Like/review/verify/don't buy check in for 2016- 2024

Belinda, I don't blame you for heading out early. I never liked taking our fifth wheel out in bad weather. I remember sitting in a campground overlooking the lake when there was a huge hail storm, high winds and tornado threats. I couldn't sleep all night for the noise and trailer rocking. I thought we might blow away. Hopefully you have a safe trip and not too icy. It will probably be better as you get closer to the destination. What day is the wedding? I think all of the newer Cathe workouts has just improved us because, I often go to workouts that I thought I was going to pass out from and found they seemed easy. :)

Henriette, it is interesting on price differences. When my husband did a lot of travel and worked out of country he found some great deals to bring home. He also used Amazon to get a lot of stuff that he needed. Although in Afghanistan the UPS truck was blown up once and that stuff was lost. If I would have thought well ahead I would have had him check out Dansko and Birkenstock shoes for me. From what I have heard he could have got them much cheaper than here. He did bring me home perfumes that were Ralph Lauren and Tresor in huge bottles. It has been several years and I am still finishing off the last bottle. Probably a bit stale now.
My youngest daughter used to go to Zumba classes with other teachers after school. She enjoyed it a lot. I bet I would leave the Cize workouts sit after awhile if I wasn't getting the choreography. I have a couple of workouts I have hung onto in hopes of finding the time to perfect the moves. One is my most advanced budokon workout. It took a long time to get the first two. It is the different flow of the moves along with martial arts moves but, I seriously love it when I get it.

Doreen, I usually do some moving around and swinging arms while loading the workouts before I start. If you did something like that and the workout starts slow I would think it would be fine to skip. I don't skip warm ups often any more though.

Laura, I am so sorry, it sounds like what I had. I had a humidifier and my diffuser with essential oils going around me, carried cough drops and water everywhere. I tried to sing Christmas songs while listening and it just broke out into fits of coughing. It was awful. I hope that you get better soon. I think I had one replacement before but it was shortly after I got the workout and I did not need to return the first one. This was a long time ago and I can't remember how long it took. That low impact workout is the one in the set I have used the most often.

catgirl- Hang in there!! Bad things in three's right? Hope your cough gets better soon!

Diane Sue- In my younger years I NEVER did a warm-up. I've gotten much wiser with age and warm up first. The way that particular BB starts feels much like a warm up, some light jogging, then builds from there. Much like a T25 style warm up.

This morning was bizzare. First I slept through my alarm and work up 20 min later so I did an abbreviated Cathe Live Class- Upper body Barbell but had to quit before she started tri's to take my son to basketball practice. *Maybe* I'll try to make today a doubles day... or just make tomorrow a longer day since hopefully I'll have more time on a Saturday!

Today I started with Low Impact Challenge premix that was 31 minutes stopping at the stretch, 217 calories. I then did Hammer Power and 10 Minute Ab Hammer, 51 minutes, 307 calories. Total time was 82 minutes and calories burned 524. My shoulders are feeling it today. I just did this two days ago. That is how it is on the schedule. I still stayed lighter on it.

Doreen, nice job getting something in anyway. You probably needed the extra rest. I rarely oversleep and it seems weird when I do. When I used to run grandchildren to different areas of the city to school I had to get up very early to get in a workout. I would find something that was as efficient as possible and have a very quick shower and dress to run out the door. Sometimes I could make myself come back and do some abs or yoga or something if the little ones I had with me would allow it. I never wanted to do more sweaty work though. Usually if I don't get it done first thing it doesn't get done.

Diane Sue- I agree- if it doesn't get done first thing it doesn't get done. I hate taking 2 showers in a day- seems so water-wasteful and I can't shower the night before and feel presentable for the next day.

This morning I did a couple combos of Low Impact Challege Step OnDemand (before my browser crashed- something with the shockwave plug in.) and then I popped in the other Jillian Michaels DVD Shed and Shred from the library and did the level 2 wo. Its hard in a weird sort of way. I think the isometric yoga poses after plyo moves when the heart-rate is up is what does it. I much prefer to walk around to recover my heartbeat. Her circuits seem so all over the place. And she's not working you evenly. One time through the circuit you do regular one-leg squat. The second time through on the other leg then she want you to do the one-leg squat but jump at the top. You'd have to remember to switch out which side you start with for the next workout. So weird.

