We met in college through a friend at a DPMA (Data Processing Management Assoc.) meeting. I thought to myself when I met him that he was the nicest guy I'd ever met - and I still feel that way! We didn't start dating until after college because he's 4 years older than I am so he graduated and went off into the workforce. Luckily, we were both unattached when we met up again 5 years later - through the same friend again! I think she was determined for us to hookup. :)

I love this kind of stuff. Well, I met my husband in 11th grade. He sat in front of me in U.S. History. I didn't really talk to him that much. He was one of the in crowd ( parties, that sort of thing). I was really into school. Anyway we went to high school together. After graduation I never saw him again. When I truned 22 I ran into him at a soft ball game my friends boyfriend was playing at. I saw him and I swear it was love at first sight. I mean I can tell you exaxtly what he had on. My friend said " Do you remember Joe from High School? Well, he's playing on my boyfriends team." Anyway after the game we went to a bar and his brother asked me if I would like to go out with his brother sometime( Joe had to leave and go to work) Well, I said sure and about a week later we all went out and began seeing each other from that point on. I swear in my heart I knew I was going to marry him from that night I first saw him. Ten month later we were engaged. And here we are 10 years and three kids later. I just love him. The funny thing is when people see us they are like Karen and Joe from shcool who would of thought those two. Karen

I meet my DH at a summer job the summer before my senior year of high school. We dated 3 years and got married. So I have known him for 25 years.

We met in high school. He dated one of my friends and I dated one of his friends. I broke up w/my boyfriend and he broke up w/his girlfriend.

We finally starting going out the night of my high school graduation at his "ex's" graduation party. We have been together ever since - a whopping 27 years!!!

I love this thread. All of the pictures are amazingly beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

I met my DH at a training seminar when we both first started working for Cisco. He lived in California and I lived in Maryland - our first real date was London (he invited me out for the weekend). He proposed on our second date (Christmas at my house with all of our kids), and we married two years later. We just knew. It was weird.

I used to go to Marcos de Niza high school in Tempe,Az. All the "stoners" used to hang out on one side of the school we called "the curb" and smoke. Well, I was there gabbing w/ my friends and smoking and he pulls up in his 76' camaro (it was 1985 at that time) to pick a friend up and give him a ride to work. He did offer me a ride home at that time, but I told him no because I didn't know him. The girl I was gabbing w/ gave him my # later that day w/out my permission. I have been w/ him ever since.

Fun thread and wonderful pictures. (I'm too computer illiterate to post pics, but someday I am determined to have a picture trail.) I've enjoyed reading everyone's romantic stories.

Yaz--your daughter is absolutely beautiful.

I met my husband in errrr.... Narcotics Anonymous. He had 3 years clean and sober and I was a "new comer". I never spoke in meetings for the first few months unless he chaired the meeting and called on me. I was so shy. I thought he was totally wierd and frankly not my type--tall, slender/muscular handsome and very nice and a christian (I was not at the time). I tended to pick scum bags who only wanted one thing. TMI?

Anyway, we started going out for coffee after this 10:00 pm meeting with a group of other recovering addicts and I gave him a ride home. We ended up talking for hours and he was so decent and nice--never tried anything. From then on, we spent almost every day together and eventually started a romantic relationship. After 3 years, I came to know Jesus and we got married and have been married now for 12 1/2 years and have 5 children (expecting the 6th).

He is my best friend and knows me better than any other person on earth. He is kind, caring, consistant, patient, wise, and a man of great integrity and he loves me despite all the baggage I carry from having an extremely abusive father. I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I could have a good husband like this. I did not even know that men like this existed.

Oh yes and we are both still clean and sober--He has almost 19 years and I have almost 16.

Maggie...a very touching story...

I never did tell the story. So I knew DH in High School as he dated my best friend. I seemed to be their counselor when they had a tiff! I was working in a Sporting good store in college and one day I heard this familiar voice. I looked over and saw DH. He was drunk, made me laugh..:)...he asked me out that night but I had plans and said no. He was crushed but still came in the store every weekend he was home from the Navy. Finally one day my boss made a comment to DH about his coming in so much. He said Carole is free in 15 min so just take her to lunch..PLEASE! McDonalds...how romantic...:)...

Thanks for sharing everyone...:)..Carole
