KK's February Rotation

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Well, it was a rest day for me today, and I did need it -- was up late again last night working and so sleeping in was great.

Jeanette, bet you're right -- bet the cross country skiing would be different now.

Hope your time with your horse was great -- I miss my animals -- especially the cats -- they're like my kids.

Anyway, tomorrow will be IMAX2, I think since it's been a while since I've done anaerobics -- and then PUB -- up only plus a run or cardio on Sat. and Legs & Glutes on Sunday, I think.

Anyway, have to run and see if I can get some more work done. Have a happy Friday and wonderful workouts.

Good morning all!

Karen - I can't believe you are still in FL. How long are you stuck there?

Weather here is fantastic. Skiing should be awesome this weekend. But it is the tempting type of weather for yard work.

Let's see. Yesterday I forgot to post. Shame on me. What workouts....Wed was an older Calorie Killer II, but not the weight part and added on Kathy Smith's timesaver cardio. Yesterday was EFM with a shorter TJam that I have which is only 20 minutes. I had so much fun with the TJ that I did it again today after Jiggle Free Buns.

Tomorrow is supposed to be an active rest day. It will either be skiing or a new Yoga tape that I have. Yoga Burn.

Hi Rhea & Jeanette -- Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Rhea, I have Calorie Killer II -- the older one -- forget the name of the instuctor -- but it's a good workout -- also I just love Calorie Killer with Nancy Tucker -- one of my all time favorites.

Can't wait to get home and try those TJ's. They really do sound like fun. Don't you love the active rest days -- although sometimes for me, they are simply rest days.:+

It was IMAX2 today for me and I loved it! Must be keeping in shape while I'm here -- yes, I'm still here in Florida -- will probably be here through March and then tour home in April with the new book. I'm taking a class now and it will probably take me through March.

But hubby will probably visit again in March -- and then I'll tour home and be under deadline. Huh...

Hope you are all having a simply wonderful day and that you'll have a terrific evening.:7

Just one more thing: Since time was running out, and I know I'll end up ordering them anyway, I preordered Cathe's new DVD's -- also ordered Step Blast -- this now completes that series for me -- I think I'm leaning to pre-order -- you do tend to save -- if one can afford it all at once...

New series I want to get is CTX and the TJ's.

Have a great one.:7

Hi Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

I didn't work out this morning as I stayed up late and watched the Tour of California bike race coverage on ESPN2 at 10 p.m. After that, I just couldn't get my mind to stop. I got told yesterday my hours will be 7-5 (4-10's) and at first, it just didn't sit well. I have decided to go for it anyway as I love the extra day off a week. When I want to bike with friends at 4:30 or 5:00, I will just take an hour off as I have a lot of time on the books at work.

Anyhow, when the alarm went off at 4:15 this morning, I just felt I needed a couple more hours of sleep and I knew I would have a bike ride tonite with a younger, really good girl rider (she's 20 years old). We did have our ride, she's really, really, fast and it was great and fun. I hope we can ride together once a week. Tomorrow, I will do TLT's Endurance For Movement. I'm loving these workouts. Did I tell you that I did TLT's Strength In Movement on Wednesday and I still have DOMS in my butt today!!!! I've never had DOMS from any of Cathe's workouts in my butt before.

Tomorrow, I am doing a reining clinic (on my horse) at a local arena. I've been away from this type of riding for a while and realize my horse will never be really good at it as he's not really built well for reining. I'm going just to have a good time and mix it up with some friends. Should be nice weather wise. Sunday, is the group bike ride and I hope it's not too windy as there is a storm coming in.

Rhea, let me know if you have an extra weighted ball that you might want to sell. The one's Walmart has are 2 in a pack and I don't need 2. I'm also going to be looking for a bowflex type machine as DH seems to be interested in something like that. His PT is going well and already he has soooo much more range of movement in the shoulder.

Well, I'm going on and on. Will check in tomorrow.

Jeanette

Good morning,
Today it was TLT's Edurance For Movement. I enjoyed this one more because my balance was better during the moves and I got it and could concentrate more on listening to her form tips. I really think these TLT's will help my bike riding because for that you really use your core too. In fact, just thinking about it, when I wasn't as strong, I would "collapse" into my bike when I got tired. Now, that doesn't happen until much later in the ride and I think these DVD's will keep me much stronger in the core. Karen, I keep thinking of you when I do these.

Today is my reining clinic so will get in the shower, hope the pickup starts this cold morning and get a move on.

Great workouts and a nice weekend to everyone.

Jeanette

Hi Everyone!

Didn't get a workout in today -- was up last night until about 2:30 AM -- just couldn't get to sleep and so I slept in during my exercise time.:-( Am hoping to get on track tomorrow, but because I missed out on the PUB - up only -- I'll do some circuit workout -- probably Bootcamp -- it has become my favorite of the circuit type of workouts.

