Cathlete
GM MANIACS-

It was interesting to go back and see that most everyone feels ignored at some point. I will do my best to stay involved and encourage :p So, yesterday...I worked out for 18 minutes. I had NO energy to work out and quite frankly I am sore as He@@ from the workout Monday. Today is cardio, I may take it easy not sure yet.

Susan-thanks for the details on the hill sprints. I am going to work those in to my routine. I will probaby be like Diane sue and use the tm as well.

Linda-glad to see you :) And thanks in advance for posting the details of your rotation, I am always interested in ways to change it up.

Good morning to everyone else :) BBL

Theresa

Also-Diane Sue thanks for the info on the HRM and HIIT. I just assumed there was no way I could burn 1037 calories in 70 minutes; but judging by the way I felt yesterday and today, I beginning to believe it. My calves are sore ;) That is very unusual.

Morning Ladies -

Ugh...was up super early cuz I work open to close today. I wasn't really in the mood to workout and I think I may have just been half asleep going thru the motions!! LOL.

I did AHB Sculpt 1 this morning. I used heavier weights than Val. I did not kickbox during the breaks, as I was too tired. I only burned 347 calories in 1 hour. I will not judge this workout yet....since it was my first time thru and I wasn't really into it. However, Val does move sort of fast in it. I found myself needing more set up time than her.

I still like the series so far though. Although, I'll up the intensity on this next time by adding the kickboxing in, etc.

Have great workouts everyone.

Diane Sue - Re Rev Abs and the Instructor. Not sure if I really like him yet. He needs to grow on me. He has sort of a weird voice. Don't get me wrong, he looks good....buff and all....like an instructor should, but he also does some stuff that's sort of bordering on Cheesy. There is this Rev Anthem thing he has you do periodically instead of just determining your HR and intensity, he has you say this saying and see how you feel. I did NOT do it! I don't know.....other than that, I guess I just have to get used to him and his voice, as it's a bit high and raspy....sort of strange, as usually voices that are raspy are low. I also wish they had more pure cardio workouts in the set. Have you heard about the Brazilian Butt Lift set coming out in November? It is interesting also....but I can't remember exactly what it's gonna be.

Today was Meso 3, Week 1, Disc 27, Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps. I have to say, I enjoyed Meso 2 better. These workouts are just boring to me. 4 sets of the same thing and listening to Cathe babble on drives me nuts. But I had a great workout.

There are 4 rounds with one exercise for each muscle group. There was a 30-60 second rest between each set.

Warmup:
Standing Barbell Front Press - 35#/15 reps
Standing Barbell Front Press - 40#/12 reps

Workout:
Standing Barbell Front Press - 50#/6 reps
Barbell Curl - 55#/8 reps
Flat Bench Dumbbell Tricep Extensions - 20's/8 reps each arm
***With the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds I did the tricep extensions with 22's.

Seated Lateral Raise - 12's/8 reps
Incline Curls on Stablity Ball - 20's/8 reps
Seated Overhead Extensions One Arm - 15#/8 reps
***With the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds I did the overhead extensions with 17# and with the 3rd and 4th round I did the incline curls with 22's.

Seated Rear Delts Flyes - 20's/8 reps
Seated Concentration Curls - 25#/8 reps
Cross Body Kickbacks - 15#/8 reps
***Same for all 4 rounds. Could have gone heavier with cross body extensions but my right shoulder really hurts when I do this exercise. And why does Cathe call these Cross Body Kickbacks? They aren't kickbacks. They are Extensions! She of all people should know this.

Theresa - Yes, I guess we all feel that way sometimes. In my case, there are days I just don't have time for personals, especially Fri., Sat. & Sunday's. I will try to do better in acknowledging other's posts as well.

I'm seeing spots. That means migraine. Dammit!!! I need to go back and read the rest of yesterday's thread and I can barely read right now.

Good Morning, Theresa & Lora!

