Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for June 2021

I'm trying to get rid of three pieces of my workout equipment: my leg press station, my large bench press set and a hanging punching bag that I've had for years and never used. I called the Boys and Girls club but the director said they have all they need. Bummer. He recommended giving it all to one of our schools but most of our schools are equipped with excellent workout stuff. Not sure what to do now? I really want to get rid of this stuff, it's in my way and I'm trying to get rid of stuff I don't use anymore. Anyways, I'll contact a couple of our low income schools and see if they might need it.

Today I did RAW Box & Pump 4. Love this one and I love the workouts with Jane in them. She is so energetic and fun. The ones with Sammie tend to bring me down a bit because she's so negative about everything Kelly wants her to do. Why does she even film with her? LOL!! Anyways, used 12's, 10's, 8's and 3's for this workout. Had fun, it is a blast.

Workout was 50 minutes, burned 283 calories, did 3881 steps and HR was 111/155.

Diane - Nice workouts! I hope you had a good celebration yesterday! I agree, we need to vote out these people in congress/house. Why do we keep the same people in there year after year? I'm hoping 2022 will be different. Something needs to change. Have a great week, I'll miss you posts! My dh and I are trying to figure out when we can go away for a few days. Hopefully it won't be too expensive.

Belinda - I'm sorry to hear you couldn't go to your appointment, I hope you are feeling a bit better. I know, isn't that cheese sauce the bomb? OMG, I love it. I've made several different versions and that one is by far the best. You can add smoked paprika and some cayenne pepper and that makes it a spicy taco sauce. Glad you like it! It's easy to make once you do it a couple times.

Jolie - Hope your low back is feeling better. I've been feeling pretty good lately and I hope it stays that way!! Take care, hope you check in today to let us know how you are doing.

Roxie - So excited for you about you moving into your new house! That is awesome!! I received my Ulta order and the Colour Pop eyeshadow was missing. :( They are shipping me one, hopefully I'll get it today.

Doreen - LOL on your puppy! Poor guy! Glad you all had fun!

Roselyn - Great job with your workout!!

Have a great day everyone!

Sorry I was MIA all weekend but I did get in a lot of walking and it felt great. Saturday I did a 3 mile walk and Sunday I did a 4 mile walk. Believe it or not, the walking really helped with the spasm, it gets the blood pumping and loosens everything up. Today I am feeling good, but it still hurts to get up after sitting down. I also did some stretching and that helped as well. Today I went for a 4.1 mile walk and did some hills and I burned 647 calories. I am not sure when I will start doing anything other than walking, I will be listening to my body and going from there. I just took a bunch of Magnesium and hopefully that will help too. I am just really happy that I can walk, talking 4 days off last week was the pits. I have to do some sort of physical activity every darn day or I feel sort of depressed. Isn't it amazing how good you feel from working out? How in the world do people not workout?!

Debbie, I sold a lot of my gym equipment that we were not using anymore on Facebook Market place. You can get good money for it right now since a lot of people do not want to go to the gym during Covid. More and more people are working out at home because of all of the On Demand workouts available. Nice job on the workout today, sounds fun.

Doreen, get your dog a life vest. I am glad you had a great day yesterday.

Roxie, I am so happy for you that you like your new house!

Belinda, nice job getting the walk done today. I hope you are feeling better, it seems that you and I are a real mess right now :(

Diane Sue, I hope you had a great day yesterday with all of the celebrations going on in your family. I will check back in to see what you did for your workout today.

Have a great Monday my friends.

Debbie - wow, I are sure you will not regret it later on? I haven't used my Fit Tower in years, now I am using it. Go figure. I also would recommend Facebook Market place, or your local papers. The only thing I would like to get rid off is the Bowfex. That thing takes up a lot of space. I hardly use it. Once I stopped taking the steroids rinse/sinus medication I started feeling better. I am not 100% but I do feel better. I will go tomorrow in the morning. I agree the cheese sauce the bomb. I could eat it by the spoon. Luckily, it's all healthy. Yum!

Roselyn - so sorry about your husbands uncle and dad (((HUGS))

Jolie - you got that right, lol. We are a mess right now. We need a break. I am sick of this. Great job on that walking this weekend.

