Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for August 2016

Today was full body again and I had a pretty good workout. This was the same workout as last Friday but in Superset fashion. With this rotation you are supposed to go up in weight from the last week but this workout I didn't do that. I just didn't feel it today, so I kept the weights the same or in some instances, went down. I went up in only one exercise.

Today's workout went like this:

3 sets/15 reps with 3 minute rest - warmed up with GS Legs

SS #1
Pushups
- All on toes
Upright Row - 35# and then went down to 30# - these were hard.

SS #2
Overhead Dumbbell Extension
- 30#
Elevated Deadlifts - 55#

SS #3
Seated Dumbbell Curls
- 12's
Bent Over Lateral Raise - 12's

I also walked on my treadmill for 1 mile. :)

Diane Sue - I used to wear my Surge to bed so I could see my sleep pattern, but it was so uncomfortable to sleep with it on. Once you see your sleep patterns they don't change much. So I like to take it of at night and give my wrist a break. When I workout it sweats under the band so I'll take it off and wash my wrist and the watch so the sweat is gone. That is cool that you can change your bands, I can't do that with mine.

Roselyn - I'm glad to hear your mom did well with her surgery. Hope her recovery goes well too!!

Jolie - Have a great a Friday!!

Hope you all have great workouts and a great weekend!!!

I am getting here late. I got up early and went shopping before I did my workout. Bill had me up at 5:30 this morning so he could use the treadclimber before work. I am trying to get things together because tomorrow we are doing a double birthday here for my daughter and I. So I made her a cake and am scrubbing potatoes to bake. My son in law is going to grill. I put together a no sugar lemon jello and light cream cheese desert for the ones on a diet. My grandson has lost 30 lbs now:) I am so glad he is staying with it. I have to go get ready to go to dinner. My husband has reservations to take me out tonight for my birthday dinner since the family will be here tomorrow. We are going to our friend's Italian restaurant. I am so undecided on what to get. I love the artichoke parmesan. I get that a lot. They have great food.
Today's workout was legs. I did Ripped With Hiit lift it hit it legs (was going to do cardio legs since I was on an X train streak but did not want more step) I did the mix that had abs 1 added and went back and did the stretch since the mix only has the abs stretch, 53 minutes. 331 calories. I then did Lean Legs and Abs chair firewalker and barre mix, no warm up, 31 minutes, 84 calories. Total time 84 minutes, 415 calories.
Weights today
squats 25's 24 reps followed by pop squats 24 reps
plie squats 40# 16 reps followed by narrow plie touch down jacks

This morning I did Les Mills Combat Ultimate Warrior, 305 calories, followed by Core Attack, 19 minutes, 71 calories. Total time was 72 minutes and calories 376.

Happy Birthday Diane Sue! Im off to Portland for my nephews wedding and I am totally sick with a head cold. I knew it was coming on the last two weeks since I had that low grade fever. Anyway, I will be home late Tuesday evening so I will be checking in on Wed. I did not work out the last two days but whatever, life gets in the way sometimes. Both my boys football teams won this week, beating the number two team in California!

Debbie and Diane Sue, great workouts! Keep up the good work.

Have a great next couple of days.

Thank for the birthday wishes ladies. I got some Amazon gift cards so ordered two more of the Ice workouts and Suzanne Bowen Amped barre stretch and strength. This one looks good and seems to be divided up into different body part stretches. I will have all of the ice workouts except the Mat one which I am not sure I want or need. This will give me the other Muscle Meltdowns and blizzard blasts. We had a nice time. Rest day and maybe some yoga today. Family brunch too.

Jolie , I hope you get to feeling better. Get plenty of rest. At least as much as you can.

Today starts week 5 of full body. i had a good workout but this one is high reps again and I hate high reps.

Today's workout went like this:

2 sets/18 reps with 2 minutes rest - warmed up with GS Legs

Incline Dumbbell Press - 25's
Hammer Curls - 15's
Lateral Raise - 10's
Back Band Pulls - 2 blue bands together
Lying Dumbbell Triceps Extensions - 10's
Calf Raises - 135# (used my leg press station)

Then I walked on my treadmill for 1 mile.

