Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for August 2021

Yes, God bless our military and americans in Afghanistan. I look at our world right now and say "Am I really living in this shit show?" Very embarrassed for our country.

This morning I did RAW Strength 2 Cardio Acceleration. I had a great workout and love this one. I can't wait for her to do more. Non stop workout, when you aren't lifting, you're doing active recovery cardio. Love these types of workouts.

12 reps each lifting move, cardio was just as long as Kelly wanted it to go.

Workout was 50 minutes, guessing I burned around 206 calories. Great workout, loved this one!!

Jolie - I think it was more like 11 marines that lost their lives. I keep hearing conflicting reports, go figure. Nice job with pyramids, that one is a favorite of mine as well. I don't think I'm going to go for the job, you have to know EPA and DOT laws and I don't really want to get into all of that. But I will keep my eye on their website to see if anything else comes open. And no, it's not a school it's a hazardous waste plant. I was wondering how you and your dad owned a supplement store and always wondered why you don't anymore. Yea, I bet the government and medical industry was up his butt with a fine tooth comb. It's ridiculous that they won't let people promote supplements. I think the laws are better now about those types of stores and holistic approaches but I bet they have to jump through hoops with paperwork. Unbelievable.

Diane - Have fun wherever you are going. If you happen to see these posts, did you say Kelly's RAW channel is on Roku? I need to check that out, that would be awesome.

Belinda - Hope you have a great workout today.

Roselyn - Nice job with Beast! I miss those workouts.

Doreen - Great job with CL!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Today I went for a 4.9 mile walk and boy was it hot. When the weather is hot my feet swell and hurt even wearing my new shoes. Walk was 1 hour 36 minutes and I burned 792 calories. My arms are so sore from yesterday's workout :)

Amazing what happened yesterday and did you all see our President's speech, PATHETIC!!! He looks so weak, no wonder all of our allies said they dont want to work with the US going forward. He needs to go but Kamala is worse, she has ZERO Foreign Policy experience and she could get us in some real trouble too. Wait for all of the terrorist attacks going forward. President Trump eliminated all of this and now here we go again and it is almost the 20 year anniversary of 9/11! Makes me sick!

Debbie, great job on the workout today, that looks like a lot of fun. I am going to sign up for RAW workouts this Fall. I am looking forward to trying them once it gets cooler. The Government is a nightmare when it comes to Nutrition Companies, but worse it hated my dad telling people the truth and how they could be healthy without relying on doctors and meds. Well, we had a great run and it was time for my dad to retire at the time. We had to have several lawyers on staff just to field all of the government issues. I have all of his radio shows on tape so I love to listen and learn.

Roselyn, I love Body Beast workouts!

BBL to read the posts for the day.

Hi everyone,

I am done with all my appointments . My physician thinks I have a frozen shoulder? He wants me to wait 2 more weeks, if the pain doesn't go away he wants me to get an MRI done. The PT was painful today. The stretches he did freaking hurt:( I also had to get blood tests done for my 3 month check up for RP. I am getting another sinus/ear infection. I am also losing my voice and my voice box(?) is closing off which could be related to RP. He agrees with my Rheumalogist to see a ENT specialist/surgeon.

OH, before I went to all my appointments I did Caroline G. D5 TB workout. No walk today.

Julie - The China study talks about how corrupt the government/Pharma is, especially when it comes to medicine, dairy and meat industry. They want people to stay sick. Sick people makes them $$$$. Why do you think I believe in healthy eating. I always wondered why you know so much about supplements. If you or your dad know some supplement that would help with RP, I am all ears.

Debbie - my husband served in the military for almost 32 years. It's very sad what is happening in Afghanistan. My heart is broken for 11 marines that lost their lives. I pray for their families during this difficult times. I can't imagine what they are all going through. It's heartbreaking!

Doreen, Diane and Roselyn - great job!

I will be back later.

Today I went for a 4.5 mile walk, 80 minutes and burned 788 calories. My knees are sore since I bought new shoes, I wonder why? Maybe not enough support? I need to get some insoles today to see if that works.