I have to leave to take DD to gymnastics, but will stop back this afternoon to post my workout and personals

Debbie
- Those were my exact feelings on Meso 3. I thought 4 sets was overkill and Cathe never shut-up! Since a lot of the footage was reused it got so DH was quoting her! LOL! I also jogged in place during the rests because I was bored.
Also, sorry about the migraine, take something quick and hopefully it won't get too bad. Fell better!:)

Linda - I did, I took two excederin but the headache is kicking in hard and strong right now. I hope it subsides.

Ok, I think its quite obvious that the reason this checkin is dwindling is because we all feel like no one reads our posts. LOL!! Kind of a domino effect I'd say. So I, for one, will try to read all posts and TRY to respond. Sometimes I read through the checkin quickly just to see if someone asked me a question or commented on something I said an then I would respond. It's just hard for me to respond to everyone because I'm at work and I just don't have the time.

Suz - I read what you responded back to me with yesterday and I'm sorry you felt like we were ignoring you. Not my intent at all. I hope you and Sonya will join us again.

Diane Sue - I'm glad you got the HRM you wanted. Bummer that they didn't have the F11. I heard the F6 is similar to the F11 though. I'm sure it will work well for you.

I started my workout with Amy's Kettlebell Dynamics w/up and workout 1 and burned 140 calories, then I jumped on the treadmill and went 4 miles and burned 295 calories(this did not seem right) Max HR was 158. I threw in 8 8.5 mph sprints. Then I went back and did STS no partner medicine ball abs, with a 15# med ball, then STS weights and plates abs only doing the weights segment , 3 sets of 15 reps hanging knee raises on my vkr tower with a 10# medicine ball, and went back and did the abs and stretch from Kettlebell dynamics with 20#. I finished with Kimberly Spreen's cardio combat surge premix fusion stretch. Total calories burned was 640. This HR monitor seems off too. I know how I feel when I am working out. Well, I cannot take this one back. Once opened it is mine. I guess I will just have to make myself accept a lower over all calorie count so i don't work myself to death. It was simple to work since it works just like the F11. I didn't see the test mode in there though. I will have to go back and look.
I still have a scratchy throat this morning and my ears were ringing when I got up. Slight headache too. I slacked off on taking the Zicam the last couple of days.
I have to leave so will be back for personal in a little bit.

Theresa - Yes, on days like today when it's snowing and windy, treadmill sprints would be LOVELY! Hehe.

Debbie - Thanks. I hope your migraine goes away. Those things just SUCK!

Diane Sue - Sorry that HRM doesn't seem right either. Maybe you need to tweek it with your own settings or something? And I'm not sure the F6 has the test mode, I know one of the models didn't have that. Nice workouts! I wish I had your passion to work my abs!!!

I am back for a bit. Still need to get to the grocery store. The problem with clean eating is you have to replenish the fresh stuff often. I made the Clean Eating Magazine Cauliflower cardamom soup and the spiced garbonzos to go on it. It is not a hit. It was just ok, maybe because my broth had no sodium. It was also spicey. I think the rest will go in smaller bowls in the freezer for when I need something to eat. Luckily as I am usually the only person to eat this stuff so I cut the recipe in half. That is 3 servings. My servings are usually bigger anyway:p

Debbie, you are right, the F6 does not have the test mode. But you can change the vo2. I checked my F11 and changed mine and made note what the default is so I can put it back if I need to. Mine was at 41 when I did the test a couple of weeks ago. I was really relaxed when I did it too. I fell asleep. LOL Anyway that is the elite range for the age 40-44 group. I will play around with it because I am sure I can get some adjustments made that will work. Maybe I need to be younger LOL I sure hope you get that migraine under control I know if I take Excedrin and it gets worse I am doomed for a long time. I hear you on Mesocycle 3 weights. I like plyo a lot but really did drag through the weights. I guess that is why I am not looking forward to the next cycle. I want to put it off. Abs is probably my favorite area to work. I guess that is why I never get sore except for rare occaisions.
I am sure you are right, that people leave because no one responds to them. Won't see me leave though:p I come on here and talk to myself at time LOL I know others read the check in that don't post on it.

