Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for June 2021

Good Afternoon,

We are at the lake. We close on our house Thursday so I need to get electricity gas and water set up. Still not working out much just can’t muster up enough energy for that. I will have to start driving back and forth to work which will be 1.5 hours one way.

Debbie-that pallet isn’t new but it is pretty and I have thought about it especially when its on sale.

Jolie-you would like that workout

2 more days and I'm off for the summer! Yay!!!

This week I want to try and do one body part each day and then some cardio afterwards. I chose an old Cathe DVD set - Cross Train Xpress. Haven't done these is YEARS!! Literally. This morning I did the Biceps work and it was good. I went lighter than Cathe but not by too much. I had a 20# barbell for crazy 8's and she used 25#. I used 10's and 8's for the other dumbbell work. Then I did All Abs and had to stop by the time she got to the rope climb. You have your hands behind your head the whole time and my triceps on both arms were burning. But I did quite a bit of it and I could definitely feel it.

Burned a whole 42 calories with this, and it was 23 minutes with both bi's and abs. I want to find my old workout sheets and see how many calories I burned doing this the last time. However, I'm not sure I kept track of my calorie burn for lifting workouts back then. I will check it out later, I couldn't find the workout sheets this morning.

Then I walked on my treadmill for 21 minutes and burned 117 calories.

No time for personals, I'll try to come back later. Have a great workout everyone!!

Lindsay Bomgren is starting a new 2 week strength series on Youtube. Today was legs and back. I liked the workout but today 35 minutes felt too short. I guess better to be wanting more than wishing it was over!

I really wish I could get the summer off. But then again the office is air conditioned and my house isn't!!

No work out today. I had to get up early and go to the dentist for my routine check up etc. that I have not had for the last two years. I left an hour early to make sure I got there in time and arrived 15 minutes early. Not bad I guess. I will be doing this with appointments even further away 3 times next month. Eventually I will hopefully get through all of them. I may do CDorner's newest mobility workout today that appears to be larger movement based sometime later today.

Roxie, when we moved they said I needed to have things set up for the move on utilities at least a week in advance. I bet you are anxious to get moved.

Debbie, yeah for being off for summer. I noticed some Oklahoma City school buses driving through some neighborhoods today and wondered if some schools were extending or it was summer school or something. Crosstrain express would be a good choice for body parts. On rope climbs I have had to modify with one hand supporting my head and neck through some of it or my neck starts hurting. I hate having issues as those things were never a problem a few years ago. Sorry that it bothers your triceps with your hands behind your head so long. I love that my Garmin automatically puts my calorie burns into MFP for me as it saves a lot of time. I write the info in my yearly agenda calendar book every workout. I don't know why, but I guess I had too many workouts logged on MFP by name which I found nice for comparisons, as it stopped logging till I started deleting some of the workouts. I just gave up on that.

Belinda, nice work on SBF lower body barre today.

Doreen, I feel for you if your house is not airconditioned. It must be uncomfortable going from air conditioning to none. Some of us are spoiled. My mother always said they were used to having no air and that was why it was tolerable. I hope that you enjoy the 2 week program that you found. I guess you could add to that time, but then again the next day may show why today's seemed short.

Good Evening,

Went and watched our 8 year old play baseball and he has improved greatly in the last week.

Diane Sue-we didn’t get a weeks notice this is all happening fast and I have to carry utilities on two houses until we officially move in July. We will be doing a slow move this time.

So I was served jury duty papers yesterday. Looks like my whole damn summer is tied up calling the courts to see if I have to go in. What a crock. Makes me not want to vote anymore. Hopefully I won't have to go in but this messes up any plans of going away for vacation. We were thinking of going to Mackinac Island but doesn't look like that will happen. :( Oh well.

Wow, my biceps are sore from yesterday's workout. I forgot what this feels like!! Feels good.

Today I did the Cross Train XPress Chest workout and loved it. Wow, was that hard for me. My chest used to be my strongest body part, and I'm hoping to get it back to that - well, not lifting 100# barbells, but you know what I mean. I pray I don't injure myself again doing this.

I used a 25# barbell and 10# dumbbells. Workout was 19 minutes (with GS Chest & Tri's warmup), burned 54 calories (woot) and HR was 84/130 but every tiime I looked at it it said 69. WTF??

Then I did CDorner's Step Aerobics & Cardio Kickboxing Intervals from 10/7/20. There is no # assigned to it for some reason. It was pretty fun, short and sweet. Chris was by some beautiful inground pool and there was another lady working out with her who lead the KB part. It was fun.

Workout was 31 minutes, burned 186 calories, did 3001 steps and HR was 116/160.

Roxie - Hope your move goes well, sounds very stressful to me! I purchased that Colour Pop eye pallet, can't wait to get it.

