Jogglers October!!!

I decided to take a yoga day. There was a massive fire not too far from here and I don't like sucking smoke, wind ok, but smoke, nope not doing it. I may do some MMA later, I don't know, it depends on how I feel.

Alisha

Happy birthday Tricia!!!

Alisha - that sounds like a good decision.

I did a nice short (2 mile) walk last night. I'm going to walk the pups today and probably do another Ellen Barrett tonight (Pilates Sculpt is on FitTV and I haven't done that one yet) and Namaste yoga.

Hi Cindi and Jane!

Lisa

Hi Everyone!

Tricia - I hope you're having a great day!! You finally caught up to me. :D:D

Alisha - Smart choice to stay out of the smoke. Enjoy the yoga!

I'm taking my kettlebells out tonight and will do a upper body and ab workout with them. It's beautiful outside today.

Hi Lisa and Cindi!

TGIF!!!

Last night I did Yoga Today with Sarah Kline. Its raining!!! No, really! It is! So, today will be Imax 2. Fun times! I haven't done that in a long time.

Hi Jane- "I'm taking my kettlebells out" sounds like they are getting dressed up for a night on the town.

Cindi- Hi!!

Lisa- I haven't tried that pilates sculpt, was it good?

Tricia- How was your birthday?

Thanks so much for all that information Lisa! I'll pass it on to her! She's one of my FB friends who I used to work with here. Her mother and her moved to Naples, FL just recently.

Had to take care of the fruit tree issue before I could catch up!

Alisha - I agree that it was smarter not to go out in all that smoke! Enjoy IMAX2!

Lisa - How'd your walk go yesterday? Did you get that yoga or pilates in? Hope you had a great Friday!

Jane - I had a marvelous day, thanks! How was your date with your KB?

Cindi - Thinking of you! Hope your weekend is going well!

I hope I haven't missed anyone or anything! It's been a very busy couple of days!

Thanks to all of you again! I really appreciate you guys so much! :D:D:D:D:D

Here's my recap (sorry about the length)!

I cannot believe my day is already over half gone! Wow! Thanks for all the birthday wishes! It was great! My husband took me to Chez Henri in Boston for dinner, that's why he needed me to be home by 6 pm. It took over an hour to get up there because we had to go all the way around Boston to the north side and come in that way. Traffic going through Boston is insane on a good day and impossible on any weekend night! It was fabulous! The food was just amazing! I don't think I did too badly. Only had 1 drink that I forgot the name of, but it was a rum citrus thingy that was a bit spicy! We shared a basket of 3 pieces of sourdough bread (yeah, why do they bring an odd number of pieces to a table with an even number of people? That's a blog post for another day!) and shared an appetizer of ceviche with calamari, shrimp, avocado and some other stuff. I had pan-seared duck with greens and a pomegranite glaze that was very light. There was also a bed of beans and mushrooms. As I said, fabulous! We didn't have dessert there. We picked up a pint of B&J Heath Bar Crunch and brought it home to share. Tonight, I'm making spaghetti for dinner and we're having our wine and the honey is picking up cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory for my birthday dessert!

As for gifts, I received a pullup bar for the doorframe, new fuzzy slippers (yay!), fleece pair of lounging/yoga pants (oooohhh) and, last, but definitely not least, a Garmin Forerunner 405cx!!!!! Expensive, but I'm so happy! I tried it out today on my not-so-great run and it did wonderfully! I had some issues with the software downloads, but got through it finally on my own! DH is out playing golf with a friend and I still need to run to the grocery store today, but that's all I'm doing!

Tomorrow, we're going back up to Boston to spend some time at the Head of the Charles http://www.hocr.org/home/default.asp

DH has a review in the afternoon for one of his classes, so we'll go there afterwards. I'll take my running gear, just in case!

Sorry for the long post!

Hi All,

My date with Mr. Kettlebell was fabulous!! We went to a dinner and movie although Mr. Kettlebell was not much of a talker. :p:p

Yesterday I took a rest day. I went shopping all day. I got a nice pair shoes and some running pants. Yay!!

This morning sis and I ran 13 miles! YAY!! It felt great. Now I know that I am ready for the 1/2 in a couple of weeks. The weather was gorgeous...60 degrees this morning and no SPIDER WEBS!!

Tricia ~ It sounds like you had a wonderful birthday and got a nice haul. Hope you are having fun in Boston today.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Hi Jane! I hate dates that won't talk! LOL!

Glad shopping paid off! I've had shopping days (not lately, though) that were non-productive. I hate those. Go out with money and things you want only to find absolutely nothing that appeals to you!

Woo-Hoo, no spider webs! Best run ever!

We ended up not going to Boston. Well DH did because he had a review session for school, but I woke up with a screaming sore throat and thought it'd be better not to go out in the cold like that, so I stayed home and we didn't go to the Head of the Charles today.

I did, however, try out my new Jari Love DVD! I did Workout 1 of Extreme Ripped 1000. It was 30 minutes of intervals - 3 mins. high intensity cardio and one minute of compound weights. It totaled 49 minutes with warmup, cooldown and abs. She, like Cathe, gives you options on the DVD to do the workouts in 2 separate segments or together and has a cardio only option as well. I liked the music and the workout! However, the outfits were hard to get past and the women all looked like they were on steroids! LOL!

