Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Check-In for July, 2019

Today I was supposed to go on my walk but it is too hot and humid today so I decided to take a rest day instead. I have a repair man coming to put a new motor in my treadmill this afternoon so I can walk indoors on the hot days. My body is really tired and sore from yesterdays high rep workout. :) I have my son coming into town from college and bringing two girls with him to stay for the weekend. I have a lot of cleaning to do to get ready for guests. At least they will be gone all day to the beach so I don't have to worry about cooking for a crowd.

Debbie, my hot flashes have gone due to the supplement but I gained the weight over the last month or so prior to them leaving. I must confess that I have been eating really bad this summer too! I have made a conscious effort to eat better this week and I am sure that is half of my problem. I want to start doing the Yvette workouts again but I will be substituting the high impact moves for low impact going forward. I feel like such and old person lately :( I wish I could do what I used to be able to do! Getting older sucks!D

Diane Sue, sorry your arms are hurting you, it probably is from the shots. Nice workout today. Did your t shirt ever come in the mail?

Doreen, nice step workout today and I hope you enjoy your new car!

Belinda, nice workout this morning, that is tuff stuff if I remember correctly.

Have a nice day.

Jolie, my t-shirt just arrived :) If I could do what I used to do it would be awesome LOL I would lift as heavy as possible and be jumping and flying all over the place. Now I am cautious and careful about how I land and not going overboard on anything. I see people younger than me though that can no way do what I do. So, I don't feel so bad. Have fun cleaning up and preparing for guests.

Debbie, I always enjoyed the Tempo workouts. Yes, they had my Spark in the shop for a couple of months. They claimed they were driving it and trying to see if it would repeat what it did to me. They sent it back once siting not finding anything. Then it did it again. I was afraid to go out in the thing. The next time they had it so long (this was still under warranty) My husband dropped by and they didn't even know where my car was. It was parked in the back lot somewhere. So much for them driving it. I sat in the office and explained to them my research and they finally checked more and it was what I thought. I told them it was security and they needed to go in under the steering column somewhere. Sheesh!! They kept trying to tell me I was having problems because we put in an after market stereo navigation system. This was bologna! I think they said that because warranty would not cover it. I told them it was working fine for 6 months after that system was installed. They had obviously taken the radio out because it is not set back in perfectly like it was. I left it though as I was afraid to have them mess with my car again. We had the battery go out on us recently, but it is now 5 years old, so something to be expected. We did have to go to several places to find a battery for it since it was in the evening after my husband got home from work. I Would be curious to know what problems there are. My car only has 17,000 miles on it which is not bad for 5 years. I don't drive really long distances in it. Anyway, my husband said he was sticking with Ford vehicles from now on as we have never had problems. That is why he bought the Taurus after the fiasco and expense of the used Range Rover.

Belinda, it will probably take you a few days to get back on top of things after all of the travelling and stuff. Just relax a bit if you can.

Really dragging this morning. I didn't sleep well- too much on my mind with stuff to get done at work and getting the kids ready for school. So I did a Sydney Cummings Power and Strength 40 minute. Perfect - no jumping. Some combo moves, some isolation - upper and lower together.

Good morning,

I did TB Giant Sets this morning.

Debbie - the wedding was at the https://rosarycathedral.org Pretty church but a hot box in that heat :) Great job on your workouts. I need to check out the book you are reading.

Jolie - I haven't been walking lately either. Too hot and humid outside. It did cool off a bit last night, but I am too beat. Dragging the last few day's. Have fun with your son and 2 girls.

Diane - nicely done with KCM yesterday. You are right, I think it will take a few day's to recover from all that driving. I am getting old :)

Doreen - I almost did that one. Good to know no jumping in that one. Will do that one this week/

Roxie - glad you had fun at the lake.

Roselyn - great job yesterday.

I will be back later. I am still beat from my trip to Ohio.

Today I did the new Kickbox workout Cathe has out there called Kickbox & Core #255, really fun workout. She alternates from kickboxing to boxing on the bag and that was really cool. Then she does some leg conditioning drills and then ab work. Very fun and the ab work was quite doable for me so that was a huge plus.

Workout was 52 minutes, burned 393 calories and did 4549 steps. HR was 136/186.

Then I walked on my treadmill for 30 minutes, burned 189 calories, went 1.51 miles and did 3563 steps. HR was 114/135. I am almost to my 10k steps!!

I am taking my mom to the Cleveland Sight Center today in hopes that they can give her things that can make her life a bit easier at home. It's supposed to be a phenomenal place so we will see. I'll be in Cleveland pretty much all day, too bad I can't enjoy it. Oh well.

