Has anyone got there P90X2's yet? If, so have you viewed or done any yet?

Hi,

I just got mine today and I haven't had time to view them yet but I'm excited. I won't be able to start the P90X2 rotation until maybe January. I'd love to know your thoughts or opinions.

Thanks In Advance!

Mine is due to arrive today.
I'm already thinking about returning it. I dusted off my copy of P90X yesterday and did Chest & Back. After working out with STS for a few months, P90X was disappointing to me.:(
I also found Tony annoying, which I never have in the past.

I wish Cathe would make STS 2.

I got mine last week but haven't had a chance to preview yet. I hope to this weekend but may not start a rotation right away as a planned trip would fall right in the middle.

I was surprised to be charged tax this time as I didn't have to pay it when I got P90X original. I ordered from Mary at totalfitnessdvd and she seemed surprised that they charged tax. Must be something new.

I got mine Saturday and started a rotation Monday. Did P90X2 Core 1st.....WOW!!!! This workout is tough. Try a one 1 legged burpee holding a med ball....

Tony is the same, kinda silly but I found I missed that. I did Plyocide yesterday and loved it. For sure more intense than PlyoX. It does not repeat any exercises like the original PlyoX does. I like the way the foam roller is incorporated in the warm ups. Very good cool down in Plyocide.

Today is X2 Recovery & Mobility and I am hoping it might be easy...LOL....

I have done X2 core, Plyocide, and Total Body. I was happy with all three of them. A couple moves I am not too good at! I have the most problems with the pull up/crunch in Total Body. My power tower does not allow for that range of movement, and I am not strong enough to do it with the turbo tower. I will have to modify that one.

I am planning on doing 90 days of this program. Two rest days a week are recommended. But if I am not too tired, I am going to do at least one Cathe cardio on one of the rest days. I can't go 90 days with no Cathe! I just did 6 weeks with her new Low Impact series, and I loved it.

I've looked over the materials and starting previewing the DVDs so far, but plan to do a rotation starting in a few weeks.

IMO, this is another winner from Tony. It looks like a system that works synergistically, and has a basis in exercise science.

A nice mix of newer techniques and more familiar ones: foam rolling, functional/balance moves, different stretching techniques, PAP (post-activation potentiation : something that is described in http://www.amazon.com/Stronger-Legs...=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1323987580&sr=1-1 but not by that name, and which sounds cool, but which I'll have to wait until the third phase to get to!), some familiar moves.

It's definitely not a bunch of 'puke-in-a-bucket'' workouts that the "Extreme" talk (and annoyingly UNSKIPPABLE disclaimer at the beginning of each workout) and labels like "Plyocide" might suggest, but I'm looking for something effective and that will decrease chances of injury while being intense 'enough,' and this seems to fit the bill.

I LOVE the looks of the recovery workout. Lots of moves that I know will help with my walking training (and off-season pre-hab).

It doesn't seem (so far) as if Tony is quite as goofy as in P90X, but his humor keeps things fun. He's still very encouraging, and offers modifications without making it seem like they are 'wimping out'.

He's very flexible for a muscular guy, and I find his yoga instruction (at least what I've seen so far in the recovery workout) to be very natural and skilled. It's obvious that yoga is a part of his own workout routine.

This is the first "system" I've looked at for a while that makes me want to get up and do it. (Which is good, since I've been using racewalking and walking training as about 90% or more of my workouts for the past 9 months or so, and now that the weather is not as walkable--at least not for a wimp like me...though I did go out in 39-degree temps the other day---I need something to keep me fit in the off-season).

I reserve the right to change my mind after viewing them all (and eventually doing them), but so far (with the exception of the $!%#* unskippable disclaimer, which actually probably only runs for 30 seconds or so), me likey!

I should have known I wouldn't be able to wait until after my vacation:rolleyes: so I did the total body workout yesterday and was completely humbled by some of the moves. For example:

Push-ups into side plank with both hands on a med ball
Plyo push-ups on the stability ball
Pull-ups while holding a crunch
Kickbacks while in a plank with one arm on the stability ball
Mule kick burpees- Tony's version has serious hang time

I agree with Kathryn that although the moves are very hard, there isn't the "puke" factor I got when doing some P90X workouts (ie. chest & back).

I was disappointed that the workouts did not come with the workout sheets like the original X. I had to write everything down as I went along and that affected the workout a bit.

I agree on all counts.

Cathe, STS2 please!

Yes, yes, yes---STS2! Pretty please?! ;)

How about STS 2 along with various cardio components (HIIT, low impact, step, kickboxing, etc) along with it, all released at the same time?

I'd buy that without any hesitation!

So would I!!! That is a great idea too, having various cardio workouts in the rotation.

I posted a request under suggestions for new workouts. Lets hope so too!