Went to Collage and read about the TLT's -- they look really good and I do remember Tracy from the FIRM -- also Jen and of course Susan Harrison. They might certainly make a good addition to my growing collection... But I might wait on them until I'm home -- I hesitate -- only because I used to injure myself doing the FIRM -- loved the FIRM -- but on certain workouts, I would come away with something pulled -- usually in my chest or shoulder area -- sometimes the neck area. So I hesitate. But I'll probably end up getting them eventually -- they do look good, and thanks to Cathe, I know my form a little better these days.

Hope you had fun at your reining clinic, Jeanette -- I love that you do this with your horses -- hard to believe what's happening internationally with these incredible animals.

Have a terrific bike ride tomorrow, as well -- and I think it's great that your hubby is doing well on the PT. Yea!

Do well, have fun and have a super workout.:7

Good morning ladies:

Just a quick check in before the group bike ride today. Had a wonderful time at the reining clinic yesterday. There were about 20 some people participating and all the horses did well. Lots of green and fresh horses. No one fell off, thank goodness, though there was a little excitement from time to time. It was lots of fun, ending with a potluck, nice time to socialize too. I met a gal that I'd gone to 8th grade with over in the Fall River Mills area so we got to talk a bit about that. Nice change of pace and my horse did well. Dressage has really helped both of us and it crosses over to the western riding too.

Today I did a short Gilad arms and shoulders workout. Just looking for a change of pace.

Rhea, do you like the Slim Series? Is it effective? I'd really like to slim my thighs more and get more definition to the upper body. What do you think? I've been reading about them, hear they are repetitive.

Karen, what is going on with the horses internationally? Guess I haven't heard. Wow, you are going to be in Florida a lot longer, huh? I'd have a hard time being away from my DH so long. Glad he will get to visit with you from time to time.

Have to get a move on now.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!;)

Good evening -- it's evening right now as I post. What fun the clinic sounds, Jeanette -- I love dressage and have two friends who compete in it -- if I weren't so allergic to horses that have been in a barn, I think that I, too, would want to be riding. I love horses. The thing internationally is the use of horses here for meat overseas -- it's a bit controversial and so we could email each other privately if you want more info.

Did Bootcamp today and wore shorts for the first time in ages --noticed that my thighs have more muscle definition -- and believe it or not, the skin is tightening up in the legs so that the dimples (the cellulite) isn't as noticeable as it used to be. Funny thing is, although I don't weigh less (in truth, I weigh a bit more than what I like) -- but my clothes still fit and I'm slimmer in the hips. It makes me realize again how important exercise is as we age. Gives me hope that eventually these face exercises will pay off.

Am still debating those TLT's. Probably will continue to do so for a while. Also, went to Amazon and bought some more books on nutrition and dieting -- goodness, I can't seem to stay away from the subject.

Anyway, need to post this week's rotation, so here goes:

Monday: I'm actually going to attempt a Sprint 8 -- I'll watch it on this and won't push myself if I feel the hip is not ready for this yet.

Tuesday: Supersets -- I'm doing the Blast series more and more because the DVD's play better on my computer's DVD player

Wednesday: Cardio (run or step) and stretch

Thursday: Off

Friday: IMAX 3 or 2 depending on my mood -- if IMAX3 -- I'll do it on a 4" step

Saturday: PUB -- up only and some form of cardio

Sunday: Legs & Glutes -- am getting to like this workout -- I might only do the standing legs segments and then some cardio -- am putting in more cardio as I'm about 2 lbs heavier than I was when I came here -- and even then I was 2 lbs heavier than what I like.x(

Have some terrific workouts, everyone, and a great day.:7

Good morning Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

Yesterday it was 47 miles on the bike with about 3000' of climbing. There were 8 of us for some early climbing. We'd planned on going a little further than that before the turnaround point, but the wind had kicked up pretty good and we knew it could be brutal coming back so we turned around a little early. It was a good ride, though, and my bike fitness is good for this time of year.

This morning was an all cardio day so I did 1/2 hour of MIC (floorwork) and then parts of RS and a cooldown for the rest of the hour. It was a fun workout and I'm feeling good with the cardio, even though I'm not doing quite so much.

I'm also interested in the Slim Series and wondering if working this way would be better for my body. Maybe need to change some things up. Haven't made the plunge yet but maybe. I'm thinking of alternating cardio days with it. Rhea, have you had good results with the Slim Series as I think you may be doing some of these?

After work today is a massage. Looking forward to it very much.

Karen, isn't it great to see definition in the legs? That is really my tough area, that and hips. You'd think the cycling would help and I'm sure it does, but not as much as you'd think.

Great workouts today, ladies. It's pouring rain outside.

Jeanette

Good morning!

Wasn't here this weekend (well, on the computer that it) Jeanette...I got the Slim Series and then sold it. Was too basic and boring and repetive for me. Never got my HR up and I was constantly watching the time on the bottom for it to be done. Oh, I have both the 3lbs and the 5lbs sets. You are welcome to have one of them.

Don't know what I'll be doing today. It is slated for an all cardio, so I'm thinking of Step Blast if I have enough energy.