Belinda - I'm hoping we can get to upper Michigan this summer but with being on Jury Duty, not sure about that. I'm looking forward to getting my house cleaned and the floors mopped. I really let it go when I'm working because I just don't have time for all that. It really needs it. Don't get me wrong, my house is clean and organized, but things get dusty, floors get dirty and I really need to spend time decluttering. How are you feeling? Hopefully better.

Doreen - We have air at our house. I love being home for the summer! :)

Diane - I was able to go to my dentist appointments during COVID, I think I was able to make both my 6 month checkups. Isn't it weird how all of a sudden COVID is gone? We are down to under 100 cases here in Ohio when only 48% are vaccinated. I think some questions need to be asked right about now as to what really happened. Are your grandkids out of school yet?? Hopefully now you will have your days back. Oh, and Trump is working on something big right now. I hope whatever it is, he has concrete proof. My FB automatically enters the steps I've taken into MFP and so it adjusts the calories I can eat during the day. Lately I haven't even bothered with it. I need to start keeping track again but I've been making all these different vegan meals and I just don't have time to figure out the nutritoinal values. Takes forever to do that. So I'm just eating good (most of the time) and holding my weight. It's working so far.

Roselyn - Great job with Shoulders and cardio. What workouts are you doing? Are you doing just one body part per day?

Jolie - Where you be girl? Hope you are ok. I hope your back is ok. What is gong on with your feet? I have issues too, but nothing like you have. Yikes!!!

Have great workouts everyone!!!

Hi,

I walked 2 miles outside with DH this morning. I also did CL# 240 Staled Sets UB = 44 min.

Debbie - sorry about jury duty. I hope you don't have to go. I am home and constantly have to cleaning/have to dust it never ends. Thanks for asking! I don't get it? I am on day 6 with the antibiotics, I still have lots of pressure in my sinus/head. WTH? I take so much crap I shouldn't feel a thing. I have 4 antibiotics left, I only take one a day maybe it's just taking it's time to work.

Diane - nice job yesterday.

Great job everyone. Keep up the good work. BBL

Yesterday I took a rest day because my back hurts and so does my big toe that I hurt 2 months ago. All of the walking has it hurting again, I am going to a doctor to have it looked at again even though they said it was not broken. I am taking today off and tomorrow as well just to give my body a break. I don't think I have taken a whole rest week off in over a year! Sometimes you just have to give your body a break. I am going to the Chiro tomorrow to get my back adjusted and I will have him look at the toe too. I probably wont lift this week or till the weekend and then I should be good to go!

Debbie, I am so glad your body it doing well with the lifting again! I am so happy for you being done with school. I know how to get you out of jury duty. Call the courts and tell them that you are your mothers caregiver right now because she cannot have outside help coming in to help her, she is a very concerned about Covid. They will let you put it off for a year or two due to your circumstances. I have done it numerous times, except I said I didn't have child care. Go on vacation, don't worry about it. They will work with you, there is always another person that would like to do it.

Belinda, Great walk and workout today! I hope you are feeling better.

Doreen, Is it hot in Colorado? It is supposed to be 90 degrees today here at the beach. Nice job with the workout today.

Roxie, did you do that workout yet from Beach Body?

Have a nice day. I still have to find a refrigerator, everyone I like is back ordered since they all come from China.

This morning I did CDorner Great Tunes cardio Tabata, 39 minutes, 237 calories, heart rate 147/179, 3,648 steps. I had fun with this one and only the last tabata went to the floor and she showed modifiers for every tabata, and for the floor one she showed doing a Russian twist instead of plank jack knee ins and stand. the cardio tabatas are two moves done 4 times and you move on to the next two moves and a fun variety of music. I then did her Cardio stretch and sweat mobility flexibility which was 30 minutes(it says 39 minutes but she talks first) heart rate 103/145, 94 calories, 189 steps. Total time 69 minutes, 331 calories, 3,837 steps. I used cardio for the setting when I did the mobility workout today. I never know exactly where to put the more active ones as I use yoga when she says relaxing and stretch in the description. I previewed Kelly's moves on the Ladder 2 workout when I was done and wrote the moves down. They go up the ladder and I guess back down and she says they are repeated 3 times. She has several that I have not done yet. Mostly because I am apprehensive about them. I think maybe the tubing and egg weight workout I could do, but use no egg weights or super light dumbbells. Maybe.....
I miss her workouts.

Roxie, I wish we could have moved slowly this time. We had to rush to get out and it was stressful. I still had so much stuff to go through that we had moved. At least it was a newer home so no repairs or repainting or anything like that. I got my second tub of Vital Proteins lactose free whey protein with collagen today. I love the cold brew one, but I did not realize it has 100 mg of caffeine in a serving. I kept wondering why when it in the evening before I went to bed that I was having sleep problems. Then I looked at it and saw the caffeine. It is not excessively sweet like some are.

