Least Favorite Cathe Workout?

If there is such a thing right?;-) But do you have a Cathe workout that just did not "click" with you? Here are mine.

Circuit Max...its supposed to be a weight training/cardio workout, but feels more like a straight on cardio workout, I felt like I did not get any benefits from the weights in this one. But I like looking at the boys.;)

High Step Challenge...have only done this one maybe three times. Just find the long fake ponytails interesting, plus am not a huge fan of my high step quite frankly. I much prefer Bootcamp.

Kickmax...the first drills do not get my heartrate up, and the blasts are okay, but alot of super high impact that I can't do at this point, so it leaves me feeling like I never really got a good workout. Much prefer Cardio Kicks.

4DS-High Impact Step--to this day, I still have not mastered this one.

Of course I am not complaining here, just curious since we listed our faves already!:7

I totally agree with your reasons for not "clicking" with Kickmax, HSC, and the High Impact Step from the 4DS. I am not a big fan of the 4DS in general.

I am also not a fan of hi/low, such that portion on SJP.

I say "ditto" to your list with the addition of Step Pump and Jump. I tried to do SPJ recently and pushed the Stop button within 5 minutes. Your reference to the fake ponytails is hilarious. The fake tans are Oompa Loompa-ish too.

I don't like the push/pull and superset combo dvd.. don't feel like it has anything useful on it :T

I don't have ANY of the step only dvd's (only if they have heavy weights on them), I don't do any DVD cardio unless it's kickboxing or bootcamp style (that's the only reason i don't like them, it's not because i think they're bad or anything, just not my style)

Power Hour and SH get on my nerves sometimes (the music in SH drives me nuts).. but Ive also mastered the art of silencing the music in some of the videos and tuning in my own :)

I hear everyone rave about the bodymax's and imax's and I still don't own one.. thinking about maybe picking one up to see..

S&H chest is so slow and boring, and just when I think I'm done, I have to do them on an incline.

I never could get into Cardio Kicks & Circuit Max. Also the Classics were not a favorite. The only ones of Cathe's that I traded or sold. I am still working on 4DS and really like the Kickboxing and Legs. Separately I don't find them that difficult but together they really get me.

HSC

HSTA (kind of liked it, but not enough to keep)

Imax3 (the combo of over-the-top impact and more complex choreo was a big turn-off, though I liked watching Cathe and crew do it...if it were a movie, I would have kept it).

HIS/LIS from 4DS (but I like the other two cardios, and love the weight work)

Step, jump and pump (just didn't click with me, and Cathe and crew looked strangely orangey, which didn't endear it to me any more)

Stretch Max (hated the music, hated the colors of the outfits, didn't like some moves that combined stretching with unsupported forward leans--like a pseudo warrior pose leaning forward)

I didn't like KM when I first got it (and I really wanted to, because of the music--though not loud enough--the overall look, and Cathe's improved form. I also liked the long, thorough warm-up). I was expecting something in the vein of KPC (which I loved), and this was a big disappointment. Also, the 'cheerleaderly' jumping portion was another one of those "it's nice to watch them do it, but I don't care to'). I sold it, then when I was desperate for a new KB workout--and had gotten more into modifying workouts, including Amy Bento's 1st KB workout--I reacquired it, and modify it to make it fit me better: no pivots in the first section, 'jumpiest' stuff taken to the rebounder. Now I enjoy it.

LIC - for me, the choreography is SOOOO repetitive and boring I want to claw my eyes out. I like the UB wts and ab work though

Kickmax for sure - I only use the warm up and leg drills. (I pair the warm up with the combos of KPC for a solid 30 min. KB workout.)

Cardio Kicks - the bad form combined with the boring hi lo moves makes this one unbearable for me.

4DS - I only like LIS/HIS. The KB workout doesn't have enough intensity (a 13 min. warm up??); BC has way too much high impact. Heavy wts don't click w/ me unless it's for LB and the 4DS LB one isn't long enough. I feel like I paid $60+ for a one hour step workout.

Drill Max - cardio too high impact. I'll probably sell this one.

