Welcome to the New Year Jogglers!!!! Lets get our game faces on!

What is everybody planning for the first quarter? Training? Other stuff? Anything at all.

I'm working on losing these holiday pounds (I will weigh in on Monday, enough time for the sodium to work itself out of my system.;)) I'm upping my cardio, eating uber clean, and hitting my yoga matt 3x/week. I'm also adding violin back into my routine and finishing up the authoring on this 73 sequence project:eek:

Happy New Year!!!

Alisha

Hi Everyone,

I took a rest day today.

I'm come back tomorrow and post my first quarter plans.

Hope everyone had a great start to the new year!

Happy New Jan. 2 Year!

I did have that Kathy Smith Step workout yesterday, what a blast from the past, its on VHS. :p Today will be another Kathy Smith VHS tape, this time its Yoga Basics. I will be spending the day on the computer exporting sequences 21-30. Luckily, I have podcasts to keep me company and a kitchen that needs cleaning so in the ten minutes that it takes the computer to chug the data I can actually do something. I'm making chicken wings for lunch. I think I also have some green beans somewhere.

Hi Jane, Hi everybody!!!!!

Alisha

Happy New Year everyone! Popped in yesterday to post, but didn't want to use the December check-in page and forgot to check again later because I was puking again last night. I think I'm reacting to my Shakeology all of sudden. Don't know why. It's not bothering Stephen any. ???

Anyway, I start P90X with Cathe cardio tomorrow! Problem is I haven't even begun to fill my WM schedule! Yikes! That's my plan for tonight!

Doing well on Day 2 of my no sugar, fast food and alcohol! 28 days to go! lol

We went yesterday and jumped in the ocean with all the other crazy people! The boss donated $25 to Make a Wish Foundation for everyone who went in, so we all did it! Air temp was 50, but water temp was around 38! Brrr! It was fun, but I wouldn't do it again! LOL! Crossed off the bucket list!

Hope everyone had a great New Year's! I'll check in tomorrow and let you know what I think of P90X.

I went for a 6 mile run this afternoon. It was not the best run but I got it done! The weather was warm, damp and cloudy but the sun was shining when I got done.

For the next quarter I am concentrating on running, 1 day of weight training and the rest all circuit type workouts with kettlebells and other pieces of equipment. I think I'm going to get STS Total Body and High Reps. They will finally be paving our road so when it gets a little lighter at night, I will be incorporating lots of running with my kettlebells.

Tricia ~ I'm crossing off the polar bear swim off my bucket list as well. I don't know if I could do that. Thanks for doing it for me.

Alisha ~ Chicken wings for lunch or anytime sounds awesome!

Hi Lisa!

I hope everyone finds this thread

Tricia- I hope you are feeling better today. I would rather give the money than hop in really cold water. And my totem is the polar bear:p

Jane- That looks like a great plan.

I took yesterday as a rest day. I plan to get a joggle in this afternoon, I'm a wuss and its below 35 out there. Tomorrow will be one of the Cardio Hits.

Alisha

Happy Monday!!

I'm doing the following workout tonight:

3 Rounds
20 Push ups
20 Jump Squats
20 Ball Slams
20 Step ups
20 Swings
20 Squats

Tricia ~ Hope you're feeling better today!

Alisha ~ Enjoy your joggle! I'm a wuss too!! :p

Hi ladies!

Jane - Any run finished is a great run! I like the sound of your new plan! I'm focusing on strength right now. I've lost so much muscle mass since I did STS a year ago!

Alisha - I haven't run in quite a while. I just have not wanted to get out in the cold even in my cold weather gear! Besides, we've been sleeping in pretty late on the weekends and I don't like to get that late of a start with breakfast!

I'm not sure what's going on with the vomiting, but I haven't had an issue since Saturday. I also haven't had a shake since then, too. Getting ready to go start some chili! I've been craving it for a while, just hadn't found the right recipe, but I think I have a good one now!

I did Day 1 of P90X today. OMG! Just from pushups, pullups and a couple of sets of rows and I was toast! Then, I did Ab Ripper X!!! Wow! I really got something from this ab workout! Much more than from the Insanity abs. I was exhausted like I've never been before. Even after STS, my muscles are shaky and I'm sore, but not quite this exhausted. I wonder if it's just because I haven't worked hard at strength training in a while. Tomorrow is plyometrics. I previewed this one and it doesn't "look" as hard as Cathe's plyo, but we'll see! I'll let you know how it goes!

My attempt at no alcohol, no fast food and no sugar isn't going so great! LOL! If I can at least curb it some this month, I'll call it a success, but I'm still going to try to do better!

Hi Cindi and Lisa!

waiting waiting waiting

I'm waiting for my tv to arrive. I'm doing Buns of Steel 6 and Kathy Smith's Yoga Basics today. Its nice and sunny out there.

Tricia- I like chili!

Jane- That looks like a good workout.

Hi Cindi and Lisa!!

I am going on a 5K run this evening.

Alisha - Have great workout! I hope you get your TV soon.

Tricia - Wow...trying to give up sugar, fast food and alcohol all at once!! Why don't you do one at time? Doing all 3 has to be hard!

That P90X workout is really hard. I always do the shoulders, biceps and triceps workout. My arms were quivering after the Pyramid workout I did last week. That never happened before. I do lots of strength stuff with kettlebells but I think doing the isolated weight work really got to me. That's why I want to incorporate at least 1 day of weight work a week. My muscle is still there but I like to work them in a variety of ways.

Hi Cindi and Lisa!

