bit tough, but so much fun when you get it down.

Doreen, nice work getting Ripped 90 done. I go through workouts a lot, just to try them and decide how I want to fit them in to a schedule later.

Diane Sue - so sorry about your DH car :( I would be frustrated too. Enjoy your yoga. I LOVE Totally Cool Step 1, it was a lot of fun without high impact. She is a lot of fun. I did that workouts years ago with a step, gave up after the warm up. Should have done it without a step :) I was so frustrated with all the tricky moves. Glad I gave it another whirl. I can't wait to do Totally Cool Step 2 and her other workouts.

I finished 71 minutes doing Sarah Beth Yoga 10 minute warm up, 20 minute deeps hip opening, neck and shoulder tension, and followed up with Yoga Tune Up prehab and knee hab #2. 174 calories. I used that Yoga Tune Up Knee Hab dvd so much when I had the torn miniscus. That pre-hab is great for loosening up tight spots. I had to run out the door to pick up DH car. Fortunately it was a hose that came loose and was leaking fluid. They had just replaced a valve cover gasket and air shocks so I guess a hose was not on tight enough, hence the clink my husband heard before the vehicle became bogged down. I guess I will be taking my grandson to Sprouts with me tomorrow.

I have my grandson here today and have to get out to see if I can get my husband's laptop fixed. We just get his vehicle fixed and come home and the laptop is messed up. I got on line with Avast and they said they cannot find any threats. We have floating ghost bubbles, shaking screen, unresponsive mouse pad, and now he can't log in. :( I am getting really tired of all of the fixing. I still need to go to Srpouts as well.
Workout today was Fit Tower Advanced Bootcamp, 51 minutes, 293 calories, 1,751 steps. I used the bands that came with the fit tower and workouts. Those are easy bands to me. I just did not want to push the legs too hard yet. This did not feel like too much though.

Good morning,

STS M3 W1 D27 + SBF barre is done.

Diane Sue - wow...on your yoga yesterday and today's workout. Need to pull Fit Tower Adv BC out soon. Sorry you having so much trouble with your husbands car. I am glad they figured it out what's wrong. Oh no...on the laptop :(

Have to hurry to go to my appointment. See you all tomorrow.

Diane Sue- Bummer with all the "breaking" things! If its not one thing its another, right?

This morning I did Fit Split Mixed impact cardio (using the rebounder for jumping) and Pull day.

Late to the party, but I so need to get disciplined with purchases that I don't use. Yesterday I was looking at the Supreme 90 Day series I bought a long time ago that I never used. Just finished up 8 weeks of Michelle Dozois' Peak Fit Challenge (now called Peak 10 Fit Body Challenge) that I hadn't done since I first bought the series in 2012! I think I am getting too old for her constant high impact pounding, though. Now contemplating what to do next. I bought a bunch of DVDs from the TotalFitnessDVD Memorial Day sale, and will be getting those on Friday, including 2 kettlebell DVDs from Paul Katami to add to my pile of kettlebell DVDs that I never seem to get into a rotation (I really do have a problem).

In my defense, I have been trying to check out DVDs from the library first to see if I like them enough to buy.

Planning to do Cathe's To The Max today.

yamabachi, welcome :) I have so many dvd's that I feel guilty because I neglect them and still find myself wanting more ! I know the feeling. I have been going back through and trying to do some of them that I have neglected. It is so easy to just pick up what I have sitting out in plain sight. I have lots of kettlebell workouts and lots of kettlebells. I am most inclined at the moment to use Kelly Coffey Meyer for kettlebell workouts. I have the Art of Strength workouts, Amy Bento Ross, Lauren Brooks, and others. I rarely pick them up anymore. I am learning at my age that I need to be more mindful of the impact. Peak Fit must have been a pretty good set because I still see a lot of people using them. I never bought those. I have Supreme 90 And did it quite a lot. I loaned it to my granddaughter and haven't seen it for a couple of years :)

Doreen, I think that as far as cardio from the Fit Split workouts I like the mixed impact and the kickbox best.

Belinda, the Fit Tower workout worked pretty well for me today. Not overdoing the legs. I didn't go real low on the high and tight. Hopefully the laptop will be fixed and I can pick it up tomorrow. The guy was going through some of it while I was there. We have been going to the same place for many years, but their prices have sure escalated. But, they have always done a good job fixing things.

