KK's February Rotation

Good morning Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

Great to read what everyone's doing! Thanks, Rhea and Jeanie, for the info on the squishy balls with TLT. I will invest in some, will check out Walmart. Have you two noticed any results/effects of doing these workouts? I'm looking forward to some variety in my workouts.

Jeanie, what is your site that Karen is referring to? I'd like to check it out also.

Karen, glad the leg is feeling better, but you're smart to give it a break and PUB is a great workout. I really think I've gotten most of my muscle definition from this workout and I only use the premix up.

Yesterday after work I jumped on my bike at 4:30 and was back by 5:30, rode 18 miles and had an average speed of 17.4, which I was pleased with. I'd really like to be riding that loop (basically flat loop but with a few hills thrown in) with an average of 18 mph by the end of the year. We'll see...

This morning I did Imax2 intervals 1-4 including warmup and the floorwork from GS legs. Total time approx. 1 hour. I really like the variety in the floorwork for GS Legs and yes, the band gets right in there.

We're going out to dinner tonite with 3 other couples (Rhea, we're trying out the Gables) so I will see about a fish dish or something healthy. I've done pretty well on my eating and my weight and body fat is down and I need to just keep this going.

Well, must run now. Great workouts everyone. Rhea, hope the trial goes well for you. By the way, what do you do? Are you a lawyer?

Jeanette

Jeanette - just a fast note before court....yep....I'm the Assistant Public Defender for Lassen County, so I get all the felony cases. The trial that is going is the trial that has been in the paper a couple of times. Oh joy, publicity too.:+

Happy Hump Day (that's what we call Wednesday here in PA)!

Karen Kay, I need to visit YOU more often over here! I just love hearing what you are up to. My life is so boring, so I live vicariously through you my friend!

Jeanette, I post over at the WHFN.com boards. I post under low-carbers and also under the food and exercise diary. Stop over and visit! I have noticed a definite improvement in my achy back since doing the TLTs. Also, as Rhea mentioned somewhere, I feel that my posture has improved.

Rhea, my little little eagle, hope the trial doesn't stress you out too much.

Well ladies, off to do some work!

-- Jeanie

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:)

It's always wonderful to come here and see how your days are going and how the workouts are going, too. I love it!

Rhea & Jeanie, you both made me smile. Thanks for that -- loved the comment on the publicity -- don't 'cha love it?:+ And Jeanie, you made my day with your sweet, sweet comments.

Those TLT's sound really good. Something I've noticed that I probably should comment on -- because I'm a little older than you three -- is that people my age sometimes begin to lose height -- lose bone mass. But I have noticed what with working out and stretching and taking calcium/magnesium, that my height got a little taller -- instead of 5' 3 1/2" -- now I'm 5' 3 3/4" -- not much but at least it's in the other direction. Two people who haven't seen me in a while have commented on my height -- and I'm not tall -- I think I'm just not losing the bone mass -- anyway, just my take on things -- but it's interesting.

Jeanette -- the bike ride sounds really good -- and it's great that your weight is down -- mine is up slightly -- not out of range, but enough that I need to concentrate on enough water -- hope your dinner date went well -- sounds like such fun!

Anyway, today I went for a 40 minute walk and stretch -- the hip/leg was a little sore and so I didn't want to stress it with PLB -- but I'm hoping to do PLB tomorrow -- we'll see.

Well, once again, it's late and I have much to do before bed -- so I hope you all have a simply fabulous day.:7

Oh, okay. I just quickly glanced thru the Times last night, but we'd just gotten back from the Gables and it was late. By the way, great meal, nice inside there now. Give it a try if you have time.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanie, I'll have to check out the WHFN board. My TLT's should be here today. Glad they've helped your back. Posture is always something I like to keep working on too. Bad posture is sure an age giveaway too. I've found yoga helps with that also.

Jeanette

Hi Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie!

Did PLB and Coremax #1 this morning. However, I just did lunges and deadlifts for the standing work and not even pyramiding them, just doing them and then the stability ball work, which I love. Karen, am wondering if you were able to do PLB this morning. Am hoping the leg is better too.

Went out for dinner last night with 4 other couples at a newly remodeled place. It was fantastic and the company was superb! Ate too much, but had such a great time.

