KK's August Check In

Good evening ladies!

Jeanette, I did PLB today too. Enjoy your weight work w/ DH.

Rhea, sorry you are still feeling ill. Make sure to eat some yogurt w/ that strong antibiotic!

Karen, good job with Body Max. That workout goes at a seriously high pace!

This AM, as I mentioned before, I did PLB and then added on ME abs. This PM I took a study break (since my brain was swarming) and did HardCore Extreme #3 (but skipped the 2nd half of the kickmax blasts...6-10...and the leg drills)...that shortened it from 69 minutes to about 47. Now I don't feel like my head is going to explode.

School is pretty tough right now (and I don't see it letting up anytime soon...only building since we have to take our Boards in June). Actually, since I have been reading pretty much non-stop this past 1.5 weeks, my vision has gotten blurry. I made an appt with an optometrist and found out that I need glasses (not too bad, but for reading...which is pretty much all day). They'll come in within a week. I have never worn glasses before. It was kind of fun to pick out the frames though. I am sure I will look extra studious now.

Anyway, got to go eat dinner and then hit the books.

Oh, and Rhea, I have been sneaking in trips to Cathe's blog. I am getting really excited about these new ones too. I haven't been pre-ordered as long as you (since I just found Cathe in May/June)...so I can't imagine your anticipation!

Hope everyone has a wonderful night!

-Becky

Wow, I lost my post,

Rhea, hope you feel better soon. Sinus infections can be nasty, I've heard. Don't you hate this kind of thing right at the best time of the year?

Becky, yes, glasses are a way of life to a lot of us. I wear contacts but I'm at the age where I'm having problems and need the cheaters for reading. I'm still in denial though.

Karen, did you read the blog about the Firewalkers? Looks like Butts and Guts will be a goodie!

I did Christi Taylors Hi-Lo Heaven and Step Heaven today, not all of it, of course, but parts of it. I like her style, really fun! I'm having to rewind but I think I'll get it eventually. Nice change from Cathe. It's all good. Oh yeah, DH and I did Cathe's Pyramid Up premix (without the abs) last night. He did fine and I think he enjoyed it. He has a tendency to lift too fast and with momentum so it was good to do her speed. I need to get some 20# DB's though as the 15#ers aren't enough for him.

Have a bike ride tonite with friends, should be an easy spin.

Must run,

Jeanette

Good morning all.

I am posting this AM during a quick break between classes.

Karen and Rhea, I hope all is well with the both of you.

Jeanette, I am glad you enjoyed Christi today.

This AM I did Step Fit. I am not sure I'll do anymore cardio tonight. I won't unless I am getting really stressed, and then I'll do some work on the elliptical machines while studying.

I hope everyone has a great day!

-Becky

Good morning all!

Yep, I sure hate being sick at this time of year. Especially when it is not enough to make you go to bed, but just enough to drag you down. I can't hear this morning. If my ears would pop, then probably will be able to hear. I'm actually forced to take my allegra D which has pseudophedrine in it. I'm sensitive to psedophedrine and get the shakes from it, so I don't like taking it, but I want my head cleared and it does clear that.

Anyhoo, Becky, so much work! I remember those days of law school. I have extremely bad eyes. I HAVE to have reading glasses to see anytype of print nowadays.

Oh well, off to see what I can accomplish at work today beside whining. :7

Hi Ladies!:)

An early post for me today, as well. (Not as early as yours, though.)

Always wonderful to come here and read your posts and see how you're doing. Makes the day better somehow.

It was Supersets for me today (need I say I love the ball) and a 25 minute walk. Felt I needed the extra cardio today.

Rhea -- sure hope you get better really fast. Becky's right, you know -- you should eat yoghart with those antibiotics as the antibiotics will kill all the bateria in your tummy, the good with the bad. Or Kefir -- love kefir. Kefir has one additional bacteria, I think. My heart goes out to you.

