Jogglers October!!!

Hi ladies!

Alisha - glad you picked up your shoes - can you come pick up mine now? The shoe pile has grown to epic proportions! Yes - I knit and crochet and have a spinning wheel that is coming out this week, I swear. It's been to long-I'm going to have to re-learn.

Jane - only 9? slacker ;) I hope your mom is feeling better.

Lisa - great job getting your workout done!

Tricia - great job to you too!

Saturday I ran 4 miles (yay) and did total body weights at the gym. I broke up my run into 15 minute increments which I think helped the heel. So 15 minute run, leg weights for 15 minutes, 15 minute run, chest back for 15 minutes, run, arms/shoulders.

Yesterday I did Powerstrike 6 with Ilaria. Good workout! Running and weights today.

Its a Monday

I went for a joggle this morning. I did 3 and 5 minute intervals/hills. It was really foggy but kind of smelled swampy, which doesn't make a lot of sense, there are no real swamps nearby. I plan to spend the day on the computer editing. I also see clean dishes in my future and a pile of laundry too.:p

I will do personals later,

Have a great day everybody!

Alisha

Y'all better sit down for this one:

I. went. for. a. run.

*GASP* Shocking, right? I know.

I did CC V3 at the park. So actually it was a joggle but I did it. Ran all the intervals. And it wasn't V1 or V2.

Babysteps.

How's everyone else doing today?

Lisa

Hi Jogglers,

I took a rest day. My butt is dragging after this weekend. Hope to have more energy tomorrow.

Lisa ~ Yay!! Good job on your joggle!

Alisha ~ Hope you had a fun day. When you get done with your pile of laundry, you can start on mine.

Cindi ~ Congrats on the 4 mile run.

Hi Tricia!

Cindi - Yay! I'm glad you've found a way to get your runs done without aggravating your heel!

Alisha - Your intervals sound like they were a good worker! Woo-Hoo! The rest of your workout doesn't sound so fun! ;) I did my laundry yesterday and, of course, dishes is every day.

Lisa - In case you couldn't see it - I threw confetti for you! Yay! Was it hard? I find if I wait even one week, my stamina/endurance suffers big time!

Jane - I hope you enjoyed your rest day!

I did yoga this morning. Shiva Rea's Heart Radiance. Nice. Not much of a calorie burner, but I needed it! I had super DOMS yesterday after working out 3 days in a row. Not used to doing that anymore! Pathetic, huh? :(

Anyway, it's a run tomorrow! I don't have much time left, so I have to make the most out of it!

Have a great night!

I did upper body and abs from Supersets this morning.

Tricia - the run was okay because it was intervals. I'm sure I would have struggled with steady state. Thanks for the confetti :)

Jane - I hope you are feeling refreshed!

Hi Alisha and Cindi!
Lisa

good morning!

I am planning on some yoga mid morning and LIC this afternoon. Tomorrow will be a joggle.

Lisa- I don't have Super Sets. Is it a good one? I am glad you got that run in, I personally worry that the road won't remember me if its been too long. :p

Tricia- I love Shiva Rae!!!

Jane- Rest days are just as important as run days.

Cindi- That is so cool that you have a spinning wheel! and actually know how to use it. :D My Aunty used to have a loom that was pretty big. I have always appreciated the fiber arts.

Hi ladies! Last night was spin class with my friends and then we went to dinner and a mongolian bbq type place. I love eating there because I can pile on veggies and they can cook it with no oil or sauce so it can be super healthy. (brown rice too!).

Alisha - I forgot how much I love my spinning wheel. I also needlefelt, knit, crochet. Right now I'm working on a baby blanket for my brother's new baby, a pair of skunks (church project - Noah's Ark), and I just started a sweater for me (YAY!). On my wheel is some rather course wool but it's good to get me back into spinning. I may re-spin it to get it tighter before I ply it. Then I'm not sure what I can make with it.

Lisa - good for you to run! I think when I start increasing my running I'm going to stick with the Galloway method - those walk breaks really help.

Tricia - I was reading your blog. :) You are doing great!

Jane - hope you are feeling more energy today.

Hi ladies,
This morning I did the Timesave Premix #1 from Gym Style Legs plus the standing bandwork from BBL High and Tight.

Cindi - I love walk/run intervals. They have been far better for my speed, cardio conditioning and body composition than steady state ever was.

Alisha - Enjoy your joggle. I didn't love Supersets at first but now I do. I particularly like to use the premixes to do an upper/lower body split with it.