This whole Afghanistan debacle is just sickening! My boys are the age of the young men that gave their lives for our freedom and our country. Shame on this President!!!! If he or Kamala laugh one more time when asked serious questions regarding the withdrawal, I think I will scream!!!!!! This is not a joke to the American people but apparently it is to the dumb asses that were elected to lead our country. My nephew was deployed 5 times to Afghanistan hand he lost everyone of his friends in this war! I hate our President!

Hi everyone,

Walked early this morning. The humidity was so high already. I also did SBF D6 TB barre.

DH and I are in DC painting DD’s laundry room before she get her washer/dryer. Her laundry room is very tiny. We will stay until tomorrow.

i will catch up tomorrow.

I am home now. I will do a workout tomorrow. I was in so much pain through the neck, back, and shoulders, just from this trip and trying to find a position to sit comfortably in the hotel. I took Advil the whole time and when I got home did a mobility stretch and foam rolled which helped. Also soaked in some bath salts. It is somewhat better today, but I have a whole cluster of swollen lymph nodes on the side of my neck again. I noticed that today when I was rubbing my neck and the large one was tender.
We arrived at the hotel and the first thing we did was turn on the news and watched all of this devastating stuff going on. It breaks my heart for our men that were lost and those that are there. What a lousy way of handling things. I cannot believe this administration has done so much damage in such a short amount of time to our country. Also cannot understand their lack of love for their own people.
My husband has been there too. It makes us angry

Belinda, I am so sorry that they think it is frozen shoulder. I endured pain at the PT sessions for awhile, but finally started telling them when something was really hurting. The one I saw most of the time finally lightened up and was less aggressive with the sessions. That is so nice of you and your husband painting the laundry area for your daughter. It is miserable to do without a washer and dryer. Funny my daughter had to wait a long time when the virus thing started and put her clothes in her whirlpool tub and turned it on.
I agree on government and meds. I read a whole story while sitting in the hotel from a woman that had severe RA and was on Methatrexate and steroids and in lots of pain. She finally told them no and researched a lot. She changed her diet saying the final thing which was hardest was giving up coffee. She found the right people to help naturally and found someone that specialized in yoga for her condition. She gave a whole plan that she did and altered as needed. After several months she was tested and the RA came back negative. She was able to get back to her job and activities. Gives me some hope. I am terrible about being dedicated. I suppose it would be better if others didn't want to get me things I shouldn't eat. If I can find where I read this, I will post it. Although that is not RP, but maybe sometime you will be able to find ways to get into remission. I feel bad for you with your ear again.

Debbie, I just went to the Roku website and did a search for CoffeyFit and it was there so I added it. I checked and it is there on my tv now. That will be so much easier. Nice work on the Strength acceleration workout. I like the cardio breaks too rather than just standing around.

Jolie, I have read so much about the government and health. So much money in pharmaceuticals and money passed back and forth. They don't want us well. I constantly read stuff and work on my own health issues as all I get from doctors is meds and procedures which is what they are there for I guess. There are alternatives, but other types of clinicians do things that the insurance companies will not pay for. Sometimes we absolutely have no choice, but we can sure try to do everything possible first. The problem with RA and steroid injections is it deteriorates the joints over time as does nsaids. Pain is terrible sometimes though. I always dread seeing Kamala or whatever her name is speak. It is always ignorant and that giggle over things is infuriating. I don't think either one of them are the ones making the decisions though. So you recommend Life Extension supplements? I always try to find companies that I know well and are reputable.

Doren, that sounds like it would be a lower body that I would like.

This morning I did RAW Intervals 5 and had a great workout. This one is short and not much of a warmup in it, but I did a few warmup moves and then did it.

Each set was 1 minute, however, I think the kettlebell moves were a 1:30 which was WAY TOO LONG. I'm not sure why those drills were longer than 1 minute. Fun workout, though, and it went by fast.

Kettlebell: Halo - 10#
Boxing Drill
Squat/Elbow to Knee
Hammer Curl/Press: 10's
Kettlebell: Crazy 8's - 15#
Boxing Drill
Genie Arm Squat Pulses
Kickstand Row/Hammer Curl: 10's
Kettlebell: Alternate Swings: 15#
Boxing Drill
Reverse Lunge/Kickstand Scale
Rainbow Shoulder Press/Triceps Extensions: 10#
Kettlebell: Double Arm Swings: 15#
Boxing Drill
Dumbbell Situps: 8's
Chest Press/Bridge: 10's

Workout was 28 minutes and I estimate calorie burn to be 160 calories. That's what I burned last time I did this.