Today I did CDorner Best Dance Routines "Runaway Baby Bruno Mars" 50 minutes and had a fun work out. Heart rate was 140/171, 279 calories, 6,033 steps. I finished off with Coffey Fit Raw glute finisher(medium fabric band) 23 minutes, 80 calories, heart rate 110/159, 774 steps. Total time was 73 minutes, calories 359. I really wanted to do a good stretch. Maybe I can do one at the hotel. I am laying off my shoulders for a bit. I have been coughing like crazy and my neck and upper back hurt from all of it. I hate allergies! My husband changed our reservations so we are leaving earlier than originally planned so we do not have to get up when it is still dark to arrive in time for his first meeting with the conferences. So, today I am getting things ready. Bathed my dog Gertie(which is getting easier with the new shower) And will gather her things for my grandson to pickup when he gets her.

Debbie, I am not sure if I have done that workout. If I did I probably have printed it out. I will have to look. I was lucky as I offered up my heavy bag and stand and the weight bench along with a barbell(not all of my plates though just the 25's and a pair of 10's) and my son in law took them. They have set up one of their bedrooms as a gym since their daughter got married. Plus he has a detached garage and pool building, so places to use it. I would not have minded so much keeping the weight bench, but just not enough room and we really did not want to put fitness equipment in our bedroom like before. Just too crowded for things that are not used often and I am fine with the Fit tower and step bench.
In the past when I got rid of the Bowflex and my dip station my daughter advertised on a facebook store and they sold that way. I let them use the funds for a well project they were doing for a mission trip they took to Haiti. Otherwise things like that go on the curb for big trash day and they are generally gone before the trash trucks come. I kind of hate doing that for some things. I suppose we could have set equipment out on our patio area that is covered and has a fireplace, but I doubt we would use it out there.
It is a shame the schools can't use it. I gave multiple stability balls to my daughter's school and they used them for some of the children. I will probably still check in and see what everyone is doing this week. I am taking my laptop and tablet with me. I don't know yet what we will do for our August vacation yet. My husband mentioned Florida and visiting my brother, but that is so far and seriously, I don't know how my neck and issues are going to survive hours of riding. We will see. I wish my younger brother was still in Nebraska with my other brother so I could go see them both.

Belinda, I have worked out in the hotel rooms before and may do it, but I always worry about the cleanliness of the carpets and stuff if I get down on the floor. I have laid out bath towels to work on LOL. Kelly has a band workout that would probably work. When I took double of what I am taking of my medicine I was just wiped out and felt awful all day. I took it down to once a day and told my doctor and he said it was okay. That being said, you cannot just make that decision at this point without discussing it prior with your doctor with all of the other stuff going on. Do you think some of it is the combo of different meds you have been taking along with the sinus problems?

Doreen, funny that your puppy jumped out into the water. I don't think my dog would do that, even though she is a lab. It takes coaxing to have her get wet. I am wondering how she will do as they have a big pond and their new pup has discovered going in the water. My dog will be staying at their house for a couple of days. I told my grandson he might want to use my car so she can ride in the back, but he insists Kermit(their dog) just lies in his truck seat next to him. I told him Gertie is much bigger and if she gets frightened she will climb all over you trying to get in your lap. That happened to me when we moved and something in back fell over and she climbed into the front seat and I was trying to fight her off till I could pull over. It sounds like you had a nice family time.

Jolie, that is great that you are back to getting your walks in. It is probably a good idea to take it slow getting back into other types of work. Working out always makes me feel better.

Roselyn, nice work. Those special days always make me feel sad too.

Jolie - Yes- I thought of that when it happened "I need a life vest for the dog" But we are holding off getting a bunch of stuff for him until we know how big he will get. He's a shelter adoption so we don't know what his father was. The mother was a lab mix.

I think I forgot to post yesterday. I did the Day 6 - Legs and Chest from Lindsay Bomgren's Split Strong program on you tube. Today was Day 7 - Back and Biceps. Yesterday didn't have background music but today did!?

I also found a new channel with step routines. I tried part of one and wow! these ladies are good! Very intricate footwork but fun once I caught on.

Today I did a fun step workout from CDorner - #123, Intermediate to Advanced Step 00 Hip Hop. Really fun workout and not too hard to get I did well with it for being so uncoordinated! This one isn't live, it's prerecorded so no talking or distractions. That is probably why I liked it so much. Music wasn't great but honestly, I didn't even hear what was playing because I was listening to her cuing so intently. Fun stuff!