Good Morning! Glad to have you yamabachi! I recently bought the Peak Fit set and have been working through it. I really like it but it is a lot of impact. Whenever I can I do the jumping moves on my rebounder and that helps! I do like her style of choreographed moves instead of just drill after drill. Diane Sue- I agree with you on the Fit Split cardio - MI and Kickbox are my favorites too!

This morning I did Body Revolution workout 3. My disc kept freezing and stuttering so that was frustrating. I tried to clean it and then it worked without issue for about 20 minutes before it started again. I'll have to try it in a different player. After that I did 2 rounds of the Cardio 1 Body Revolution. I did most of this on my rebounder and it really worked well for that. Just suicides were not rebounder friendly!!

Thanks Doreen and Diane Sue!

Peak Fit definitely does what it says it does - it gets you Peak Fit! That said, I do prefer Cathe's weight work over Michelle's. Cathe is much more deliberate and instructional. And relentless high impact metabolic workouts day after day for 8 weeks is just too much for me. I'm glad it's over. Great idea on the rebounder! I don't have one, but I did buy extra cushy shoes when I started to get knee pain from all that jumping, which helped. If I go through it again, I am definitely rotating in some of Cathe's lower impact metabolic and circuit DVDs.

Diane Sue - Do you have the Skogg System? If so, what do you think of it? It's been on my list forever, then was no longer available, and is now available again. One of the reasons I haven't really gotten into kettlebell is because I haven't been 100% happy with the instruction on the DVDs that I have. So far, Paul Katami's beginner kettlebell is the best I've tried. Seems to me that the Skogg system is the one to get for a good foundation. Dasha Libin's Scorcher series is at my library, so I plan on trying that out at some point, but I don't think that it'll be good for instruction.

Going to try one of the Paul Katami kettlebell workouts that I should be getting today this evening from the DVD sale. No more buying for a while, I hope. Those evil sales!

Today I did Amy Ross Hip Hop Walk, 59 minutes (includes 3 trips downstairs to let Gertie out and in) 397 calories, heart rate 141 average, max 175, 6,046 steps, met 6.1. I was surprised because Fit Bit was higher today than Map My Fitness. I then did Yoga Tune Up prehab from the knee hab dvd and Sarah Beth 10 minute gentle yoga, 23 minutes, 51 calories, met 2.1.

Doreen, the rebounder is such a great tool for all of that jumping.

Yamabachi, I have heard of the Skogg system , but never purchased it. I have also heard others say how much they liked the kettlebell work in the Dasha workouts which I have not ventured to yet. Do you have Amy Ross beginner workout? I have some Brook Benton ones which I have not used for awhile. Amy's got increasingly difficult when she started using the double kettlebells. I have Kettlebell Goddesss and it is good, but I get bored with it. Fun music helps. I have some TRX kettlebell mixed workouts from TRX that are good, unfortunately my TRX mount is not mounted on the ceiling so I don't use them since I don't have much room or a good door to attach it to.

Hi everyone,

The last 2 day's I been very busy with Ortho and dental appointments. I had my molds done TWICE :) She thought I was getting braces:( Thank goodness, they realized it before I left the office. What should have taking me about 45 min ended up taking me an 1.5 hours. They had to take lots of X-rays/ pictures. In 6 to 8 weeks I get Invisible.

Anyway, I did Christi Taylor Fit to dance :) Always a fun one.

yamabachi, welcome :) I have Peak and I do agree her workouts are high impact. I have knee/heal spur/PF problems, I have to keep everything low impact. Some of Cathe's Low impact aren't low impact, I still have to modify them. I have the Dasha's Scorcher Series and love them. They sell really cheap on Groupon. If you prefer downloads she has them too.

Doreen - wait until you get to Phase 3, that one is very high impact from what I remember. Like I said, I sold it after I was done with BR :)

Diane Sue - I probably will pull the Fit Tower out once I am done with STS. I thought long and hard about getting Cathe's new workouts. I already have more than enough and like you hardly revisit Amy Bento, KCM and so on. I really need to go through my entire collection before I add more.

DH and I are remodeling our guest bathroom. BBL!