Also jogged/walked on my treadmill for 15 minutes, burned 115 calories and went .8 miles. I did a one minute jog, one minute rest for 5 cycles. Fun!

Diane - I will check out Kelly on Roku, that is cool!! Glad you are back and so sorry you were in such pain. Sitting is what does it to me as well. I wanted to share this youtube video, I watched it yesterday after watching a few others and finding out that my upper back problem might be nerve related and not muscular. I've done this stretch a few times and it is helping. Hope it makes this pain I get when I sit go away:

See what you think.

Have a great day everyone, no time for personals but great job with your workouts this weekend!!

Hi everyone,

Yesterday DD, DH and I walked for 3.5 miles. My DD lives near beautiful parks. Got home late last night.

Today DH and I walked outside. I did SBF workout and Lite UB and seated stretch is done.

Diane - I am not even sure if I have a frozen shoulder to be honest? I was told 3 different things so far, lol. If the pain doesn't go away in 2 week I will get the MRI done. I am getting tired of the pain. My range of motion is getting better expect anything lateral/putting my arm behind my back. MyPT was aggressive. He did lighten up when I couldn't take it anymore.

I will be back later.

Yesterday was a rest day. Today I was supposed to do an upper body workout but my son was using the gym so I went on a walk instead, tomorrow will be upper body. Today's walk was 1 hour 38 minutes, traveled 4.8 miles and burned 844 calories. It is hot and humid here today, there is a hurricane off Mexico and it is pushing up some serious humidity. I really had to push myself to finish this walk, the humidity wipes me out. Today's heart rate was 144/183. I wasn't sure if I would make it up the last hill which is a quarter of a mile to my house.

There is a huge memorial at the Marine Base where most of these service men were based out of in, my house backs the Military base. There are huge war ships out in the ocean, they must be on high alert. Scary times, especially with this President leading for the USA, The next 3.5 years are going to be very scary for our country and I wonder if we will ever be able to come back from the devastation.

Debbie, way to go on that workout today! How did it feel to jog again? I have to get back on my elliptical once it cools off because that is one tuff workout for me.

Diane, I am happy that you are back and sorry you did not feel well on your trip. I hope you are able to get a workout in today. Yes, Life Extension vitamins are probably the best in the industry, they are comprehensive formulas and I buy a lot of them. They were hit a lot of times by the government but they have such deep pockets that being fined 10 million dollars wont put them out of business. The government is backing off a bit since people are demanding natural alternatives.

Belinda, way to go on the walk and upper body workout. My husband had frozen shoulder and had a fascia specialist come to the house and workout on it and it went away. You have to be patient but you have to have it worked on to see any relief.

Make it a great day, BBL to read the other posts for the day.

Today I did CDorner Upper Body and Tabata cardio Interval, 50 minutes, 179 calories, heart rate 113/147, 2,399 steps. I used the rebounder for the cardio intervals and did squat jumps on the rebounder and more high knee runs rather than the progressive burpee cardio segment. I also only used 8 and 10# dumbbells and one loop band instead of two when she used two. I then did CDorner Upper Body and Neck Stretch, 23 minutes, 46 calories, heart rate 85/102, 116 steps. I don't know why I am having problems watching CDorner on youtube. I went to one tv and it started right out spinning and took forever to turn on youtube. I then went to another tv and it took a long time to turn on youtube and I kept having to push different buttons till it loaded the workout. Then it would only pause or play with the play arrow in the middle of the screen and other workouts at the bottom of the page. I did it with it like that. Totally weird. Apparently it worked for others when it was live. It looks like Chris has a lot of cardio this week.