Karen, yes, the bike ride was good and rewarding. Tonite is a bike club meeting, but before that, I have to clean the mud off of my horses legs, clip him a bit and just tidy him up as the horseshoer is coming in the morning. Have a pretty full weekend/holiday already lined up. Will try to fit in trip to Reno, shopping in Reno, riding my bike, riding my horse, housework... Notice how housework is at the end of the list.

Everyone have great workouts today!

Jeanette

What for it next week Jeanette.....Shayla Ashmore was there at trial yesterday afternoon, so it will make next weeks cut. I don't think there was anything this week. Have a great day! I must be fast, need to polish up closing arguments.

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:) :)

Wow, Rhea, closing arguments -- sounds very professional -- here's hoping it all goes your way.

Jeanette, hi! Took my day off for the week today -- leg still didn't feel up to PLB and so I just took the day off -- figured it might be better to rest just one more day -- but I am planning PLB tomorrow -- I also have Legs and Glutes here -- but I think I'll stick with PLB -- I think it's a slightly easier workout and I might need that right now.:+

I'm so glad to hear you talk about your horse again -- I love hearing about that -- many of my best friends are riders -- Lois Greiman, the author I toured with -- is a fine horsewoman.

That resturant sounds really nice, Jeanette. I'm still fixing stuff here for myself -- even though I'm away from home -- just seem to eat better that way.

Well, once again it's late -- have mmuch promo work I'm doing and it's keeping me up late.

Let us know how the trial went, okay, Rhea. We'll be thinking of you. Have some wonderful workouts, everybody and a terrific Friday.:7

Good morning Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

My day off today, I got the word on my work schedule starting in March: Instead of working from 6 a.m. to 4 a.m. M-Th, I will work from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. I'm okay with this, I was just hoping it wasn't going to be 7-5 as I then wouldn't be able to so easily do the bike rides after work.

Anyhow, my TLT's arrived yesterday. This morning I did Endurance For Movement. It was fun and really moved along. Have your equipment handy cuz you'll be changing a lot. It's a lot different than Cathe, but at times I did work up a bit of a sweat and was definitely working different muscles. After I learn the moves, I know it will flow a lot better for me. I can see where these really do have a place, so will alternate them with my Cathe. Think they will work out nicely.

Today I have the horseshoer coming, housework to do, pick up my bike at the bike shop and then DH and I will head to Reno to spend the night with DS and Cass. Tomorrow morning, Cass & I will hit Starbucks and then the Truckee River bike path for a nice ride (probably 14 or 15 miles). After that we'll all go spend a very nice gift card at Sportsman's Warehouse. Looking forward to this trip. Also will be doing another cycling ride and horseback riding with a girlfriend. Should be nice.

Karen, I hope your leg heals up soon. No fun having injuries. Right now, (knock on wood), I'm injury free and hoping TLT helps me to bump up my weights without getting hurt.

Great workouts and weekend to everyone.

Jeanette

Good morning!

I'm so anxious to get in the swing of routine again....

I'm glad that you like the TLT's Jeanette. I think they are going to be a great addition and will help train those muscles for everyday movement.

I don't know if I will be able to get in a workout today. I have to be available for the jury verdict. So it is sit here and wait.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:)

Must admit that I've been thinking about you, Rhea & Jeanette, this morning (it's Sat. morning). Am wondering how the trail went and all -- and couldn't wait to get to the forum to see how it all went -- so hopefully you will let us know -- I'm hoping it was all in your favor.

And Jeanette, I was wondering about the TLT's and how you like them -- I've been sort of waiting for your review. Sounds like they deserve a place in the rotation, huh? That's so cool to find something else that works.

Oh, hope you'll say "Hi" to Cass for me. I remember the Truckee River bike path -- when we were there in Reno, Lois Greiman and I ran along the path almost every morning. It's so beautiful. And what a fun day you have planned -- will be waiting to hear about it.

So just to keep up, yesterday I did do PLB -- but omitted the floor work in favor of a short (15 minute) walk. The leg felt it a bit, but the PLB seemed to help stretch the leg -- which, believe it or not, felt good.

Today was IMAX2 -- just to get in another day of anaerobics and plyometrics -- at first the leg protested a bit, but then I got into the music and moves (how I love this workout) and it went fine, I think -- doesn't seem to have further injured the leg (knock on wood).

