Like/review/verify/don't buy check in for 2016- 2024

Belinda, the way the insert on the Voltaran cream sounds scary. I guess they have to cover themselves if anyone has a side effect or anything. If you read labels on insaids like ibuprofen it has worrisome warnings, but people use it like crazy. Like it can cause stroke as can a lot of meds. My granddaughter had kidney failure and was in the hospital for over a week and the doctors said it was that ibuprofen, and she was just one of those people that had issues. She never takes anything if she is hurting since then. My daughter was always like , "no way". We were afraid we might lose her. I watched her during the day after the hospital stay and we worked on diet etc.. She would never tell if she felt bad and I took the grandchildren to subway and she was almost ready to pass out so I called my daughter so she could meet us part way from work and check her out. She took her back to work with her. To this day I try to be careful as I used to use tons of Excedrin all of the time till I realized I had rebound headaches. Somewhere through the years my migraines stopped though. I finally tossed my migraine medicine.
I must have strained my upper back and shoulders today as they really hurt tonight. It seems strange to me that all of these meds were easy to purchase in Germany. I would have thought a cream med would not be as strong as taking the drug internally. I read people on Amazon that said they used it on their necks and shoulders and the insert and website says not to as they "have not studied those areas" Why would they only study part of the body with the cream?

Diane - I agree, they have to cover themselves otherwise they get sued here in the US. You can only get Voltaran cream at any Pharmacies in Germany. Its not that easy to get/buy it like here in the US. My mom used Voltaran cream for her arthritis or pain. I have to ask my sister if Voltaran is a a prescription drug in Germany or not? I can't remember. I was giving diclofenac tablets which is in Vlotaran by my doctor over a year ago. I couldn't take it, it upset my stomach. I was happy they had it in cream instead of pill form. My mom, I used it in Germany. I use Voltran cream daily, got it from my doctors after I couldn't take it in pill form. My husband uses it too for his knees. It helps me with my arthritis in my knees. I also used it on my shoulder/neck the other day. That is horrible and scary about your grand daughter. Glad she is fine.

Today I did CDorner Step Areobics Basic Intermediate workout from 1 day ago. I am guessing this is one she did later in the day. 43 minutes, heart rate 150/175, 274 calories, 3,792 steps. This one was easy choreography. I was not that thrilled with the music, but that is okay. It had no jumping in it. I also did CDorner Cardio Mobility and 15 minutes of a mobility stretch, 45 minutes for both, 80 calories, heart rate 84/114, 329 steps. Total time 88 minutes, 354 calories, 4,121 steps.
We went to a local nursery and I picked up a new hydrangea plant as the one I had died after that long hard freeze. Also finally found some basil plants. I keep buying tiny things of fresh basil for recipes.

Belinda, Volteran is no longer prescription for the cream here. I guess since March is what I read on the internet. I saw it on Amazon and checked it out on the internet. I had not seen it before and ordered it.
I hope that you have a nice day today.

Hi,

I walked with DH and Cooper this morning. Than I did SBF workout. I been cleaning out my mudroom. I like how it looks.

Diane - I also saw Voltera in Costco a few month ago. Volteran is helping with the pain in my knees. Great job on your workout today.

Good night.

Today I did CDorner Step Aerobics #127,Int/ Adv. , she says that it has music tracks about America. I really did not notice much other than the first one which was Neil Diamond. I wish she didn't mess up so much as I would be getting it down and she would mess up and stop. This was 62 minutes, 302 calories, heart rate 131/162, 5,547 steps. I followed this with her full body 15 minute deep stretch which she used a chair for a lot of. This was 25 calories heart rate 77/100. Total time was 77 minutes, 327 calories, 5,547 steps.
Afterward I rearranged my workout space so that I think it will give me more room. I was waiting on the lawn guy to come and he did not mow today because the corner of our yard is so wet from all of the rain and his equipment is not handling it. He will come tomorrow morning.
We went to lunch and to get plant stuff. This afternoon I pulled up some plants and got it ready so we could put a hydrangea in and planted some basil for cooking.
Lots of fireworks tonight. Gertie has been whining and running to us all evening. We never heard them at the other house. There is lots of open space here. I think there was a public showing not too far. I could see the display from my window. Neighbors were out in their pools and yards and some were shooting off some. I am surprised though that it is almost 11 and I still here them intermittently going off. Gertie has finally settled down somewhat.

Belinda, you are lucky to have a mudroom. You do not see homes with those much anymore unless it is an older home. Is your daughter going to be gone long?