Becky -- Love PLB and PUB -- also love ME abs. Tough. Yes, glasses are a way of life for most of us. I need them for reading and have for about the past 10-15 years. Only time I can read without glasses is if there's full sunlight or extremely good light. It is fun picking out the frames, though, isn't it.

Think you've got a good plan to work off the stress. It helps when I'm under deadline, I know.

Jeanette -- That's happened to me before, too, where I'll lose a post. Annoying, huh? Yeah, those Firewalkers look really tough -- did you notice how their bands are tied? Interesting...

Have a great ride, too. And a terrific day to everyone!:7

Good morning all!

Today's workout was some more of Christi Taylor's Step Heaven. The time flew while I was doing this. It's pretty fun and I got a little more of it this time. After that, I tacked on Ab Jam. Last night was a bike spin with a couple of friends. Tonite, DH and I will work upper body.

Becky, years ago my mom picked out new frames for glasses. When she got them we were admiring them and then asked her what was on the sides of the frames (ear pieces). She took them off and we noticed they were Playboy bunny symbols. You'd have thought someone in the optometry office would have pointed those out to her. I think she ended up covering them with tape and not wearing them much.

Hope you are feeling better, Rhea. Scarey about the fire yesterday. I'm hearing a mobile home was lost and a few outbuildings. Could have been much worse.

Karen, glad you enjoyed Supersets. I'll revisit those sometime soon when I do a full body weight rotation.

Hope everyone has great workouts and glad it's Friday. Think I go back to 4-10's next week so it will be up early each morning. Have 4 days off for the Labor Day weekend so that will be nice.

Jeanette

Good morning all!

Much better for me today. I actually feel pretty normal. I have my fingers crossed.

Well, I can't wait to get back to the workouts. I won't be starting until Monday. We'll be gone this weekend and today is a massage. So my body should be in great shape and I know I will be just itching to get back to it. I'm already there, but no time darn it.

Nasty about that fire, I had heard that a RV type vehicle caught on fire, sparked a bunch of little fires and when it pulled into the rest stop, it exploded. Of course, this was just what I heard mind you.

Well, have great workouts everyone and I'll talk to you Monday.

Hi Jeanette and Rhea and Becky and Natalie!:)

Whoa! That fire sounds nasty. Sorry to hear about it. Hope no one was injured.

Whew!

It was a Sprint 9 for me today -- total (including warm up and cool down and stretch) was about 47 or 48 minutes. A good time for me.

Jeanette -- that's funny about your mom's experience. Made me laugh. Oh, and so glad that it looks like you'll be going back to your regular schedule. Yea! Those Christie Taylor's sound like fun. By the way, have any of you ever done the Amy Benton's? They look interesting to me, as well.

Rhea -- this is great news. Am glad you're feeling better. Isn't the blog fun. Noticed there was nothing new today -- probably cause they're filming -- I can only imagine how intense that is.

Becky -- hope your studies are going great! And keeping that stress down with workouts...

And Natalie -- hope to hear from you soon.

Have a great day everyone! Isn't it great that it's Friday?:7

Good evening ladies!

Karen, good job on the sprints!

Rhea, glad you are feeling better. I hope you enjoy the massage.

Jeanette, so glad you like Christi. She is fun to workout with. Oh, and I hope I don't see any bunnies on my glasses!

This morning I did Power Max for the first time. That was a great workout. I will not be doing any PM workouts today (since I am not studying tonight...I take Friday nights off!) I am going to a fondue party tonight. 4 couples... 4 fondue pots...lots of yummies. I'll be good though! :)

Hope everyone has a great Friday night!

-Becky

Hi Jeanette & Becky & Rhea & Natalie!:)

Fondue -- hmmm... Sounds yummy. Hope your party was fun, Becky. I think you deserve that night off.

I'm not familiar with Power Max -- can you tell me a little about it?

