Like Cathe way better than Power 90X!!

I'll PM you would LOVE to buy it from you for my brother. Agree with Kathryn we aren't suppose to post this on here - so I'll PM you.

I'm on round 2 and doing doubles with TJ. Up to 11 chinups and 40 boy pushups! Goal is to be in my best shape ever for my son's HS graduation - not quite there yet - having done cathe since 99 the bar is VERY high!

For me this rotation works best - not sure why but step didn't lean me out the same way on the lower body and the most exciting thing is I've got a 6 pack coming :)

Next round will be running and Classic!

To each his own! Thanks I'll PM you!!

Eddited to say - not crazy about the jabs at his masculinity etc... WHO cares???

I am very picky with my exercise DVDs and for that reason I'm not interested in P90X for now. I know people that do it and they have said "you will not stand these series". I'm sure that the workouts are effective (I've seen some B and A pictures in here and other sites), but if they're not intesting to watch I won't be motivated enough to do them and I have to do them to see results.

I trust Cathe and I know her next series will put P90X to shame. She definitely has the personality that other instructors lack. :)

I havent done a rotation yet but have done several of the workouts. I love the weighted workouts.not too big on the cardio x and kenpo is alright. I will mix both tony and cathe and sure I will get good results. I think finding what is right for you iss the key here. I feel for me combining the two will give me the results and keep me from getting bored also. I do not like step aerobics so I dont do those workouts of cathes, however I like her weighted workouts but some of her weighted workouts can be repeatative as well. There is only so much you can do and eventually will have to be somewhat repetative. But what works for one person might not work for others. I have found this out. Its still a work in progress for but I am slowly getting the muscle definition that I have been wanting for so long. some p;eoples bodys just take longer to get leaner or more sculpted and others are lucky and it happens quickly. wish I was one of them. what ever you all choose goodluck with it and keep changing it up!

I'm totally with you on this! I have tried twice to do a P90X rotation and never make it through the third week. I can't stand Plyo X, Ab Ripper is effective but boring, and I really miss Cathe the whole time! I would consider selling it, but I do like the Yoga and Stretch workouts.

Hi,

I've done Cathe for almost 20 years, and I'm almost finished with my first p90x rotation. The two are very difficult to compare because it's like apples and oranges, but I can honestly say that I'm in the best shape I've ever been in. My husband commented today that it is amazing that it has taken this long for me to get my upper body to look so good. I actually have a core that is hard! I added Cathe cardio along the way and some running and cycling too, doing a modified doubles.

After working out for so long, I'm past the quirks of the workout instructors and as long as what they are conveying is sound advice I can look past almost everything else.

P90x is very physically difficult and it takes a lot of discipline to stick with a difficult, repetitive 90 day rotation. The check in has helped me immensely. I'm not saying that anyone that doesn't like p90x is not disciplined, I'm just saying that sometimes if you really want to get to the next level it is not always fun and games. But the results are amazing and I will never view workouts the same again. I am eager to apply some of the things that I've learned doing p90x to my Cathe weight work and see if I can continue the same progress.

I like both. But, I will have to say that after P90X, I was able to do Cathe's workouts better. It seems that I broke through plateaus for strength and for endurance with Tony. I love Cathe and I will always do her workouts, but as far as transforming my body and fitness level, I'd have to say Tony's boring, egocentric workouts work much better for me.

>Now, I must be color blind because I don't see the "orange
>tan".

I don't, either (but Cathe a crew are pretty orangy in Step, Jump and Pump --or whatever that one is ).

Now, I do think the hair and makeup peeps went a little overboard on Tony, but nothing that's not tolerable.

I love Cathe & I love P90X & Tony. I wouldnt say I liked one better because they are 2 different types instructors that also have diffent fitness goals for their audience. If Cathe put together a 12 week rotation and packaged DVDs to sell with that particular program w/ very specific goals I guess some would get bored w/ that as well. There cannot be 50 titles in a Pre Packaged program...Comparing apples to oranges in my opinion. :7

Well, I love Cathe AND I love Tony and I see room in my collection for both of them. I find Tony's humor funny, actually. He's so goofy at times but he does get you into a good mood (well, me, anyway). I sat on the fence for this series for a loooong time, too.

And Angela, if you don't like the workouts, you can put them on the swap or ebay and they WILL sell, so I don't think you'd lose any money.

As I was doing plyo x the other day after reading this post I was wondering what people find so agonizing about Tony but to each his own I guess. I agree with you Marie. I find him entertaining for the most part! I have chuckled out loud a few times even!:)

As Marie and Wendy say, I also find Tony's humor funny. He's like a little kid and too many people take themselves so seriously so it's nice to have some goofiness in life. I love starting my day out with him. Puts me in a great mood. Yeah, he can be a bit egotistical once in awhile, but have you seen him do those airborne pushups! He should be proud of himself! ;)

I get so bored with things that I would get bored with ANYTHING I had to do forever be it a P90X rotation, a Cathe rotation, a Body for Life rotation (which I also LOVE and is heavy lifting and less cardio for 90 days) - anything. I love that P90X is 90 days b/c I'll be ready to go back to Cathe. I love that cycling season around here is pretty short b/c by October I'm SO sick of cycling and I'm ready for a change (shhh - don't tell my cycling buddies). I know that after I'm back doing Cathe's workouts again I'll miss Tony big time so I'll do another P90X rotation. That's just how I am. And during cycling season I'll probably mix everything in. And now that Tony has introduced me to yoga I hope to add that in regularly as well. Variety is the spice of life, right?

Hi Tracy,

THanks for your perspective. I'm curious, though, b/c you say you're about to complete the P90X rotation, but what you've done isn't exactly the rotation, since you've added cardio, right? So unless you were doing "extra" during the times you've rotated w/ Cathe, then it would be difficult to attribute all your gains to P90X. Scientifically, anyway... I have no doubt you've broken plateaus, but I wonder what exactly are the responsible factors?

Take care!
Laura

I couldn't get into them either as well as Slim Series. As much as I like her as an instructor, and I ready to sell the Slim Series! Annette

Laura-
Until Tracy responds.... P90X has 3 different rotations to choose from...1 of which IS additional cardio (Lean Rotation). So many of us follow Classic Rotation but just add in some extra cardio on days we feel up to it. So actually we're still doing exact P90X rotations with a blend of the Classic & Lean - if that makes sense.
:7

And actually you can follow the "Doubles" rotation which would be the Classic rotation (and maybe the Lean rotation?) with extra cardio added in - up to 3 times a week I believe. So it's not always just heavy on the weights and low on the cardio as the original poster mentioned at one point.

I am not a fan of the Slim Series either. That one I was truly bored and frustrated with! I was not fond of the fast repititions she would do. I didn't think they were a safe or effective way to work the muscles. I also couldn't handle the fact that she couldn't keep in time with the music when doing side steps, etc. That drove me crazy! LOL I am a fan of endurance work outs too so I was very disappointed to be disappointed. (LOL) I have heard many got good results with SS too so I am sorry I couldn't push through that one. I have since found Jari Love though and I am hooked! She is a queen of endurance weight work and I love it!!!:)

For the record...and sorry if I make anyone gag on this one...I much prefer Tony as an instructor over Debbie! *listens as the crowd GASPS* :p