Diane Sue - I made the bad ass bowl again for my lunch. I haven't had this stuff in a while. It's easy to make but I always forget to soak the almonds so I had to make the awesome sauce this morning. Hope you had a great birthday weekend.

Jolie - Hope you feel better and had a good time at your nephew's wedding.

Roselyn - Hope you are doing well.

This week I am going to work mainly with the Ice workouts since I have two more coming later this week. I will do some other stuff as well. Today I did Ice Boot camp Circuit premix 6, main workout, blizzard blast, muscle meltdown biceps, and core #1, 83 minutes, 456 calories(calorie calculator using my hr average) I think fit bit mostly works for straight cardio workouts. It gave me some crazy calorie burn of 335. Map My Fitness linked t the Fit Bit gave me 551. I am always a bit ad of using the highest calorie burn. My max hr was 152. I then did Icy Core #2, 14 minutes, 52 calories which worked both with map my fitness and the calorie burn calculator. Fit bit gave me 29 calories which I am sure is incorrect. Total time was 97 minutes, and calories burned 508. Then again I look at workout manager and that mix is over 70 calories.
Biceps giant sets 12 reps each exercise 5 exercises 3 rounds
standing biceps curls 20,20,20 each hand
standing hammer curls 20, 20, 20 each hand
preacher curl on ball 15, 15, 15 each hand
incline curl on ball 15, 15, 15 each hand
concentration curl 17.5, 17.5, 17.5

Debbie, I just finished off a batch of the awesome sauce. I had the bad ass bowl and I also put some on an omelet. Sometimes I just add a little extra water if I do not get the nuts soaked. I used cashews this last time and did not soak them.

Today I did Candace's Run Fit and had a really good workout. The stretching every night is helping a lot. I can run without being in pain now. I need to keep up with it.

Workout was 52 minutes long, went 3.5 miles, burned 369 calories and went 7223 steps.

Diane Sue - I like the Bad Ass Bowl, but man is it a lot of calories. Yesterday after I had it for lunch I only had like 200 calories left for the day. Of course as my steps went up, my calories went up, but still. That is the only thing I don't like about it. Way too high in calories and fat. How cool on those workouts you ordered!! It's always fun to get new workouts!!!

I use the really lean ground beef or bison. A lot of the time I use a smaller amount of the awesome sauce. That sauce recipe is 8 servings. I rarely eat a regular breakfast and if I have the bad ads bowl for one meal I am generally not that hungry so the other meal is usually smaller anyway. Also I copied the recipes into mfp and used my exact ingredients.

Today was Ice Chiseled Lower Body Blast mish mosh mix #1 some blizzard blasts mixed in, 65 minutes, 425 calories. I followed this with Lower Body Blast conditioning drills , 17 minutes, 60 calories. I wore 3# ankle weights or the leg lift portion. I also did Ice Muscle Meltdown shoulders, 16 minutes, 66 calories. Total time was 97 minutes, calories burned 551.
Muscle Meltdown shoulders giant set 5 exercises, 12 reps each 3 rounds
overhead press 15's ,15's, 15's
upright row 15's, 15 15's
standing side lateral 10's, 10's, 10's
front raise 15,15, 15
rear delt on ball 8, 8, 8 right then same on left

Today was full body. I probably could have gone higher in weight with this one, I didn't really feel like I was pushing it. I adjusted my weights on a few exercises but next time I'll have to go heavier.

Today's workout went like this:

2 sets/8 reps with 1 minute rest - warmed up with GS Legs

Barbell Military Press - 35#
Barbell Rows - 60#
Leg Press Station - 145#
Barbell Curls - 35#
Incline Barbell Press - 70#
Close Grip Dumbbell Press - 25's

Then I walked on my treadmill for 1 and a quarter mile.

Diane Sue - I figured out the calories in the bad ass bowl for myself as well. The Paleo book doesn't have calories in it, which bums me out. I don't know if you have an Aldi's out there, but they have this grass fed beef and it hardly has any fat in it. Good stuff. I think the calories come from the coconut oil, although it's really good for you, it's very high in calories and fat (it's all fat!) but good fat.