Workout was 59 minutes long, burned 396 calories (woohoo!!), did 6003 steps and HR was 122/153.

Jolie - I don't know how people don't workout either, I always feel better when I'm done. Like today, I had such a horrible headache when I woke up with a stuffed up nose and now I'm fine. It makes me happy to workout, I don't know what I'd do if I didn't. Glad you are feeling a bit better, just take it easy until your low back is 100% healed. I think I have a school that will take my exercise equipment, I'm waiting to hear back. I don't want to deal with people from Marketplace or Craigslist, just too many weirdos out there.

Roselyn - I know how you feel about Father's Day. For some reason, year 2 was worse for me than year 1. It will get easier, but the sadness has stayed with me through the years. :(

Belinda - I won't regret it. I took my large weight bench down over a year ago and haven't missed it a bit. I don't bench press 125# anymore so I don't really need it. The workouts I do work well with the step platform and risers. I can't do preacher curls anymore because of my elbows so the bench is worthless. I might regret getting rid of my leg press, but it's so large and takes up so much room. For the amount of time I use it, it's not worth keeping. Glad you are feeling a bit better. Hope your appointment goes well today.

Diane - I'm not sure you did Box & Pump 4 yet either, it is alot of fun, but lots of boxing in it. You might want to hold off on it for a while. The Hip Hop workout I did today was fun. Yes, I need to get rid of this stuff, when we move I do not want to move all of this equipment with us. I just don't use them anymore, there is no point in keeping them. If I was lifting hardcore still I'd never part with them, but as it is, I don't see me lifting hardcore anymore. :( Have fun on your trip, I get the long ride to FL and your neck issues. Sitting for so long just makes it hurt so bad. Hope you get to your destination today with no issues on your neck and shoulders.

Doreen - Thanks for posting that workout today, I will check it out. I'm not too good with fancy footwork but I'll check it out.

Have a great day everyone! Taking my mom out to lunch. We are going to a Turkish restaurant, I want to try their food.

Today I had a great walk outside, all through the hills overlooking the ocean and it was cool and sunny. I traveled 4.3 miles, burned 817 calories and my heartrate was 140/171. The last hill was long and steep and I almost had to rest but I didn't, I kept pushing and made it back to my car. Wow, I will have to do that one again in the near future.

Debbie, nice job on the step workout today. I previewed the one Doreen posted, I do not think that I could do that workout, I get way to dizzy!!! Are you on vacation yet? My back cracked so hard in the middle of the night when I rolled over, I got up this morning and I have NO pain!!!! I guess that was the issue that we could not find to make it 100%. Yes!!!

Belinda, I hope you have a good doctors appointment today. I have one tomorrow too.

Diane Sue, Have a great trip!

BBL to read your posts for the day. I will be off tomorrow for my rest day, I have a doctors appointment, I want to get my blood work done, it has been over a year and a half at least. Make it a great day.

Hi everyone,

I saw the ENT today. She had to numb my nasal to use a endoscopy. I still felt the endoscopy moving around. I was hoping she would have to do it. My nasal septal is enlarged. I had sinus surgery about 10 years ago. My nose feels a little stuffed up. I I told her I stopped taking all the medications, they just made me feel worst. My head was killing me on all the medication. She doesn't want me to take more medications. Neither do I! If my turbinates get enlarged again, she wants me to come in right away instead of waiting so long. She gave me her direct phone number in case I need to be seen right away.

Before I went to my appointment DH and I walked at 6 am. I also did a seated yoga and SBF LB barre.

While DH and I drove to the ENT, we listen to The Starch Solution. I got the ebook than decided I wanted the audiobook to, lol. Pretty interesting! He also brings up all the subelements we take, except Vitamin B12.

Jolie - thank you! My appointment went well today. Hope yours goes well tomorrow too.

Debbie - thank you! I do feel each day better after I stopped taking all the medications. They just made me feel very sick. I have a bench press with over 400 pounds plates. I never used 400 lb weight plates, but use my squat rack/barbell/bench quite a bit. I would love to get rid of the bow flex. DH uses it for his PT. It just takes up so much space. That makes sense, if you do't use it why keep it. Eventually I will do the same.

