How many hours of sleep do you get?

I usually go to bed anywhere from 9pm - 11pm and get up most mornings at 5:45am. So what's that? About 7 -9 hours. But I get up at least twice to go potty  and usually have a hard time falling back to sleep. My quality of sleep isn't the greatest! I go to bed looking forward to my morning cup of coffee though :D Thank God for coffee!!!

How funny you ask this Tami! I am going through a terrible bout of insomnia lately. I have tried everything to settle at night. I won't let my body get out of bed before 6 to 7 hours later but many times I'm staring at the ceiling counting the crickets chirp outside...LOL

Need my sleep

I typically sleep 7-9 hrs. per night and NEED it, or I am unable to function properly. I also use a sleep aid to help me avoid waking during the evening for those annoying middle-of-the-night potty breaks.

I usually get around 7-8 hours per night but I have a hard time staying asleep through the night unless I take a Tylenol PM or Simply Sleep:(

I get around 9 hours every night.

I've read so many studies linking lots of sleep to optimum weight maintenance and good health. I'm not sure this is so, but I'm not taking any chances!

I bed between 9-10 USUALLY and up by 6-6:30 so yeah, I like alot of sleep too. :) If I don't get ATLEAST 6 hours, I'm useless and super cranky. :(

I get around 8 hours but it's broken sleep. I wake up at least once during the night. I got into the habit letting my dogs out. I wake when I hear their ears shake. It's crazy, because they can go all night without a potty break.
I'm the same way! First it was the dog tags I heard so I made a pocket of fleece to cover them with so I wouldn't hear it. Now I hear her ears when she shakes.....I'm so glad to hear someone else wakes up from that little noise. I just end up letting her out so I don't have to listen to her, but when it's cold or snowing then I have to stay awake to let her back in. I don't think she needs out it's just a habit, of course now that she is geriatric I find "dribbles".

I have to have at least 7 hours of sleep...if I do not get that? Then a nap midday is a must, but unrealistic of course. I awake in the middle of the night all the time to "potty"..I drink a ton of water...

:(I have been dealing with severe insomnia for the past few years. Right now it's going on 3am and I got up at 2 (went to bed at 11 )
Some night's I don't sleep at all .
I guess I average 4 hours. and that is counting the night's I reach for Tylenol PM which are usually the ONLY night's I sleep 7 hours or on what I call my sleep marathon - lucky nights, maybe 8 !
I've been prescribed (and taken) Lunesta , Ambien, Roserim (?), but after taken for weeks or months got myself off of them, hoping my own sleep cycle was working again , and not wanting to be dependent on sleeping medication.
Anyway.....you long sleepers are lucky!!! I WISH !!!

Lately I've been averaging maybe 2 or 3. I'm dealing with a lot of junk in my life and it's not letting me sleep for more than 15 or 20 minutes at a stretch, then I lie there for a while. Those times I am asleep are filled with horrible, often violent, crazy dreams, so they're not really restful.

You could pack enough for a two week trip in the bags under my eyes;)

6 or 7 here. I have to be careful with too much sleep cuz I get a headach...too little and I'm dragging...but there's lots of times that it's less than 6

Hmmm..... 6-8 but need 10. Now that I'm pregnant, first trimester, I sleep whenever I can. DH is working from home and I sleep in. I am sleeping so much he came in the other day to "turn" me so I don't get decubitus ulcers. :p

Contratulations on your pregnancy Autumn. :) You need extra sleep now, so take it when you can.

Has anyone tried L-theanine for sleep ?? I've been reading about it. It's an amino acid , and comes from green tea, if I have it right and is supposed to promote calmness and is used for insomnia. That is one of the few natural remedies left I haven't tried yet and wonder if anyone can tell me their experience with it ...............

Thanks,

(Tired) Becky