Jolie & Roselyn - Where are you girls??

Sorry I have not been checking in, I have kept up on my workouts, but my mom still in the hospital!! They did an xray over the weekend to check for a bowel blockage, thankfully none, but she has not started moving her bowels yet (sorry if TMI) so hopefully today something happens and she can try food again, she has been on liquids since friday :(

Im back from my vacation in Portland Oregon. It was a terrible trip for me because I was so sick the entire time. I am just now starting to feel a little better. Thank God my husband had a good time, since it was his family we were there to visit.

I am weak and still sick but I got in a good Shoulder workout, STS #13 with some extra sets and exercises.

Barbell Front Press
40# x 16, x 12, x 11, x 13 TF

1 Arm Lat Raise
12# x 12, x 10, x 8
2 Arm lat Raise
12# x 12 TF

Rear Flies
12# x 15, x 12, x 11, x 15 TF

Upright Rows DB
15# x 15, x 12, x 12 x 13 TF

Ice Core ABS # 1

I am going to start working abs again! I had to lay off because my muscles in my stomach are were sticking out and I wanted a nice flat stomach in my dress for the wedding. Back to Business!!!

Debbie- great workout today. How many days a week are you working abs?

Diane Sue- I love Muscle Meltdown Shoulders! Great job on your workout.

Roselyn- I am glad you are fitting in your workouts even though your mother is still in the hospital. I will pray for her to have a speedy recovery. Prayers coming your way.

I will go back and read your post from last week when I get a chance. I have about 7 loads of laundry to tackle right now.

Today I did STS Cardio Athletic Step 47 minutes, 351 calories. I then did Muscle Meltdown Back, 21 minutes, 98 calories. The mail came and I got my new workouts. I did all of disc 2 of Suzanne Bowen's Barre Amped Strength and Stretch. This one was pretty much a lot of deep stretching. It felt really good. 55 minutes total time. I think if I do all of that one again I will do the 6 minute ball stretch before I do the relaxation stretch that ends in sort of a lying meditation. Disc 1 looks more active and I will work it in tomorrow or at least one of the two workouts. I like that Suzanne even works on the fingers, toes, and feet on the stretching.
Muscle Meltdown Back giant sets, 5 exercises, 12 reps
one arm dumbbell row 35,35,35
pullover 40, 40,40 (Cathe uses two dumbbells and I usually use two 20's but switched to a barbell this time)
one arm wide row 25,25,25
one arm pull over 17.5, 17.5, 17.5
deadlift 35,35,35 in each hand

Roselyn, I know you must be worried. Praying for your mother.

Debbie, I tend to go a little lighter on the oils in recipes. When I make the cauliflower rice I use 1/2 Tbs.. Sometimes I throw caution out though. I have not noticed a difference one way or the other and yes, the coconut oil with it's mct's and olive oil along with the nuts is all good healthy fats. If I have the works at lunch I will have a salad or a piece of fish and steamed veggies for dinner.

Jolie, I am looking forward to Muscle Meltdown chest and triceps this week now that I have the other two workouts. I heard that shoulders is different on the mat workout than on the leg blast workout. I did not get the mat workout though. I am sorry that the trip ended up being so miserable for you. I hope you recover the rest of the way quickly. Nice workout today.

Today I did Cardio Coach 6 w/Candace (it was a Candace week) but only did Challenge 1, 2 and 4. Had a great workout, I love this one. I was sweating like crazy.

One complaint (again) about my Fitbit. So I'm running like a fool and my HR is really up there, I can feel it. I look at my FB and it says my HR is at 121-122. WTH??? So I placed my hands around the HR monitor of my treadmill and it showed I was in the 160's range - which felt like where I was. I just don't understand the difference in HR. I'm going to check the forums and see what others have said about this. No big deal I guess, but it would be nice to have a HR monitor that is actually accurate.

Anyways, my workout was 47 minutes, I ran 3.06 miles, burned 311 (treadmill said 422 which I believe more) and went 6262 steps.

