Thank you ladies for the very nice compliments on DH's & my pic..:)..It is one of our favorites.

Thanks also Jes for starting this thread. I have really enjoyed reading these stories....:)

Judy...I'll try to explain how I posted the pic. I did have some trouble (the smilies are much easier!) I believe you have to have the pic on the web somewhere. I use Picture trail for my pics. I opened picture trail and brought up the pic I wanted to use, right clicked on it, clicked on Copy Image Location, then pasted it into the message. You can then use preview message to see if it shows up before you actually post the message....hope this helps...:)...Carole

Wow, these are SO fun to read! I'm a sucker for "had a bit of libation and met DH" stories...Here's why!!

I had just started hanging out with a friend from high school again back in '99, and she invited me over for a bonfire...We'd been out to dinner, the bar, but never to each others homes (at least not for YEARS)...Well, her brother-in-law lived with her and her hubby...I was sitting on the kitchen counter, slamming my first beer (we'd decided we were getting rather, well, drunk...Yes, Mommy! I spent the night!) and in walks this aubern haired MAN...WOWSERS...She interduced us and I managed a "hi"...She gave me the funniest look, I'm sure because I'm the most outspoken people she's ever met!

Well, he canceled on his date for the evening, and sat around "babysitting", at least that's what he said that night...Now he says he knew he'd marry me someday and would be wasting time with someone else that night...

I'd forgotten to bring jammies, he borrowed me a t-shirt...I got the bed spins, he sat up with me 'till 4 in the morning before going back to his own room...He even put my blazer in the dryer the next morning and brought me a protein bar (yes, he dug in my PURSE for me!!)...

Funny how things work out, my friend and DH are now divorced, and I haven't talked to her in years...BUT, I AM going to be the maid of honor in his brothers wedding to his new bride in the spring!!!

I couldn't have imagined a better man (though he makes me MAD sometimes!!) coming into my daughters and my life...Him and DD are so in love with each other! Him and I are so in love with each other...And my mother loves him...What more could I ask for??

We were both in grad school. We met through an international students' group. When we first dated, I gave our relationship 3 months. It's been almost 15 years and through deaths and misfortunes, rage and bile, resentments and power plays, we're still together. This is the only relationship I have outside my family that has held through a lot of ugliness. So maybe it was "meant to be".:p

CAROLE! What a lovely photo! You kinda look like Linda Hamilton there.:)

My story sounds like a soap opera and I have thought of writing it down. I moved to a new area and I sarted going to my new parish. He used to play guitar and sing at the chorus. That day I went with my sisters and my Mom. I was only 15 years old and DH was 21. During the mass, he didn't stop looking at me and smiling. When the mass ended my Mom talked to an old friend of hers that was there and that lady introduced us to my DH. But at some point the voices of my mother and the other ladies turned into background noise and Rafy and I kept looking at each other. I swear I felt that when I saw him, for one second I saw every single upcoming event between us. I was scared because he looked at me and smiled like a pervert. I just wanted to run! LOL I swear I felt as if someone high above was pushing us together, as if someone said: "My daughter, your hour has come." DH says that he felt the same: like a superior force was moving him toward me, the entire time we dated. I have always felt as if I was "obligated" and I always rebeled against it, but I couldn't resist and I'm glad I didn't.

There are other soap-opera like events, but then I would have to write a book...!

Emily & Carole! Great pics! I love everyone's stories! :D
Our wedding pics are in my link below. Emily I just LOVE black and white pictures. Soooooooooo pretty!

I met my DH at the play in Chicago called Tony n' Tina's Wedding. He did not have a SO at the time. He was waiting for me to come along. Awwww!

www.tonyntina.com

I went there for work! :) Actually, we went there for a work outing to celebrate a completion of a project.

Tony n' Tina's Wedding is an interactive play where the audience is actually part of the show. I was sitting in the audience and he was playing the part of the best man in the wedding. :)

He kept asking me to dance and we talked during the show. He said it was the first time he ever broke character with a member of the audience. :p

Afterwards, when I asked him for his autograph, (teehee) he asked if he should also write his phone number down. The guy playing the groom "Tony" kicked him behind the table because they're not supposed to do that. So he never wrote it down. :)

I emailed the show about a week later telling them that we all had a great time. I also told them to tell Scott that he was the most fun of all.

Someone printed out my email and gave it to him. He remembered me, because I mentioned in the email the date of the show, and he remembered my name.

