Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for April 2022!!

Somehow my post posted without me hitting the button. I am looking into getting some Prolotherapy injected into my back and knee to get the soft tissue to repair faster. It is a stem cell therapy that works really well, but it is expensive. I used to have this done years ago and I rarely had any issues Iike I have now. I need to rejuvenate my soft tissue along with taking a ton of vitamins and collagen and other natural therapies.

Diane Sue, I have heavy metals in my system, you get them from pollution and cleaning supplies if you are not eating seafood. They can cause Dementia and other terrible issues in the body and brain. My doctor says everyone has them, but some people never notice and that is what causes disease because the doctors do not test for them and would not even know how to address the problem. I sure hope we all start feeling better soon, this is horrible how almost all of us are suffering one way or another.

Belinda, have a fun vacation!!! Nice job on the workout while you are traveling.

Cam, I am dying for summer to come, one day it is warm the next day it is cold. Cold for me is 60 degrees, we rarely get into the 40's unless it is in the winter during the night.

BBL to read the other posts for the day.

Diane - I have figured out how to spin around when the dog sees something he'll take off for to get the leash behind my back so I can brace with my whole body. I think I need to look into professional dog training help!!

Speaking of professional help my insurance offers a lifestyle coaching program to help with weight loss - I may give it a try. I feel like I know how to eat but the stress eating gets in the way!! And my sweet tooth!! I think just 10 lbs would help my clothes fit again!!

My workout this morning was a recovery ride with Yuri on Ifit.

No workout today, I had my PT appointment this morning. All in all, my knee is in excellent condition. I am shocked to hear that with all the squatting and lunges I've done in my lifetime, plus the running when I used to run. She said I have some swelling in my knee that is causing my pain and within a couple weeks should be gone - she gave me exercises to do every day that should strengthen the inside part of my knee. I guess there is some balance issues there where the outside is stronger than the inside. Makes sense since I never work my inner thigh and legs all that much. She checked everything and made me do all kinds of things with my knee. It was quite interesting. She used the ultra sound (is that what its called? She put gel on my knee and ran a paddle over it, I think it's an ultra sound) on it and then bandaged it and said to keep the bandages on for three days. She said this will help keep my knee stable and should relieve the fluid that is in my knee. I seriously like my PT, I am no longer afraid to go to her if I need help with anything.

Hope you all have a great day, gotta get to work since I came in late!!!

Just a quick walk with the dog. I was going to do Michelle's PiYo workout today but decided to rest me neck. It's feeling good and don't want to aggravate it. It's time for a rest day anyway. I may do that one tomorrow.

Debbie, great news on the knee!

Doreen, I know exactly what you mean about other criters and animals out when you walk your dog. I hate it when mine pulls and lunges toward animals. So frustrating!

Jolie, glad you're enjoying XTrain workouts. I can be a klutz too. Glad your knee is doing better.

Belinda, good workout today. Hope you are enjoying AZ.

Diane, I hope you don't start having neck problems. An injection might help, but you've been through a lot already and I'm sure you don't want another procedure. Be careful with step workouts.

Take Care!

I got a return call on my mammogram, and they want me to come back next week and do the right side again to get a better look at something. Not what I wanted to hear. I have never had that happen before. I forgot to mention that the technician that did my field vision test at my arthritis appointment said "you must workout" and commented on my arms. That made me feel good.
This morning I did Burpee Girl 30-minute Dance workout from 1 day ago, 38 minutes, heart rate 146/164, 237 calories, 3,637 steps. I seem to get better stats with her workouts than others. They seem mild and she is doing it without shoes. No impact and just steady movement. Anyway, knee is better today, and this was a good choice. I then went to an upper workout that she did, and did some of it with very light weights, would pause and add in physical therapy exercises and sometimes for things like overhead triceps one arm I just went to another PT exercise and paused it when needed. This was 61 minutes, 138 calories, heart rate 90/126, 240 steps. Total time was 99 minutes, 375 calories, 3,877 steps.

Belinda, nice work on getting in Iron Chest and Triceps done.