Anyway, extremely busy weekend for me -- first time I've had to post. It was KPC premix for me on Saturday -- a day off today with a walk, and now it's time for me to post next week's rotation. I'm going to up my workouts a bit -- and watch carefully -- if I get to exhausted I might drop it back. But here goes:

Monday: IMAX 2 -- just to start the week off fun.

Tuesday: Cardio & Weights

Wednesday: cardio & stretch -- might be a run or some Cathe cardio

Thursday: ME -- full workout

Friday: IMAX 3 -- or a Sprint 8-10

Saturday: Bootcamp

Sunday: Off -- active rest day -- a walk or something

How I've uped this is adding on 3 days of weights -- 2 days of anaerobics (that's usual for me, however) -- and 5 days of some sort of cardio -- I'm two pounds over my highest comfort zone on my weight -- so I have to nip it in the bud, I'm afraid.

Have a great day, everyone and super workouts.:7

Good morning ladies!

Rhea, sounds like you're getting better. Hopefully, you can start working out today. Hope your massage was good. I have one tonite after work and believe me, I'm looking forward to it. We went woodcutting on Saturday and DH found a windfall tree but of course, it was still wet near the butt. It was a pretty good sized tree and we had to 1/8'th the pieces for me to lift them. Glad our son #1 was along to help split.

Becky, how was the fondue party? Bet it was really fun and tasty! Hope this week isn't too, too busy for you. I admire you for keeping up your workouts.

Karen, looks like a good week of workouts planned for you. Yes, looks a bit tougher but know you will be listening to your body. Could that weight be muscle growth? I know I shouldn't listen to the scale, but I do and I have for years and years. Works for me to keep an eye on any upward trends... Oh yeah, Karen, I did Supersets upper body only on Friday night as DH was cleaning his truck (he sold it that night too). The biceps work in that one with a 12#er is a tough, tough set! I definitely will have to take it down i weight to finish that one. I do like Supersets though.

A rancher that I know and his sister came to watch me ride my horse yesterday. They liked what they saw and took him home to try out for a few days. Guess that was really on my mind and I didn't sleep much, if any. You know how you just have a hard time turning it off. Anyway, there was a message on my voice mail this morning for me to call the guy. I'm thinking maybe they want to bring him back. He's a gentle horse, but the guy's sister might not want something like him as he does have some life when in new situations. I'll call him as soon as I go to work and get the scoop.

I also did a bike ride (25 miles with hills) yesterday afternoon. It was on the warmish side and I pushed pretty good so it was a good workout. I'll ride again on Tuesday, but just an easy spin. Thursday is my hellacious hill climb race of the Janesville Grade. It should be a real sufferfest! There will be 2 other ladies there besides myself so I won't be alone anyway. The rest will be die hard racer guys. I'll be trying to break my last time of 46 minutes to the top.

Due to having a massage tonite and not wanting to do an upper body weight workout tonite with DH and spoil the massage, I went ahead and did Pyramid Upper (up only premix without the abs) this morning. I then tacked on the corework only from Boot Camp. Liked this workout combo and only 45 minutes long. Just didn't feel like pikes this morning. 15# biceps were a killer on my left arm. Maybe it was still fatigued from getting wood on Saturday.

Must go now, I so love to hear from everybody on this thread.

Jeanette

Good morning ladies.

Karen, looks like a tough week for you! Oh, and Power Max is on the Classics DVD. It isn't quite an IMAX and it isn't quite steady-state step (in my opinion).

Jeanette, glad you enjoyed PUB today. I hope you enjoy that massage.

This week is absolutely crazy for me. (the fondue party was a great treat though). Next Friday (not the one this week) is my first block exam (all subjects on 1 test with questions from each subject mixed up).
The workouts are definitely a necessity for stress relief.

