Hardcore Fitness Maniac Hotties for 8/20

Today I did yoga and ab work. My muscles are so tight in my glutes, hamstrings and IT band again. I just don't get it. It's a weird tightness, one that is hard to explain. Yoga hurt today, I could not get my muscles to loosen up at all. I was sweating big time.

I chose YogaX from the P90X series. I did the first 40 minutes of it. I really like this workout, it is very thorough. It was hard for me to do some of the moves because of the tightness in my muscles.

For ab work I chose the Weights and Plates workout from STS Ab Circuits. I only did the weight part because you all know how much I love plate work. LOL! And yes, plates means paper plates for this workout. I ran out of time anyways. The weight work was about 10 minutes, maybe a little longer. You use ankle and wrist weights. I liked it and felt it big time.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

I see I am not the only one not around much. OMG..where did everyone go??? Vacation??? I have been really super busy. Son just left for college yesterday and been working out except for the past 2 days cuz just no time, but on Phase 2 of the P90X classic rotation and on the second week of it. Doing Plyo's today.

Debbie,

Nice workout! Yoga X is so good to do.

Hello to everyone else.

I got up at 4:45 this morning to get my workout in thinking I was taking the children to school. My son in law had more doctors appointments today to try and figure out the head and back thing and the seizures he is having. So he took his son to school and DD decided to take hers to their first day. I will pick them up.
This morning I did 4DSplit Kickbox w/up and cardio, then KPC intensity drills, Amy's Hi/Lo Knockout combos and knockouts 1 & 2 and 1&2 combined, c/d, core, stretch.755 calories. Since I still had time I did Tracey's Yoga Solutions lunge series and balance series and burned 104 calories. They hold those balance poses so long my legs are burning

Dang, Diane Sue - I sort of want that yoga DVd now. I might like it. And I had missed out on the ordeal with your son-in-law. Hope he is ok.

Debbie - sorry you are so tight. I woke up this morning and my triceps were on fire. Yowza. The biceps feel nice too but those triceps are taking over! My hamstrings are tight too and I'm not sure why.

Hi Char :)

Anybody see the new clip of Jari Love's Get Extrememly Ripped 1000? I love her original 1000 but this one looks boring. It's like she is too weak and frail and just doesn't do the moves like she used to.

Still deciding for sure on the workout for today.

Char - Hi girl! Miss you!

Diane Sue - I hope your son can find out what is causing his problems. That is scary stuff! Nice workout!

Shana - LMAO on your comment about Jari. I don't know how she can lift 5# with the way she looks. Talk about malnourished!

Hi guys! It's been a rough week- bruised my shin bone pretty bad trying to catch Max's stroller from tipping over backward earlier in the week. It still hurts to even stand. Plus, the company in our house finally left and I just can't recover. I feel tired and crappy and have been eating like crap- you all know the cycle.

I am trying to feel better and get back on track. I did CTX upper body today and honestly, it sucked. I never feel that way, but it did! I felt weak and had a lot of trouble with stuff- wanted to quit a few times but I got through it. I wonder what is up with me. Weird. Eats are clean today and will remain so- this has to make me feel a bit better.

Sorry so short and all about me- gotta go get the kids.

P.S. Jari is different- I have one workout of hers and um, that's plenty. :p

I have been busy with getting kids back in school. My daughter is a senior and my son just started H.S. So, two different extremes.

Today I did Athletic Step Jam. Had a good workout.

Charlotte, good to have you check in again. Good to hear you are still getting your workouts in despite being busy. I bet that was emotional sending your son off to college:)

Debbie, I still remember having that tightness before and it took a long time to get it all worked out. I didn't want to sit too long at a time because it would get to where it hurt. It is kind of hard to explain. I use some of Jari's workouts for change but I usually follow the guys in the back. She does look awfully thin in this preview. Maybe she needs to increase some calories for that workout;)

Patti, good to have you back. I bet once you get back to eating right and keep doing some workouts you will start feeling like your old self. Maybe you need to get a little more rest. I know having company can take it's toll there as well. I hope the shin bone heals soon. Maybe you should have a doctor look at it.

Shana, I like Jari's Extremely Ripped. I know that there are those who don't. Now Ripped 1000 I do like but it just makes me mad that they can advertise that you can burn up to 1000 calories. I say that there is no way. I go heavier, carry the cardio portions throughout the stretch segments(which I think are not necessary for every circuit) I also try to up the intensity. It just doesn't happen even near that much. I pulled it out last week and I only burned 374 callories:confused: I like her Ripped and Chiseled for an endurance workout. I can split it an combine body parts with other workouts. I sure wish she had better music.

