Fun thread and wonderful pictures. (I'm too computer illiterate to post pics, but someday I am determined to have a picture trail.) I've enjoyed reading everyone's romantic stories.
Yaz--your daughter is absolutely beautiful.
I met my husband in errrr.... Narcotics Anonymous. He had 3 years clean and sober and I was a "new comer". I never spoke in meetings for the first few months unless he chaired the meeting and called on me. I was so shy. I thought he was totally wierd and frankly not my type--tall, slender/muscular handsome and very nice and a christian (I was not at the time). I tended to pick scum bags who only wanted one thing. TMI?
Anyway, we started going out for coffee after this 10:00 pm meeting with a group of other recovering addicts and I gave him a ride home. We ended up talking for hours and he was so decent and nice--never tried anything. From then on, we spent almost every day together and eventually started a romantic relationship. After 3 years, I came to know Jesus and we got married and have been married now for 12 1/2 years and have 5 children (expecting the 6th).
He is my best friend and knows me better than any other person on earth. He is kind, caring, consistant, patient, wise, and a man of great integrity and he loves me despite all the baggage I carry from having an extremely abusive father. I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I could have a good husband like this. I did not even know that men like this existed.
Oh yes and we are both still clean and sober--He has almost 19 years and I have almost 16.