Debbie, school is out for my grandchildren. The last month the 7 year old was in school 2 days a week. His school is an independent school district and I think the last one to decide to open back up to classrooms and that was only because they were pushed to. My granddaughter was signed up for online school for the entire second semester so she was here till school was out the end of May. I feel sorry for you with jury duty. I have done it 3 times and hated it every time and they never want to use me. Last time I sat and listened to stuff for a murder case and ate tons of sugar free cough lozenges which along with large doses of vitamin C did a job on my stomach. I did not want to cough. It was miserable. They never want to use me for a case, but that was one that I did not want to hear all of for sure.
My Fitbit did my steps too. So does the Garmin with the Fitbit. It figures calories in and calories out through the day. I have not been as good about putting my calories in every day. Particularly when we are busy or we go out to eat. Plus I have been trying to do new recipes that are from the Fix It cookbook, to help with RA and inflammation, mostly non meat recipes and if I don't have them already worked up in MFP and it is bed time I am not going to sit here and figure it out to put in the numbers. It is that or I just guess quantities of the items and put them in one by one. Anyway, I don't worry much because I mostly eat healthy and my weight needs to be up a bit. I do like seeing all of the numbers though on my Garmin Connect app and MFP.
I have done that step aerobics and kickboxing workout. I thought it was fun. I follow Trump's website. I hope something happens for the good. I think a lot of the virus stats were not accurate anyway. It was just a means to an agenda. They waited till they got what they wanted and changed their view on masks etc.. It makes me mad and having a weak leader that is afraid he will get in trouble for talking too much. I saw something on China and Chimeras and that is frightening. Not only that, but US is somewhat involved in that in providing for the studies. Crossing humans and animals is nuts. Excuse to harvest body parts. Yikes.
Oh, and Chris says she is having problems with facebook and has already paid so once that runs out she will only be using Youtube. Facebook won't let her read posts when people are following her live workouts.
We have so much dust right now. They are working to put the road between the rows of houses behind us so they can build more houses. Dust is flying everywhere and it clings to the blinds and the floors get gritty, and right now my allergies are acting up because of it.

Doreen, nice workout today with throwing in some tabatas.

Jolie, take care. I hope the toe is something the chiro can help along with the back. I will be taking several days off next week as we are going to some conferences for my husband's work that will be at a casino. August my husband took some vacation time around my birthday so I will take another break then too. I think different states have different rules on jury duty. You cannot just call in here. I remember calling before and they said I would have to come in on jury day and plead my cause or something like that. It always takes forever on day one because all of these people with excuses go stand in line to wait to plead why they cannot do it. Some take their kids. I am the old person, but you have to be 70 to not go. I think my arthritis would be miserable sitting on those wood benches most of the day.

Belinda, nice job getting in CL and a walk with your husband. I am sorry those antibiotics are still not working.

Good Evening,

Went to one of the 5 year olds T-Ball game it was so hot and there was no shade.

Debbie-let me know how you like that pallet.

Jolie-I did when it was a coach exclusive and it will really work your muscles, I haven’t done it since my foot started hurting but it’s feeling better so I might do it again.

Diane-my husband officially starts his new route so we are moving all our stuff until he starts and we rent from our daughter so we can take our time. We have to buy a washer and dryer because we got rid of ours when we moved a couple of years ago.

Today I started off with CDorner's Tabata Cardio without equipment, Fun, Treat Tunes and had a really fabulous workout. I loved this one. A bit hard on my knees but I modified when I needed to. I really got my HR up on this one. I think Diane did this one yesterday. The music was pretty good although I wish there were more 80's in it. But still, a lot of fun.

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 242 calories, did 3962 steps and HR was 117/161.

Then I did Cathe's Cross Train XPress and did the Shoulder workout. Wow, what a burner! I can't find my old workout sheets for this series which is really weird. I used 3's to 12's but 12's were a bit much. I can't believe how weak I have become. I'm hoping these shorter workouts will help me out.

I thought I might burn more calories with this since I did it AFTER my cardio, but nope, only burned 28 calories in 12 minutes. I guess that really isn't too bad. LOL!!!

I signed up for a 6 mile run/walk thing with the Domestic Violence Taskforce I'm on. I need to get it done by Saturday so tomorrow and Friday I will walk/jog 3 miles each day. I will continue with my one body part workouts next week. I think it's good to skip back and triceps anyways, but really do need to start working those muscles again. I'm scared.

