How cold/warm is it in your world?

Kathryn,

Where in Illinois do you live? You are describing my weather. I live in Alton, Illinois (right across the river from St Louis, MO). I hate this weather!!! I'm really not looking forward to ice and/or snow they are predicting. It seems like every weatherman says something different.

My goodness, Trish, where are you? It's 25F right now and there is little wind. It's supposed to be up in the 40's by Saturday.

Susan, where near Buffalo does your family live? I'm in Orchard Park, which is about 10 miles southwest of Buffalo.

It is about 45 degrees and raining here in Maryland. It is usually cold and snowy here in January. I feel for all of you that are in locations with temperatures below zero.

Hi,

Here in New Orleans, it is 75 degrees and mostly cloudy. But, believe it or not, we had a white Christmas!!! The first one on record in about 50 years, but a white Christmas, nonetheless.

Our weatherman keeps joking that winter is not going to make an appearance here again anytime soon!!

It's been unusually warm for this time of year here in Tidewater, VA. Yesterday, it was 74 degrees! Today's been a bit cooler, but still unseasonably warm.

It was very muggy and warm today. Our a/c has been running day and night. It's also been cloudy and raining for the last few days. (Gives me headaches...seriously.) Now it is cold outside (The "cold front" has arrived)...well, cool compared to you gals and cold for those who are native Texans. I'm from Michigan and this doesn't classify as cold.

Shirley in Texas (unfortunately)

Just reading most of these posts is making me freezes. I think I need a cup of coffee.

We are very odd weather here in NC, It has been in the 70's with lows in the 40's.

Boy, my kids are crying for some snow! Too bad!!!

I'm in Charleston. So far, we seem to have missed all the nasty weather: we only got 3 inches of snow when just a little to the south and east of us there were 8-10 inches. And we've skipped a couple of snowstorms that hit just 50 miles away.

Looks like I'm the third post from the Twin Cities in Minnesota. We must have to do Cathe a lot to stay warm. 9 F driving home, 3 below expected tonight. My DH, the amateur meteorologist informs me that 30 below is coming. UGH. My trip to FL can't come soon enough!

Right now its 34F & freezing. Yesterday, it was 70F. But this is Texas & you know what they say down here. "If you don't like the weather in Texas, just wait 5 minutes & it will change." So true.

Donna - I'm on the Canadian Prairies - we get -35C in winter and +35C in summer!
Aquajock you are so right. It may be cold but we don't have to contend with tsunamis, hurricanes or even tornados in this weather...and it really is quite beautiful - the sky is blue and the world is white. Albeit it's quite deadly to go outside. I'm glad my work place is flexible because I was able to run to the office and email my documents home so I can work from home today and tomorrow!
Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer.

Trish

Tomorrow...tomorrow...I love you tomorrow...

I woke this morning to 22F and we had a high of 37F. Sounds like winter weather has settled in most everywhere! Love my flannel sheets! :) :)

I'm on Prince Edward Island and we are freezing. It's minus 21 celcius plus whatever the windchill is. I have to coax my dogs outside to pee. I bribe them with treats. They go on the patio (!) then run back in the house. The weather has been strange, very warm one day, freezing the next. We are supposed to get rain tomorrow night!

It's currently rainy, windy and cold (supposed to be in the 30's today). Nasty weather...yuck!

In Tucson, it's about 36 right now with a wind chill of 26, brrr. We'll be hopping in and out of the high fifties, low sixties and then back to the 70's, thank goodness! It's been 18 years since I experienced a winter in Michigan and I marvel that I grew up there and can be such a weenie now. I always thought winter was beautiful to look at but driving in snow and ice is horrible and I miss it not at all. So be safe all you Snow Birds. I'm sending you Travelling Mercies.

DONNA

My parents live in Lancaster. I can not believe all the shopping centers and resturants there are. My sister and her family live in Darien Center, about 5 miles from Six Flags.

Not sure what the temp is but I am freezing, yesterday we got 8 inches of snow and now it is still drizzling light snow. glad we have to snow, but I am ready for the spring to come.

oh brrrrrrrr! y'all are making me cold just reading about your weather! (well most of you!)

I'm in North Carolina where the temps are a little higher than normal for this time of year, around 60s 70s and sunny. it's gorgeous. feels like spring. I will try to send some nice warm, dry, and sunny vibes to all you people in cold & wet places!

You sound close to me! Tahoe? It is Friday and we have started shoveling:) I love it though because I have teenage boys who do most of the work.
