Jogglers Jan 2011

Hi Everyone!

I took a long 10 mile run this morning. The weather was gorgeous but my legs were a little tired from that workout yesterday. I got it done though. I am taking a week off from work for a little R&R. I managed to clean my bathroom and closet. I can now walk in my closet! YAY!! My ankle felt great!

Alisha ~ It was around 62 today but we are suppose to get strong storms tomorrow and then it will be getting cooler again.

Tricia ~ I hope it wasn't too cold last night. I remember those really icy cold mornings and having to get out there early to start the car. Hope you are enjoying your rest week. Are you doing active recovery workouts or just resting?

Hi Lisa ~ Hope the packing went well.

Hi Cindi!

Hi girls!

Alisha - How was your joggle? I'm with you! As much as I love Cathe, you still need something different in there now and again. I'm really loving P90X and I'm previewing Fire 55 EZ as I type and it looks like so much fun! Of course, her punches look a bit sloppy compared to Cathe's but Chalene is moving you around pretty fast! I think I'm going to love this series! As I do them, I'll pst my impressions and calorie burn. Her HIIT workouts range from 15 to 30 minutes. One thing I like is that each workout DVD has a "New to Class" option where she'll take you through the moves step by step so you can learn them before jumping into the workout.

Jane - I'm so glad your ankle is healed! Yippee! Sounds like you've been awfully productive! I wish I had that motivation! OMG! It got down to -4 last night! Brrr! At least it was warm in bed! LOL! We're warming up a lot tomorrow to around mid-30s, but expecting more snow tomorrow night. :(

My rest week is full of Yoga X and Core Synergistics, Kenpo X and Stretch X. Nice variety! A far cry different from Insanity where you did the same Cardio Core workout every day for 6 days during rest week. Ugh. I'm getting way more out of the Ab Ripper X workout than Insanity's core workout, but I didn't try the Insane Abs workout yet, so that might be different.

Now - if I can only get my eating under control!:mad: I don't know what's wrong with me! I know what I need to do, but I have just been a mess! Time to get serious - again!

Hi Lisa and Cindi!

I don't know what I'm going to do today. Its still nice and sunny so I hesitate to spend it indoors. Maybe I will go for a joggle this afternoon. It looks like the high will be a cool 66 degrees. :)

Tricia- I don't think I would be willing to do the same workout 6 days in a row, even if it was just core. I'm having a hard time with the eats too, I don't know what the deal is. Yesterday I baked a chocolate cake and I had a couple of bites and then last night my Dad brought home some left over pizza and I just ate a slice without even thinking about it. What gives? At least this morning I was back to being good, I started with some nut thins and a bowl of GF cereal. I'm planning some veggies, fruits and plenty of healthy oils for lunch. I'm hoping that will work.

Jane- That is awesome that your ankle is all better!!! :D

Alisha - Must be something in the air! Of course, I found it interesting that tonight I did TurboFire HIIT 15 and P90X Core Synergistics and burned 350 calories. After that, I had my dinner and decided NOT to have a glass of wine! OMG! A big revelation - If I workout hard and commit over 300 calories to a workout, I'm less likely to blow it! All I need is to make sure I do that every day and I'll be more mindful. At least, that's my theory! I also bypassed the after dinner snack that I've been having lately. Who knows. Maybe this will work and I'll get back on track with the food?

I can't wait to see 60 degrees again! Who am I kidding? I'd be happy with 40! lol We're in for another big storm tomorrow night into Thursday. Man, I'm so sick of snow. It snowed all day today, but because it warmed up to a stifling 32 degrees, it didn't accumulate too much. I'm ready to see it all melt off!

Anyway, I loved HIIT 15! The music is good and funky, the moves were very athletic and that Chalene Johnson has tons of energy! She made the workout look so easy! It was a lot of fun! Can't wait to try all the others!

Hi Jane, Lisa and Cindi!

Hi ladies,
I'll do personals later.

Yesterday I did BBL Sculpt and then packed the moving van.

The two days prior I didn't work out - just packed and moved boxes.

The weather forecast changed overnight so I need to try to get the UHaul off the mountain this morning. Good fun. And I still need to clean the house. Wish me luck.

I should be back online in a couple of days.

Lisa

Rash

I developed some sort of a weird rash yesterday and took some benadryl which knocked me out for the evening. I'm hoping that I can go for a joggle later today.

I am doing ok on the eats front. This morning I had some GF granola, a small salad from Trader Joe's and some nut thins with a few dark chocolate covered raisins. I passed the cake by, no problem;)

Alisha

Hi Jogglers,

I missed a day. I took a rest day yesterday. Today I did Total Body STS.

