Just an idea.

I asked this on the weekend and didn't get any response, but thought I'd try once more. I feel there must be people out there that are artists or creative.

Would anyone be interested in a social group where you can show your creative artist self? Take pictures of the artwork and show it off.

There is a group called yarnfever. Obviously it's for people who create crochet, felting, knitting projects... But I've come across a person who does oil paintings and I do acrylics. We decided to put the pictures up for each one of us to share. The only thing is it's not yarn work.

We could join a social group for the artists to share our creativity and a place to show it. This would be anything you've created as far as I'm concerned. Examples; oils, watercolors, acrylics, any media paintings, ceramics, welding, yard art, crafts, macrame...imagination is what counts.

If you are interested let me know and I'll make up a social group for that. Any special name for the group?

Just an idea,

Janie

I do some tile work and fun things around the house, but not much other than that! I guess that and my yard are my forms of art :) Sounds like a fun idea to do though!

I just made a pretty boring quilt lol! It was fun though and my first one. Just the basic squares kind. I'm going to take pottery classes this fall. I'm excited about that! :) I used to draw a ton but I haven't in years. My son takes after me there though and draws constantly. so I don't have much to show.

I'm an artist with a degree in Drawing & Painting. But, since I have to make a living making a living takes up all my time now, just about. I haven't done anything new in years but I think about it all the time.

Maybe Yarn fever could be expanded to include all things creative? That might help to get a larger more active group going.

Shana, your avatar is so cute....I just posted about it in the best avatar thread. That cat's ears are so big it adds to his/her charm!

You all are inspiring me to do my acrylic paintings. See what happens when artists get together?

Also I think Cindi1's idea of Yarnfever to include other artists, is a fantastic idea. I'll get in touch with lemoncustard/Rhonda (the person that created Yarnfever) and ask what she thinks.

Any more ideas are welcome!

Lisa - thank you! That is Taz, and believe me, the name fits him perfectly! We rescued him from a rain gutter - took about 5 weeks, but we finally got him :)

I'm In :)

If you'll have me. I'm currently working my way through a drawing and painting degree. The class I'm currently in isn't my style, but I'd like to join a group of artists to look at each other's work and perhaps bounce ideas around with eachother :)

A creative group is a great idea! I'm not working on anything at the moment, but that is because I just finished 2 cross-stitched pieces for gifts. I've been contemplating drawing more as well. For Christmas last year my MIL bought me a Bob Ross DVD. I would love to find the time to try some of his oil painting techniques. He makes it look so easy.

When do you find time to work on your creative pieces? That is my main problem. Between working FT and taking care of my family and house duties, my spare time is pretty minimal.