Upper Body Intervals and tabata cardio 20 work/10 rest
push ups 20 seconds then bentover rows (or renegade rows) 10# dumbbells
repeat 4 times
cardio 2 jacks1 squat 20/10 followed by jump squat 20/10 I used the rebounder
repeat 4 times
chest fly 8# dbs ( I think she used 17's) 20/10 followed by pullover 8# dbs 20/10
repeat 4 times
cardio high knees 20/10 followed by mountain climbers or kicks ( I did high knees on the rebounder for all sets)
repeat 4 times
band around wrists and dumbbells (she uses two bands) I used one heavy loop band with 10# dumbbells
band around wrists hold 1 dumbbell stationary and do triceps with other arm I used 10# dumbbells and dropped to 8# other 3 sets
repeat 4 times
cardio mix of all previous moves jack squat, jump squat, high knees, mountain climbers
repeat all
band triceps kickback 20/10 followed by band around wrists arms in front and pull out 2010
repeat 4 times
cardio is a burpee progressions/ I did squat jumps and ski jumps on the rebounder
4 moves then repeat all

Debbie, nice work today. I keep looking at some of those that use a kettlebell and I know I saw one that had a limited amount of swings and k-bells were used for strength. I am just a bit worried about swinging a kettlebell with my shoulder issue. I have tried researching that, but have not found anything definitive on that. I spent so much time the last few days researching auto-immune disease. It seems there are those that say they got rid of the RA. Different protocols worked for different people and it seems one plan does not fit all. Also it is my understanding auto-immune disease cannot be healed. Maybe put in remission. Another thing I hit on and am looking back through my viewing to find the government study that showed there is a link between gut health, leaky gut, often caused from use of antibiotics and things that ruin the gut flora. It then lets stuff leak out and the immune system goes off trying to figure out how to take care of it. I have been so fatigued the last few days. Naps every day to barely get back up and going.
Thanks for the stretch video. It looks like it would target that area particularly on the left side. I am pretty sure I have nerve damage on that side. If inflammation is down the weird feelings and pain let up. It feels puffy compared to the other side when I am experiencing pain and crawly feelings.

Belinda, I would imagine the PT people get pretty used to people not "wanting to tolerate" discomfort and do not realize they really are hurting some of us. I have a high tolerance level, but sometimes they go overboard. I am sure they checked how much range of motion that you have. Mine is mostly that place in the front where things all meet and there are nerves and pain can radiate down past my elbow. It set it off today when I put a 32 bottle pack of water in the cart and put it in the trunk. I had my husband get it out of the car when I got home. It worries me that I am still have some pain even after the steroid injection. That is positive that your range of motion is getting better. Lateral moves and flies really affect my shoulder pain. Funny , but if I am doing straight up and down from the shoulder presses with light weight it does not bother all that much, but if I go from a biceps curl position or down at the sides and rotate up it hurts. I hope you do not have to do the mri and just continue to get better. Pain wears a person down physically and mentally.

Jolie, humidity with the heat is the worst for being outside. That must be worrisome having the warships out there at the ready. I think our country has to be really on guard for terrorism with all that has gone on and the border crossings as well. The Taliban has so much of our military high tech equipment. That was stupid. Wonder if they will keep it or sell it to other enemies. It sounds like they are leaving Americans behind since they have not got them evacuated yet. I pray they will somehow get out of there safely. I will have to look more into Life Extension supplements.

I was in some pain yesterday after doing the kettlebell workout. I think that is a no no for me. My tricep was killing me yesterday along with my upper back on the left side. Everything seemed to be getting better and than I go and do that workout. Oh well, I know now. Sort of bummed this tricep things isn't just healing already. What is the deal? So sick of dealing with it.

This morning I activated Kelly's RAW channel on my Roku and used it that way. I have to say, it is hard to find certain workouts. On my VHX app, she has everything in order and one category where the newest workouts are loaded. I don't know if I'll continue to use the Roku app, it took me forever to find a workout to do this morning. Maybe I need to mess with it when I have time to see how it's set up.

I did RAW Step #3 thinking it was totally a step workout. Nope, she had weight intervals in there as well. I did it anyways and enjoyed it, it was a great workout and I was sweating buckets. This is how it went:

No set time limit, she just went with it.

