i was busy previewing legs and glutes! i couldn't believe my eyes when i saw cathe pick up a 3 lb weight! my first thought was i didn't think cathe owned a 3 lb weight!!!!! ONLY THEN did i see her use it as a foot prop for lunges. boy, was i relieved!!! i couldn't imagine CATHE ever using a 3 lb dumbell!! for a minute, i had a visual of her doing lunges with 3 lbs..imagine how silly SHE would look holding that teensy dumbell...now me using one is a whole other story!;)
 
Me too!! But, got news for ya, she actually uses the 3 pounders in Supersets (I believe that's the one). I was thinking of doing a Poll of "Do you have to purchase the 3pound dumbbells for the new BB Series?" I'm too embarrassed to buy them, so I'm going to stick with my 5's. I use a weight plate for the heel rise in L&G

I was wondering too about the 3lb dumbell! I thought, "what is she going to do with that? Sculpt the bone!" lol... aka ... Karen voight style. All her weight workouts have her using 3lbs weights or weight green balls and i think "come on Karen, you know these ain't gonna do Sweet F.A" but hey, with Cathe would know that those 40lbs squats are sure gonna do something!!!
 
I thought the same thing!! Interesting how Wayne mentioned Karen Voight. I was looking around on Collage last night (bored and couldn't sleep), and I was looking at other strength training tapes, not to buy, but just curious. I did notice most of the "big" names out there don't use nearly the kind of weight Cathe uses!! I'm SO glad I found her!!!

She sure does Grace, and I have 2lb and 3 lb weights .... so I already have them :7 ... and I wasn't embarassed about buying them :7 ..... Rhonda
 
I have three pounders AND green genie balls! LOL! And I thank God! The fact that Cathe can use a 35 pound barbell for triceps extensions has long facinated and flabberghasted me! I can get up to ten pounds with dumbbells and go heavy for the triceps press but when it comes to extensions, I have to use threes and fives or my left elbow will be permanently disabled! I can also go pretty heavy with the overhead triceps extension in PUB but for some of the work my elbow joints, can't take it! I am proud that my wieghts range from 3 to 25! (There is a 3 inch layer of dust on the twenty-five pound dumbbells! LOL!)

I thought the same thing when doing push/pull for the first time until I realized it was only used for a heel lift during lunges.

I remember doing PUB the first time when Cathe chose 3 pounds to start shoulders and I thought how light that seemed. However when I got to the bottom of that pyramid, the 3's felt like 30's;-) Eventually I worked up to 5/8/10 but it took awhile.
