Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for May 2022!!

This morning I was achy all over so I just did CDorner latest mobility relaxing stretch and did some foam rolling while she did kind of a lengthy meditation at the end. The stretch was good though and I will use it again. The stretch is about 23 minutes. Total time is 37 minutes, 58 calories. My grandchildren will be here soon. I hope you all have a nice long weekend.

Back to report my workout: I did Cardio Core Circuit modified.

DH and I made a lot of progress in his office. I am impressed at how much he is getting rid off :)

Debbie - after you pointing out the recipes I found a lot I want to make. I like they only have a few ingredients. I need to go grocery shopping soon.

Diane - I hope the mobility stretch help your achy body. Great job!

Roxie - how are you feeing?

I will be back later.

This morning I did Penny 45 min Burn & Build. Another fave. 5 circuits 4 exercises
repeated 2x. 40/15. 2 strength exercises, a cardio, an ab exercise. This one is a sweatfest. Love it and the time flies. I realize I have missed doing Penny circuit workouts and she has some good 30 min ones that will be great for summer. I really need to redo my YT favorite folders. I think I need to arrange by instructor and time frame vs type of workout. Hmmm. I will have to figure this out. Something I should work on this weekend.

Belinda, glad you are enjoying XTrain. I only have Super Cuts & Low Impact, but I really like those. I am just relaxing this weekend, reading a book and doing some projects around my house. We had a home generator installed, but the workers are behind on projects so they were here most of the day. Hopefully they will finish next week.

Diane, hope you are feeling better today.

Roxie, good workout. I am going to take a walk with my dog too,. Its a beautiful night for a walk.

Got Cathe's Low Impact Challenge and will do that tomorrow. Looks like a brain challenge but I like that.

Time for a walk. Goodnight.

Good morning,

Early walk outside is done.

Cam - I will do the same. Just relax and sit on my deck. I hope your house project will be finish soon. XTrain and STS are my favorite Cathe series.

Roxie - glad you feeling better. Good job on your workout.

Have a great Sunday, everyone.

This morning I did Low Impact Challenge. I think this will be a great step workout. I stumbled a bit throughout but I will get it next time. I didn't find the choreography that challenging but Cathe's cueing is way too late. I was a little worried I would twist my knee. Don't need that. It was a good cardio workout though and I can't wait to do it again.

Spent the afternoon shopping with my daughters. Loved it! I also spent some time with my mom, but its just too nice of a day to be cooped up in an assisted living facility. But I bought her lunch and a milkshake, so she was happy. It's getting harder to spend time with her. There's always something wrong, but we do what we have to do.

Good morning,

Tabatacise is done.

Cam - glad you enjoyed your shopping with your daughters. How many kids do you have? I have 2. My son is 32 and my DD is 36. Sorry about your mom :( Glad you got to spent time with her. Have fun learning Low Impact Challenge. My recommendation with new step workout, do them without the step the first time. This way you don't drip over your step.

Roxie - glad you feeling much better. Glad you didn't got what was going around. Your workout sounds interesting. WTG!

Enjoy your day today.

I have not checked in for a few days so here are my workouts for the weekend and today. Happy Memorial Day my friends.

Saturday, Beach walk with my husband. 1 hour 33 minutes, 4.8 miles 744 calories.
Sunday, Beach walk again, 1 hour 22 minutes, 4.1 miles 638 calories
Monday today, TM Walk Uphill, 4 miles, 683 calories.

I chose to walk a lot because I have eaten like a piggy this weekend and wanted to burn all of the calories I could, I do not gain weight! Tomorrow I am back to lifting again!

Great workouts everyone over the holiday weekend! Enjoy your time with your family and friends.

This morning I went on a 2.5 mile walk and then did Vera LaRo 50 min. Fire Full Body HIIT w/ Dumbbells. I'm spent. It's very hot here today, though it is really windy, which helps and we haven't turned the air on. I am tired today. I haven't slept well this weekend, so I'm being a bum. I was reading and fell asleep. I really should do something productive but I have off tomorrow so I will be more ambitious tomorrow. I need to head out and enjoy the outdoors.

Belinda, I have 2 daughters, 24 & 26. Good workout today.

Jolie, good workouts!

I do not know why, or what tipped the scales, but my neck, shoulder, and back turned terribly painful starting Friday. Weird as my non surgery shoulder was really hurting and my neck was the worst on that side. I have taken days off last week, so I don't get it unless the arthritis just kicked in big time.
I couldn't find my heating pad so got one from Walmart today. Today is better and after icing, using a muscle soak, and taking Advil last night before bed I slept good. I was pretty cautious as I needed to do some PT and wanted to work lower body strength. Friday morning was just mobility and I had a nice time with Grandchildren here. Yesterday was the worst day for me.
Anyway, today's workout was CDorner 50 minutes, legs and abs workout using the fabric loop bands and dumbbells. 58 minutes, heart rate 86/114, 126 calories. I then did PT strength with the band etc., but skipped the rows, and pullover moves as my scapular area was still sore.
Total time was 85 minutes, 189 calories.