Tricia ~ Congrats on your revelation!!! I remember having a similar revelation about donuts when I first started working out. It IS about being mindful! I'm really big on thinking before I but something in my mouth. Before I was just shoving stuff in without thinking. Now...I think...is this really worth it? Especially if I'm working out.

I'm sorry about all the snow. Believe me, I do remember the winters in Chicago.

Alisha ~ Hope your rash is better.

Lisa ~ Hope you got the U-Haul off the mountain. We'll see you when you get back.

Hi Cindi!

Lisa - Safe moving! Thinking of you as you go back and forth! Be careful!

Alisha - That's really weird. I hope your rash clears up quickly! How many cals are you eating? That doesn't sound like nearly enough or was that just breakfast?

Jane - It really does make a difference! I guess after a year on maintenance, I just forgot! It's going well! I had one glass of wine tonight with my spaghetti and a side of sauteed asparagus! No candy or sweets of any kind! Yay, me!

I did P90X Kenpo X and Amira Bellydance 101. I love that bellydance workout! It's very basic beginners moves, which were still challenging especially since I hadn't done any bellydance in a while! I loved it! The way she teaches is great and she works you in segments from head to hips. After you practice everything, she puts it together for a short routine! I loved that she also warms you up and stretches you out. I really hope she puts out more instructional DVDs! I burned 389 calories tonight! Tomorrow is just Stretch X, so I'll either do a Cathe cardio workout of another TurboFire. I'll decide tomorrow.

I'm hoping to see the number on the scale go down by Friday, but we shall see . . .

Hi Cindi!

Evening and Happy Thursday!

We survived another snow storm, but it dumped a ton of snow on us last night! My boss had to pick me up and when I stepped off the porch, I stepped into knee deep snow in the driveway! It's unbelievable! We have no place to put any more and they say we've got another one coming around Tuesday! I really hope this misses us! I don't know what we'll do! If I remember, I'll get a picture and post it tomorrow!

I was exhausted after work today, so am taking a rest day. I was scheduled for Stretch X anyway. I know I need the stretching, but I didn't want to hurt myself being too tired and not doing the stretches right. They're pretty tough stretches!

Anyway, just wanted to pop in now while I was thinking about it!

Hope everyone has had a great day!

Friday!

I plan to go for a jog later today. I took yesterday as a rest day. Its ttotm and I take extra ones. I'm tired. I may nap a bit. Its sunny now but it was really foggy last night at Harry Potter book club. We are getting into the Unofficial Harry Potter Cook Book. Its a lot of fun because at the top of each recipe they cite the chapter and verse from whence it came.

I think I will be going to Macworld for the expo tomorrow. I may not get a workout in. I will be good with the eats though. They have decent food in the Metreon.

Alisha

Alisha - I'm so jealous! We would LOVE to get to go to Macworld! I so wish we lived out that way! I ended up taking 2 rest days back to back. I should have worked out tonight, but I just didn't. I'll be back on it tomorrow! The real work doesn't start again until Monday anyway - Phase II of P90X! Looking forward to that!

Enjoy Macworld tomorrow! I want a full report!

Hi all!

I missed a couple of days. I just wasn't feeling great....stuffy head and scratchy throat. I'm feeling better today though. I didn't workout for 2 days and ate crappy. YIKES!! This morning I did High Step Challenge so I feel back in the groove.

Tricia ~ Sorry about all that snow. We are going to be in the 70's for the next couple of days. Hope to get mom out to the lake this afternoon.

Alisha ~ Hope you had fun at Macworld!!

Hi Lisa ~ Hope the moving went well.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Hi Jane! - Sorry you were sick! I'm glad you're feeling better! Can you send some of those warm temps up here, please? They're calling for another nasty couple of days this week. Enjoy the lovely weather! I'm hoping we can get through February without any major snowfalls!

I did Low Max yesterday! I had forgotten how much I love that one! So deceptively intense without all the impact! Today, I'm going to do one of my TurboFire workouts. Haven't decided which one yet! Tomorrow, I'm back on P90X starting Phase II!

Have a great Sunday!

Its raining! The sun'll come out tomorrow!

Buckets. I'm all set up to do Step Moves. It took some doing, first there was the mess o'magazines all over the floor, then the mountain of laundry and finally tid bits of trash. It only took an hour. :D I had to eat something so I will wait a bit (I don't like to workout on a full stomach.) In the meantime, I will be sorting receipts and entering data.