I think after doing all these random workouts from OnDemand and Cathe live for the past few weeks I'm craving some structure in my workouts.... so that means time to start a rotation of something. I have one more week of OnDemand where I have planned to sample some of Cathe's stuff I actually don't have (Gym Styles for weights and maybe another round of my favorite ICE workouts). I'm trying to decide if I should go RWH or Xtrain or STS or back to New Rules of Lifting. I'll have to give that some thought.

I completely agree with you ladies regarding the showers... At least I don't want to wash my hair twice in one day and all the workouts I am doing right now require hair washing as I tend to sweat a LOT! So today with it being Saturday amd a gme to coach this afternoon I had to wash my hir before I could leave the house, so I worked out this morning before my shower. ICE MTB incl BB. I knew if I showered and washed my hair by then end of the afternoon when we got back home I would not feel like getting all sweaty again to wash my hair yet again.

I was a good w/o today... But I felt a little rushed. I'm more used to working out at night where finishing my w/o late does not mean I will be late to something.

I have managed not to buy any new dvd's since last weekend... But I did end up buying yet another pairnof Nikes. Oops. The thing was there's a sale on at Nike.com and then I got an email with a code for additional 20% off. My son just got 2 new pairs of Jordans for his trainings and games and I knew he wanted some for outdoors too, but they're so expensive... Unless it's a sale and then even better with additional discount. And once there I couldn't help falling for another pair of Nikes for myself.

Today's scheduled workout was Chisel Balance and glute chisel, 58 minutes, 338 calories. I finished off with Tabatacise blasts premix then tabata 5 with blast and stretch, , 19 minutes, 149 calories. Total time was 77 minutes and calories burned was 487.

Doreen, I always find I do better with something sort of structured planned out or I waste a lot of time deciding what I want to do. It's funny because on Hammer and Chisel there is a couple of workouts that I mess up on remembering that the way the routine is going just ups and changes. Also some moves like to day where Autumn does up down off of the weight bench in a plank, she does one side then the next set she does the other side starting. Everytime I have forgotten that and did alternating sides. Also yesterdays workout Sagi is moving left side first then right. On one exercise when they went to heavy, this time I caught it, he says do your dominant side. They only do one side then switch movement patterns.

Heriette, I don't think shoes and clothes count :) I recently got two new pair of shoes. But, I needed them. One was the Crossfit Nano 5 and I like them for weights and balance because they have a wider foot bed, and then I got another pair of shoes that I really like that were a good deal at Christmas on Amazon that are great for pivots and turns and aerobics. The Nanas have a lot of grip in the tread and I like the others better for the movement. It had been over a year since my last workout shoes and they were wearing down. I am always watching for deals for things that I need.

Good morning ladies,

We are in Carthage Missouri (small town), we were greeted by the park owner with chocolate chip cookies. We did beat the blizzard in DC, only caught a little bit on Friday in Maryland and West Virginia, that sounds backwards but we live in the East panhandle and when we go north-west we hit WV a couple times. Once we got to Ohio it cleared up. It's freezing cold outside, Friday and yesterday it was in the 10' :( Here it is at freezing. We should be getting into Sweetwater TX today (70-yeah), looking forward to warmer weather. We did run into a lot of problems with the RV. Yesterday we got propane and the guy forgot to reset the system, which caused us a lot of headache, everything like the heater, hot water, refrigerator/freezer runs with propane. Nothing was working? It took us 1.5 hour to figure out what was wrong. We called Good Sams (Roadside assistance for the RV) they couldn't find anybody in Indian that knows about RV's, WTH? Indian is huge:( Somehow my husband (it was already 8pm) got a hold of some dude in California (RV mechanic/specialist) that talked my husband through resetting the system :) We have a full kitchen and bathroom in the RV, the water pipes and tank froze, that was a lot of fun. We also got into an accident yesterday. The entire left rear (10 feet) and the slide out on the RV is torn up, we can't open our slide out, still a lot of room. Motor is working fine, but like I said no slide out in the living room area isn't as big as I am used to :) I haven't worked out once, we just trying to get away from the cold. As you can see we are having a blast :) Hope you all staying warm. I will check in tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a workout in. Take care, everyone!!