If I can make myself get up tomorrow morning, I'll go for a run. Definitely wearing my face mask which will also keep my neck warm.

Hello Lisa, Alisha and Cindi!

Hi everyone! Busy weekend as always. I didn't workout but I'm running today. I felt like I needed some extra rest days so I took them.

Friday night Paul left for his Scout trip - Turkey Run State Park in Indiana. They had a great time and the weather was beautiful!

Saturday I went to a baking class with my girlfriend. It was a lot of fun. The group made 6 different recipes but you only focus on 1 or 2 yourself. She and I made a raspberry almond cake with amaretto whipped cream. YUMMY!

When I got home, Pete left to go hang out with Paul. Then Sunday Honor had a cello recital. She did great.

Oh - and I finished my first skein of yarn on the spinning wheel this weekend, got it all plyed and washed. I'm going to make some fingerless mittens with it.

The heel stiffness has gone away completely this past week - I'm curious how the running will feel tonight and then in the morning.

Dad now has a semi-permanent feeding tube going to his stomach. Mom stayed at the hospital this weekend to learn how to feed him and they talked about whether he could come home soon. He may be home by Thanksgiving - he'll need 24 hour care but my mom thinks she can do it and my sisters are nearby and can come over and give her breaks. We'll go visit that week but Mom and I decided no Thanksgiving dinner this year - not fair to cook all that food that Dad can't eat.

Hi ladies,
I did get home Friday night and workout - I did Ellen Barrett and a little yoga. Saturday morning I did Push-Pull and then went to the Water Cress Stock Dog Trial with my mom. I came home Sunday and went to a memorial service for a friend. Mom and I are walking a lot and I'll workout tonight - maybe.

Tricia - Glad I could help. My plant nerd likes to get out and play sometimes too.

Cindi - Glad your heel is feeling better. The cooking class sounds like lots of fun.

Jane - Nothing wrong with the strong silent type :) I bet he never complains about your dinner and movie choices either. Yay on the 13 mile run!

Alisha - How was yoga?

Lisa

Evening ladies!

Cindi - I'm dying to take pastry classes at Johnson & Wales! I also want some good cooking classes! Someday. That cake sounds delectable! Always smart to listen to your body (or so I'm told!), hope your run goes well and you don't have any problems with your heel - during or after!

I'm so sorry about your father! My prayers are with you all!

Lisa - Did you post pics from the Water Cress Stock Dog Trial? I'll have to go look! Bet it was fun!

Hello Alisha and Jane!

I was still feeling pretty badly last night, so I slept in this morning. I'm feeling a bit better today. No sore throat, but I have a little bit of a dry cough, my nose is runny and I'm sneezing a bit! It it stays like this, I should be fine! Hoping to run tomorrow morning, do maybe some plyo legs on Wednesday and yoga to round it out on Thursday. Friday, we fly out!

Hi everybody! I did MMA Boxing this afternoon. Tomorrow will be a joggle. I had to take my car to get looked at today. I really hope that it can be fixed otherwise thats all she wrote. sigh. This is what I get for wishing for a new car. I had meant that I would like a new one in addition to keeping my T-bird. But, thats what they mean by be careful what you wish for, right?

I will catch the personals tomorrow,

I hope everybody had a great workout.

Tricia- I hope you feel better soon.

I am so sorry about your Dad. I sure hope that he feels better much sooner than later. <<<hugs>>>>

Btw, I always look forward to posts that involve a cooking class, spinning yarn and a cello recital.

Lisa

Yoga bit my butt. Ouchie. Really, ouchie. Thats what I get for doing yoga one night and the next day I'm doing Imax 2. I could do normal easy yoga, but then my butt wouldn't be fried for two days, and wheres the point in that?

Hi Everyone!

I missed posting yesterday.

I did a 30/30 circuit of the following for 4 rounds:
Push ups
Swings
Bicep Curls
KB squat thrust deadlifts
Push Presses
Weighted Sit ups.

It was hot yesterday and this morning it was 77 degrees. Summer has returned for a little bit.

Today we find out if mom has to go for her last chemo appointment tomorrow. She saw the doctor yesterday and he said if her blood tests come out like they have for the previous 2 times then she is done. So I'll be waiting by the phone all day. At the appointment she hugged everyone at the office because her doctor to moving to Atlanta. If she is done, then we will have to take her to an oncologist in Gainesville, FL twice a year. Keep your fingers crossed!

Tricia ~ I hope you feel better.

Cindi ~ I'm keeping your dad and family in my thoughts are prayers. I hope that he comes home soon. Please take care of your mom. Caregiving is hard work.

I'm glad your heel is feeling better! YAY!!!

Lisa - Hope you got a workout in yesterday.

Alisha - Good job on the yoga! Ouchie!!! :p

Alisha - How'd you make out with your car? I hope it was fixable!

Jane - Luck to your mom! I hope she gets great news today!

I'm actually worse today, but am going to the drugstore today, so I'm going to look for a neti pot while I'm there. Can't hurt, right?

Hi ladies,
I didn't wind up working out last night but I did get in 11,000 steps. This morning I did Bum Bum and Mom and I are going horseback riding in the mountains if it doesn't rain this afternoon.

Tricia - Hope you feel better.

Alisha - Yoga can be quite the workout.

Hi Cindi and Jane.