Jolie, I am glad your knee is so much better. I know I am a klutz. Half the time I trip, hit my head, stub my toe and hardly notice it till I feel pain later and remember why. I am pretty good about closing the bathroom cabinet over the toilet as I have had many run ins with it because I forgot it was open. I think I got it from my Dad as he was always cracking his head on something. I knew there was mercury found in fish. I eat Wild Salmon a lot. But, cleaners I use are the natural safe ones. One of the problems is they allow a certain amount of toxic stuff in foods and cleaners. Then how do they know how much of that little bit one person might be using. I hope the cleanse works. What kind of stuff do they put in a metal cleanse? Dr Axe has talked about him and his wife going somewhere to get prolotherapy done.

Doreen, I would think as much as you take your dog out it would be a good walker. My son had their dog trained and he is usually pretty good for a pup. Although he has decided to take off two times now and run across the street. Actually the street is a dirt road, but almost got hit by a car. If you tell him down, his trainer taught him to lie down all the way on his side in a relaxed position, so he is not down but ready to jump back up easily. I found that interesting. They take him to dog parks all of the time so you would think he would not care so much about chasing other animals.
Maybe the lifestyle coaching would be an encourage getting started back on track.

Cam, it is probably good to take a break. I am afraid of the injection. I had a needle biopsy on one side of my neck and have had issues with a nerve in there or something. The doctor messed up and hit something and I nearly jumped off the table when it hit. I should not have been able to feel it with the lidocaine she injected at first. This was a few years ago and it will sting and sometimes itch and feel like something is crawling up my neck. The doctor said it would make more space getting an injection that would take the inflammation down. To me it is temporary and as long as I can go without it I will.

My days here at work are crazy lately, I have no time for personals again. I walked on my treadmill for 40 minutes and did my PT exercises for my knee. It still feels the same, hopefully in a few days I will notice an improvement.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and weekend!! I'll try to catch up with you all later.

So I go an email to try Penny Barnshaw's new app for 1 month for $1. I follow her on YouTube (Garage Fitness Girl) and like her workouts so I signed up and did Bis and Back this morning. The app is really easy to use so far, has video demos of the moves and you check off the sets as you complete them. Also doesn't interfere with playing music on your phone as well. I liked the workout this morning too - lots of band work for the back.

Today I woke up with ZERO pain in my knee! I walked for 1 hour on the TM through the hills but not high ones, traveled 3.25 miles and burned 459 calories. Next, I did some low ab exercises and superman's, my Chiro says a lot of my low back issues are due to my low abs being out of shape as well as my low back. I have had 2 C-Sections, so my low ab area is totally numb. This causes a lot of issues for me, and it is something I really have to focus on, or I will continue to have issues in the back. I haven't worked my abs much in the past six months so I will have to make a conscious effort to make them a priority. I used to always get abs in when I did Yvette Bachman workouts as well as some Cathe workouts. Since I have not done either of these two in a while there lays the problem. My Chiro say weak muscles are the cause of most issues, just like Debbie was saying about her knee. If you knee hurts, look to the dominate quads. There are so many issues I need to work on, fortunately all of them are easy to do I just have to make the commitment to myself to do it!

Debbie, great to see that your PT is getting to the bottom of your issue with your knee. I bet you are excited for summer and some serious time off from work!

Doreen, please share with us what you will be doing to loose the weight except for making better choices with food!!! We all have that problem right! I am a stress eater and drinker, if life gives me lemons, I give myself wine! I hope you like your new workouts.

Diane Sue, the product that works wonders for eliminating heavy metals is called Detoxosode by HVS Labatories. I just take a capful of clear on taste liquid and put it under my tongue for 30 seconds on an empty stomach and do not eat or drink anything for 30 minutes. Use the entire bottle and this should rid me of all heavy metals in the system. It cost me $19, that is very reasonable for something that works so well.

Belinda, great job getting your workouts in while you are away, that is discipline!

Cam, I hope the weather warms up for you soon. I love going on dog walks, it makes our dogs so happy. Nice job on the workouts lately!