Good morning,

DH, Cooper and I walked 2.5 miles this morning. It was nice and cool outside. I also did SBF stretch for today.

Diane - our house is 16 years old. Most homes in our area have mood rooms. Must be a southern thing, lol. Here in the south people like not trigging things through the house. I like having a mood room. Sorry about Gertie and the fireworks. So far, it doesn't border Cooper. My DD left me with something to calm him down in case I need it. We shall see tonight. Can you give something to Gertie? Poor thing. I also want to plan herbs. I bought a bunch of basil plus I got a lot of basil from my CSA yesterday. Need to figure out what to do with it. Maybe make some vegan pesto?

I will try to check in later.

Happy 4th of July! Stay safe!

Here is a picture of my plant based nachos :) DH and I made today. So delicious! Took us almost 2 hours to make it. It was very time consuming but worst it. I am glad DH wanted to help. The next time I would cut the plant based crema and plant based cheese sauce in half. Add more jalapeños. Can't wait for the oven brick pizza tonight.

This morning I did just the warm up and 5 minutes of a Low Impact C Dorner to get moving and then I did CDorner mobility stretch for flexibility and some moves for the trap area added on. This ended up being 117 calories total and I spent 45 minutes. I was searching out why my trap area is always so sore, even when I wake up in the mornings. There was a PT place that specialized in upper back and neck area that explained how it affects the shoulders and neck and the only place where there is a nerve that runs all the way up. I will have to post it for those who are interested. Happy fourth ! I hope everyone enjoys it. I looked it up and I guess the city I go to shop that is close allows fireworks from June 27th to the 4th.

Belinda, that dish looks yummy. What do you use for tortillas? I have so many veggies in my refrigerator and herbs right now, I need to be getting them used up or put into dishes that I can freeze.

Good morning,

Walk outside and SBF D20 Buttl Lift = 27 min + Single Tight Work = 11 min is done.

Diane - best nachos ever. Very time consuming! Not something I would do every week, lol. I used no oil corn tortilla. There are a lot of great dishes you could do with all your veggies.

Have a great Monday everyone.

Today I did the start of CDorner Arms, Abs and Cardio for 8 minutes and decided it was not for me so I just switched workouts and did CDorner Hiit no equipment from 1 month ago which was 40 minutes, together this was 48 minutes, 276 calories, heart rate 140/170, 2,835 steps. I then did some of Coffey Fit Raw Lift It, 29 minutes, 100 calories, heart rate 108/137, 244 steps. Total time was 69 minutes, 376 calories, 3084 steps. The hiit fit in ab work and a down to the floor ab move with each of the grouping as it was repeated 3 times. I have done this before and it is just so so. Yesterday I spent more time researching and trying to get the garage door keypad to work and finally just ordered a new one. I put batteries in thinking it needed new ones. It does not light up like the videos instructions. I will get it Friday and try again. I am getting tired of figuring out all of this smart feature stuff on this house. Once we get the keypad set I will try to refigure the code to the inside door to the house. It works, but is still the code the garage door was supposed to be and we will probably change that one. The inside door to the garage announces every time a door is opened to the outside including the front door and the back door. I am not sure I like it all that much, but am getting used to it. MY husband asked once why the door was always cracked open and I told him so I didn't hear it announce it was open everytime I went into the garage.
Raw Lift It (portions I did skipping shoulders, back and chest, and the last segment of lower body as I did not want to risk overdoing it)
10 reps per exercise

Suitcase deadlifts 15# dbs (Kelly 20's)
reverse lunge/pistol squat 15# dbs (Kelly stays 20's) I am glad this was not the kind of pistol I remember doing in the past
goblet squat 15# db
reverse cross back lunges 15#

single arm supinated biceps curls 12's (Kelly 15's) 2 sets each arm this is hard with my right shoulder and kind of hurts
suitcase deadlift 15# dbs
double arm supinated biceos curls 12# dbs

skipped next2 groups (shoulders and back which had more pistal lunges and goblet squats as well)

single arm triceps extension overhead 10# db 2 sets each side
reverse curtsy squat 15# dbs
double overhead triceps extension 10's

skipped last two segments and did the stretch

Belinda, I did go look at some good sounding recipes at FOK. I was looking at all of the stuff I have in the veggie drawers and thought I could always put it all together. I do not use near the oil or fat those recipes in the book I am using use. I discovered I am out of black beans so made the burgers today with chickpeas and they were yummy. Also was missing cucumber so I just halved grape tomatoes and avocado slices on top of the burger with the lime juice sprinkled over it and ate it that way. I did half of a recipe and have two more burgers they said you can refrigerate for a couple of days or freeze. These were good and I imagine the black beans would have been good too. I prefer corn tortillas to most and I usually try to get the Food For Life Organic ones. They have a lot more flavor than most.