Imax 3 - again, too high impact, probably on the sell pile too. Good music though.

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

1. 4DS LIS, I like the warmup but after that it goes down hill. The music is too slow imo for the workout if the music was better the workout would be great.

2. 4DS chest workout. Way to many pushups.:-(

3. MIC and Imax 1.

4. Cardio Kicks and Circuit Max

5. KickMax this one I just can't get into.

I have a weird history with Cathe workouts that I hate at first.....I usually wind up loving them. I sold Kick Max and Low Max 2x and wound up really liking them and I absolutely thought I was going to sell 4DS. BUt, once again, I wound up loving HIS and LIS. BUT, I STILL DO NOT LIKE BOOT CAMP!! I find it sooooo annoying...with all the equipment changes. And, I don't have a lot of room in my small Manhattan apt. I swear on one of the drills, I practically wind up in my bathroom.

Upperwests,

I at first thought there was to many equipment changes in bootcamp, I alleviated this problem by not using all of the markers. I think its really only a visual tool and imo not necessary. I still get a great workout but I don't need 4 weights for suicide runs, I use two or just touch down and then run back. I only pull out my step.

I only have a few least favs on my list...

Cardio & Weights...it's good in theory, but I just can't get into it at all. The cardio just annoys me for some reason. I can't really figure it out...I used to LOVE it when I first started with Cathe.

DrillMax and 4DS BC just seem too hard for me, and have too much impact. I'd like to like them, really I would, but I just can't bring myself to do them.

I like SJP, but almost always skip the hi/lo segment...though I rarely do this one at all anymore. I'll never sell it though, because I *heart* StepBlast!

Fun thread!

Hi,

Even though I have some workouts that I don't do very often (like The classics, Cardio hits, SS, P&P), it's not because I don't like them, rather because my tastes and goals have changed.

But, I don't care too much about Low Max, maybe because I'm too used to high impact stepping (and personnally, I don't like Cedie's outfit in that one, it bothers me that she's not at her best! She looks much better in Imax3 for example.)

I was also disapointed by CTX. I only do the step workouts for cardio (I don't care much for hi/lo and kickboxing hurts my hip) and I did not find it as intense as I expected. Also the choreography did not click with me at all.

Hi All

I love Cathes workouts, but IMAX3 is just too high impact and Low Max seems to hurt my knees which I have problems with. But I dont think I could ever part with them. Also 4DS is a bit of a disappointment.

Cheers
Laura
:)

Cardio Kicks and Circuit Max and CTX. I just didn't click with those so I sold them to help pay for STS. I'm still trying to make up my mind on Drill Max.

I know, I never do DrillMax either, or Bodymax2...I have done that one one time, too long, I get distracted and angry if I am forced to workout over an hour at once. I can split up my workouts, but hate working out that long.

I do however, do the cardio premix in reference to Drillmax, that is a goodie, it is higher impact, but does not hurt me like Imax 3 does!

I am more straightfoward, so the Gym Styles, the easier step workouts, and the kickbox--not Kickmax, appeal the most I think. I actually like MIC, but not the step portions...boring or something.:D

Oh, and I never used all of those markers in the 4DS Bootcamp, whats the point? You know how far to jump, etc,,,,thought that was just annoying actually.

Kick Max::Just doesn't click for me. I actually like the premixes better than the actual workout, but even then I usually end up subbing something else for it. Not thrilled with the leg work at the end. that would be better as a premix with GS legs than KM. I also don't feel I get as good an all over workout with this one.

BM and BM2:: I just can't get into a 90 min, or in BM2's case, a 90+min. workout!!; no matter how fun the step or the music!! Who has 90+ minutes to workout????:)

Deanie

I agree that 90 minutes is just way too long for a workout. BUt, the other day I did my own little premix for Body Max 2. I did the warmup, the power circuits and the abs parts and the whole thing was about an hour. I really loved it.....I thought the power circuits were a lot of fun and I liked that these focused on the lower body.

Step Jump and Pump -- there's not enough time to grab your weights before she starts a set.

Stretch Max -- that was just boring for me