Belinda, I am glad that you got things worked out. I remember when we got our fifth wheel and them showing my husband and I how to reset the system. I am sure it did take awhile to try to figure out what was wrong. We have had different things like that to deal with when travelling. It is not fun. I am so sorry about the pop out. At least you are being positive about it. I too would be grateful for the heat and power. Having your traveling home is so nice though when visiting others :)

Belinda-bummer about your RV. Glad you guys weren't hurt. Will it be able to be fixed? Will insurance cover it?

This weekend I messed around trying to figure out why our wifi kept dropping and why my browser shockwave keeps crashing during on demand. No luck on either!!

My husband failed to get the message on tightening up our budget this year and blew several hundred dollars on legos this weekend. Now I feel entitled to get something for myself.. Realizing that feeling I'm holding the cc hostage!!

Good morning,

I finally got a workout in : I did ICE Metabalic TB Timesaver premix :#3 Warm Up + Blizzard Blast + Muscle Meltdown - Chest + Stretch - 38:42. We are in Texas, it's in the 70' :)

Nora - thank you for your prayers :)

I have to shower and get ready to go. I will be back later to catch up on personals.

Catgirl - I also own Rocking body but I have only tried two of those workouts and find them quite frustrating to do compared to Cize. Cize is definitely better for beginners like me... taking it one step at a time.

With all the ICE workouts I have been doing I just haven't been doing enough dance style stuff. I think they're fun, but not as intensive as most Cathe w/o's.

Pro to doing rotation... I don't waste time thinking about which w/o to pick.
Con - I don't get around to all the other fun ones.

Still down and out. This thing has hit me hard. It's one of those where you have to work up the energy to go take a shower.

Belinda, I'm sorry to hear about your RV problems and your accident. I hope everyone was ok. At least you are out of the blizzard, enjoy that weather and of course the wedding.

Henriette, glad to hear that I'm not the only one who found Rocking body hard. I thought that since I catch onto step routines so easy, I could pick it up. I was wrong.

I'm glad that Diane Sue said that workout clothes do not count, I went into Costco to get some cold medicine and ended up with three cute workout tanks tops. I thought it would cheer me up. This cold/flu thing has been leaving me depressed. Just not myself lately. I've been in a serious funk. Have my hospital appointments tomorrow.

The Z Step that Doreen recommended came in from the library. Going to look at that. On the plus side, my hands have improved greatly. I think I can go back to weights if I can get out of bed.

Everyone keep up the good work.

Con - I don't get around to all the other fun ones.

Often I will sub out "fun" workouts if a rotation features a DVD more than once for cardio. So during Xtrain if Hard strikes comes up for the second time in a rotation I might switch out another kickboxing instead. Just cardio workouts though. I try to stay true to the strength rotation.

The Z Step that Doreen recommended came in from the library. Going to look at that.
Good one to watch while you feel sick! If you can get that "sexy 16" move you are my hero! I'm still working on it!!

Hi everyone!

Doreen - what Lego did your husband get? For himself or for the kids?
That's a good idea subbing one cardio for another. Today I started with ICE with Xtrain rotation and today's w/o was rockem knocknem. I think i have done that one 4 times in the last 4 weeks, so the main w/o seems to have gotten shorter, but the blast added to it still leads to a real sweat after half a million hops... And probbly sore shins tomorrow. Tomorrow is xtrain cbs so that should be a nice break for my legs.

I was planning on subbing the Xtrain ride from this rotation with other cardio, but I guess if rock em comes up again I can always do something like Patrick Goudeau's Kickbox burn. I love that one. It made me get Heather's two Moxie w/o's. They're good short 20-25min w/os.

Diane Sue - thanks for saying w/o clothes don't count. Nice excuse two get two pink Under Armour eclipse sports bra's, off course 50% off... So basically I was getting two for the price of one. I wasn't short of sports bras... Just short of pink ones and I recently discovered this model and now don't really want to wear any other sportsbra.

Belinda - I hope your journey goes smoother the rest of the way.