Tomorrow, because I've already taken my day off, I would like to do ME -- my favorite workout -- but the DVD doesn't play well on my computer -- constantly stops -- so I might option for MuscleMax -- the slightly shorter version -- or perhaps Supersets -- or Push/Pull. We'll see -- was also thinking of High Step Challenge -- guess it will depend on what I feel like first thing in the morning tomorrow.

Things are going well here -- it's very humid -- and I have a dehumifier in my room, which helps, but the humity is something I'm not used to. Am taking a study course which is fun, but it's why my time is sometimes limited.

Anyway, have a wonderful weekend, everybody! And terrific workouts.:7

Good afternoon Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

Today was PUB up only premix including abs as I had a bike ride with 5 others. We did 41 miles and stopped along the way at a coffee shop. It was a good workout and fun too. When I got home, I hopped on my horse and had a good ride with him. We really are enjoying the sunshine, but looks like the weather will turn colder later this week.

Yesterday I rode on the Truckee River Bike Path with Cass (son's girlfriend). We did 15 miles but should have brought our mtn. bikes instead of the road bikes as the New Year's flood damaged the path in a lot of places and they are still working on it. Looks to me like they will repave it. It was a fun time, though. We did some shopping and acquired some nice things with the gift card to Sportsman's Warehouse.

Karen, I've only done the one TLT and I did enjoy it. It moves quickly. I still need to learn the moves so I can get the most out of the workout. I'll do another one this week and give you my opinion. Glad the leg is feeling better and that you could do Imax2.

Well, must go now.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:)

Sounds like a really, really fun day, Jeanette. Like a little bit of heaven, actually. So glad you got the workout in and bike riding, plus rode the horse. Hmmmm...just reading about it made me feel good.

Yes, the leg is definitely feeling better (yea). Today I did the 51 minute premix of HSC -- really like that workout, but I must admit that after doing PLB on Friday and then HSC today -- both of which have large calf sections, my calves are quite sore -- it's a good feeling, though.

Yes, do let me know about the TLT's -- I'm definitely interested -- although I'm not one usually for fast moves -- my form tends to drop out and I usually end up "eating crow," (injuring something or other). But I'm definitely interested. Is it Tracy Long that does these -- I really liked her in the FIRM workouts.

Anyway, thought I should post this weeks schedule, just to plan ahead a little. Am leaving off running for right now, until the leg completely heals -- as that's how I injured it.

Monday: PUB (up only) plus one of Cathe's workouts from Cardio Hits

Tuesday: IMAX3 -- hopefully I'll be up for this, if not, I might do it without a step

Wednesday: Legs & Glutes

Thursday: Off

Friday: IMAX2

Sat: KPC -- one of the shorter premixes or Bootcamp or HSTA

Sunday: All cardio day with one of Cathe's workouts from Cardio Hits

Am leaving off the Sprint 8's right now as that's how I injured my leg on Monday -- and am leaving off running right now, too, until the leg is healed -- but the IMAX's seem to be doing just as well in their place -- with no flair up of the injury -- so that's good.

Well, have a terrific day everyone -- and wonderful workouts.:7

Good morning ladies:

I have a horseback ride with a girlfriend planned for later this morning, am looking forward to it. Afterwards, I really need to get some housework done as I haven't done any yet this weekend...

Karen, today I did TLT's Better Burn, Better Buns. Tracie Long leads this workout and I really liked it, worked up a bit of a sweat and definitely felt the burn. I used a 3# dumbbell as I'm still getting the moves down. I felt like it was easier (choreo-wise) than Endurance For Movement but I was still a klutz. It's kind of like singing a song that you KIND OF know the words to. You're just a little bit behind. Anyways, I really liked it and I think I may be feeling it tomorrow. A person can always use more weight for the cardio moves and feel the exertion even more. You do so many different exercises and you don't do endless reps. DEFINITELY a place in my rotations. I feel like a lot of planning must have gone into these DVD's.

Must get in the shower, hook up the horse trailer, load up and be off for a ride.

Good workouts everyone!

Jeanette

Hi ladies!

Jeanette, I'm glad you are enjoying the TLTs. Did you buy all four? I think my favorite of the bunch is "Strength in Movement" with Jen Carmen. It's very enjoyable and I love the aerobic routines with the med. ball.

