Yesterday by the time I got home from work my right side was hurting really bad again. I swear it's my desk, mouse and the way I'm sitting. I have tried to readjust to the best that I can and still I was bad last night. I did foam rolling, used the therapy ball and heated my right side and that helped a lot. It's a different pain now, it's more of an ache than a pain, but still. I took an Aleve and felt great this morning - until I sat at my desk for the first hour of the day. I am standing as much as possible today. ridiculous.

I walked on my treadmill for 36 minutes, burned 222 calories, went 1.75 miles and did 4180 steps. HR was 117/135.

Then I did Jessica's Gentle Yoga for Neck and Shoulders. Felt AWESOME to do that workout today. It really helped loosen up. Love that one.

Diane - I'm so sorry you were in pain again, I can relate for sure. I sure hope you feel better today. I want to do Box and Pump and kickboxing workouts so bad, but I am going to wait until I know I can do it without irritating this issue. I am feeling better, but it sure is taking it's good old time.

Jolie - I ordered that therapy stick you showed us a while ago, the Body Buddy. Hopefully I can get some of these knots out with that, although the knots are much better.

Have great workouts everyone!

I just finished Step Boss I Max 4 with the extended chair stretch, 60 minutes, heart rateaverage 112/max 161,242 calories, 4,189 steps. I spent a lot of time messing with my Fit Bit. The app updated this morning and I swear it is worse. When I was finishing up with the warm up, which is not a light warm up, it said my heart rate was 61. Then when I started into the workout during the first blast I was in the 70's. I kept moving it around and finally put it on my dominant wrist and it was a little better, but not great. I checked using met 6.20 instead of Cathe's met 7.20 and calories would have been 329 for my weight etc.. This seems more correct to me, but I just keep using what the watch says. I was hoping the update woud help. Maybe they listened to the people that said there's gave the too high of reads on the forums. I am irritated.

Debbie, I am tired of dealing with the pain. I have tried to be careful for so long. The thing is when my neck itself is hurting it is usually making grinding and clicking when I turn my head and then the pain all gets worse. I am rolling several times a day, stretching often. Last night it hurt so bad and I iced and took advil. II hope that device helps with your knots. Really, the ice felt good, but I did watch a youtube where the Chiro says not to ice as you need the sygnovial fluid to move and ice does not help it do that. He said to use heat. They never used ice at the PT place for me either. I heard them asks other clients if they needed ice before they left. I guess it depends on what you are getting worked on. They used heat on me and the 10's unit.

Doreen, nice work and great that you did the core at the end ;)

Roselyn, nice work on Upper Buff Body.

I just saw my doctor about my knees. I recommended i get a shot in my knees. He also said if I am not careful with my workouts I need a knee replacement down the road. He doesn't want me to hour long cardio or lift super heavy. I will do shorter cardio workouts. I still plan on doing Zumba Strong and abs shortly. My version of low impact. I modify even more than in the DVD. I am getting really good in modifying.

Zumba Strong = 60 min done. The modifier didn't modify any of the jumping jacks or high impact. He modified the rest. I ended up modifying the moves on my own. Lots of burpees, jumping jacks and high impact jumping. Way to high impact for this old girl. There wasn't anything new you haven't seen before, except the moves are synced to the music. The music wasn't bad. The instructors cuing was off. I also did 10 min abs from YT and Namaste Yoga Season 1 - Exalted Warrior.

This morning I created my own "Cycle and Strength" workout. I did about 3-5 minutes on the bike and then did a circuit of moves from stuff I've saved on instagram that I casted to my TV to follow along. I did one circuit of landmine legs, one metabolic dumbell circuit, another circuit of landmine legs, and other metabolic dumbell circuit and then finished on the bike for a total of 50 minutes. I will try to post links to the circuits later.

Wow Doreen, you killed it today! :)

Today I did STS Meso 1 Disc 2 Back and Triceps and had an exceptional workout! :) Belinda, I am so fired up that we are doing these workouts together! I added 3 AB exercises to the end and another set of lite weight Deadlifts. Workout was 1 hour 3 minutes and I burned 403 calories. I will be feeling these muscles tomorrow! Average heart rate was 119 and max was 163. Yesterday I got really busy and forgot to check in, I walked 3 miles outside, it is absolutely beautiful here! 80 degrees here today :)

Belinda, Loving our workouts! I swear, Cathe's older workouts rock! Great job on the workout today and sorry to hear about your knees. A lot of Doctors always instill fear into their patients, listen to your body and do what you can. I am going to the Chiro tomorrow to get my ankle and knee adjusted because mine are out of alignment. I hope to few much better afterwards.

Roselyn, do STS with us!!!! You will love going back to this oldie but a goodie. It is my favorite rotation of all time. I love BB as well but the leg workouts kill me.

Debbie, sorry to hear about your pain issue. I love that device that you purchased, you can hit places that you cant his with a foam roller or tennis ball.. Take it to work with you and use it if you feel our muscles tightening up. Great job getting a walk in today.