CDorner 50 minute legs and abs Chris uses 15 and 20# dbs and heavy fabric loop band

timed 1 minute 3 moves done twice
walking lunge 12# dbs (Chris uses 20's for this)
reverse lunge alternating with 3 pulses each reps 12# dbs
holding 1 db at chest side lunge all right side, then all left side 12# db
repeat

banded heal elevated squats with 10# dbs
wall sit with band calf raise/abduction
floor band and 12# db glute bridge
band only bridge
band bridge heels

abs side plank clam open(she gives option of not a plank, but on knee) repeat on left side
side plank reach overhead or option repeat on left side
on knee leg extended or option of standing oblique with 12# db repeat left side

4 moves all on one side
stationary lunge 12# dbs
deadlift leg lift balance or keep foot on the floor 12# dbs
reverse lunge/knee up/lunge/deadlift with leg lift or foot on floor 12# dbs
angled forward lunge/straighten leg 12# dbs
repeat all moves on the other side

abs skipped as it was oblique crunch reaches (irritates my neck)

stretch

Cam, I need to go shopping and look for some clothes, but I do not like shopping. Even online I don't like shopping. I used to go with my girls all of the time and now they have their own daughters to go shopping with them. I used to like it though as we would go to lunch and have a nice time and when they were teenagers sometimes I would take their friends along. I have been looking at clothes online as my wardrobe could use updating. Honestly, I cannot find much. I think I will order new jeans. I am sure that your mother enjoyed your visit. I got outside Saturday as my grandson wanted to go to the playground so we walked there. My husband keeps talking about getting a home generator.

Roxie, glad that you are feeling better. Nice workout.

Belinda, great job doing Tabatacise. It has been so long since I have done it, I cannot even remember what it is like, but I think it is not an easy workout.

Jolie, you have got in some good walks. I am sure you enjoyed being outside.

Good morning,

RWH Back & Biceps is done.

Friday I have an ENT appointment. Next week I have Pulmonology for a pulmonary function test and a CT scan to look for lower airway involvement. I need those test for Penn Uni this next month.

Debbie - I made those egg rolls yesterday. I don't have an air fryer, I should have taking them out earlier. They still good.

Diane - great job on your workout yesterday. I am sorry you are still dealing with those health issues. I hope you feel better soon. Tabatacise is very high impact, I did them on my rebounder or modified on the floor. I don't do these workouts to often.

Cam - good job yesterday. Do your kids live near you? My DD lives about an hour away from us. DS lives in TX.

Jolie - good job with your workouts. Enjoy your weight workout today.

Today I had a fantastic workout, I did Cathe Live Glassboro Roadtrip and what a great workout this was, I have not done it since last summer. The workout is lower reps and heavier weights with ABS and Core at the end. My upper body is so pumped right now, it feels amazing! Workout was 1 hour; I paused a few times to regroup, and I burned 402 calories.

What are your favorite Cathe Live workouts? I want to make sure that I am doing the good one's since there are so many to choose from.

Belinda, great job with your RWH workout today! Are you going to sign up for CL again?

Debbie, I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend with you family. I bet you are excited for your summer break.

Diane Sue, I am so sorry that your neck and upper shoulder area are hurting right now. I wonder what brings this on. Maybe less upper body workouts and more lower for the time being? I hope you slept well last night and feel better today.

Cam, great job on the Vera workout, she is a tuff instructor. I think she is very similar to Caroline Girvan right? I hope the weather cools off a little for you today. It is going to be 73 degrees here and it is finally sunny instead of foggy. Yeah!!!

I hope you all have great workouts today. Enjoy your day.

Damn, last day of May. Seems impossible. I did so much gardening work on Saturday that I could hardly move on Sunday. Yesterday wasn't much better. It worries me that my muscles take such a beating when I do certain things and then takes forever to heal. This morning I walked on my treadmill for about 35 minutes and then I did some stretches to alleviate my low back, which was hurting me the worst. I did cobra and stretches and I actually feel good now. Should have done that on Sunday I guess. I also took an Aleve. I have my last PT appointment today, my knee is still not right but I don't want to keep going. I will keep up with my PT exercises and hopefully in a couple weeks it will be ok. It is better, just not 100%.

So ever since my mom got her booster shot she has had many dizzy spells where she feels like she is going to faint and can barely stand up. She told me these started happening a few days after the booster shot. I really wish she wouldn't have gotten the Covid shots. I want to get her to the doctors so they can do some tests but she doesn't want to go. I'm afraid she might have a blood clot somewhere. She is stubborn, I am going to make an appointment and make her go.