Diane - I usually pick standing workouts when I don't want to lay on the floor/do floor workouts. While I was at the ENT, I decided to stopped by Rheumatology to make an appointment with doctor. I want to get off the medications for RP. The more I read about the medications we take are making us sick. I need to get this toxins out of my body. I also was scheduled to take a toxic blood test. I have to take a blood tested every 3 month to make sure the medication for RP isn't poising my body. The only medication I can't stop without a doctors advice is the methotrexate. I take very high does of this stuff. When my doctor put me on the meds I had to up the dose every 2 week for 2 weeks until I reached the right amount. I don't feel good on the medication at all. I thought the same. I do believe all the medications I been taking are making me sick. The more I read Dr. McDougall books/articles the more I am convinced I do more harm to my body than good with all this meds. Glad you feeling better too.

Good night.

Today I did CDorner mobility stretch from 2 weeks ago followed by 25 minutes of her mobility work from this morning. I figured it would at least loosen things up. I just bought my tablet with me today.

Doreen I will check that step workout out.

Debbie , I thought about doing the 00 step workout yesterday, but wanted some strength work. Chris is good with teaching steps and movement patterns.

Jolie nice work on the hill walking. You got some good mileage out

FUN!!
Workout was 56 minutes, burned 123 calories (seriously?), HR was ONLY 81/108. Come on, I get that when I'm doing dishes. Ridiculous!!

Jolie - Glad your back is better. Weird on it cracking when you rolled over, but good too! Yay!! Yes, I'm on summer break. Have been since the 16th. It's so nice being home, wish I could just not work forever.

Roselyn - Good job on your workout. I have to mow my mom's lawn today and ours probably tomorrow.

Belinda - So what is the doctor going to do for you? Did she say if you need surgery again? Did she give you more meds? I think it's smart of you to try and get off those prescription meds. They sound dangerous and I think all prescription meds are dangerous to some extent. I wish I could get off my blood pressure pills. Hope you continually get better now.

Diane - I need to do a mobility workout and will tomorrow, I am so sore this week, been having some good workouts lately. I don't want to hurt myself again so I will keep up with those mobility stretch workouts. I love them, actually.

Have a great day everyone!

This morning was Lindsay's Split Strong Unilateral Leg workout - another winner. Then I took the dog for a walk but he had so much energy we ended up jogging part of the way back home!!

I order a leach attachment arm for my bike yesterday so I can ride my bike with him. We'll see how it goes!! Might be a complete waste of time!!

This morning I managed to get in CDorner newest mobility workout. I ended up just bringing my tablet for online stuff and reading. Those mobility workouts really help. I checked today and it has been almost 2 years since I had the steroid injection in that shoulder. It is bothering me at night again.

Debbie i will have to print out that Raw workout when I get home. Nice work.

Doreen, that is great that you liked the workout. It would be fun if your pup could go with you when you ride your bicycle.

Today I did SBF upper body and core with the ball. I also walked this morning before my appointment.

I was a little ticked off my Orthodontist today. She is acting a little aggravated the last few times I saw her. As you all know, I take immune depressant medications. My immune system is down for the last few weeks. The last time I saw her she had me come around 6 pm ( I figured by them she had no people in her office) The entire waiting room was full with people. I was like WTG? No way, I open my mouth with so many patients already waiting. My Orthodontist knows my immune system is compromised. She doesn't like the fact that I can't be around a lot of people especially since I don't know if the vaccinated or not. We still have Covid everywhere. I walked out and ask for my Ortho to schedule me an early appointment in the morning, this way I am not around a lot of people. Heck, I was sick for over a month. I can't afford to get sick again. Well, the last time she acted kinda rude. Telling me she had never had a patient that took so long with Invisalign. I am not shy!!! I told her if I have know this I wouldn't gotten Invisalign in the first place. My orthodontist is used to have kids for her patients not adults and not a 58 year old. I wasn't born yesterday, lol. She chanced her tone a little. Today she scheduled an appointment for me before all her other patients come in, which I truly appreciated it. Well, the last time when she acted kinda rude to me, my husband called her and explained to her again why I can't be around people. Not sure what her problem is? Today she ask me to take my trays out. Looked in my mouth and said there isn't anything I can do for you anymore and my 3 years are up, WTH? Seriously? Fist, I paid catch and I payed for Invisalign Full. Unlimited retainers until my teeth are straight. One of my front tooth is causing some problems everything I mentioned it to my Ortho all she said it will straighten out. It didn't, it pushed my front tooth up not down. A few weeks ago, my Ortho cut out my retainers so my front tooth gets a break and she was hoping for it to come down on it's own. Today she ask me what I wanted to do? I was like my front tooth is pushed up, and it sits sideways? When she said, there isn't anything I can do I was like WTH? She also added it's very minimal, WTH? She ask me are you done? I was like no I am not!!! My teeth are not aligned and I am not happy especially since the tooth is in the front. Again, she was saying my 3 years are up. She looked at her computer, maybe she realized I paid Invisalign in full. She ended up rescanning my teeth. She better gives me more trays. I didn't spent thousand of $$ to have not straight teeth. I am still upset with her attitude she been having lately.