Doreen, i am going to purchase the Sunny Health and Fitness magnetic rowing machine, the one that holds up to 300 pounds and fits men up to 6 feet 4 inches so my son can use it too. This one costs about $325 on Amazon and i am getting the memory foam sit pad as well. I am ordering it today. I will let you know how i like it when i use it. You are killing it with the workouts lately. Way to go!

Have a wonderful day. Diane Sue, i will BBL to read your post.

This morning I did RAW Home Gym Intervals #1. I went way light but I am feeling pretty good today. I think for the rest of the week I will just walk on my treadmill. Give myself a bit more extra time for healing. I am happy to have gotten two of these workouts in this week.

Each interval was 1 minute:

Squats - 10's
Cardio
Front Curls - 10's
Cardio
Squat/Alternate Pledge - 10's
Cardio
Goblet Squat/Calf Raise - 15#
Cardio
Front Raise - 12#
Cardio
Plie w/Upright Row - 8's
Cardio
Kickstand Deadlifts - 12's
Cardio
Overhead Dumbbell Extension - 12#
Cardio
Deadlifts/Kickbacks (I did only deads) - 12's

Workout was 30 minutes, burned 213 calories, HR was 125/158. Traveled about 1 mile and did 2713 steps.

I also did the Jessica's Neck and Shoulders again. This yoga loosens me up really well.

Have a great workout everyone! I'll BBL!

No workout today. I had my granddaughter over and took her in to get scanned for her Invisaligns then took her to her school. She stayed the night and the appointment was early. By the time I got back I was just not feeling it. I have been coughing like crazy which does not help the neck issue. It is better though. I figured a rest was a good thing. I will get back at it tomorrow.

Belinda, nice work with Zumba and STS. I hope you can avoid knee surgery in the future. Did the doctor give you a shot in your knees?

Doreen, the links don't work. I will have to look on Instagram. I haven't even put Instagram on my newer tablet. I used to use it to follow my grandchildren and family along with fitness stuff. Nice way of putting it together.

Jolie, that is great that you and Belinda are doing STS together. I don't think I could handle it right now, but it would be fun. Nice workout today. I could use some warm weather. It is cold here today. Some lady kept holding the dentist office door open while talking to her son and going in and out. She kept the waiting area cold. I was wishing I had worn my warm coat.

Debbie, that is great that you are doing so much better. I hope to be in that place one day. Every time I think I am doing well I get a set back. I love that Jessica Smith Yoga segment. It really does help a lot.

Today was a total BUST! I got an email from Xtrainfit that they had lowered their online subscription fee ($4 per month now of $24/year!!) They produced RIPT90 by Jody Hendrix and which is a great program and I saw they had the videos from KettlebellKickboxing on the site so I thought I would give it a try.... well - That Kettlebell Kickboxing series is not much kettlebell and not much kickboxing!! I started and stopped 3 different videos in the seires before doing the Amazing Arms workout.

This is the series (and I should have read this before doing the workouts):
https://2lazy4gym.com/2015/03/20/kettlebell-kickboxing-the-body-series/

There are a few other programs by other trainers in addition to the two programs RIPT90 and RIPT90FIT by Jody that I may try before cancelling my 7 day free trial. I have both those programs on DVD so if there is nothing else I like on the streaming site its not even going to be worth the $4/mo.

Jolie - My spin bike is by Sunny. Good price and it has held up well. Your rower should service you well!

Debbie- good idea to give yourself grace to listen to your body. I was just reading how beneficial walking is to the body too - sometimes better than hard workouts!

Diane - sorry the links don't work! I don't understand Instagram very well - I just know how to save things to collections to watch later!!

Today I walked on my treadmill for 40 minutes, I'm reading another good book so time flew. I then stretched and foam rolled for 15 minutes.

So I used the Buddy Body Stick last night and OMG does that thing get into the knots good. I did my right side, which has been the side giving me all these issues and I couldn't really feel many knots there. So I did my left side and holy moley, there was one very large knot hiding behind my shoulder blade that the stick found. I pressed on it for 30 seconds and then moved the stick up and down and kept doing that. By the time I was done my upper back was really warm and I could literally feel the muscles and blood moving and expanding. I took a hot shower and then was worried that it might swell up so I placed ice on it for about 15 minutes. Today it is very sore and hurts a bit, but I expected that. I will do it again tonight and ice it again.

Diane - I know what you mean about whether we should ice or heat. I've been using my heat bags and they feel so good. But after pushing on that knot yesterday, it felt like it was swelling up so I figured ice would be better. I guess you have to figure out if you have inflammation or not. Heat is bad for inflammation. I have the neck cracks and grinding noises as well. There are times I'm typing at work and I look down and my neck just pops really loud. So loud sometimes it scares the crap out of me. It doesn't really hurt when it doest that, though. I can't help but wonder if that is what is causing all this but my neck is actually fine now. I have great mobility and can turn my head side to side with no problems. The cracking and grinding happens daily, though.

I hope you all have great workouts!! BBL!

Hi guys,

I did RWH Low Impact HiiT 1 this morning. Started cleaning my house.

