Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for February 2020!!

Today I walked on my treadmill again and then did some foam rolling. Feeling pretty dang good today. A little tightness right now in my upper right back but that's because I just used the paper cutter and cut out 300 tickets. Yikes. I am pressing my therapy ball against it right now and it is loosening the knot. I'll use my Body Buddy tonight. It looks like a torture device, but it really is a nice thing for muscle issues. This is the one I got:

Diane - You should definitely get one, I can't believe how much better you can get to the knots with it. Totally different feeling than the therapy balls. How did you reset your Versa?? Mine has been doing some wacky things but all in all, I think it keeps track pretty well.

Great workouts everyone! I've been reading all your posts just don't have time to reply to everyone. Hope I can on Sunday. Tomorrow is Solo & Ensemble. Going a bit crazy today!

Holy Crap!!! I just did Yvette Bachman, Moderate Step, Biceps, Shoulders, Triceps, Core and it killed me but I did it without pausing!!!! The step portion is all plyo legs with some sort of cardio for 45 seconds and then you move onto one body part and do 15 reps as heavy as you can lift, 30 seconds of core and repeat this for an hour!! Workout was 1 hour and I burned 636 calories, which included a nice stretch. I was breathing so hard I cant even believe it. This is one of my favorite workouts that Yvette teaches, hardly any high impact at all and if there is, I just modify.

Belinda, great job on completing 2 weeks of sts. I was going to do Disc 3 legs but decided to do Yevette instead. I will be doing all of the upper body for STS and some legs but will alternate back and forth with Yvette since I do not want to lift as much for legs because my legs get bulky. I use MSM, Chicken Sternal Collagen, EFA's, Chondroitin, and I love to get a topical spray of this stuff, shoot I cant remember the name, I used it on my horses legs after jumping cross country coarses to avoid swelling and tightness. I will look it up and let you know the name. Also, Turmeric wont stain your liners in your teeth because it is in capsule form and you swallow it. You can get all of this stuff on Amazon. Look for high potency levels. I also use a gel cream that is an anti inflammatory called Diclofenac Sodium Topical Gel, 1% and it is great for pain and swelling. You need to have your doctor write you a prescription to get it.

Debbie, great job on the walk and working all of those knots out. I love my Back Jack, that's what mine is called, same thing, because it really does work. Good luck at work, you have a lot going on.

Diane Sue, I am meal prepping this weekend, lots of chicken, zucchini, humus, carrots, celery and some greek turkey meatballs. It is 85 degrees here today so I am not making any soup! Have a nice workout.

Doreen, Great job on the workouts lately. I am going to watch some Alexia Clark videos this weekend, I love her workouts and they are great for ideas.

Roselyn, how is the hair business treating you?

My rowing machine is supposed to come today so I will put it together and try it out tomorrow. I am excited to use it, no impact whats so ever and I need some variety. I think I might sell my spin bike since it hurts my knee so bad.

85 degrees here today and tropical weather, just like Hawaii. Aloha :)

Jolie - maybe I should look into doing other leg workouts since my knees probably can't handle heavy lifting. Maybe in M3 I will change things up. I will see how I feel. I think it's a great idea to add in Yvette's leg workouts. I already been taking Diclofenac Sodium Topical Gel, 1%. I will give Turmeric a try and see if it won't stain my tray's. Thanks for all the tips on all the supplements. Do you take them all at the same time? Yeah, on the rowing machine. Enjoy your new toy and weather ! It was snowing here this morning :(

Thanks Debbie for the link. Off to buy that thing, lol

This morning I did Raw Just Step, 23 minutes, hert rate 121/147, 118 calories, 2,263 steps. My husband has changed jobs and his hours are starting at different times and the go to working all night. So, I am going to have to figure out cleaning and working out around this so we have time together. This afternoon I did Coffey Fit Raw Tabata Weight Circuits, 36 minutes, heart rate 110/160, 691 steps, 123 calories. I finished off with the Raw 5 day strength day 5 stretch, 37 minutes, heart rate 83/98, 44 calories, 83 steps. Total time was 96 minutes, 285 calories, 3,037 steps.
I went through my raw workouts that I have written up to find ones I have specifically written down no overhead presses, or shoulder friendly etc. I could not find this one at first when I was trying to pull it up. It was in the complete library, but not in one of the other sections.. I have done it quite a bit.
Raw Tabata Weight Circuits heavy medium and light weights with increases half way through the workout. Kelly starts with 8,10 and 15# She also uses a step or bench (not for much of it and I do not think it is necessary)
Rounds 1-3 are timed at 20 seconds per exercise going from one exercise right to the next
1 arm row 15# dumbbell
bench press 15# dumbbells
biceps curls 12# dumbbells
lateral raise/front raise 5# me Kelly uses 8's
triceps overhead extensions 8# dbs held together
squats 15# dbs
suitcase deadlifts 15# dbs
Rnd 4 and 5 raise the weights to 20 heavy, 15 medium, and 10 light and changes the biceps to supination curls and shoulders to just lateral raises I raised shoulders to 8# and kept the bench presses at 15#

Debbie, you have been busy. That is a lot of cutting to do. The Body Buddy is the one I have looked at. Yes, they do look like some wicked torture device, but I can see it working. I have tried finding things at home to use in the past because a person can't dig into some of the places themselves that the PT can. I am so happy that you are feeling so much better.

