KK's February Rotation

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:)

Ah, Rhea, it's so good to hear from you. But I'm really, really curious as to how the trial went -- did it go well for you? I sure hope so. Must feel good to get back to a normal pace, huh?

Jeanette, I really like the looks of your rotation -- looks like a good one. These Tracy Long DVD's really have peaked my interest -- did I spell peaked right -- I can never remember if it's peeked or peaked -- oh, well...

And the horseback ride in the desert sounds simply lovely. As for my rotation, did PUB -- up only this morning, but didn't do the walk or stretch -- got involved in doing my hair -- washed it -- and it takes forever to do after it's washed.:+

Tomorrow is Legs & Glutes, which I'm really looking forward to doing -- I've only done it once or twice and I remember really liking it. Hope it plays well on my computer.

Did everyone have a wonderful Valentine's DAy? Anything special or a quiet evening at home? Sometimes I think I'd rather opt for that quiet evening at home...

Here's to a great day tomorrow and terrific workouts everyone.:7

Good morning Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

Yes, Rhea, it was a tease. I didn't wear much of a jacket to work and both times when I walked up for the mail run, I wished I'd brought something heavier. Hope you enjoy Reno. I'm going to Mt. Rose on March 3 to ski, haven't skiied in years! I'm sure to be extremely sore.

This morning I did S&H biceps and triceps (excluding abwork). After that, I tacked on the first 4 intervals of Imax2. Total workout time was 1 hour and 20 minutes. The S&H's all take time so I started my workout a little sooner in order to get the cardio in. Feel really good but too puffy this morning as DH had made corned beef and cabbage for dinner and I had a big bowl of it. He cooks really well and it was so tasty, but he uses a lot of salt and you know what salt does to me. My face is so puffy this morning! Oh yeah, I cycled with a girlfriend after work yesterday. It was windy, but we planned on getting the headwind at the beginning of the ride and once we turned the corner to come back, we sailed! It was fun, but chilly.

Rhea, The TLT Endurance For Movement I've only done once and boy, was I klutzy. The moves will be challenging for me to get but I can see where they will really help my balance. I'm looking forward to FYC later this week.

Karen, hope the leg has healed up well. Legs & Glutes I've only done a few times for some reason and not recently. Just not one of my favorites yet.

Good workouts today. I'm going to be sucking down the water big time. Glad the bathroom is near my desk.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:)

Sounds like great weather you're having there in good ole' CA. I miss it -- but one thing I must say about Florida is that the air is so clean and wonderful on the lungs -- LA air just doesn't compare...:+

Sounds like a fascinating workout, Jeanette -- just biceps and triceps and abs and then the IMAX2 short set. Also must applaud you for the long workout. Well done, Jeanette.

Was looking at my schedule and notice that I have marked the day off for myself tomorrow -- actually I think I'll work out, though I'm not sure what I'll do -- think I might just do a cardio step and stretch -- the stretchs make the leg feel better -- as do the workouts for legs & glutes.

Did Legs & Glutes today and really liked it -- more than anything, the DVD played well in my computer, which makes a big difference -- for whatever reason my Intensity Series (which is my favorite) doesn't always play well on my computer.

The leg is so much better, but not quite healed all the way, and so I'm still avoiding running and sprinting at the moment -- the other workouts seem to do well.

Just bought four new books -- can't stay away from bookstores -- two are on nutrition and diets and such and two are research books for thenew book that I should be writing... Oh, well. Soon, I hope to have the scheduling done and back to writing.

Well, have a wonderful day tomorrow and terrific workouts, everyone.:7

Hi Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

Yes, Karen, the weather WAS great... It's now turned cold, but should be fairly clear today. My DH and I have to drive up to Tahoe today for a dr. appointment. Hope the roads aren't too bad up higher. Think they got a little dusting of snow around the Reno area. DH's shoulder is feeling better and he's itching to start doing some exercises for it. Hope the dr. approves of it today.

Today I did all of Lowmax (step only premix) on an 8" step. It's a pretty darned good workout and only 44 minutes long, including warmup and stretch. Perfect for me. I hope to do a Spinerval when we get home from the dr's appointment this afternoon.

I slammed the water yesterday and went down 3 pounds, though I'm still right where I always seem to stay! Karen, I really need to order that book you suggested about your bodies many cries for water. I looked it up one day, but just didn't order it that time.

