I survived Afterburn!

This is weird. For a gal who did P90X, Insanity, and Cathe in the past, you would think I wouldn't dread AB, but I did. I have been banging it out with the workouts 6 days a week, rotating LIS workouts along Cathe's higher impact videos, very similar to the December rotation, but for some reason AB scared me. I slacked off exercising for a few months and went back to commit myself to fitness starting with the LIS back in November. Well, I finally gained the courage to do AB today and I love it!!! :D I now see what so many others have posted about this being a butt kicker but the workout flows effortlessly, and before you know it, you're done. Now AB will be part of my rotation along with the other workouts. The body results I'm getting after only five weeks of exercising is impressive. ;)

As always, Cathe, you rock, and have a great New Year! The same to all you wonderful ladies!

AB is kinda intimidating, you are so right. Funny, some days I take it on with confidence and impress myself, other days I totally wuss out and can't make it through (I blame it on PMS) ;)

Cathe totally rocks. Did I mention she is related to Superman?

Congrats on your results too! I loved the Dec hi/low rotation with LIS.

Happy New Year!

Natasha

Yes, Afterburn is a tough workout!

You are right, Natasha, it's a bit of a bully, that's why it stayed on the TV shelf not being used for two months. I know there will be days when it will seem like a beast!

Oh, Michelle-the after burning has begun! ;)

Happy New Year!

-Jazine :D

Thanks for the inspiration girls! I decided to do Afterburn Bonus (74 minutes) and burned 600 calories! Let the fat-burning begin!!

I have this one on tap for tomorrow! It's funny because I actually enjoy Athletic Training more but I absolutely love the DOMS I get in my lower body with this one so I wind up doing it more often. I must be a masochist! Hee!

This workout scares me every time I do it, and I swear each time I do the workout, it seems to get tougher. The very first time I did this workout, I actually thought it was easier than Cardio Supersets and a bit on the intermediate side. Now I rank it as difficult as, say, Cardio Core Circuit. Funny how a workout can get tougher with time instead of the opposite.

Isn't that the wonder of this workout series? It seems to get harder as you progress your fitness level. Yep, Afterburn is right up there with CCC. CCC is a beast, and like Afterburn, spikes your heart rate up immediately within the very beginning of the workout and doesn't let up.

I already have Athletic Training and love it - should I get this one too?
I recently had an injury and need to stick to low impact for a bit...

AB and AT are enough different that it's worth having them both to rotate. I honestly don't know which I'd choose if I could only have one -- luckily we can have them both plus lots more! Treat yourself!

To ease into this workout and learn the drills, try the express premix with single intervals (it's 32 minutes and 10 seconds long if that makes it sound a bit less daunting). Plan on modifying some of the drills to suit your abilities and preferences. Think of the workout as the sum of many short segments. You can do it and you will feel a great sense of accomplishment when you do!

I will! Right now I'm "training" with Intensity, CCC, Anni Mairs Cardio Force, and power hour 2x a week.

We'll see how it goes!

I'll keep you posted.
