I voted I exercise 5 hours per week or more and have a little weight to lose - 5 lbs. I want to see well toned abs, legs, butt, arms, etc. - I'm almost there. :)

Whether you're a "some" or a "none" is up to you, but my sense is that most people who want to lose 5 lbs. are not overweight; they just want to be leaner. Still, this is a subjective standard, not an objective one.

I agree! I guess I should have picked exercise more than 5 hours and have no weight to lose.

I voted for the 2nd option: work out 5+ hours per week and have some weight to lose.

This is not ENTIRELY accurate but the closest I could come and here's why...

My work out times vary from as little as 20 mins on some days to 90 minutes on others. There are certainly times when I don't exercise more then 5 hours per week I am sure but the other time option didn't seem like enough. The 5 hour mark is probably a good average for me.

According to everything I've ever read, I am at a very healthy weight, BMI and body fat% so technically, no, I don't have any weight to lose. I really can't complain at all. I would, however, prefer to lean out a bit more which is why I chose the option of "some weight to lose". Again, this is not a NEED by any means. It's strictly a WANT. It's my personal goal that I've set for myself. I want to be more cut and the only way to do that is to lose some more of that pesky fat!}( LOL

I had to put down my chocolate brownie to vote for "4 hours, some weight to lose."

Now I see where the problem is! :p I average 4 1/2 hours a week, I keep aiming for 6, and want to lose 10 pounds. But, the way my clothes are fitting, I may only need to lost 5 to get back into my "skinny" clothes. I'm getting smaller but the scale has barely budged.

I'm with Wendy on this one. I want to lose bodyfat, I started a diet with a good trainer and am on a mission to get to around 15% bodyfat. I started at 18-19%, so technically I am not overweight nor do I need to lose weight, it is a WANT, something I am doing to challenge myself.
And yeah, I do exercise more than 5 hours a week.

tneah,
We have similar goals re: bf. My bf is currently 18% and I'd like to see 15-16%. I noticed on another post you are doing 2 40 minute cardio sessions a day. How long have you been doing it and is it helping? I hope you don't mind me asking. Thanks

I voted 5+ hours a week with no weight to lose....but I have to add that I had a lot of weight to lose previously...and lost it by working out 5+ hours a week. I lost 35 pounds and have kept it off for over a year now. I will say that the type of exercise I do has changed...I used to do lots of cardio with little weight lifting...and now I tend to do 3 days of weights, 2 days of cardio, and a day of yoga. I am sure I could always lean out some more....but I know that the 'fat' I have left is due to my dietary choices rather than my exercising.

um, how do I unvote? I voted for the wrong category...

I exercise 5 hours a week or more, and have no weight to lose (well, just a little bit on my stomach, but probably not more than 3 lbs).

Hey guys,

Ideally, I'd like to lose 50lbs. I've already lost 86lbs, so more than half the battle is done. I do a mix of weights and cardio and walk as much as I could (as long as it's not raining in Good old London!). Like many of you, my dietary choices have been the most important thing to help me lose weight and as hard as it was, eating clean most of the time has made a world of difference!

I am in the 5 or more x/week with no weight to lose. Actually I am trying to gain some muscle. Once I do that I would like to focus on leaning out a bit. So I don't want to lose wt but change my body composition if that makes any sense. Since lifting heavier I am gaining some (hopefully muscle). My pants legs are getting tighter  It's hard not to worry about that. But I tell myself that's how ya do it :+ I just didn't want to have to buy a new wardrobe LOL!!

I voted for exercise more than 5 hrs a week with no weight to lose. I typically exercise about 6-7 hrs week unless I am on the road for buisness and than it is about 5 hours/week, not counting walks I might occassionally take. I am 5'7' and 124 lbs, am in good shape but would like to tone up the back of my butt a little more and I am hoping a 1-2 lb weight loss my show up with a little more definition back there as there is some padding sitting there.

Shirl,

I started a nutrition and diet program with a guy that trains alot of the national fitness/bodybuilder competitors, he is based out of San Diego area.

I have been on the program for 2 weeks now, lost 6 pounds so far and have noticed more definition already. Currently, its 40 minutes of cardio in the AM, and 40 in the PM keeping my heartrate 140-146. Plus 4 days of specific weight training.

Frankly, its been really tough on me mentally--the diet isn't hard, its just very controlled and clean.

I think that getting your bodyfat lower when you are already considered on the "lower end", is really about attention to diet. You have to be strict. The program is 12 weeks, I questioned last night whether I can stick to it. But taking it one day at a time. Oh, if you are interested in the program, here is the link.

I said 5 hours or more and lots to lose. I have been around the same weight for years with no health problems but could stand to lose 30-50 pounds. If eating was cleaner I'm sure the weight would come off, but that has always been the hard part for me.