He emailed me back and we wrote each other for a couple of months before he got the courage to ask me out on a date!!!

We fell inlove right away. The rest is history!

Oh, I forgot to mention that when he asked me to dance to a slow song, he picked me up and carried me through the entire song. Since he is 6'2'' and I'm only 5'1'', it was kind of awkward so he carried me. My bosses and co-workers were all giggling and cheering me on. I was SO embarrassed. :)

Here are a couple pics:

Great stories everyone!

I met my DH about 6 years ago... we were both engineering co-ops at GE Aircraft Engines in Cincinnati. I was leading a team to develop a GE Co-op website, and he was a member of my team. At first, he drove me absolutely crazy - he would email me constantly with suggestions and ideas for the website, and I kept thinking "Who's in charge here!?!" I mean, I appreciate suggestions and ideas, but he was really overdoing it! Well, we got to talking some more and somehow, I went from being annoyed by him to agreeing to go on a date with him! ;) He's very sneaky! Exactly 4 years after our first date, we were married. We'll be celebrating our 2nd anniversary in February. This is a pic of us on our wedding day:

Great stories!

Emily - I love that picture of you and Matt!

Dani - I went to Toni & Tina's wedding in 1998!

Carole - What an awesome picture of you and your dh!

Boybert - I was hoping I wouldn't be the only one to say I met my SO/BF on-line! We met through Yahoo Personals. I was seeing someone at the time so I didn't respond to his email right away. After my relationship ended, I decided to go through my emails one last time before giving up on the whole stupid dating thing and came across his email. We started talking on-line and on the phone and I could tell right away that he was different. We decided to meet at the Brat Stop in Kenosha, Wisconsin and we've been together ever since! Even though we are 75 miles apart, we have seen each other for nearly 2 years now. He's the last boyfriend I'll ever have. :)

Fun thread! And, all the pix are just beautiful! I met my DH at a dance club one nite. My twin sis had been there the week before and said, "You need to go with us next time because there are some great-looking guys!" :7 Me being shy, didn't hold out much hope! Long story short, I went the next week and my DH came up and ask me to dance. I said, "I don't dance!" Awwwk! He said, "Oh, come on." I still refused him. Later in the evening he came back and said, "Why don't you just get up & fake it?" I finally broke and said, "OKAY!" The rest is history! He is my best friend in the whole world and also the reason my quote says, If You Get The Choice To Sit It Out Or Dance...I Hope You DANCE!!! This pic is not great of me but one of my favs of him!

It was great reading these stories & viewing pics! As a professional lurker,I rarely post but I wanted to share my story. I met my DH in high school, I was 14 in the 8th grade & he was 17 in 11th grade. We were introduced by a mutual friend.

Within a couple of days he asked me "Can I talk to you?"(back then that was a code for let's go steady) My reply was "Try me!". I remember feeling kind of lightheaded when we were talking & had to sit down! We started talking on phone (I was too young to date!) & except for a few glitches we have been together for 21 years, married for 11 years! We have 2 beautiful kids, 11 & 8. He is my best friend & after all this time we still enjoy each other's company.

I even got him to start working out with me, but he refuses to do Cathe b/c he thinks its too tough! :)

I call this pic "Mini Bride & Groom". Its my daughter Ariana & her Daddy! She would be lucky to find a husband as great as her Dad!

Everyone's pictures are so beautiful!

I was at home drinking alone one night (I was in my early 20s and was depressed because of a previous "relationship" that had just ended) and my best friend called and asked if she could come over. I was about to go to bed so I hesitated. She told me she had a few friends with her and since I felt so lonely, I gave in. Dh was one of the friends. He spent the night that evening ;) and moved in a week later.

It's been nearly 11 years and we've been through a lot of rough times as well as a lot of good times but have managed to stay together through it all. :)

My hair dresser set us up. My gay hairdresser had a crush on my now DH. We met for drinks on St Patty's day & talked for 4 hours. Our first date was 2 days later (Friday) & I didn't leave his house until monday morning. He called me at work 3 hours later and asked me to move in which I did by that following friday. He proposed months later and we married within 4 months. Here we are getting ready to celebrate our 15th anniversary in December. To me he is still the hottest & most delicious man on the planet}(

I met my husband in the youth group at our church (that we still attend). We started dating when I was 15 and he was 16. Thirteen years later we have two kids and have been married for seven.

My parents have been married for 36 years, and they were high school sweethearts as well. My oldest brother married his fourth grade girlfriend!