So with that being said, I have no time for personals. I'll try to be back here later. Have great workouts everyone!

Good Morning,

I got caught up from the lake today Core an total Body after my blood work this morning only one day behind now.

I really want my energy back and to feel better. I think the side effects from those immunizations may have started to wear off. I kept spiking a fever and just felt like I had flu like symptoms. Both arms hurt last night, but were okay once I got moving. The site of the Tetanus shot is still sore though.
Today I did Raw Boxing and Drills wearing my 8# vest, 29 minutes, heart rate 142 average, 179 max, 2,575 steps, met 7.1, 188 calories. Next I did Raw Lower Body Pyramid, 40 minutes, heart rate average 113, max 163, met 5.9, 211 calories, 892 steps. I stuck with mostly Kelly's weights this time. Usually I go up to 25# for some of the moves, but my shoulders and forearms were not going there. I finished off with Barre Amped Stretch and Strengthen lower body and upper body adding some rolling at the end, 38 minutes, met 2.0, 70 calories, heart rate 80 avg., 108 max, 14 steps. Total time was 1 hour and 47 minutes, 469 calories, 3,481 steps. I really took advantage of some free time this morning. I have a Smart Beat Screening Tuesday and the Arthritis Doc on Thursday, grandson Wed all next week, and of course have to do chores so I took a bit more time for myself today. I plan on mowing after bit. I had to order a weed eater that won't be here till tomorrow though. 90's here today.
Raw Lower Body Pyramid
12,15,20# dbs (1 DB for the plie squats) 3 rounds per exercise timed so you move slower as you go heavier.
Squats 12#,15#,20# DBS 3 rounds
lunges 12#,15#,20# dbs 3 rounds
plie squats 12# 15# 20# db 3 rounds
deadlifts 12#,15#,20# dbs 3 rounds
reverse lunges 12#, 15# 20# dbs ( dropped to 10#,12#,15# dbs on the 3rd round as my forearms were not liking it) Kelly suggests that she points the top of the dumbbell down to take some of the pressure off the forearms. I did this, but still felt it, but probably because this has turned out to be a sensitive area lately.

Roselyn, nice work with Body Beast Bulk.

Roxie, the lake was probably fun. I bet it felt good to get back into the workout routine.

Doreen, doesn't it just figure that when we don't sleep well because we have the things we have coming up to do on our minds and then we are fatigued before we get started on those things? Nice work today. I have not checked out any of Sydney Cummings workouts.

Belinda, I remember when we had my daughter's wedding in the church we are in now and the reception was in the gym. It was so hot in that gym. The icing was melting on the cake. That was the first week in September. They have done some remodeling, but I feel it is still pretty hot in that gym. We are going to be doing some work there tomorrow. I have a door I will probably stain while my husband does some other work. I stained all of them on the upper level above the gym a while back. They are trying to get everything fixed and ready before school starts as they have a Christian school there.

Debbie, nice work on the steps today. I hope things go well for your mother today.

Checking in late today, I had so much to do, enrolled my son in his new high school, went to get my hair colored and shopping.

Today I did Cathe Live, Vertical Loading and had a fantastic workout. I lifted almost as much as I did before I hurt my back but not with the legs. I did do legs and I am feeling it now, I just went up the stairs and they are sore!!! Workout was 1 hour and I burned 405 calories.

Great workouts everyone!

Have a nice evening.

Belinda
- Wow, that is a beautiful church!! Too bad it was so hot, I wonder if it has A/C? Great job on your workout yesterday!!

Roxie - Awesome on catching up with your workouts. Nice job!

Diane - Wow on the symptoms you are getting with the tetanus shot. Has that happened in the past with you? You gotta wonder what they are putting in our bodies. I know some of the immunization is definitely necessary, like tetanus and also small pox. I just have a problem with them putting something in your my, I always wonder what else it is doing to me. Great job getting your workout done even though you didn't have energy. I hope you are feeling more energetic today.

Jolie - Great job with Vertical Loading.

Roselyn - How is school going? Are you cutting a lot of hair now? Do you like it?

DOZ - Where are you girl? Hope you are getting your workouts in.

Doreen - Hope you have a great workout today!

Happy weekend! I can't believe this week is already over. I'll be back to work in a week and a half. :(

This morning's workout was Cathe Lite Cardio Party, 41 minutes, heart rate average 139, max 170, 3,672 steps, met 8.0, 283 calories. I then did Lite Stretch #2, 11 minutes, 31 calories and Les Mills Flow, 22 minutes, 61 calories. I need to run. DH will be back soon to get me to go do some work at our church.