Hi everyone,

I walked early this morning and I also did SBF D30 UB2.

My doctor wants me to go to physical therapy for my shoulder/arm. I still a lot of pain.

Diane - sounds like a good idea with the veggies and burger. I always sub/change things out. I'll bet it was very good. I need to look up the corn tortillas never heard of them. I was cooking food for tomorrow. I will be at DD's condo, her washer isn't working the repair man is coming tomorrow. I want to make sure DH and I have something healthy to eat.

Good night.

Today's workout was CDorner no equipment cardio Tabata, 41 minutes, 207 calories, 2,317 steps, heart rate 128/178. I then did the new 30 minute mobility flow routine for flexibility and stress relief, 30 minutes, heart rate 80/98, 48 calories, 100 steps. Total time was 71 minutes, 255 calories, 2,417 steps. The cardio tabata was not that intense. I modified as well, so not a big calorie burn. There was push ups, burpees, and squat thrusts which I switched out and did her modifier or one of my own.

Belinda, I am so sorry that your arm is painful. I am having to really work on mine right now. I see the doctor next week. Tomorrow will be no work out as I have a ways to drive for my appointment in the morning. I will leave an hour before the appointment to make sure I am on time. No idea how bad traffic will be that time of morning. They called today and want me there 15 minutes early. It is weird because when I checked on the test not being scheduled before, they told me they would not be doing a Heart CT for nodules and it would be an ultra sound. Asked why would I be doing a CT scan. I explained everything and when they got done I was confused because I was sure that I had had the same Heart CT the second time as the first and that that was what I was repeating. Then today they called and reminded me about the CT. Sometimes I wonder about the competence of some medical people. It was probably just one of their receptionists that I talked to as I was sent to one person and then another with call backs till I got things straightened out. At least Thursday when I see the doctor it will be 1 oclock. I don't know about you, but when I hold my arm up to hold the steering wheel, my shoulder and arm starts hurting. I dread this driving.
I sub a lot with recipes for what ingredients that I have. I was looking at all of my veggies and thought I need to do another mixed veggie dish on the basmati rice. I do have quinoa precooked and rice precooked in the freezer. I made the cauliflower puree topped with roasted broccoli and used cashews for the 1 TBS of peanuts as I do not have peanuts. I like this recipe and have made it quite a few times now.

Good morning,

SBF D31 Make you laugh & sweat LB Cardio 90's style = 23 min plus an 60 min walk outside is done.

Diane - I have an appointment tomorrow with the PT. It's good idea to leave early for you appointment. Every time I move my left arm it starts hurting. I will donate all the meat I have to the church in town, I have zero room in my freezer. I can't fit a lot in my freezer with all the meat I still have in there.

I am getting ready to go to DD's condo to let the washer repair guy in. DD's washer stopped working.

Happy Hump Day, everyone!

I am back from the heart hospital. It did not take long, I think I sat down 2 minutes and they called me back for the CT. In fact they had me come in 15 minutes early and I left before the actual appointment time. I guess it must have been morning traffic as it took me 45 minutes to get there and 35 to get back. I go back to see the doctor tomorrow afternoon. Next week I will have to add another 25 minutes to the time to get to the arthritis center. I am not looking forward to that one. It is in the morning as well.
No workout, My arm and weird that my hip hurts. I got out of the car and was walking across the parking lot and it almost gave out for a second. No sure what that is all about. Maybe the weird curtsy move I tried to follow Chris Dorner on her tabata workout. I will rest today. The doctor I see tomorrow is a replacement for the one that retired that I was seeing.
I will do a workout tomorrow when I get up since my appointment is not so early. Next week I had lades game day one day and the arthritis appointment the next. Both are earlier, but we are doing game day at 11 instead of 9 this time and the location is closer to me. I just need to map it out. We are doing lunch and her husband is grilling instead of our usual morning brunch.

Good morning,

SBF D 32 Abs ans stretch is done.

Diane - glad your appointment went well and you got in and out in no time. Sorry about your hip. You probably moved wrong and wished something. If isn't one thing it's another. I straighten out my bed shits from Cooper laying on it, I felt a tightness in my back. Now, I am in a lot of pain in my lower back. I was going to do CL figured I pass. I went for an easy walk outside instead. Good thing I am going to PT this afternoon. I had to chance my appointment to the afternoon, DH has his PT this morning. We are down to one car. Sounds like you have a busy week ahead of you.