Diane Sue - I have never burned 1000 calories either. This is a new one of hers though. I guess she had Get Ripped series and now she is starting a Get Extremely Ripped. If you don't burn 1000 in the first one, you surely won't in this one. At least not what I saw on the clip. I remember you saying you like the new Get Extremely Ripped. I think it can be a good guide as long as you don't follow her, but I've got too many workouts as it so I'm skipping the new series. I am, however, going to look into TS yoga DVD now.

Hi, Char and Patti, glad to see you back!

I have major DOMS in my butt which is a shame because the last thing I need is bigger butt muscles!:p That is exactly where I would not want hypertrophy to occur!

This morning I did Amy's KB Surge, doing some ab work after the w/u and adding Amy's In The Ring Med Ball Intervals 1-4 x 2 on to the end and finishing with the stretch from ITR. Workout was 1:30 and I burned 723 calories.:D

Yesterdays meals were:
Breakfast- silver palette thick and rough oats(love this brand) with 1 scoop Dymatize Elite Protein powder, almond butter
Lunch- salad with grilled chicken, Kraft greek olive oil vinegrette
Snack- shake with ice Gold Standard chocolate whey, almond butter, water
Dinner-salad, 1 slice low fat swiss cheese, tuna, and veggies in Joseph's low carb pita bread
Snack-Dymatize Elite French Vanilla whey, blueberry shake

I went to this discount sports and nutrition store to check out there protein powder. They had a nice selection but no BioChem. No 2 pound canisters of vanilla in the Optimum Nutrition so I bought the Dyamatize Elite Whey Protein Isolate which is really good, and is low in cholestral, sodium and carbs. It mixes easy too, so I can mix it in water before I pour it in my oatmeal.

Thanks for the welcome back! Linda, this made me LOL- seriously funny. I hear you. Since really getting serious with weight lifting this last year my butt has most assuredly improved but it ahem, isn't small. I think Gin Miller had a quote that I read somewhere- if you're going to have a big butt, have a GREAT big butt. Yeah. I agree.

Diane Sue: You're right, thanks. I will hang in with good eating and working out and I'm sure it will all fall back in line. That's why I'm not really in the dumps about it- if every workout was a great workout, well, hmm. That would be nice, wouldn't it? LOL.

Speaking of protein powder, I tried some single servings of Whey + Greens and it wasn't bad. I may pick some up and use it from time to time.

Hi Debbie, Char, Shana and Roselyn!

Hello Ladies-

Charlotte_I saw on facebook your son was going to school. Hope he does well. What rotation of p90x are you following? There were 3 choices-classic, doubles, and lean. I really need to lose some weight. I was thinking lean may be better.

Patti-sorry to hear things are so rough. I hate hitting my shin, it takes forever to heal. there is just no meat there...I felt the way you feel last week. I just let myself have some time to be blah and now I'm back...ready to face the world :)

Shana-I saw your reply yesterday, but I'll post here. You are doing a p90x/sts rotation? May I ask what your plans are for both? I just got p90x, and am really excited to try it...I may take it one month at a time. I really suck at push ups, and I hear there are a lot of them.....sigh.

Diane Sue- I use BSN lean dessert protein and it is great. It mixes really well with the oatmeal. Also, I tried another brand recently-Jay Robb's or something like that-it has stevia and bcaa in the mix. It tastes good but mixes terrible.

Linda-LOL on your booty doms. Isn't that always the case, though?

I've seen clips of Jari Love and she really is a waif.

Tonight is tb circuit. I may do bm2 bootcamp premix.

HI Patti - sorry you had the incident. My shin is still healing from my stepmill incident a few weeks ago. I heard that Vitamin C can help with the bruising. Hope it gets better soon.

Theresa - I think Char is doing classic, but I'm not sure. I am really clueless myself on what I'll do. I just want to try combining the two so that I don't get bored. We'll see.

Today, I did Legs and Glutes. I hadn't done that one in a long time and I like the few weights needed, and the fact that they aren't heavy but I really feel it. My right knee was doing that weird popping that I hear but don't feel and at one point, it hurt when I moved it a certain way on the floor work but seems ok now.

Yeah I have a J-lo backside and the last thing I need is more junk in my trunk!:p

I got an hour walk in. Don't know the calorie burn as I forgot to put my chest strap on.:( But it was a fast walk because DS & DD were with me on their bikes, and DD just had her training wheels raised and is a little shakey so 90% of the walk I was holding onto her handle bars.