Glad the leg is getting better, Karen, and that you've been able to keep up the workouts. Thank goodness we have so many different ways to work the body. When the weather gets better, think I will start running again.

Must go now,

Jeanette

Good morning!

Jeanette - they got more than a dusting! I was driving on the ice slick roads yesterday morning. It took me an hour to get from Bordertown to the other end of Reno where the Audi dealership is. Luckily for you though, the roads were perfectly fine on the way home. All dried up.

Karen- it was a guilty plea (not very surprised at that, but hope always springs eternal)

Well, gotta run and get some work done. Have a great day!

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:)

It's really good to hear from you, Rhea. Oh, okay -- sorry about that plea -- I'm assuming that the guilty plea is not what you wanted -- but you worked hard on it and most often this sort of hard work pays off -- sooner or later -- in some way shape or form. How's the wo
rkouts coming now that the trial is over?

Jeanette, what was the doctor's verdict -- can your DH do some exercising? I know I'd be biting at the bit -- well, most likely -- depending on how I felt.

We did very similar workouts today, Jeanette -- I did the step only from IMAX3 -- only 31 minutes long -- and then a 20 minute stretch -- it was a good workout -- even worked up a sweat. Did you manage to get in your Spineval? Sorry if that's misspelled.

Oh, and the book on water is called YOUR MANY CRIES FOR WATER -- water is always my ace in the hole when it comes to weight and keeping it off or getting it down. Good ole water.

It was a beautiful day here today -- the air is so pure and clean, it's such a pleasure to just breathe -- when you're from LA -- air means alot -- on tour last year, I kept commenting on how clean the air was in different places -- that and wondering where the cows were -- hardly saw any cows on the trip, which seemed unusual to me.

Anyway, tomorrow is an anaerobics day -- I have IMAX2 planned -- wish that played a little better in my computer. But I'll get by.

Have some wonderful workouts, everyone -- stay alert on the roads -- and have a simply super day.:7

Hi Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

Had a good day yesterday. Our trip to Tahoe was smooth. Our appointment was at 11:45 and we were out of there by noon. All that driving for 15 minutes, but good news was that DH can now start PT. He will go 3X a week for 4 weeks. Also may be able to go back to work (light duty) in another 3 weeks. I made an appointment for Monday (it's a holiday so I'll go with him for the first one).

Karen, I didn't do the Spinerval, but did a bike ride (20 miles) in about 35 degree weather, which is difficult on the breathing, but was a good workout anyway as I pushed (like intervals).

This morning I did most of S&H Chest and Back, leaving out a few sets as I wanted to do about 1/2 hour of KPC. S&H's take time, but I just modify for my schedule. I find them relaxing to do, as opposed to the Pyramids which are much faster. Actually, I like both, they are just different, but both are effective for me.

Tomorrow (Saturday) I will do TLT Finding Your Core and am looking forward to this one. I still need to go down to Walmart and look for squishy balls. Maybe after work today.

I just put the dogs out and there is a light snow falling. Sunday may be better so hope to ride my horse then and Monday looks warmer so will try to round up some riders to do a bike ride on that day.

Karen, fresh, clean air is so nice. Think I take it for granted too much as it's so nice here. Tahoe was beautiful yesterday and DH drove so I could gaze out at the lake.

Good workouts to all.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Am logging on a bit earlier than usual today, just to say Happy Weekend everybody.:7

That's interesting, Jeanette, about what you said about S&H. I don't have that series and so I can't give an opinion, but relaxing sounds really good. It's what I like about Cathe's stretches -- they are relaxing -- I have a few other strech workouts, but they aren't necessarily relaxing. The S&H sound fascinating to me. By the way, is there a 30 minute workout on KPC -- if so, could you tell me which one it is? Sometimes, it's all I have time for -- or I could combine it with the Pyramids or something.

It was IMAX2 for me today and it was great -- wish the DVD played better in my computer -- but at least I know it well enough to follow along no matter what. Tomorrow is a cardio/weight day for me -- not sure which workout I'll do -- or I might just make it a weight day and do Push/Pull or something. We'll see -- then Sunday is my day off -- yea! Or I might reverse these and take Saturday off and do Bootcamp on Sunday -- one of my favorites -- and I think it plays well in my computer, as well.

Jeanette, I'm so glad that your husband is going to physical therapy now -- yea! He must feel great about that -- and the trip to Tahoe sounds so good. When I was there in Reno, I didn't get to Tahoe and sometime I'm going to have to go there, just to take in the beauty of it. One of my favorite movies was filmed there -- an old movie called Rose Marie with Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy.