I can't believe all the snow I hear about in the States. I hope evryone is ok.
We had a lovely sunny day and the freezing temps seem long gone again. Unfortunately I did not get to go out to enjoy it at all as my son's been down with a high fever since Sunday morning, even higher today than yesterday so I worked from home today and found substitutes for the bball training I normally give Monday evening.

This morning was quite frustrating. I have started having problems with my Polar HR7 Bluetooth monitor. It seemed to be doing so well and it started smelling like shorted out wires or something. My HR goes up to 225 when I am doing nothing. I changed the battery and have done everything they said to do on the Polar website. After an hour and a half of messing with it and starting over with a warm up from Hard strikes I gave up, put on an old transmitter and my watch and did Hammer and Chisel Iso Speed Hammer and 15 minute leg Hammer 42 minutes, 246 calories for both, and then finished off with Kelly Coffey's Bonus step from Strength and Stamina, 22 minutes, 183 calories. I am checking out the monitor right now so I can see how it shows on the polar site,. I am sitting here typing with a 154 to a78 HR. It has a 2 year warranty so we will see what they do.

Belinda, I am glad to hear you were able to get a workout in. I hope the rest of the trip is nice for you. It looks like much nicer weather. :) It was in the 60's here in Oklahoma yesterday and I went out before it got dark and raked leaves and did some outside clean up just in case we get some more snow or icy weather.

Henriette, I do that with an item of clothing that I really like. I have a whole bunch of under armour compression t's and sleeveless t's in all different colors. Then later I liked a looser fit so started collecting the ones that were more of a cotton. That's great that you got such a good price.

Doreen, those legos are expensive for even the small sets. My granddaughter has been really into the Minecraft ones.

Laura, I felt exactly the same way, and I don't know why the depression but I felt that too. Maybe that I was just starting to wonder if I was going to ever get better. I contemplated the doctor a few times. I hate going to the doctor during the flu months. I am always afraid I will add something else on to my being sick. I am due for my physical and mammogram and keep putting it off. I was supposed to get a pneumonia shot last year and didn't do it. Then when I went in last she said since I was so fatigued and all not to get the pneumonia shot yet this year. They started that after I got pneumonia a few years ago. I hope you can get your strength back soon. I felt so weak that a lot of days if I was not seeing anyone else or going out of the house, I didn't bother with my flat iron or much in the way of makeup which is something I rarely do. I love makeup. It was effort to blow dry my hair.

Doreen - what Lego did your husband get? For himself or for the kids?

He claims they are for the kids. ;) He actually buys bulk bags of legos from thrift and second hand stores, then he and the kids sort through them and "reclaim" the sets. They look up the instructions online since those don't often make it to the thrift with the pieces and remake the sets. After our coffee table gets full they take them apart and baggie them up with the set # labeled on the baggie. We have bins full of these baggies stored away. Can anyone say "horder"? I should take a picture and show you what my living room looks like in the middle of one of these reclamation projects!!

This morning I did Kick Max On Demand. I never bought it because it was on Hardcore extreme and I bought that instead. The blast is my favorite part. I didn't have time for the standing leg conditioning.

Hi!

Doreen - I can completely imagine what you mean with the Lego. My sister and her husband do nearly the same. They can never have enough Lego. I refuse to get more Lego for my son. He has so many expensive sets from past birthdays and Christmases and he basically builds them and then never really plays with them and with time they start falling apart... usually a soft min basketball hits one of them.

Don't think I will be doing any w/o any time soon. I seem to have caught my son's flu. It started during the night and I slept like crap and now everything hurts. I have worked from home today, with him lying behind me, but if it gets any worse I will have to call in sick. Not what I was looking for! I just had two viruses and a lung infection before Christmas, so I thought I would be find the rest of the school year.

Henriette, I do that with an item of clothing that I really like. I have a whole bunch of under armour compression t's and sleeveless t's in all different colors. Then later I liked a looser fit so started collecting the ones that were more of a cotton. That's great that you got such a good price.

I had the exact same thing happen.... first it was the victory tanks in every color of the rainbow and now I like the fly by more, only they're a lot harder to find with 50% off.
