Lifting like girls

Actually had a great leg day...gotta get a hat that says "leg day survivor"! I was able to add 20# to my bench squat which is the most I've ever done on these. I used heavier weight probably 15-20 years agofor squats, but I know I wasn't going deep and while these are bench squats, not completely parallel, I did sit my "arse" down on it so it is close to parallel, but provided rest at low end which is far easier than conventional squats that y'all do. I did doubles at 245 and 255 and I'm "pumped bout it". Next I got out the 50# kb and did gob squats x20 x18 x15, kb swings x20 x18 x15 and 3x10 1 leg deadlifts. For calves I did 3x20 barbell calf raises and 3x20 single leg calf raises(no weight on these). Finished off with abs, 2 sets crunches 1 set side planks and 2 sets cable crunches. All in all it was a good day...for a leg day that is! Hiney was draggin! Have a great midweek friends!

Delt day here, no great achievements, but lotsa reps. I thought it might be a " go heavy" day, but NOT! I did do 13 sets of strict press, doing shorter sets on the way up to save for some heavy stuff, but wasn't there so a lot of long rep sets at the lower weight range on the way down. 3x12 side laterals, 3x12 rear delt flys and 3x12 front raises, and finished shoulders with barbell shrugs x30x25 x25. We are gaining on the weekend! Keep being special ladies!

Karen, self-destruction courtesy of HoCo. The sign of a true vidiot (says one vidiot to another). Way to work!

Tom, congrats on that 20# squat gain. Super! You had a gold medal day yesterday, and maybe not so much today, but you got it done and you should feel proud! Besides, the volume you go after would make most grown men and women weep out of fear. LOL!

Today I did Old School Cardio Plus Kickboxing Live (9/29/16). Wore my gloves, got a good sweat.

Arm day here and it went pretty well, no issue with ez bars, but I still have to lighten up the dumbbells. I did 5 sets of tri pushdowns/ez bar curls, 3 sets of lighter skullcrushers/ dumbbell curls and 3 sets of kickbacks/conc curls, finishing with 1 set of tri pushups(first pushups I have done in awhile) and bicep isos. I did 1 long set of cable crunches for abs and called it a day. We are heading to St Louis to see son 1 and wife, nothing big planned, but always great to see the FAM! Have a terrific weekend Commandos!

Whew, finally got around to working my arms today and did Shredded Upper Body w/Ball Live (8/25/16). First time doing this one. KILLER. There is an Overhead Triceps to Seesaw Pushups to Regular Pushups combo (all on the ball) that is relentless. Good stuff.

Tom, nice job with the weights today. Have safe travels and enjoy that family time!

Karen, hope you're well and enjoying your usual and well-deserved 3 day weekend!

Happy Saturday, Commandos! This morning I did Blast, Barre & Bands Live (11/19/15). I think this is my third time doing this one? It's a unique twist on a full body circuit routine. No muscle goes untouched. Love it!

Have a terrific weekend. Tom, safe travels, and Karen I hope you get some snow! (or take some of ours!!! LOL) Be back Monday.

Hi All! Got back this evening, and since it is going to be another short week for me, I started the week early. Chest and tri day, 12 sets of bench with a set of isos after each set. All bench still close grip, but I can live with that. Next I did 4 sets of tri pushdowns, 2 sets of kickbacks and a set of crunches and a set of cable crunches. I did only sets of 10 reps of isos instead of 20 reps, but I am still fried! Don't look now, but Monday is coming! Sleep tight with that in mind...ugh!

Lat and bi for me. 3 sets of chin ups, 3x8, 1, 30 sec flexed arm hang, 3 x 10 pullovers, 3x10 pulldowns, 3x10 and 1x8 ez bar curls and 4x8 conc curls. I did bump the ez bar up to 90#, and it was ok, but was definitely heavier on the last set. I used heavier in the past, but trying to be somewhat protective of the tendons, really tired of fighting tendonitis. I keep my hands narrow on these and it seems to help. May Monday get a "good day pass" in Commando land!

Tom, hope you had a nice trip. I'd say you got in a good doubles workout...Sunday night then early Monday morn'. Not too shabby. Show Monday who's boss!!!