Hope your ride with your horses is good, too, oh, and I'm glad you got in the bike ride -- despite the cool weather -- that cold is long gone now, right?

Well, have a terrific weekend and wonderful workout everyone. Hope the weekend is filled with all good things.:7

Good morning ladies:

Woke up to about 5 inches of snow outside. Maybe my plans for this weekend won't pan out (horseback riding on Sunday, bike riding on Monday), but I can always do some housework.

Today I did TLT's Finding Your Core. I liked this workout. These workouts are definitely hitting areas that I haven't touched in a long, long time. I like how they make my core feel flatter. I did notice that Susan Harris seems breathless in these, doesn't seem to have a lot of endurance, but still, these are good exercises and you can go heavier on the weights. Some of them I will go easy on cuz I don't have the form down yet. Also, there is a move where you are standing and use one leg to roll the ball to the side and back toward you. Be careful as I felt a twinge (not painful, just something shifting) in my left knee. These are definitely not boring, over and over moves. Actually, I've always thought that the more and higher intensity you do, the more you have to keep doing that to get results. That's why these are nice, to change things up and keep your body guessing. I still have one more workout to do, TLT's Strength in Movement. I'll do that one sometime soon, though. These workouts are all under 1 hour long and really feel good on the stretches. I liked using my stability ball so much in this one (FYC). Anyway, I think they are a great change of pace and I will keep mixing them in with my Cathe's.

Karen, my cold is mostly all gone. It's just a little bit of post nasal drip, yuk. But each day it is less. So many others have really gotten sick at work, much more than my sickness has been so I feel fortunate.

Karen, there is no 30 minute KPC, just various premixes that are longer than 30 minutes. I just picked the Cardio Conditioning premix and quit when I got to 30 minutes, then added on a mix and match stretch. DVD's are great, aren't they?

Good workouts to everyone. I hope to get in the bathroom and decorate it today, beings outdoor stuff will be at a minimum today (unless I get out the skis or snowshoes).

Jeanette

Good morning Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

This morning I did CTX All Step including the shoulder work and then previewed TLT's Strength In Motion. I must say this one looks like it will be really good for me and fun with lots of variety. I may do it tomorrow morning.

Was supposed to ride my horse today, but we still have snow on the ground. Not the ideal footing for working my horse, especially if the ground underneath the snow is frozen. Tomorrow is supposed to be a group ride and temps warmer. We'll see. Doesn't look to warm outside. I'm thinking of getting my snowshoes out today and doing a bit of cardio with them. Maybe I can get DH to go with me too.

Rhea, I went to Walmart to check out the squishy balls but they sell 2 in a package. Think they had 3# and 5#. I really only need one ball. Did you buy the 2 in a package and want to sell one of them? Let me know, otherwise I'll just hold off for a while and use dumbbells, though it looks like for doing the cardio the balls are easier to handle.

Hope everyone has a great day today.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:7

Sounds like a really nice winter you're having up there, Jeanette, with snow on the ground -- it's been so long since I've lived somewhere where there is snow on the ground -- it must be nice to wake up and see all the white on the ground -- I remember when I used to live in Vermont -- and also in Virginia -- that I loved that.

Used to do some cross country skiing in Vermont -- but I was never very good at it, I must admit. Did you and DH go out in the snow at all? That, too, sounds like a great plan.

The TLT's sound very interesting and when I get home, I am going to look into them -- I have loved Susan Harris from the FIRM videos, as well -- and I'd like to see her doing some more. I, too, love the flat feeling of the abs -- mine are a little big right now, however...hmmmm...

Actually I looked at the premixes on KPC and decided to do one of the 51 minute workouts. It was very good. That KPC video is very good. Funny thing about my computer is that the workout picture and the words and music don't necessarily go together -- not a problem if I know the workout, but when I don't...

Really enjoyed the workout, however. Well it's Sunday evening and I usually post the workout schedule for the week on Sunday, so here goes:

Monday: IMAX3 -- on the 4" step -- I gotta work back up to the 6" step on this one.

Tuesday: Either MuscleMax (one of the premixes) or Push/Pull

Wednesday: KPC cardio -- that sounds like fun -- plus a good stretch

Thursday: IMAX2 -- more anaerobics

Friday: PUB (up only) plus cardio -- either a run outside -- if the leg is up to it -- or one of Cathe's cardio's

Sat: Legs & Glutes -- really liked this workout -- even more than PLB

Sunday: Off

Pretty simple plan for the week, but simple is good right now -- lots of work I have ahead of me...