Hi everyone,

I can't believe the month is almost over. I have been away from the computer alot this month so just haven't been able to post. Let's see, I was really sick the last week of January into the first week of Feb. so my workouts were really thrown off. Then we had a skiing trip planned so I did ski the first weekend of Feb and felt ok, a little tired. Came back home and have stuck with a light workout schedule as I just felt like I wasn't recovered from the cold/flu I had. We went skiing again last Monday and I felt alot better but I rented these terrible skis - too long and the wrong shape and had a little knee pain last week so have just been doing weight and some low impact. Finally decided to just buy ski for myself and my spouse so avoid the bad ski rentals in the future and since I think we will continue to do several ski trips per year.

Am going on a 45 minute run/walk now.

Natalie

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Nice to hear from you, Natalie! Sounds like fun, though, all the skiing trips -- both you and Rhea and Jeanette have been skiing this winter -- I'm in Florida...

It was an all cardio day for me today, too -- I'll have to change my rotation -- was going to do a Sprint 8 (Natalie, a Sprint 8 is sprinting for about 30 seconds, then walk back, then sprint, then walk back, etc -- for 8 times) -- but the hip objected and so I made my workout a walking/running workout for about 35 minutes -- then a 20 minute stretch -- about 55 minutes all total.

Rhea and Jeanette -- it's raining there? It's sunny and beautiful here -- not too hot, not terribly cold -- although I think people from Florida might disagree with me on that one.

A 37 mile ride -- and 3000' climb. Wow! Impressive. Does make me want to get out my bike.

Yes, Cathe workouts have been good for my legs -- the thigh area specifically -- toning them up -- still have some cellulite to get rid of, but in certain lights, you can't even see it -- and before it was easy to see.

Jeanette, have you asked Cathe her advise on it? Just wondering -- also how's the diet? -- I think that diet plays a part in it, too. Noticed a difference in the cellulite, as well, when I gave up wheat and all processed grains, as well as giving up sugar and fruitous. Those two things -- the processed grains and sugars must have contributed to the cellulite, I think -- only because again, giving them up made a difference in the appearance of the cellulite -- and each year, as I continue to not eat such things -- and exercise each day, the area seems to get better.

Am going to have to change the workout plan for the week since I didn't do the Sprint 8 and might not be able to do any sprints for another few weeks yet. So...

Monday -- cardio and stretch -- done

Tuesday: IMAX 2

Wednesday: Supersets

Thursday: Off

Friday: IMAX 3

Saturday: Legs & Glutes

Sunday: PUB -- up only, plus a short cardio -- step most likely

Have a great day, everyone!:7

Good morning Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

So good to hear from everyone! Well, this morning was TLT's Finding Your Core. I could really focus on the core more and enjoyed it. It doesn't get the heart rate up, but don't think it's designed to. I did go up in weight on a few of the moves but do watch myself on the shoulder area as it is definitely a weaker spot for me. Right now is almost TTOM and I'm sure holding onto the water weight! Gets so frustrating. I'm drinking and drinking and not really having to go to the bathroom much. Maybe today will be different. Yesterday was my massage and it was very relaxing. I may try to get a little cardio in after work today.

Yes, Karen, I will have to watch my eating more. The weekends are tough and it seems like I've had some event every weekend. The carbs seem to be just like a sponge and soak up water?

I did talk to my boss yesterday and on the days that I bicycle with friends after work (probably only once a week), he is going to let me flex my hours (come in early so I can leave early). Thought that was good and will make the 7-5 schedule better. The plus side is that I can sleep in an hour more. He also said not to give up, he is still trying to get the 6:30 to 4:30 schedule.

Rhea, I'll take you up on the ball offer. Let me know when a good time to drop by would be. Hey, some rain here, huh? So glad I don't live by the river as that's always a worry for those folks. It's bad enough having the sagebrush nearby and I worry about fires.

Great workouts and clean eating to everyone today (me especially!).

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Just called my hubby to see if he could shed any light on why you might be retaining water -- I know I tend to do that here in Florida -- but the only thing I can think of is that per the book, YOUR BODY'S MANY CRIES FOR WATER, it could be that you're drinking water at times when it's not as efficient as it should be -- if I remember correctly from the book, one should drink 1-2 glasses of water 1/2 hour before a meal -- and then 2 more glasses of water (minimum) 2 hours after a meal. The body does need water to help digest the food -- but too much water when one is eating actually slows down digestion.

You might give that a try and see what happens.

It is so cool that your boss is working with you on your schedule -- sounds like a good boss -- or at least one who tries.

Well, for me today it was IMAX2 -- a workout that I love -- it just doesn't play real well on my computer, but toward the end it corrected itself...which was nice.;-)

Tomorrow is Supersets -- and I'm looking forward to it. Did a radio interview today on Native America Calling -- it was an hour long interview, with people calling in -- and it was fun, as well as interesting.

Well, have a terrific evening, a super day and wonderful workouts, everyone!:7
