Idea for using Pyramid DVDs

I am trying to lift heavy with lower reps and I found that I really like the Pyramid DVDs if I make a couple of changes.

I follow the first three sets as demonstrated by Cathe, but for sets 4 & 5 I keep it at the heavy weight for 8 reps. Example:

Set 1: 12 reps lightest weight
Set 2: 10 reps heavier weight
Set 3: 8 reps heaviest weight
Set 4: 8 reps heaviest weight
Set 5: 8 reps heaviest weight

I am basically using sets 1 & 2 as my warm-up sets. The other change that I always have to do in all Cathe DVDs is insert more rest between sets.

Monica, that's a great idea! I 've read of people doing warm up sets on other fitness forums, but have never tried it myself. I love how versatile Cathe's workouts can be-especially with a little imagination:) Can't wait to give this one a try-after I get through with my P90X rotation.