Hope you had time to work on that bathroom, Jeanette.

Well, hope everyone has wonderful day!:7 And have some great workouts, too.:)

Good morning ladies:

It's a bright, beautiful sunny (cold) morning here! We have a bike ride at 10 a.m. but don't know how many will show up with the cold.

My workout schedule for the week will go like this:

Monday: PUB upper body, cycling

Tuesday: Imax2

Wednesday: TLT Strength in Movement, walking in evening

Thursday: CTX Cardio Kickbox, cycling in evening

Friday: Terminator workout, walking in evening

Saturday: TLT Endurance for Movement

Sunday: Rest

Yesterday, besides my step workout in the morning, I went out for a snowshoe walk, approx. 40 minutes. It was a good workout and I'm feeling it in my buns this morning. Oh yes, my eating was appalling this weekend, I'm up in weight so will work on my eating. Think that will make more difference than any tough workouts will. Also, I need to stay away from the popcorn at night. It doesn't have butter on it, but it does have salt, which wreaks havoc with me! Actually, I stood on the scale and had to look again as I haven't seen that number before. I'm back to tracking calories. Sigh,...

On the plus side (besides my weight), I went up in weights for PUB for triceps and back work. Also did more reps at the highest weight (12#) for biceps and it wasn't tough. Felt very strong today. Triceps I did at 10# on the kickbacks for the highest weight. I need to get some 20# DB's or else get some platemates. Going from 15# to 20# is such a jump

Karen, I like your rotation. Wish you were here and we could go do a run together. Think I will start running soon, just to shake things up. Of course, the snow has to melt first...(sounds like I'm stalling).

Oh yes, Karen, I did hang up my pictures in the bathroom. Looks okay, but I'll be on the lookout for some little knick-knacks to put in there too.

Today, DH starts physical therapy for his shoulder so I'll go with him on the first one.

Must go, shower and get ready for the bike ride. If it doesn't happen at 10 due to the cold, I may wait until noon for a ride by myself. We'll see.

Jeanette

Good morning ladies:

It was a combo of Imax2 and Lowmax for me for a total of 1 hour. I liked doing this and less impact on the joints too.

Yesterday's bike ride had 5 of us showing up and doing a total of 28 miles as it was very cold in the morning. Don't think it was above 32 when we started but by the time we finished think it was around 36 or 37 degrees. We stopped 1/2 way at a coffee house and warmed up with coffee (no snack for me!) and returned to town. Was warmer on the return trip as we didn't have any wind resistance on us and we were not hugging the hillside. Anyway, great company and think we were all very pleased we'd gotten out to do it. It was a bright, beautiful day. Roads were clear, but snow still on the ground.

DH's 1st PT session was mostly instructional on the exercises he needs to do at home for his shoulder. He'll go 3x a week for about 1 hour sessions.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and now we're back to work!

Jeanette

Good morning!

I'm finally getting into a little bit of a routine again. Eating is much cleaner, of course since I'm cooking a lot more, a lot more time consuming!

Yesterday we skiied, Sat and Sun I did TLT's BBBB, Jiggle Free Arms and Cardio Sculpt Blaster. Today should be a combination of FYC from TLT and a cardio. Looking forward to it!

Well, gotta run. Having one day off sometimes puts me more behind!

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:)

Wow! I've been having some email problems and so here I am -- it's 12:00 PM and I'm only now posting -- I've probably answered 50 - 75 emails today... Not that I'm really complaining, actually -- it's really a pleasure to hear from and write to people -- but I've had a rush of emails due to some problems and so usually don't have so many emails to answer at once.

It was great to come here and see how you both are doing. Gosh, but your weather sounds cold -- pretty, but cold. And I noticed that you both took advantage of the weather and got out in it -- snoeshoeing and also skiing. A 40 minute snowshoe walk, Jeanette! Wow!

By the way, I, too, wish we lived closer together so we could do things like run -- I'd probably take up biking, too.;-) That ride and stopping at the coffee house sounds like such a pleasure.

On another note, bet your bathroom looks good.

Your rotation looks like fun, Jeanette -- noticed you did IMAX2 and LowMax today -- two workouts I love, too.

And Rhea, I love Cardio Sculpt Blaster -- is that the one with Nancy? It's one of my favorites of the FIRMs.