My planned workouts for this week are as follows: (but I may add extra cardio in PM as I study for stress relief)

Mon: Muscle Endurance plus CTX Kickbox (cardio only)...did it.
Tues: IMAX 3
Wed: CTX Step and Intervals (cardio only) plus CTX 101010 (cardio only)
Thurs: CTX upper body plus 25 minute interval run
Fri: IMAX 2
Sat:Bootcamp
Sun: 15 minutes ab hits plus rest

Hope everyone has a great day!

-Becky

Hi Ladies!:)

It was IMAX2 for me today. One of my most favorite workouts. And wow, have you checked out the blog? What a tease these things are. And how pretty Cathe and Jai look (and how fit) in the first picture of them all smiling. Love their clothing, as well...

Anyway, Becky, your workout schedule looks really challenging -- probably more so than mine, I think. Hope it helps to relieve that stress -- I know this is important for me when I'm on deadline. You'll do it, Becky, even though it sounds really tough.

Oh, also I have the Power Max -- when you said the Classics, I realized that I have it -- have never done it all the way through, though. I'll have to do that sometime.

Jeanette -- have fun at your massage. And yes, I really like Supersets -- the triceps are a challenge -- though I like the ball so much that sometimes I don't notice it as much.

I'm addicted to that scale, I'm afraid. It's a habit I picked up in the 80's and it's still with me...

Hope things work out with your horse. How traumatic it must be to be selling the horse and hoping for a good home. I really hope it works out well.

Oh, and on Thursday, whew! I remember these from your posts in the past. At least you'll have some good company, which is good. Go get 'em, Jeanette.

Rhea -- hope you are back in form and are all recovered. Thought of you when looking at the blog this morning. I know you're being teased by those new videos, as well. Love their outfits...;-)

Well, time for me to get down to work. Have a super day, everyone!:7

Good morning,
Yesterday's massage was wonderful, of course. DH picked me up after dropping off my car at the dealership and I was totally relaxed mentally and physically. Love the feeling.

Talked to the man who took my horse to try out. He wants to buy him but wanted me to know that my horse's eye was somewhat worse (seems he has a cold in it and a little more runny nose) so wanted to take him to the vet and get it checked out before plunking down the money. I don't blame him and I told him to let me know the charges. Looks like he will be sold by the end of this week though.

Today's workout was Christi Taylor's step. I finally finished learning combo 1. Nice and challenging choreo wise for me. Steady state cardio, which is fine. This was about 45 minutes. I'll ride my bike easy tonite, probably to pick up my car.

Becky, your workout looks good and challenging. Glad the fondue party was nice. I think it's important for us to treat ourselves now and then. Life's too short to be deprived all the time. Yesterday, I had a small piece of chocolate mocha cheesecake that was to die for! It was soooo smooth! I'm going to get that recipe from the maker and throw the rest of mine away, it was that good!

Karen, I love looking at the blog too! Might be my imagination but Cathe looks to me a bit thinner? Really looking forward to the new workouts. Glad you enjoyed Imax2 and I know how much you love having it in your schedule.

Must go now, have to decide if we're going camping, woodcutting or both this weekend. Great workouts to all today!

Jeanette

Good morning!

My goodness, I thought I had posted yesterday. I guess I spaced it out. Actually sometimes, while I'm reading I get interrupted and then I forget where I was.

Anyhoo, I did do a workout yesterday. I did the Turbo Jam Cardio Party #1. Added on Core Max #1. Abs are a bit sore today. Where's that tylenol? I also played nine holes of golf, well, attempted to, in the evening. I had good energy and except for being a bit tired today, still good energy.

Jeanette - hope your horse is better soon. Sounds like he will get a caring new home. I met the lady, Cindy, who owns the cutie foal and mare (along with a male buckskin that just got back home) Let's see, the foal's name is Breezy (June's Night Breeze), the mare is Junebug, the buckskin is Scotty. They are all very people friendly, so I'm going to have to stop and do some petting soon.

