IBC The Silent Killer

Carole,
Wow, that was so interesting. I have never heard of IBC and I can't beleive that most of the centers had not. Thanks for the info. I think it is so important for all of us women to be aware of what to look for as far as changes in our breast. Thanks again.:)

Carole and all others. This was the type of breast cancer that my mother has six years ago. It is one of the most agressive cancers. Her's began with flaking and itching which then turned to yellow pus and an inverted nipple. She had two bouts of chemo. One before they even touched her breast, then they removed her breast. Then another bout of chemo followed by radiation. I am happy to say she is six years cancer free. One more thing she never ever found a lump. Thanks for making everyone aware.

Thanks Carole... I'm in the medical field and have never heard of this.

My mother had breast cancer at age 59 and she is still a survivor now at 71. I keep up with my breast health so this is good information.

Thank you so much -- Really, thank you.

I actually have had a couple places just recently that I thought were either mosquito bites or clogged pores. Good thing I'm going to the dermatologist tomorrow.

Thank you again.

I had this cancer along with my tumor. It was what shifted my cancer from Stage II to Stage III.

It made my breast look slightly bigger than the healthy one, speckled in the front (around the nipple) with light red dots, and warmer to the touch than the other one.

Any change in your breast *ANY CHANGE* should be reported to your doctor.

Thanks for the heads up, McKmain!

Carol,

Thanks for posting this link. I happen to know someone who died from this form of cancer a few years ago. She was about my age and it was devastating to her family and friends. She was faithful in performing montly self-exams and obtaining annual mammograms so it was shocking when she was finally diagnosed after her husband noticed dimpling of her nipple. She put up a valiant fight but finally succumbed to the cancer about 5 years after the diagnosis. It's startling how little is put forth about this killer. Thanks for educating us.

Just wanted to say thanks so much for this info, I had also never heard of this and now I can let others know as well. Great information to have, thanks again!! Sandy

Karen...I emailed you the link and hope it works now. I am just glad to get this out. I also emailed it to all the women I know...it amazes me that it is so unknown...you ladies are all very welcome for the info and thanks for posting your experiences...:)

Hi, I sent it to everyone I know. So many people have never heard to this type of cancer. These boards are very informative. Thanks again & I hope no one ever ever has to know anything more about IBC other than it exists.
