In Which A-Jock Learns To Drive

Yay A-Jock!!! I was scared to death when I learned how to drive in high school. I passed the test and got my license but didn't drive for a couple of years. I was in the city, working in Chicago and took public transportation. Then I got a new job in the suburbs and had to learn to drive. Now I drive about 65 miles a day and love it (except for the gas prices).

Enjoy your new freedom and Congratulations!!

Congratulations! I didn't start driving until I was in my mid 30's. Fortunately I got my driver's license a few years earlier in Italy, (It was a bet, I won) but after passing the test I didn't actually drive for about ten years. I say fortunately because the test there is much harder so I think I learned a lot. When I moved to AZ not driving was not an option and now after over ten years on the road I can honestly say I'm starting to get the hang of it. I still wish I could live in a walking city like NY but you gotta do what you gotta do. Having a car you like helps. I just got a Toyota Yaris and I love it. All our other cars were just ho-hum for me. The Yaris is actually fun.

A-jock-
What a newfound sense of freedom you will have! I admire your courage to get beyond your fear.

Gabrielle, I just bought a Toyota Yaris too! It's soo little after having driven an SUV for the last few years, but it's so much more fuel efficient, AND small enough for even ME to parallel park!

Annette, have fun and be careful!

Darlene:)

Oh A-jock, I'm so happy with your new venture! It will definitely be a new found freedom. I didn't get my DL till I was 22 years old...

*GO AQUAJOCK*

Good Luck and congratulations. I not so secretly hate to drive. I live in a very rural area and of course have to drive everywhere. I always said I was meant to live in the city and ride the subway or a bus. Its a good thing my husband loves to drive.

Go A-Jock, Go A-Jock! Look out world, she's gonna be driving soon!!! ;)

If you approach driving with the skill and enthusiasm you seem to use everywhere else in your life, I have no doubt you'll ace that test!

Congratulations to you Aquajock! Hooray!
If you can handle the confusing road signs and closed roads in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area you can drive anywhere in the world in my opinion. ;
Colleen;)

Thanks so much to everyone AGAIN for your warm wishes! My goal is to have my driver's license before the snows hit, which in Minnesota is usually around Labor Day. JK.

Special thanks to my fellow Minnesotans for their sympathy. Some of the roadways in the Twin Cities area really, really suck.

Latah!

I know what you mean about rude, discourteous drivers. Some are just plain MEAN. But driving is freedom and you're going to be so glad when you finally have that piece license and your wheels. Get something really fuel efficient and you'll be glad you did.

Congratulations!