Have a great workout and day everyone.

Today I did CDorner Intermediate step from yesterday (hip hop music) 231 calories, 44 minutes, heart rate 134/159, 3,889 steps. I wanted a bit more and am pressed for time as I have to leave when I am done here. I did the first 11 minutes of Best of Kickboxing and Dance Tabata Mash up, 68 calories, heart rate 145/182, 85 steps. That bit of it was fun and the music was fun. I will probably do all of it tomorrow. Total time was 55 minutes, 299 calories, 4,744 steps. The intermediate step was fairly easy to follow. I could tell my heart rate was not real high as I was rarely breathless. At least I am not getting Fitbit stats. These seem much more accurate. I made time to eat my last chickpea burger cooking it in no oil this time and drizzled with lime juice and some avocado.

Belinda, I have had that happen tugging on sheets . lol on your sheets :) (spelling) I would be tempted to call them that!! It hurts my shoulder pulling and tugging on them.

Hi again,

Walk outside and stretch is done.

DD is coming home from visiting my son and my DIL. I am getting ready to drive Cooper to DC. DH and I probably will stay in DC until tomorrow. Haven't decided if we stay overnight? I have to pick up my CSA early in the morning. We shall see.

Diane - my back already felt very tight when I tugged on the sheets. My bedroom set is from Germany, the beds are not as high as the standard US beds are. I wasn't lifting a bulky, heavy. Great job yesterday.

I will check in later. Have a great Friday, everyone.

Today I did CDorner Best of Cardio Kickboxing and Dance Tabata Mash Up (80's music) 274 calories, 47 minutes, 3,548 steps. I then did her Upper Body and Neck Stretch from today, 22 minutes, 32 calories, 76/90 calories, 15 steps. The cardio workout was a mix of her workouts put together and the abs added on at 36 minutes into the workout then the stretch. Fun workout. You notice the mix as when she hits one part it is older as her puzzle mats are on the floor and the abs are in a gym with two other women. Standing and floor abs that are basic moves.

Belinda, have fun in DC visiting with your daughter.

Hi,

DH and I ended up staying in DC yesterday. We had a great time catching up with DD. We also picked her up after we dropped Cooper of the condo. Luckily, JFK isn't far from DD's house. They had a lot of constructions going on. We came home this morning. Ended up taking a rest day today.

Diane - I always have fun hanging out with DD. We had a lot of laughs yesterday. Great job yesterday.

Good night.

Today I did CDorner Full Body Workout dumbbell workout at home frpm yesterday. This was 53 minutes(work time 46 min) Garmin always gives me both when I do it as strength and pause rests to write. 137 calories, 99/129 heart rate, 570 steps. I previewed this one yesterday to determine if it was doable. Compound exercises and abs in between rounds. I followed this with one of her cardio mobility and foam roller upper back and shoulders, 45 minutes, 80 calories. Total time 98 minutes, 217 calories. I finally got an egg plant and my dried black beans. I made the Fix it with Food Vegetable chili with eggplant and black eyed peas along with crushed tomatoes and lots of seasoning. It is really good. They have a recipe very similar that they use on a baked sweet potato and in a stuffed pepper with quinoa and the stew. It is just missing a couple of ingredients like cocoa powder and cinnamon.
CDorner Full Body Workout uses dumbbells and gliding discs for one move with other options if something does not work. Not super heavy weights as Chris uses a bit of 15's but mostly 8-12#
warm up
plank/crunches
wall squat with back and head pressed against the wall bent arm lateral raises (she uses 8's) I used 5's
gliders or other option kneel on gliding discs and slide knees in and out
wall sit with hands on thighs applying resistance to knees outward and release
side lunge 1 arm front raise alternating sides (me 5#) I think Chris uses 8#
repeat moves
next round
15's or 12's as Chris gets out both reverse hold lunge and lift heel if you can while doing hammer curls
I used 12's
alternating reverse lunge hammer curls 12's
repeat the reverse lunge heel lift hammer curls on left 12's
Biceps curls m3 10's 2 and 2 alternating
reverse lunge supination cuurls 12's
next round
abs star fish
hollow
twisting plank on forearms
leaning on forearms bicycle
repeat
next round
curtsy 1 arm overhead tricep extension (I tried one and it was painful for that shoulder so did the alternative lunge with kickbacks 10# dbshold in glute bridge skull crusher 12's (me 10's)
plank row kickback or alternative which Chris did because of her shoulder and arm done on knees me 8# db