Jolie - I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were on vacation - I knew you went to the wedding but didn't realize you stayed out there. Sorry you were sick the whole time, that sucks. I've been working abs once a week but haven't done so this week yet. I didn't get much results from working them twice a week during the summer.

Diane Sue - Yea, I suppose I could cut back on the coconut oil. I guess it's no big deal, it's really good food and good for you, so all is good. I need to cut back on the ingredients when making the awesome sauce because it makes so much and I end up throwing a lot of it away. I have no idea how long it's good for and I certainly don't use it all after the week I have the bad ass bowl for lunch. I hate wasting food.

Roselyn - I hope your mom can come home soon. Prayers to her.

Debbie, you could probably freeze half of the sauce. I have made up bad as bowls and frozen them. I freeze Pesto and some of the other sauces that I make.

Today's workout was Cathe's STS # 13 Chest and Triceps. I didn't go very heavy because I still feel weak so i did not want to push it. Instead, I did higher reps.

Chest press DB- 25# x 15, x 12, x 11

Chest flies- 20# x 15, x 12, x 11

Incline chest press DB- 25# x 12, x 11, x 9

Incline chest flies- 20# x 12, x 11, x 9

Triceps lying ext.- 15# x 15, x 10, x 9

Cross body ext.- 12# x 14, x 12, x 12

2 arm kickbacks- 10# x 12, x 11, x 10

Triceps cable pulldowns- 30# x 15, x 13, x 12

Debbie, great cardio workout today. My fitbit was doing the same thing this month. I write down my heart rate on my cardio and I noticed it was so much lower this last month but I was working just as hard. My treadmill and my elliptical both say I burn about 100 calories more during the workout than my fitbit says. I am going to work my abs 2 days a week and do shorter workouts. I always feel rushed by the end of my workout.

Diane Sue, I will be back later to check out your post as well as Roselyn's.

Today I did Ice Metabolic Total Body workout with the blizzard blast, 61 minutes, I used the calories burned calculator which is generally lower than map my fitness but more than Fit Bit, 363 calories. The blizzard blast on this one had a lot of jacks and burpee variations. I went heavier on the weights but not real heavy. I then did Muscle Meltdown chest, 16 minutes, 53 calories, again with the calories burned calculator and average heart rate. Fit bit is always hardly anything on these slower weight workouts. It gave me 25 calories. Then Map My FItness using the fit bit gave me over 150 calories. I did not even bother to write it down. I finished off with Suzanne Bowen Barre Amped Strengthen and Stretch Advanced Active Stretch, 28 minutes, 74 calories. On this stretch Map My Fitness gave me over 200 calories. I think the heart rate stays pretty accurate. There are a few times where I feel like it is way low when I check. I know my Polar watches sometimes seemed a bit behind but would catch up.
Muscle Meltdown Chest giant sets 5 exercises 12 reps 3 rounds
Incline push ups 12 reps each round
bench press 20's, 17.5, 17.5 dumbbells
flat bench fly 17.5, 17.5, 17.5 dumbbells
incline bench press 17.5, 17.5, 17.5 dumbbells
incline bench fly 17.5, 17.5, 17.5 dumbbells
I really felt weak on these today. That and chest work is not a favorite.

Deb, I have not tried my fitbit on the tread climber yet. You would think that it would get the heart rate right. That was one of the issues with my Polar watch was I would be working really hard and it would give me a heart beat around where I would be doing a relaxed yoga.

Jolie, nice work getting the weights in. It is smart to take it a bit lighter till you are back to normal.

Today was full body. I had a good workout and I'm so glad it's Friday!!! Bring on the long weekend!!!

Today's workout went like this:

2 sets/12 reps with 1:30 minutes rest - warmed up with GS Legs

Dumbbell Squats - 25's
Upright Rows - 30#
Alternate Dumbbell Curls - 15's
Flat Barbell Bench Press - 70#
Overhead Dumbbell Tricep Extension - 30#
Double Arm Dumbbell Row - 25's

Then I walked on my treadmill for 1 and a quarter mile. I also did some ab work during my rest periods.

No time for personals today but you all had great workouts yesterday! Nice job!!!