Okay, so now about your weight -- it'll come off if you put attention on it -- I'm sure. It's good that you spotted the popcorn and the salt. I'm keeping on water weight right now, too, but I haven't really discovered the source. You could keep a diary, too, just to keep track of the food -- and again, water is my "solution" for so much. Upping that water seems to take the pounds off. I'm a little high right now, too, and could afford to lose a couple of pounds, but I'm not sweating it right now.

How geat that your DH has his exercises to do -- it'll be worth it getting back into shape for him, don't you think?

Well, for me today, it was Push/Pull -- I'd never done that workout before and I really liked it. It's a shorter full body workout -- 44 minutes -- and it was fun. I'm really glad I did it -- and yesterday was IMAX3 on a 4" step -- I think one reason I like IMAX2 so much more than IMAX3 is that the footwork in IMAX3 is hard -- once I get it down, maybe it will be more fun. But at any rate, it is a good anaerobics workout.

Well, I'd best cut this off now -- I'm going on and on -- and get myself to bed -- I'll answer the rest of the emails tomorrow -- they're almost all answered by now -- almost all anyway.

Have a super day, everyone and terrific workouts.:7

One more thing -- Jeanette, I noticed that you were doing 10# on kickbacks -- that's impressive -- I usually don't go over 5# on those -- and yet I need to work on those jigglly arms -- those triceps -- forgot to mention that. I, too, like the PUB up only workout -- another really good one.

Okay, have a great one everyone.:7

Good morning Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

Rhea, your workouts sound really fun. Glad you got to go skiing. I'm going next week to Mt. Rose. Haven't skiied in years! Looking forward to it.

Today was TLT's Strength In Movement. For some reason, I do click with Jen's cueing and followed along with this one pretty well. The weight work was challenging as I did the heavy weights at 8#. I really do feel worked out in my upper body and I was really sweating. There is a lot of lower body work too. The pendulum moves I could really feel in the sides of my hips (in a good way). Tonite is cycling with a couple of girlfriends.

Karen, so sorry to hear about the email problems. Hopefully, that will all be straightened out soon. Imax3 is one that I've never been tempted to purchase as I keep hearing about the high impact moves. You're fortunate that they don't bother you.

Must get going. Great workouts to you!

Jeanette

Good morning!

Hey I'm going skiing again next weekend too! Have to take advantage of our passes. I think we will be going Sunday this weekend. Gives us Saturday to save up the strength and do all those lovely chores. This weekend should be great weather wise. Spring skiing can be fun if it is not too warm. I don't do well in slushy snow.

Yesterday I managed to to Turbo Jam live (30 minutes) and then FYC from TLT. I'm surprised I'm not more sore. My legs were tired last night. I upped the weights and really concentrated on form.

Today, who knows. It is a cardio day and I'm just not sure what I want to do. Low Max is tempting me, but then I haven't done Cardio Kicks for a while or some of the other step workouts. I'm sure that something will jump out at me when I get home.

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:)

Haven't heard from Natalie for a while. Hope all is okay with you, Natalie.

Sounds like great workouts, though I'm not familiar with them -- I'm still doing the ones I brought with me -- and today it was the 37 minute pre-mix of KPC -- that's a good workout for being only 37 minutes -- muscle toning and cardio, as well.

Skiing sounds like such fun, Rhea -- I've only been skiing once -- and it was fun -- but cold -- it was in Vermont -- have been cross-country skiing several times, however. Again in Vermont.

I will probably take my day off tomorrow -- was up late last night trying to fix the email problems and so want to get to bed a little earlier to night.

Oh, one thing I've managed to do today is to drink lots of water -- I'm coming up on 11 8 oz cups today. We'll see if it makes a difference in the scale.

Have a super day tomorrow, everyone and terrific workouts!:7

Good morning Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

It was Kickmax low impact premix without the leg conditioning drills and CTX cardio kickbox for a total of about 50 minutes. Yesterday afternoon did a bike ride with a couple of friends. Nothing high intensity, but more steady state cardio. Today I hope to get my horse out of his corral and ride him if the arena's not too muddy.

Rhea, this weekend's skiing should be good, not sure what next week will hold. Karen, I used to cross country ski but the last few times I tried it, my knees didn't like it, but that was before Cathe so I really do need to try it out again as we are so close to good x-country skiing.

Karen, hope you got some needed rest.

Great workouts to all.

Jeanette