Step Boxing segment
Squat Out/Overhead Press: 10's - 12 reps
Step Boxing segment
Lunges off Step/Upright Row: 10's - 16 reps
Step Boxing segment
Alternate Plank Row/Bicep Curl: 10's (I did a few in plank position, then I stood up and just did hammer curls w/twist)
Step Boxing segment
Lunge on Step/Push dumbell out: 10# (she holds the dumbbell near her ribs, then pushes it out for shoulder work)
Step Boxing segment

Lost count on the reps, they seemed to go on forever. I miss knowing how many calories I burn but I feel like I'm working harder because I'm not looking at my FB and getting frustrated with the number it is showing. I just wish I could tell how many calories I actually burned. The workout was 43 minutes.

Belinda - That is so odd about your frozen shoulder. Could be I suppose, it is so frustrating that no one really knows. That is the exact reason I haven't gone to see a doctor about my upper back and tricep issue. This reason. No one can tell you what is wrong and it takes an act of God to get an MRI. I just keep hoping mine will get better. It does for a time and then I do something stupid and it comes back. I hope they can find something out for sure on your issue, it sounds very painful.

Jolie - So odd to hear you are dealing with humidity. I always thought the air where you are is dryer air. It's hard working out in humid weather. Great job with your walk, glad you made it home ok. It felt great to job but believe it or not, my right hamstring got really tight. I don't get it. Why does this stuff keep happening to me? Very frustrating. I need to start using my Max Trainer again.

Diane - Yep, that kettlebell workout put me in pain again. So frustrating. I was doing good up until yesterday afternoon. I'm better today but I know that workout triggered something. I just wish all of this would go away and I could feel great again. I'm sure you feel the same way. RA sounds horrible, I feel so bad for you and Belinda. Not fair that we have to go through this. We live such healthy lifestyles and still have to deal with crap.

Have a great day everyone!!

Debbie, I will have to look at Kellys Roku channel again. My Fire TV loads with newest to oldest on all of the dvds and then there is the separate cardio, strength, muscle definition etc. I just click explore when I get to her channel of Fire TV. I am so sorry that the kettlebell did that to you. It was the same with me and it has been months ago, so I have just not wanted to go there again.

I did CL 313 Step cardio bootcamp this morning.... then I checked my notes and I had done it before- anyway a nice little workout.

Today it is raining!!! This hurricane weather is getting crazy here in CA. It is currently 88% humidity. It usually is dryer weather here in So Cal but with the storms coming up from Baja it brings along the humidity. Today I was able to get into the gym and I did Cathe's Gym Style workout, Back, Shoulders and Biceps and had a really great workout. I did almost the same weights as Cathe, her BB bicep curls are "no joke"! I use half of what she was lifting on that exercise and I lifted less on some of the back exercises. Workout was 55 minutes and I burned 322 calories. However, I did add my own AB workout onto the end, my ABs have not been worked enough in a long time. These are great workouts, they are slow and you do not have to lift heavy, she uses the 2/2 count to a 6/6 count. She keeps saying in the workout, " don't go fast stay slow and controlled so you don't get hurt", but now all of her newer workouts are fast paced! This is probably why I used to never get hurt lifting weights and as I started do her Live workouts, that is when all of my issues started.

Debbie, great job on the step workout today even though it had weights mixed in. Sorry to hear about your soreness, man this is crazy what we all have been going through with pain issues. I use my infrared light on my soreness for about 10 minutes and it fixes it.. The light takes away inflammation which is where the pain comes from.

Diane Sue, great job with the workout yesterday. How are you feeling today?

Doreen, great job on the CL workout today.

BBL to read the posts for the day.

Hi everyone,

Walked and did SBF workout.

I am experience a lot of problems related to RP. Well, I wanted to get off the immune depressed medication for RP. The last few weeks my doctor slowly degreased my meds, I am on a high dose. I can't just stop taking it. Last week I had my 3 month check up with my Rheumatologist. There was another Rheumatologist both highly recommended for me to stay on methotrexate long term. Both listen to my concern. When I saw my doctor last week, I still took a lower dose of Methotrexate. My Rheumatologist wanted me to stay on the low dose at least 4 weeks. A day after my visit I experienced coughing, hoarseness, my throat burning. I figured I am coming down with a cold. Didn't think much of it. Than I started to lose my voice a few times a day. My voice box closed off, I had shortness of breath. I experienced inner ear swelling/pain in my left ear. Friday my ear was so hot when I touched it and very red on the outer ear. Yesterday I messaged my rheumatologist explaining everything I have been experiencing. He was very concerned about my voice box closing off. He put me back on the high doses of methotrexate. I am also doing another round of corticosteroid. I know one thing, I am going to do what my doctor recommends from here on out.