Do any of you know of any other workouts that do only one body part? I thought Cathe had a few more series that did that but I can't find any. Just wondering. I can make up my own thing as well.

Doreen - That looked like a good tabata workout. I watched a bit of it. Thanks for sharing!

Belinda - Sorry to hear you still aren't much better. Unbelievable how your body pushes against any meds to help with that. Hopefully soon you will be better.

Jolie - I don't mind being on jury duty if I get called to do it, but it's just the thought that I have to put my entire summer on hold for it. Ridiculous. I probably won't get accepted to be on a jury anyways, because I read the local paper every day and would be biased as to whoever was the defendant. We'll see. Hopefully I won't have to go in. Good idea about being my mom's caretaker, though!! I'll keep that in mind. Hope your back and toe is better today, bummer that you are in pain.

Diane - Glad your grandkids are now out of school, I'm sure that is a relief for you. Yes, I heard the US was involved in creating the COVID-19 virus. In N. Carolina I believe. Not sure it's true but it wouldn't surprise me. Anything to get Trump out. Even put our own people at a death risk.

Roselyn - I'll have to check out that series, never heard of her. Great workout!!

Roxie - I will, I'm supposed to get the order tomorrow. I hope I get it today. :)

Today I did CDorner Legs and Abs Intense at Home Workout, 59 minute, 190 calories, heart rate 110/159, 1,094 steps. I used the class setting on my Garmin since I never know how her strength workouts will be. This shows calorie burn, heart rate and time while working. Different settings have different readings that you monitor sometimes. I also did her 20 minute full body stability ball workout which was mostly hamstrings and abs with some arm movement on some moves. My legs and hips are feeling this today.

Legs and Abs uses the fabric band, she suggests 30 and 35# and 8# and gliding discs. Chris uses 15's and a 20 on the bridges. I guess she has some problems with her shoulder. She mentioned this on her ball workout as well so must be something that she has been dealing with.
Moves are done 45 seconds of work
The workout starts with band work standing and some with
light weight ( I used 10#) all of the moves were done on right then she repeats on the left
Next section
squats 15# db's
abs-plank forearm squeeze and release glutes
set 2 does wider stance squat slow count of 4/4
abs seated on floor knees in and extend hands on floor behind or extended
set 3 wide stance plie squat
abs gliding discs bear out to wide legs if you cant do the planks you do another move
Repeat all the squat and ab moves
next section
bridges with 20# dumbbell in figure 4 position then center position, right then left then finish with 5# (me) held in feet kneeling leg curls
next section
to the floor or she says you can stand if you don't like doing it on the floor
leg lifts straight, hamstring curls, bent leg press(pizza press), lunge to knee up and back down tapping knee lightly on the floor slowly . All right then all left>
Next section
1 set of 20# deadlifts
Finishing set is all abs with one move using gliding disc which she does do a bridge move sliding the disc in and out

Roxie, the house we just purchased had a stainless washer and dryer set, that was pretty new as the other owners only lived here about a year. We had bought a new washer during the covid virus so it was new and our other dryer was fairly new. We gave the washer to my daughter who was going to have to replace theirs and the dryer we left for the people that purchased our house. That is nice you are able to rent your daughter's house. Makes things less complicated. I think it is really hot in a lot of areas. We are having a heat alert. Funny it was cool and raining a couple of weeks ago.

Roselyn, nice work on getting to week 5 on your rotation.

Doreen, that looks like a good workout. Thinking of heat, it has gotten up in the 90s here and no stores seem to have gatorade or powerade in the stores. I talked to the lady in Dollar General and she said they just got a message from the company that there is a shortage on Gatorade. Sugar free was gone longer than the other. I buy it for my husband.

Debbie, I had fun with that cardio tabata workout. I kind of thought if I had the rebounder out that it would work for a lot of the jacks and stuff that she did. She does show modification moves, but I usually try to do what she does unless it affects my neck and shoulders. I totally understand being apprehensive about starting back to working out those areas that are prone to pain. I am always worried I will set it off all over again, but I know we need to keep the strength in those areas to protect joints.
Yes, from my understanding all of the truth is coming out and our country helped fund those studies for covid so it is not wonder they tried so hard to keep it hid while our country suffered the consequences.
Have fun doing your 6 miles for a great cause.

Hi everyone,

Today I did SBF upper glutes plus low impact hiit.

Debbie - thank you! I don't get it either. The antibiotics is ripping up my stomach. I will call the ENT tomorrow. I saw today that Dr. McDougell The starch solution is only $1.99 on Kindle on Amazon today. I bought it. Very good read. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007PF7MGS/ref=pe_385040_118058080_TE_M1DP

Diane - aww...I was looking for a good lower body workout on YT I must have missed the one you did today. I will check it out.