Diane - How frustrating that must be. I thought after you had the surgery all those pains would go away. What on earth is causing you that? I'm sure you are beyond frustrated. My upper back has been good lately - knock on wood. I know almost anything can make it hurt so I don't get too excited over it. I hope you feel better, glad you got a good nights sleep at least.

Belinda - I baked the eggrolls in my oven and I like them crispy. I want to make more, they are so good! I don't own an air fryer either. Let me know if you make anything else that is good. I've made a few things from that cookbook and was not disappointed.

Jolie - Great job with that workout, that is my favorite Cathe live workout! We had a good weekend, got lots of planting done. Was more work than relaxation but it was a beautiful weekend with the weather. Now it's hot, humid and 90 degrees. Yikes!!

Roxie - Glad you only have allergy issues, that is definitely a problem right now. Wow on the 25% off, that is awesome!!!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Today I vacuumed and scrubbed floors. After the long weekend, it needed it, but it is a little humid today and I sure sweat cleaning. I was going to take a walk but thought I would just do a workout instead so I could enjoy the rest of my day. I did a fave, Heather Robertson Low Impact, No Repeat Mashup. I changed a couple moves, but overall this is a good one. I may take a walk after dinner. We were supposed to have storms today, but I think they missed us. The rest of the week is dry and low 70's. Perfect for lunchtime walks.

Diane, Good workout! The neck and shoulder pain doesn't sound good. Do you have any numbness/weakness down your arm or your hands? I would be really careful with any impact. Stay away from crunches because they are bad for your neck. I am really not impressed with the clothes selection this summer. Just not my style and alot of the materials have a lot of polyester and kinda heavy and scratchy. Who the heck wants to wear that in the summer.

Jolie, good workout with Cathe live. I think if I choose a streaming service, Cathe Live would be the one. Wish I could offer you suggestions. I can imagine it is overwhelming. I like Vera because she isn't overkill. For me, Caroline has a dread factor. Just not what I am looking for. Though, she has a new series, Fuel, that looks shorter and a little more fun.

Debbie, i am sure you hurt more, because you used different muscles gardening. Hope that knee is healing.

Belinda, one daughter is only 10 minutes away and comes at lunch to walk the dog. She loves the dog more than us. Ha! Otherwise we would probably never see her. My other daughter is temporarily home. Good workout with Cathe!

I think tomorrow will be a rest day. And a good walk.

Today I did Coffey Fit Raw High: low Cardio,47 minutes, heart rate 125/160, 230, 3,157 steps. I tried the two plank moves and got a couple of reps the first round, then tried the low plank, then just did something else. Kelly does 3 rounds of the same moves and ends with standing abs. I like the workout. I finished with CDorner Mobility with a chair intended as a warmup. She does a lying relax at the end, but she says if you are using it as a warmup then you might want to skip the relax portion. I did a short bit of the relax and quit, 30 minutes, 49 calories, 86 steps. Total time was 77 minutes, 279 calories, 2,233 steps.
I am better today, still having some pain so careful. Hopefully I can do PT exercises tomorrow.

Belinda, nice work with RWH back and biceps today. Your pulmonology appointment reminded me that I have one sometime June or July. I do not see it in my agenda book so I will have to check. I used to use my rebounder for a lot of the impact moves. My neck does not do well with a lot of jumping. I can probably do something like Suzanne Bowen's Bounce with no problem though.

Jolie, I have not done Cathe Live in so long I would have to go back and refresh my memory. I know that there are some that I returned to. An hour upper weight training session would definitely give a good pump. I think that maybe I have an arthritis flare. I have a couple of things that I am concerned with but am not ready to go to a doctor and have them wanting to do extra tests.

Debbie, I hope that you continue to improve. It takes so long to correct something that went wrong. Yard work can really take its toll on us after a long session. I agree about taking your mother to be checked out. I know you are worried, and I understand. For awhile I was feeling almost normal, and then all of this pain hit. I hate having to work around the pain as I need to keep active and the doctor wants me to do strength training for bone thinning. I love egg rolls.

Cam, I vacuumed, and steam mopped late last night. It really needed it after having grandson in and out with the dog last night. Between that and workers digging and pouring concrete behind us it was dirty.
We have storms in our forecast tonight. It seems like it will be sporadic looking at the hourly. Enough that I am on the fence as to shutting the sprinklers down.
Yes, I know that the crunches and stuff is hard on the neck. I keep doing something else when the instructors do that. No numbness in my hands and arms. It seems I have had a few times. It is mostly hurting on the non surgery side. I had a mis hap with a needle biopsy in my neck once that causes nerve pain, stinging, and sometimes a crawling feeling. Oddly when I keep up with lions mane mushroom, the stinging crawling stays away. Neck pain is lack of space in my spine, and aggravated by the traps. At least that is what it appears to be. All I get from my doctor is to change meds or get an epidural in my neck. This weekend, I was seriously considering it. It is nice that your daughter comes to walk the dog.