Debbie - isn't crazy about your fit tracker? Glad you figured it out. Honestly, I don't think I have a frozen shoulder. I will call my doctor this week letting him know I want the MRI. I also read, online it could be also related to RP? I forgot to ask my rheumatologist about it. Which all the meds I am taking I shouldn't feel a thing, lol. I hope yours gets better.

Diane - I don't get it either. Are you still seeing your PT? My doctor last week said, if I am still experience pain just call him and he will put in an MRI. I am getting tired of it. Great job!

Jolie - I am not sure I have a frozen shoulder. My PT thinks it's coming from my neck. I almost believe him, my neck is hurting.

Today I did CDorner intermediate step aerobices # 143, 37 minutes, (80's tunes) heart rate 132/75, 190 calories. I think the calories should have been a little more as mid workout my heart rate went down from the 140 range to 108 and was staying there. I finally paused and took my Garmin off and wiped it down and when I went back to working out my heart rate went up again. Not sure what that was all about. Maybe too much sweat or something. I don't think I have wiped it off for a few days though like I normally do. Charged it and went to church Sunday, yesterday plugged it in and forgot about it as I was in a hurry to go to the store. There was also vacation days. I also did CDorner Low Impact all Standing workout first 15 minutes heart rate 147/165, 97 calories, 1,528 steps. I wanted more cardio and this one seems like it will be a good one. I finished off with today's Mobility Flow to warm up and stretch tight muscles. It had a nice soundtrack for it. More yogi squat time than I like. Not that it isn't good for me though. Chris talks about all of the benefits of yogi squats. This was 32 minutes, 57 calories, heart rate 83/100, 83 steps. Total time was 83 minutes, 344 calories, 5,259 steps.

Debbie, I remember that workout having some weight intervals in it. I think it is still listed under cardio though. I have not went back to look at the roku set up yet though. On Fire TV there is a button for explore that gives the menu with types of workouts and all workouts identified. I think there is an about button and another button that has workouts, but it is not in the menu format. I used to spend lots of time looking at my Fitbit and messing with it through workouts. I don't look at my Garmin often. Just check to make sure I didn't forget to turn it on or accidentally turned it off or something. I used wonder how many calories I lost looking at my FitBit and trying to make it work right. It seemed like my heart rate should have been up because I was so angry at the silly thing. I had a PT and health guy I used to follow on youtube and facebook that had his patient hold light dumbbells at her side and rock them forward and with a light swing to help the shoulder. I wondered if swinging kettlebells would be okay as we usually use our hips to swing and I do not go past my shoulders with swings. It sure did bother me the last time that I tried though.

Doreen, I am glad that you liked the workout even though you had done it before. Nice work.

Belinda, my arthritis center I go to has all of the equipment in their office. So, getting the mri is not a problem for me either. I am not doing PT now. I just have kept up with moves that I learned at PT. They had originally set the time for 4 weeks, but I went much longer. When I went back for a recheck, my doctor signed a prescription for more PT before he finally had me do the mri. It sort of bothers me that they push things with using their equipment as it helps pay for it?? When I first went in he wanted to do another Dexa scan even though I had just had one that my primary care had set up. I told him, not if insurance was not going to pay for it and he let it go. That is frightening about what has happened with your throat and ear. Yes, it sounds like you need to be on the meds. I am so sorry. Hopefully you can get it better more quickly than in the past.

Jolie, I remember Cathe doing the slow lifting. I think things are more sped up because women tend to complain that they are not burning enough calories. Weight lifting is not really a high calorie burning workout. It builds us some muscles, so we should just expect it. Glad that you got in a weight workout. I am feeling better today, thanks for asking. I bought cucumber yesterday to try that salad recipe. Walmart was out of regular cucumbers and I had to buy a plastic wrapped English cucumber. I had to do that with Whole Foods the last time I got one. Don't know what is up with cucumbers.