As per usual, I had great plans when I went to bed last night for today's workout and then woke up with my no mojo Monday blahs. I opened up the Cathe Live page in search of something that just looked FUN and did Cardio Circuit Mashup Live (5/26/16). It did the job!

Let's kick this week in the butt, shall we? :)

Good evening friends.
Today was another KCM workout. Meltdown DVD, 1st workout. Metabolic. Very good!! I started out kicking this week in the butt. We'll see how the rest of the week goes. I started out the morning with the no mojo Monday blahs. Things did improve. Here's hoping to kick this week in the butt. Keep on keepin' on, everybody. Have a great evening!!

Kickbutt week continues! Leg day "in da books". Hit it pretty hard after hitting the snooze once, Lisa, know what you mean about morning reality after evening expectations! I did 5 sets of 8, bench squats from 45-225, 3x20 gob squats with 50# kb, 3x10 1 leg deads, 2x20 kb swings, 3x20 barbell calf raises and 3x25 single calf raises (no weight). Here's to keeping the MOJO on the GO GO!! Have a great Tuesday all!

Karen, you got KCM on my brain so I did KCM's Trim Down this morning. It's a combo of boxing (LOVE!) and weights. So perfect. I'm gonna have to buy Meltdown. Yeah, you kicked Monday in the butt, alright. It never had a chance!

Tom, I like that...mojo on the gogo! I've got more of it today. Hopefully it's contagious and we can just keep spreading it around to each other on our check-in. Way to rock out those legs today.

You know what helps with my mojo? White coffee. Have you guys ever tried the stuff? OMG it's the best.

Karen, I get my white coffee at Dutch Bros (they call it "sandy" so my order is a hot sandy Americano). The bean isn't actually white, it is just not roasted as long as the traditional black coffee. Some say the shorter roast time means more caffeine but that's debatable. I personally think it makes a sweeter, smoother, less acidic taste. You either love it or you hate it but both me and my DH only order the white coffee now. The Starbucks Flat White is different. It's the regular roast with whole milk, basically, IIRC. You gotta get yourself to Dutch Brothers Coffee!

Oh yes, I can see that I need to get to Dutch Brothers Coffee. Thanks for the tip. I will do Starbucks, (my DH loves it) but some days it seems over-roasted.
Today was another HoCo, Bootcamp. I must admit, they seem to be getting easier. But still very difficult.
I do recommend the new KCM. Happy that I ordered them.
Nice work on the "leg day" Tom. I know how much you love legs. Always good with the "live" Lisa.
Well, I'm off to pester DH about Christmas lights. That always goes over great. I just want a few. No climbing on a 40ft ladder. Not so great when your spending the holidays in the hospital. Have a great evening!

Ok, Lisa. I had to go to the Dutch Bros website. They only sell Keurig cups, Private Reserve and decaffeinated on line. I ordered Keurig cups and Private Reserve. Gonna give it a try. But, I may have to come back and buy a shirt.

Happy Hump Day friends! Today was shoulder day and I hit it hard. 12 sets of strictpress, maxing out at a single at 140, then a triple at 125, 110 x 5x3 and finished at 85 x15x10x10..whew, I felt them all! I went light on side laterals 3x12, 3x12 rear delt flys, 3x15 oly bar front raises and dumbbell shrugs x40 x30 x30, and finished with 3 minutes of planks and 1x25 cable crunches. Tomorrow is arm day then we leave in the afternoon to have our Christmas with the Florida kids, just a long weekend but always eager to see the FAM! I'm not a coffee drinker, so not much of an expert on the subject, kind of a diet pepsi guy (sort of an insight to my nutritional expertise) The week is half over...yay! Finish it up right!

As a post thought. I have only won 1 raffle in my life. We were at a dental meeting and my wife handed me a piece of paper and says "sign this". I said what is this? She says "a raffle ticket for a keurig coffee maker. I said "but we don't drink coffee", to which she says "you're not going to win anyway" WRONG, 2 weeks later a guy comes walking into my office carrying a keurig! Not a complete loss because we gave it to a charitable cause, but to think my one chance to win a lottery was wasted on a coffee maker???? I even drew a #353 on the draft lottery in 1969. That was ok. however I was in pre dent and at that time as long as your grades were good you were exempt...could have sold that number for a LOT! I still buy a lottery ticket once in awhile, but NO expectations!