Karen Kay, I haven't done "Legs & Glutes" in ages. That was always one lower body workout that I enjoyed -- not a big dread factor for me.

I miss you Ms. Rhea!

Hope you all have a lovely evening!

Jeanie

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:)

It's good to see you both here and hear about what you're doing. The horseback rides sound really fun, Jeanette -- wish I weren't allergic to horses that have been in a barn -- it's so odd that if the horse is outside in the open air and does not get put into a barn -- I'm not allergic at all.

Gee, it's good to see you here, Jeanie. It's always a pleasant surprise to see your posts -- I really must visit you more often at your own site -- sometimes I don't realize that I miss you until I see your post. Am just a little swamped right now with doing a course and promo for the next book -- that's the only thing that keeps me from visiting more often.

Okay, am definitely interested in the TLT's -- okay -- that must stand for Tracy Long, huh? I really did like her in the FIRMs that I have -- and I liked Jen, too, although with Jen, for some odd reason, I have tended to injure myself doing her workouts-- maybe it's because she's so flexible and my trying to imitate her makes me not think of form...I don't know -- the FIRM workouts I have with her I tend to not do only cause each time I've come away with some minor injury. But Tracy Long -- loved her in the FIRM.

I miss you, too, Rhea -- hope all is well with you.

Realized this morning that I couldn't do PUB (up only) cause I'd just done weight work on Sunday -- so I did IMAX3 on a 4 inch step only and it wasn't so bad -- worked up a good sweat -- but it was more along the line of something I could do -- maybe I can work up to the 6" step again -- I've always done it on the 6" step, but it's difficult -- the 4" just felt more comfortable for that workout.

So anyway, I'm planning PUB (up only) for tomorrow and then either a 20 minute walk or 20 minute step routine.

Am busy with course and with promo for the new book -- hard to believe there's a new one coming out in April -- just finished doing all the galleys (or advanced reading copies) to bookstores and now I have to schedule the next tour -- have decided that since I have to drive home anyway, I'll just tour home...makes sense...

Anyway, have a wonderful day, everyone and terrific workouts.:7

Hi Jeanie,
Yes, I did buy all four. I still have to try Strength In Motion and Find Your Core. Very much looking forward to doing these. I really still need to get my form down before I can go a bit higher on the weights. I feel some slight DOMS this morning from BBBB yesterday, but I also did a trail ride on my horse too so don't know if that's what it's from too. It's all good.

Jeanette

Good morning Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

It was Rhythmic Step (in it's entirety) for me this morning. Felt good and my mind was on the workout so I didn't mess up very many times. I worked on a rotation last night for this week so here it is:

Monday: Better Burn, Better Buns - have slight DOMS from this

Tuesday: Rhythmic Step and bike riding after work with girlfriends

Wednesday: Slow & Heavy Biceps/Triceps, Imax2 intervals 1-4 or whatever fits in 1 hour.

Thursday: Lowmax step only, no blasts in morning - Spinerval in PM

Friday: Slow & Heavy Back & Chest, KPC for rest of the hour

Saaturday: Find Your Core (looking forward to this one!)

sunday: Slow & Heavy Shoulders, Coremax #2 and Bike ride if weather okay

Karen, hope your leg is healed up, sounds like it must be doing pretty well for you to do Imax3. Yes, I enjoyed the horseback ride yesterday with a girlfriend. It was beautiful out on the desert. Afterwards, we both had a beer and enjoyed it immensely!

Take care everyone, good workouts and it's back to work today. Oh yeah, Happy Valentines Day!!!

Jeanette

Good morning all!

So glad to "see" everyone doing great. Isn't the weather just hunky Jeanette? Of course, it is just a tease. Supposed to be really cold starting Weds night or Thursday. At least it hasn't been warm enough for the trees to bud out.

Back to the routine for me....yippeee...I did Endurance for Movement yesterday. Managed better form in most of the moves. I still suck at some.

Cardio is today. Not sure what I want to do. Rhythmic (why can't I ever spell that right?) Step sounds good, but not sure I want to do step. I'll see what type of mood I'm in when I get home.

Tomorrow I have to take the car in for its 40k check-up; so I get to spend the day in Reno. Now if I could only get to Mt. Rose somehow, I could just ski while I wait.