Hi Tricia and Jane.

Lisa

Hi Jogglers!

I didn't workout yesterday. I was starting to feel overwhelmed and stressed out. I'm feeling better after 2 days of rest.

This is the workout I'm doing tonight.

Phase I: 10 Minutes
5 Renegade Manmakers
10 Barbell Thrusters
20 Prisoner High Step ups
Phase II: 10 Minutes
10 Weight Squats
10 Kettlebell Swings
Phase III: 3 Rounds
20 Ball Slams
20 Sit ups
4 Driveway Runs

Alisha ~ Hope you had a good joggle!

Cindi ~ The mongolian bbq place so delish!! Glad you had a good workout and fun with friends.

Hi Lisa and Tricia!

Hi everyone!

Wow! I feel like I've missed a lot! I'm on the computer a lot more now, but spend a significant amount of time on Twitter chatting with bloggers trying to get ideas to improve mine and on FB. Then there's the blog . . . I'm tired! Good thing I gave up the farm!

Jane - Good that you got those rest days in to reset! That's very important! Gear down and catch your breath!

Lisa - I still haven't done the Timesavers yet! I almost did one, but deferred to something else.

Cindi - Good for you! I keep wanting to try a spin class again with a co-worker, but just keep putting it off. My first experience was horrible due to bad instructions on set up and the fact that I was grossly out of shape back then! I, too, love mongolian bbq! Don't have one up here though! :(

Thanks for reading my blog! I appreciate it and your encouragement!

Alisha - I hope you had a great joggle today!

I took a rest day today. I got 5 workout days in a row! Yippee! Tomorrow and Friday, I run. Saturday, I may be doing Jari Love's Extreme Ripped 1000 - I think that's the title. I just won that one on a blog giveaway! I love those things! I've gotten so many great little extras that way! I'm entered in one to win a year of free webhosting and my own domain name! Keep your fingers crossed that I win that one! That'd be huge!

Well, the DH should be on his way home from school and I need to wash my face and be ready for bed, especially if I'm going to make it up in the morning!

Have a terrific day tomorrow! I'll check in earlier. I had PT at 5:30 tonight, so that kind of threw me off!

Good night ladies, sleep tight!

Hi everyone! Took a rest day yesterday to take Paul and another scout shopping for their scout camping trip this weekend. Paul is the 'grubmaster' this weekend. I cringed a little at the stuff they are eating, but it's one weekend, they are camping, I can't get too hung up about the lack of vegetables.

Tonight I'm trying a tonique workout and some of kickboxing surge by Amy Bento (which I have had for a while but haven't done!).

Have a great day everyone!!!

I did enjoy yesterday's joggle. Then, having been up with my IBS I went back to bed and I forgot to wake up until noon. Today will be LIC, I might do it as produced, not the premix I normally do. I don't think I have done it that way since I first got it. I might do some yoga this morning.

I will catch the personals later,

Alisha

Hi ladies,
I did Ellen Barrett's Slim Sculpt this morning. Needing a stretchy workout. Feel good now.
Lisa

Surprise!

Home for lunch and popping in!

Cindi - Yeah, those camping meals aren't very appetizing!

Alisha - Glad you had a nice joggle! Enjoy LIC!

Lisa - Hello! You are going great!

I did not run this morning. For those of you reading the blog, you'll know why! LOL!

Question for our horticulturists here:

A friend of mine was going to grow an avocado tree from a pit out of one she bought, but was told that the avocados from that tree would be inedible. Is that true? If so, why? She lives in south Florida.

She also wants to try to grow a pineapple tree. Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks!

Gotta finish lunch and whip up my Shakeology drink for my mid-afternoon snack! I'll check back in later tonight!

Toodles!

Tricia ~ I can't help you with your plant questions.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Nice workout, Jane!

Thanks anyway for taking the time to let me know you don't know! LOL! She may have to contact a tropical fruit person down there. Don't know the technical term for that!

Talk with you all tomorrow!

Many fruit trees do not come true from seed. Apples don't and neither do avocados (generally due to high levels of heterozygosity). To propagate and maintain the desired fruit characteristics, you need to root cuttings or graft. Besides, it takes avocados about 10 years to produce fruit from seed and lets face it, most of us aren't that patient.

As for growing pineapple plants, its a rather weird process so check out the details here: http://tpss.hawaii.edu/pineapple/pinegrow.htm