I took a 2.5 mile walk after work today.

Doreen, I get Penny's emails too. Glad you like the app. That's a great deal. I love her workouts. Let me know how you like them.

Jolie, glad your knee is better and you got a good workout in.

Good workouts everyone!

This morning I did a Vera LaRo 40 min Full Body No Repeat w/Dumbbells. I really liked it. She worked the muscles thoroughly but I liked not doing several sets of the same move. My neck feels great today, but I lifted a little lighter and subbed plank rows for standing rows. Tricep pushups were against the wall. I did like that there was very little floor work other than core. She sure creates no-boredom, fun, challenging workouts. I will do hers over Caroline's any day. For some reason I just felt dread when I did a Caroline workout. I only did a few of hers in the past couple years, but I realize she just isn't for me and I unsubscribed. I've decided I have my fave instructors and that's what I will stick with. All offer something a little different. There, that felt good to get that out. Ha!

Another gloomy, rainy day. This is getting ridiculous. Oh well, I have things to keep me busy today, that's for sure.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and there is sun in your neck of the woods.

No workout today. I went to a lady's spring luncheon at my church. Yesterday I started with CDorner Dance Cardio Lady Gaga and switched workouts after 13 minutes and decided on Jessica Smith Walk Strong Build Balance Inner Strength Episode 1 Balance Agility which uses a band. This worked much better as my knee is still bothering me. The band work was doable as well, this was 43 minutes, heart rate 102/132, 2,149 steps, 131 calories. I then did Jessica Smith Gentle Flow Yoga 3 knees and hips 22 minutes, heart rate 83/100, 39 calories, 449 steps. Total time was 65 minutes, 170 calories, 2,598 steps. My knee feels even better today. That dance workout of Chris's was just so much cross back turns and quick paced. Started out more active and hit move breakdowns and my heart rate plummeted so that is why I changed.
I got up this morning and saw that my husband had ordered all of the bands, foam roller, and mat I had in my wish list and also two IT lipsticks I wanted:D All of the latex bands I had are sticking together and breaking. I think it was time to avoid an injury with them. Plus Cathe's are not latex. My oldest daughter is extremely allergic to latex products. Now if I could just find my yoga blocks. I am thinking my grandson done something to them. May need some of those two. I use them more for resting my head at times or raising my torso up so I do not lay on my shoulder with full force.

Debbie, sometimes it takes a while to feel better. I have found that with all of the PT that I have been through. Sorry you are crazy busy at work right now. I guess we are approaching the end of the school year so that would make sense. I got an e-mail from Coffey FIt saying I needed to update my information because they could not get my payment for my subscription. I checked and it was all correct so I am hoping I do not lose my 6.99 access. I messaged her through her website. Have you had any problems?

Cam nice work today with Vera LaRo. I have not heard of her. I check others out but have certain ones that I return to most of the time. I think we all have certain instructors that appeal more than others. I wonder How Burpee Girl keeps that smile throughout her whole workouts without talking. I actually tried standing there smiling and thought that does not work well for me. I guess we don't want to see a grumpy face LOL I prefer the smile to the "I love myself" silence of Tracey Anderson workouts. I guess I kind of like talking.

Doreen, that sounds nice that you can check off the sets when done.

Belinda, nice work getting in Total Body. I hope you are having an enjoyable time.

Jolie, yeah for not having knee pain. I hope it stays that way for you. I think we all have weak muscle areas that contribute to our problem areas. My PT has mentioned the areas around the traps causing the neck pain. I am finding it helps if I do rolling with the roller and therapy balls first and then work on strengthening the mid back etc., that it helps relieve my neck. If I would just stick with it. It is hard to get in everything that I need to do and then what I want to do, if that makes sense. I will have to check that stuff out for metals. Does that negate things like zinc, selenium, and copper supplements?? I just found some Nativas detox greens that I purchased that does not have spirulina in it. I have read several places that spirulina can have negative affects on someone with auto immune diseases. It is recommended not to use it. Same for some people with allergies.