Jolie - I am loving the older workouts too. My doctor doesn't try to scare me. He is the one telling me for month to stop high intensity workouts. Just walk, swim or anything that is low impact. He isn't pressuring me into getting a shot. It's just something he thinks I should try since my knees been bordering/in pain for 2 month. I hope your Chiropractor helped with your alignment. Oh, he also recommended physical therapy for my hamstring. Maybe I will do that.

Debbie - I need to check in that body stick. Where can I find it? Glad it's helping. Great job yesterday and today.

Diane - he wants me to make an appointment to get shots in my knees. I had shots in my knees before. I trying to avoid getting anther shot by cutting my cardio workouts and modifying even more. How old is your granddaughter? Make sure she gets in Invisaligns FULL. It will cover all her trays, no matter how long or how many she needs. Did they say how long she needs Invisalign?

BBL!

Unfortunately I did not get to workout this morning, I had a doctors appointment that I had completely forgotten about until they called last night to confirm. Oh well, this will be a rest day. 85 degrees here today!!!!~

Debbie, I told you that stick works!!!!!!! I use mine all of the time, I press on the knots till they release. My Chiropractor is the one that turned me on to it years ago and I have been using it ever since. Those knots can be so hard and tuff to break up, but once you do, you will feel so much better. Great job on the walk and getting in some reading :)

Belinda, great job on the low impact cardio today. Do you take any supplements for your cartilage and connective tissues? I take a lot of MSM, Turmeric ect. and that helps me a lot.

Doreen, you really find some interesting workouts to try. I love variety too!

Diane Sue, I hope you have a good workout today. I wish you could do STS with us too!

Have a nice day.

Jolie - hope your doc appointment went well today. I was on med for arthritis. It caused severe stomach cramping. Had to stop it. I take fish oil when I remember. I am not good with taking supplements. What is MSM? Can I buy it at Costco? I haven't taking Turmeric. I am afraid it will turn my Invisalign yellow. What do you recommend I take? I try anything at this point. I really appreciate your help. Where can I buy the stick? I know you posted it a while back. I can't find it. Enjoy your warm weather. It's very cold and stormy outside.

This morning I did Kelly Coffey Cardio Quick Fix both workouts combined, 45 minutes, heart rate 127/162, 245 calories, 4,702 steps. I also did the Bonus glutes, abs, and hips from this workout, 15 minutes, 57 calories, heart rate 113/143, 396 steps. I finished with Gentle Yoga neck and shoulders, 19 minutes, 25 calories, heart rate 86/105, 46 steps. My Fitbit Versa 2 seems to be working better after resetting it. Total time was 79 minutes, 327 calories, 5,144 steps. I used a 2# dumbbell for the bonus glutes, abs, and hips. The moves with the dumbbell are fast and I did not want to do the bow and arrow pulling move with anything heavy.

Doreen, I can see the videos today. I don't know why they were not working yesterday. Those look like great moves to use. Doing it as a circuit would be a tough workout. Do you use a bar for that? Sorry the workouts you signed up for and tried today were not what you hoped for. Yes, it does pay to check out reviews. I hope you find some of them workouts useful.

Debbie, I used to read a lot of books when I had a treadmill. Sometimes I miss that. I find when my neck is grinding and cracking a lot when I move my head that it generally will turn into neck pain. Sometimes it hurts when it pops and sometimes it doesn't. When it hurts I think it is somehow causing a nerve that runs down across my shoulder to react. When I am rolling my upper back and shoulder area and it pops, it generally does not hurt. I figured that stick would do a good job at getting to those areas. I should probably get one.

Belinda, I understand wanting to avoid the shots in your knees if you can. I read that too many steroid injections can actually do more harm that good on the joints. I have been able to keep some things from getting as bad as they were by backing off when necessary. My neck is a constant worry though. I have a rare day where it isn't bothering me at all. You could probably get some relief with your hamstring. I watched them work with people with lower body issues.
My granddaughter is 12. I am not sure what her parents set up for her with these. I took her in a couple of weeks ago because the bands or whatever she was wearing was hurting and they took them out and scheduled to get the Invisaligns started. She goes back the 16th of April to get the trays. I imagine I will be taking her. They just give me an appointment card and tell me what to tell my daughter.
MSM is often in glucosamine and chondroitin supplements.

Jolie, most of the places I have appointments with call me a couple of days ahead. I have them in my phone though and it reminds me ahead too. I have watched them use that stick on different chiro, and PT youtubes. I remember the first time I did STS I got where I was lifting at my all time high.

Good morning,

STS W2 D6 is done.

Diane - this is the reason I am avoiding getting the shots. I hope by backing off my workouts I can control the pain/swelling in my knees. I will make an appointment for my hamstring. Maybe they can help with that. I already cut my cardio workouts. I will limit it to 30 min a day. I heard the bands can be painful. I am glad I didn't needed bands with Invisalign. Thank you! I will pick up some MSM this weekend.

I will be back later.

This morning I did KCM Stong and Lean DVD on RAW - the newest DVDs she just uploaded. I just did the Stong workout but I LOVED it - so much that I did it twice! Great workout that way - total time 50 minutes. I may try to do the boxing part tomorrow- we'll see.