Macworld was small. It was only in Moscone West, which was fine. My brother and I saw everything in under 2 hours. I think its a better show now, you see a lot more programmers and owners than booth bunnies.

I have two days of training this week. I will be taking a seminar on finance. Its all new to me. I am planning to use one of those days as a rest day and the other will be a ckt workout in the evening.

I'm feeling chubby. I need to reign in the carbs, watch my portions, up the healthy fats and cardio. The past two weeks were wacky with my hormones being all over the place. Now that is past, being focused will be a lot easier.

Tricia- I love Low Max. Its a lot of fun. I would send you some warm temps but we don't have any, its in the 40s and foggy or rainy.

Jane- I am glad you are feeling better.

Lisa- How is the moving going?

Hi ladies,
Just surfaced for an update. The Uhaul is unpacked and returned. I am surrounded by boxes but I managed to eke out enough floor space to do STS Full Body this morning. It felt good to get a workout in. I'm really noticing that certain squat/lunge combinations bother my right knee. It actually feeling pretty good since I haven't worked out in a week. I could feel it tweak a little this am - especially on the disk lunges.

It's warm here. Almost a little hot in the sun today. Beautiful. It gets very hot and humid in the summer though. I guess a couple of months of hot and humid is an improvement over frigid and icy though ;)

Hope everyone is doing well out there.

Alisha - Good luck reining things in. I have eaten very poorly for the last little bit and need to get back on track too.

Tricia - Which workout did you decide on? I don't like jumping/plyo/etc - it tends to bother my knees and make me feel "bulky" (I know, that word is very charged but that's just how it makes me feel).

Jane - Glad you are feeling better!

Hi Cindi!

Lisa

Hi Friends,

Just a quick post to let you know that I ran about 6.5 miles today. I wanted to do more but was short on time and got held up by a train!!

I'll be back tomorrow for personals.

Have a great night!

Hi Chickas,

Here was my workout for today. Nice warm day!

1 mile run
25 High Pulls
25 Swings
25 High Pulls
25 Swings
1 mile run

Alisha ~ I'm glad the sun came out!!!

Lisa ~ I'm happy you are boxed in...and the Uhaul has been returned. Hope all is well in your new place.

Tricia ~ Are you bracing for more snow? I know my relatives in Chicago are looking forward to a bunch of snow tomorrow and Wednesday. I kinda miss the blizzard thing but I know it gets old really fast.

Alisha - Glad you managed to get in a run! I miss it so much! There's just way too much snow and it's very dangerous to run on the street around here! I know you'll be able to get your eating back under control! I'm doing much better, too!

Lisa - I ended up doing Low Max! I love that one! I did TurboFire Fire 45 on Sunday and it was fabulous! I burned calories like a Cathe workout! I know you'll feel better once you're all settled in. How are the kiddos adapting to the new place?

Jane - Nice run! We had a horrible day today! Started as snow on top of all the ice from melting old snow and it was bad. I slipped in the driveway bringing the trashcan back up and fell face first. Luckily, my face didn't hit! I slid down and was covered in snow from head to toe! lol I fell in such a way that I didn't hit my knees thank goodness! I was fine! Nothing hurt but my pride! Oh, who am I kidding? It was funny! We're getting more tomorrow - ice, sleet, rain and a couple of more inches of snow. I hate this winter!

Stephen drove to Portsmouth, NH in this nastiness this morning for a job interview, then down to Boston for class. It was better than driving home, then heading to Boston. Traffic was horrendous! He texted me at 2:30 saying class was canceled and he would be heading home. He got home 5 minutes after I did - right after 5 p.m. It took him 2.5 hours for a typically 1 hour drive! Not too shabby, but still. It took him 3 hours to get to NH this morning. Basically, he spent his day on the road! He's exhausted!

Not expecting anything from this interview. Apparently, there are 2 positions open and a lot of candidates. Oh, well. It's not over yet, but we're not getting our hopes up.

Well, I made some homemade pad thai tonight. It was good, but the sauce isn't quite right. It was my first try, I'll have to keep working on it! Last night, I cooked spaghetti squash, sauteed some baby portabella mushrooms for me (Stephen hates mushrooms), and grilled some chicken. I had made some marinara sauce a couple of days ago. Fabulous! I put the mushrooms and marinara over the squash and had the grilled chicken on the side! What a great and filling meal! The nice thing was that I ate a lot and it still was under 300 calories! yay!

Okay, that's enough yakking for me tonight!

See you tomorrow!

Thinking of you still Cindi! Miss you!