Theresa, I am sure with that workout that you probably came pretty close to what it said that you burned. Try the cardio only sometime. That one really keeps the HR up:D:D

Lora, I usually do the cheesy stuff but I look over my shoulder to make sure no one is looking or I close the workout room door so I don't look like a dork. Hey pretend you are Tony Horton. I bet he would do the cheesey stuff and laugh about it. That is wierd about the voice. I thought I watched the video clip for Rev Abs and don't remember noticing anything. I will have to go back and listen again.
Who is doing the Brazilian Butt workouts? What does a Brazilian Butt look like? Just kidding:p

Suz, I tried to do some of those sprints up hills on the treadmill at 8.5 mph and then would level out at 6 mph but boy with this new monitor I just don't know that it was working. I will get this figured out though. The last 15 minutes of my time on the treadmill I did hill jogging.

Roselyn, what type of changes have you seen with the insanity series? The strength work is mostly all bodyweight stuff isn't it?

Debbie-I totally hear you on limited time especially at work. I am resisting the urge to strangle myself at this very moment. It has been SO hectic the last two weeks that it is starting to wear on me. I had a good cry last Thursday for about 2 min and then I was fine. I get pissed off quite easy and sometimes crying is the only thing that calms me down :) Good luck on Meso 3. Are you doing a p90x rotation next? I never finished Meso 3. You and Linda are right, 4 sets is overkill and the length of the rest periods almost kill me.

Susan-it's snowing ?!!!! That sounds like tons of fun ;) May I ask what type of rotation you are following? Do you do figure competitions as well?

Diane Sue-what incline did you use on the hill sprints? Mine only goes to 10, so I thought I would start at 5 % and go from there. I will try the cardio only, I never knew a basic step could be so exhausting. The lunge hops were my least favorite, but overall I think it is a great workout. I noticed her making comments about the sweating as well, what does she think is gonna happen :D ? Also, recipe wise, I made the rice pilaf from the new book and it was quite good, and pretty easy too.

Lora-where did you get the rev abs? I hope your day goes fast.

Roselyn-I'm curious about your results as well.

Linda-sorry to hear about the HR monitor troubles. That would make me want to throw it out the window. How's your turbulance training going? Are you doing free weights or videos?

I'm sorry if I missed anyone. I will try to get back later.

Sorry you are having such a hard time at work right now. I hope things ease up for you soon. I'm hoping to do P90X, Linda and I want to do the rotation together.

Thanks Debbie-I don't mean to be dramatic, I'm sure it will be better soon; but there is only so much I can take in one day...Hope you like p90x. I liked Month1 better than Month2 and actually lost steam on the whole 90 day thing. I have a 2 second attention span anyway. I think I need bi-monthly rotations.

Roselyn-glad to hear you like Insanity. how long are the workouts?

Theresa

Spent all afternoon on the phone with my internet service provider trying to get service and no luck. Now it's finally back and I have to run out the door to soccer then work. I hopefully can get back later.

I went to the store and got some things I needed. I hate when I start a recipe and am missing ingredients.

Theresa, here is a link that I found for Rev Abs. http://livefitnessnow.com/rev-abs-with-brett-hoebel/
I am not sure but I think that Lora got hers from Mary at Total Fitness DVDs. I have not pusrchased there so am not sure. I think she is a Beach Body Coach. The price appears to be higher now than it was when I looked yesterday. I checked earlier and still did not see it on Beach Body. They were supposed to e mail me when available. Hmm. I guess that doesn't mean when it is available for coaches to sell. Thanks for the tip on the rice pilaf. I will make a note in my cookbook. My house smelled icky when I came in from the cauliflower soup cooking. Maybe I would feel different if it was good.

Debbie, I think thatyou will like P90X. You can work out at your own pace, do as many reps as you want, and personally I think the music is not bad.

Linda, sorry you had to waste your time with internet service. I hate that and am sure we all have been there.

Diane Sue-thanks for the link. Sorry your house had the aroma of cauliflower ;)

Linda-that sounds very tedious. I think this day is tedious all around.

Theresa, I hope the link works for you. Honestly I have watched various you tubes and the workout looks good. But some of the women on Video Fitness seem to not like these workouts. I read music, voice, repetition. The one I read repetition on though never did the rev segment which was later in the workout that she was doing. I will wait it out a little while. Read reviews since the price is up now.