Karen - I'm sooooo teased by the videos. It is actually pushing me to start doing some more of Cathe's workouts because I will not be in good enough shape to tackle the new ones otherwise. I can't wait for the Butt and Guts. I cringed when I read the breakdown. Ouch.

Becky - hope your week goes smoothly. I just know you will kick rear on the test this Friday.

Well, off to the salt mines. Have a wonderful day.

Good Afternoon!:)

It was Cardio and Weights for me today -- that's a good workout that I don't often do. Just realized that my rotation this week is almost entirely the Intensity Series -- but to date, it is my favorite series.

Anyway, was up late this morning x( and so need to pour on the coals to get things done today.

Jeanette -- that massage sounds lovely. And it does appear as if your horse will be going to a good home. Always good for one's peace of mind. Sounds like your workout was challenging.

And enjoy the bike ride tonight. Your weekend sounds like fun, too, no matter what it is that your choose.

Hi Rhea! Good to hear from you. I've done that before -- have thought I posted and forgot...

Love those Turbo Jams, as well -- but don't do them as often as I might. This week, cause I'm concentrating on the challenge, all my workouts are an hour or so. Your golf actually sounds relaxing -- although I'm sure it's challenging, as well.

Becky -- hope the week is a good one for you. Know you'll do well on those tests...

Tomorrow is a cardio and stretch day for me. Am looking forward to it.

Well have a great day, everyone and super workouts.:7

Good evening ladies.

Jeanette, so glad you had a good massage. I could sure use one of those about now!

Rhea, glad you had a good workout!

Karen, Cardio and Weights is really fun. I like the cardio on it!

This AM I did IMAX 3 and then this PM I did 30 minutes on the elliptical machine while I read about heart murmurs. Tomorrow I have 2 quizzes, one in Medicine and Behavior and one in Doctoring. The doctoring one I am scared about...so much info on heart sounds, murmurs, abnormalities, etc. I have studied like mad though, so I won't have regrets.

Tomorrow morning I tackle some of the CTX series. I am excited about that. I hope everyone has a great night!

-Becky

Good morning ladies:

Rhea, I know the people that have the horses you spoke of. I used to team pen with Cindy, really nice lady and Terry is very nice too. She used to ride the buckskin Scotty. I've been looking at the colt when I ride my bike by, love to watch it run. Glad you are getting out and golfing.

Becky, good luck on the quizzes today, know you will do fine. Hey I did CTX this morning too. So versatile.

Karen, what cardio did you do this morning? Hope you got lots of work done. Yes, my massage was very nice.

Today's workout was CTX 10-10-10 with abs/planks from Power Circuit. Can't say enough about how good CTX is. I also did a 7 mile bike ride (easy spin) to pick my car up last night. Tonite will be an upper body workout, hopefully with DH. He's been cleaning up the garage lately and doesn't like to be interrupted from his organizing.

Think we are going woodcutting and camping this weekend so I need to get my mind on shopping for food for the trip and preparing the trailer. Will do some of that tonite as my bike hill climb is tomorrow night YIKES!

Must go now, have fabulous days and workouts!

Jeanette

Good morning!

Hey I did 10/10/10 yesterday! Well, I only did it through the hi/lo, just to get some cardio in. Then I did Lean Legs, ran out of time and didn't get to do the plies and the abs. Thank goodness.....LOL....I'd be hurting more than I am if I had to of finished. I even skipped using weights on 50% of the sets so I would be that sore. Pfft, didn't work, I'm still sore, but it feels great! So what if I moan when I stand. I'm not sure what I'll be putting together for today. I was thinkin just a straight aerobic of some sort. Core Max #2 is a must, just not sure what else.

Okay, got to get to work. Lots to do before that vacation next week gets here! Whoo hoo!

Okay, I just read the break down on the blogs. I'd better step it up with Leaner Legs and maybe some other lower body stuff. I was gulping as I read the break down. Tough, tough, tough. Whew. I can't wait!!!!