Hi ladies,
I'm trying to crawl back out from underneath my rock and get back on track. I'll try to catch you up but it's all kind of a blur at this point. The internet wasn't working well in Hatteras so I only did the most limited of FB updates.

I rode every day I was in Hatteras except for Sunday including a 10 mile long horseback ride on New Year's Day. I did Ellen one day, STS Full Body (I think it was Thursday or Friday) and Gym Style Back and Bis (maybe Sunday?). I also rode on Monday and went for a beach walk.

I accepted a new job in Jacksonville, NC yesterday. It's going to be a big move and a big change. I'm going to give notice at my current job tomorrow or the next day once its official. I don't know anyone in the area and will be 4 hours from Hatteras, 6 hours from my current home. I'm supposed to start February 1.

Jane - Enjoy your run.

Alisha - Enjoy the sun for me!

Tricia - Good luck with the no alcohol, sugar, fast food goal. I have been very stressed and plowing through refined carbs like there is no tomorrow. I need to get that under control.

Cindi - Hi!

Lisa

Lisa- Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you! I hope the new job is everything you are looking for.

Hi everybody!

I might do a hike later. I kind of over did it on Monday and I only did yoga yesterday. I'm still waiting for my TV but the internet tracker thingy said it shipped, thats a good sign.

Alisha

You will do great on your new job!!

I'm doing Muscle Max tonight. It is raining today and you know what the best thing about rain is...........that I finally have a paved street so I don't have to drive in the mud!!! YAY!!! They finished it yesterday...just in time! :D:D

Alisha ~ Glad the TV is on the way.

Hi Tricia and Cindi!

Hi everyone!

I thought I was doing better at updating here! Guess not! Sorry! My life this year so far is completely discombobulated! I don't know why, nothing has really changed.

Lisa - CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm so happy for you! My friend in DC is from Jacksonville! Her family is there and she goes back to visit a couple of times a year! We would go down to see her when we were stationed in Havelock, NC. I know this is going to be a great move for you!

Jane - How wonderful! I hate dirt roads!

Alisha - Congrats on the new tv! Enjoy it once it gets to you!

Well, Day 1 of P90X left me in so much pain! All those pullups and pushups about killed me! I did the plyometrics yesterday. It was good, but nowhere near as intense as Cathe's plyo workouts or Insanity! Tonight was Shoulders and arms and Ab Ripper X. I only used 5 and 8 lb weights thinking I had lost all my strength. Boy, was I surprised! I have to increase next week. I'm sure I'll still feel it, but I was doing 16-18 reps per set and I want to lift heavier with fewer reps. Tomorrow is Yoga X 1 1/2 hours of yoga! Can't wait! I'll need it!

The no sugar, alcohol or fast food thing isn't going very well! lol I'm still trying though!

Dinner's ready so I'm going to sign off for now!

Hi Cindi!

Hannspree 19 inches

Yesterday I did a 30 min. hike, my heart was tired:confused:weird. Anyhoo. My TV arrived and I installed it, looks like it works, only thing is you have to go into the TV display to tell it what aspect ratio to use, otherwise Cathe looks funny. I even hooked up my old sound system. It does sound a little tinny, you have to go into the eq on the TV. But, hey who am I to complain, it was only 150 dollars including the CA disposal fee/taxes/shipping from Costco. I love shopping online cause I can do it in my jammies. My Dad is having a kidney stone so I have to take him to the dr for pain medicine.

Today will be my new BMII step only premix.

Jane- We love paved roads too!! The first 3 years we lived here none of the roads in our neighborhood were paved, none of the drive ways, and its very hilly/steep so during the rainy season we would have to park a mile away from the house and hike uphill with the groceries. It was terribly treacherous. Then, the week that my Mom had her hysterectomy they paved it. She was so grateful that we could drive her home on a paved road. It was a big serious thanksgiving that year even though we didn't make a turkey.

Tricia-Did you like Yoga X? I hope you feel better and the doms are abating.

Hi Alisha! I made it 2 days in a row to our check-in! Woo-hoo!

Nice hike! I hope you're doing okay! Glad your new tv came in! Play with the sound, you'll get it better! I saw BMII and though BMI??? lol Thank you, yes, the DOMS are much better today! Yoga X was very challenging, but I got through the whole thing! The only 2 things I couldn't do at all were the Crane pose and The Bridge/Wheel. Maybe with a little bit more upper body strength, I'll get the Bridge move, but I don't know if I'll ever get Crane!

I'm really enjoying P90X! Can't wait to see the final results!

Hi to rest of the gang! I'll see you all tomorrow!

Good Morning and TGIF!!

I forgot to post yesterday. I did this workout with my sister.

3 Rounds
20 Squat Thrusts - Jumping Jacks
20 Sit ups - Planks
20 Squats - Wall Sit
20 Push ups - Barbell OH Hold

One person does the first exercise, the other does the second exercise until the one person is done and then you switch.

Today is a rest day.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you're enjoying P90x. I have done parts of it but you know, I am rotation challenged so I never did all of it.

Hi to the rest of the gang. I have a busy Friday on tap.

I don't know what is happening today. If I don't have to drive to Fresno for a job I will go for a joggle later in the day. If I have to drive to Fresno I might not get time to workout at all. Its at least 2.5 hours from here and then there is the work itself. I would rather go there tomorrow but hey, we shall see.

Have a great Friday!

Alisha

I got my joggle in after all. I will probably do one of the Drill Max premixes, I don't know which one yet. For some reason I am not getting sleepy early like usual, its weird. It was really cold at 4 pm today, it was down in the 30s and foggy.

Alisha