Debbie - yes, if I get another infection like I had for the last few weeks I need surgery. They don't know where the infection is coming from. She thinks it could be something else. I hope I am done with the infections. God knows, I had my share. I agree all meds are dangerous. The one I take has very nasty side effects. I need to get off it. I do believe we can reverse illness with a plant based diet.

I will see you all tomorrow.

I couldn't decide what do do this morning. I started with a kickbox/dance with Caitlyn on youtube - couldn't get into the dance moves in the warmup, switched to a CDoerner Step - and then finally went back to kickboxing and did Xtrain Hard Strikes. No walk with the dog this morning after all that fiddling around - I'll have to take him later.

Belinda - I feel so bad for you! My daughter wanted Invisalign and I remember all your problems and I said "I don't think its a good idea" but we'll talk to the ortho. Well- her ortho says she's had nothing but problems with them so she won't recommend them and if people really want them she refers them elsewhere. Maybe you have get in touch with the company itself instead of the ortho?

Yesterday was my rest day, I had a doctors appointment that didn't go to well. I love my doctor, she really lets me decide everything that I want to address for myself but she was irritated with me that i would not get the Covid Vaccine. She said that she thinks I am at higher risk because I workout so much, I think I am at lower risk because I workout and I work on my immune system constantly with vitamins and sleep. We went round and round for a bit and I laid it out to her why it is not a good idea, I showed her the lawsuits due to the adverse effects and she fought me on those too. I know one thing, Doctors hate to be challenged!!! Who are they, God??? We the patients can be just as smart as doctors and they better get used to smart people challenging them on their Grand Ideas! Anyway, I am just going to start telling people that I am not getting it because of my Religion and that should shut them up!!! Today I went for a 4 mile walk, 88 minutes up and down hills and burned 687 calories. Heart rate was 136/176. I am kind of scared to start lifting again so I am not sure what I will do after this week. As of tomorrow, I will have not lifted for 2 weeks. Darn, my arms are getting small :(

Debbie, nice workout today, that one looks great! You are starting to get back up there on weights again. I hope you are enjoying your summer vacation. When do you plan on moving? I know you once said that you want to move and live on a lake.

Belinda, sorry about the Ortho appointment!!! Nice job on the upper body and core workout today.

Doreen, I used to run my dog on my bike and he loved it, I would just hold the lease and hall ass!!! It was the only way to get all his energy out when he was younger and he is a small dog who could run really fast. He never once cut me off, I just held my arm out and he ran straight. Nice job on the kick boxing today.

BBL to read other posts for the day.

Have a wonderful day.

Hi everyone,

DH and I walked this morning. I also did SBF D18 LB barre.

Doreen - thank you! I still can't get over my ortho attitude. I payed way to much money to quit now. I did contacted Invisalign. My teeth are don't look that straight. I don't care how long it will take. Funny a few weeks ago, my Ortho mention braces. Now she is saying there isn't anything she can do for me? I think she realized very quickly my Invisalign plan is Full. Meaning unlimited trays and I have up to 5 years. Honestly, I have no idea why she is acting they way she is? I'll be honest, I should have looked into something else. Good for your DD looking into something else. At least I would have been done by now.

Jolie - so sorry your appointment didn't go well. I just don't get it why they are pushing the vaccine so hard on people? Look what I went through with my doctors. If the vaccine is so great and so safe why the hell isn't it FDA approved yet? Under the PREP Act, companies like Pfizer and Moderna have total immunity from liability if something unintentionally goes wrong with their vaccines. LOL, maybe I should tell people I can't get vaccinated for religions reasons. Now they talking about buster shots then comes anther shot in 6 months. I am afraid it will create a monster with my autoimmune system. Can you please share what you showed her the lawsuits due to the adverse effects? I can't find anything :(

Off to do more laundry! BBL!