Jolie, isn't the plyo impact?? Great workout today. I need to meal prep. I went and bought vegetables today and some berries . I want to have some meals and soups ready since I am getting a procedure on my eyelids next week to get rid of the lid overshadowing my vision. I am not sure how I will feel for a few days after. Hopefully just the initial anesthesia will be the worst of it. Although there will be stitches.
I buy the Meriva or Curcumin that is BC 95 on the label. I sort of laugh at the makers of Quinal (sp) and there ads for their curcumin. No way is it the best availability. I did buy a bottle of the Quinal because I ran out of ubiquinol that I was taking with E and Niacin for cholesterol and heart. Nothing really special there but marketing. The sun is out here today and in the 60's so pretty nice out.

Belinda, if I remember right you probably would not want to do all of those leg workouts in STS. Unless you go light and modify a lot. I was reading a Web MD article for Rheumatoid Arthritis and it says to lift 25% of your body weight for lower and something like 10 to 15% for upper. I think they were saying that is the max weight. But, weight lifting is recommended. No more than 2 to 3 days a week.

Roselyn, that is a good quick upper body workout.

Debbie, to reset my watch I click on settings on the watch, scroll down to about, scroll down again and there is either shut down or reset. I used the reset button as shut down did nothing for me. Sync it first with your cell phone. Mine kept most of my stuff. I still need to go set which workouts I want on it. But, at least with the Versa you can click more and find the workout you want to use. Afterward I had to set up my wifi and Bluetooth with the new Versa 2 since it was confused. Maybe I should have removed it first, but I did not.

Hi everyone,

I a JS walk this morning. I also did SBF Feel Good Arms & Cardio = 19 min + SBF BarreAmpetFire Sleek + Toned Shoulders = 11 min plus Fire Abs Blast = 13 min and Fire Relaxation Stretch = 12 min.

I will be back later.

Another Holy Crap workout again today! My husband got up early today and put together my new ROWING machine and I couldn't be more please with my purchase. This is one of the hardest cardio machines I have ever used, it works every body part not just legs like my other pieces of equipment. I started my workout off by rowing 15 minutes, yes, I thought I would die, and I did 401 strokes. You lead with your legs and pull at the end, it is like you are doing 401 leg presses or squats. Then I walked on my TM for 35 minutes uphill, 7.0 incline, 3.3 speed and walked 1.9 miles. Then I got back onto my rower and did another 5 minutes, 100 strokes, and I am dead!!! Workout was 55 minutes and I burned 531 calories. My forearms, biceps, back and legs are fried! If this doesn't get me in shape, nothing will. I will probably use it for warm ups sometimes along with my weight work.

Belinda, way to go on the workout this morning. I am so happy that the rowing machine does not hurt my knees. I will probably have to use a back brace of some sort to support my lower back but other than that I am happy that it is 0 impact.

Diane Sue, good luck with your upcoming surgery. It's a good idea that you are meal prepping for after the surgery.

Off to go and look at some more houses, I am now looking to buy since there is little for rent on the market. Who knows what will happen.

Have a wonderful day.

My workout is done. I was dragging this morning since I was still up at midnight. I did Step Boss Step Sync timesaver mix 5 Finished product done 3 times, 37 minutes, 171 calories, heart rate 114 average, 147 max, 3,673 steps. This includes all of those power boxes every time. I followed this with Coffey Fit Raw abs finisher, 21 minutes, heart rate average 92, max 127, 38 calories, 347 steps. I finished with Youtube Jessica Smith Post workout stretch, 15 minutes, 18 calories. Total time was 73 minutes, 227 calories, 4,020 steps.

Jolie, I am glad that you really like your rower. You really got it a tough long workout. I hope you find the house that you want.

Jolie - so glad to hear you like the rower. I need to set up my Bowfex, it does have a rower too. Using a back brace is probably a good idea.

Diane - thanks for all the info. I don't lift very heavy for lower body. I think I am good in M1 and 2. Upper body I most doing them sitting to take the pressure of my knees. Great job this morning.

Hi,

I don't know if I told you my DD dog had was diagnosed with heart problems a few month ago. He is 11 years old. He is on a lot of heart meds. DD is on a business trip to CA I been watching her dog since yesterday. I been watching her dog since he was diagnosed with his heart problem.Well, today DH and I wanted to take her dog and my 15 year old dog for a short walk. Both dogs can't go for long walks anymore. My dog doesn't walk much anymore. My DD dog's collapsed in our yard. He laid there lifeless, not moving. At first, I thought he tripped over something. I waked him, called his name. He was unresponsive, lifeless, I couldn't feel his heart. I picked his little lifeless little body off the streets. I didn't felt a heartbeat, his head was flopping backward. I couldn't feel a pulse or heartbeat :( My husband preformed CPR on him.DH and I rushed him to the nearest vet. The nearest Urgent Care Vet is 25 min from where we live. The dog by them came out of it but very slowly. He laid in my arms the entire time, the dog in all this year never done that. Scary! I was siting in my lap the entire ride to the urgent care vet.The dog is usually a very hyper dog. The vet clinic took X-ray's gave him a shot for his heart. They recommended for us to take him to a radiology vet another 15 min. The dog had to stay for observation. Tomorrow he well see a radiology vet, get more test done. I am a mess. I was shaking when her dog laid lifeless in my arms. My DD called while we talk the the vet at the radiology. She is a mess, worrying about her dog. I feel so bad for both. She loves that dog. We already called a few times checking on the poor dog. I was afraid to take the dog home and something happened in the middle of the night. The dog is in good hands and on watch for the next 24 hours. The clinic let us back where the dog is staying over night. I was relieved they had a full staff watching him 24 h. I known the dog for 11 years never seem him so calm:( I am worried he had a stroke or something.