Debbie, my daughter says that it is normal to have a low grade fever for about 48 hours. I feel a bit more energetic today despite the 5 hours of intermittent sleep that I had. I kept wondering why the tetanus shot side was still so tender and I forgot, she hit me with the needle the first time and I jumped. She said I tensed up. I thought she was done, but nope, she still had to give me the shot. I was rubbing it yesterday and felt the two spots and it made me think of that. I remember feeling lousy after the pneumonia shot in the past.

Ok, this is pathetic, but I am so sore in the legs today I opted not to go for a walk today :( Also, it is so humid and hot out I don't think I could do it since there is no easy walking where I live, it is all hills with beautiful views of the ocean. This will be my 3rd rest day for the week and that makes me mad. I was supposed to get a new motor in my TMill but it was defective so he has to order another one, otherwise I would have walked at home.

Debbie, great shoulder workout today, those are some impressive weights. I am not feeling it today either, very low energy due to the heat. I never do shrugs, those really upset my muscles and I pay for it dearly. Also, I remember those underhand presses being very hard to do, good job on that! I registered my son in school yesterday, it starts on the 20th next month! Summer is flying by.

Diane Sue, I have to get a tetanus shot, I haven't had on in 30 years. I am not looking forward to the soreness, my son had the same issue. Nice job on the RAW boxing yesterday, at least you could workout.

Belinda, beautiful church too bad about how hot it was, I went to a wedding like that in NY and almost died! Imagine wearing a tux or wedding dress in that heat?

Roxie, welcome back from the lake.

Roselyn, great job on the BB.

Doreen, I hope you have a great workout today.

Happy Friday

Today I pulled out Step Blast. And it was a bast from the past :p

Jolie - yes, it was hot in the church. Heck, the groom almost past out. Great job today.

Debbie - the church was beautiful. The bride and groom chose to get married in that church. They knew it didn't had AC. For some reason, she wanted to get married in that hot back. Nicely done today.

Diane - sorry you are not feeling well. Hope you feel better. Nice job today.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in after me.

Belinda, I did Step Blast recently and it was fun. I am feeling better today, other than terribly tired.

Jolie, the heat can just leave you feeling drained. I am sorry the motor was defective. Where do these places get defective parts anyway? The last tetanus shot I had was 11 years ago. I am going to get the Shingles vaccine next week. I called to see if the pharmacy had it in stock. My doctors office doesn't and I was going to have to go on a list. I found out I was going to have to go to a pharmacy since I have medicare and I guess my part D covers part of it. My husband had shingles once. It was bad. My doctor suggested I get one. My legs are pretty sore today after doing the Raw Lower Pyramid workout yesterday. I haven't hit legs very hard in awhile and they seem to always feel kind of sore lately, even with me doing mostly cardio.

Doreen, nice job stringing the Cross Train Express workouts together.

Today's workout was Kelly Coffey Step Boxing 2 both combined, 49 minutes, 338 calories, met 8.3, heart ratee average 146, max 176, 4,474 steps, More work to go do today. I would like to hit the store, but I may have to wait.

Diane - glad you are feeling better today. Hope you feel 100% soon. Step Blast is one of my all time favorite Cathe step workouts. I remember, it took me a few tries to master that one, but once you learn the steps it's so much fun. The music is amazing in that one. I really should pull that one out more often. Great cal burn too.

Workout done! Today I did Cathe Live Workout #125 Cardio Boxing with Metabolic Conditioning and it was really fun. It feels so good to workout and not be in pain. :) My legs are still sore so I picked a workout with no kicking but it did have a lot of leg work at the end. That I can do, and I had to modify the high impact moves but that was no big deal. Workout was 1 hour and I burned 502 calories. Average heart rate was 134 and max was 163.

It is hot and humid again. I got very little sleep since it was a party at my house last night. Boy these kids from college can go non stop. I would rather them be here and I know they are all safe than out and about.

Diane Sue, nice job on the Kelly step boxing, I have never done that one though I believe I have the dvd somewhere. I would get the shingles vac, that is horrible and if you can prevent it I say go for it!

Doreen, nice workout today!

I hope you all have a great day.

This morning I went for a bike ride at Ute Valley Park. First time I've just gone by myself for a workout ride. It was fun - not so much stopping to wait and let others catch up. I rode for about 50 minutes a big loop around the park. One new section was a bit tricky and I had to walk up the hill.
